4th gen. nano's buttons just stopped working

I have a nearly new 4th generation ipod that just stopped working in certain respect. It charges, its recognized by the computer and syncs just fine.
The only issue is, my buttons do not work. I keep it in extraordinary shape-and too be honest I'm a little furious that its committing suicide because i treat it so well.
I've restored, reset and still no solution. Which by the way is a twist in the story- the buttons work in order to reset the ipod but do not work to actually use the **** thing.
HELP

my buttons work fine its just when I try to scroll it seems to stick or just not go as fast as it should, im ****** to. i want to know if this is fixable and covered in my warranty, which is about to expire.

  • IPad (1st gen.)  headphone jack just stopped working, Internal speaker works fine

iPad (1st gen.)  headphone jack just stopped working, Internal speaker works fine

If the headphones work in another device, then the headphones are OK.
If different headphones work in the iPad, then the iPad is OK. If not, check the headphone socket for fluff ot other debris. If you see nothing, try repeated plugging and unplugging several times.
Resetting the ipad may do the trick as well.

If you are unable to restore your iPhone with iTunes without having to enter the passcode, you will not be able to update your iPhone's backup. You will need to place the iPhone into recovery mode in order to restore the iPhone with iTunes and you can restore from the most recent backup available.

  • On my nano 2nd gen, my center/select button just stopped working. all other buttons work.

on my 2nd gen nano, I added an audiobook yesterday. now the center /select button just quit working. now all i have is just the main menu. everthing downloaded music & audiobook.

I've been trying to fix a 1st Gen 1GB Nano for the past two days for a coworker and I have to say that with all the digging I have done (around 10 hours at this point) I have yet to find a solution to this matter.
It's become clear that something is happening with the new updates that seem to be killing off a increasing number of iPod's yet you'll find no fix here.
You will however hear many, many, many times over to do the 5R's. And you can do that many, many, many times and you will return to the same problem every time.
It's not just a problem with iTunes/iPod on XP as I can confirm I have had this problem on OS X as well.
Apple needs to get their act together and start offering some answers to customers questions. I shouldn't have to pay or take a trip to a not so local store just to get product I purchased from the company to work.
I find myself nervous each and every time my Mac tells me it has updates because I just have to ask myself what this update is going to break.
Will my iPod play after this update? Will iTunes work after this update. Oh look, my iSight doesn't work anymore after the OS X update (I finally fixed that), and now I see that some Intel iMacs are having wireless issues as well.
I'm growing more and more frustrated each time I see another person having a problem but only see the same answers (that don't work) offered. If it wasn't for end user support there would be no support at all.

  • My iPod touch's(4th gen, iOs 5) front camera stopped working. Why? And how can I fix it?

I can't use it on the regular camera, CamWow, instagram, twitter or anything else that involves a camera. And it's only the front camera. I can use the back camera on instagram. Anyway, all of my apps/cameras are all on the front camera and the little button to change it from front to back isn't on it. So I can't use my back camera either. It just randomly stopped working on friday and I don't know why. I've tried turning my iPod on and off but that doesn't work. So please help?

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • 4th gen iPod home button doesn't work

    well here's the story:
since i've had my ipod (the christmas of '12), it has been pretty much fine, seemed uncrackable etc.
so early this week, out of the blue, i go to take my ipod out from bag and it was (on and) cracked. shocked, i didn't know what to think. but to prevent little pieces of glass from falling out from the cracks, i decided to cover it up with tape (the normal clear tape). this seemed to be doing a good job to hold me off until i have enough to replace the screen.
my ipod was working perfectly fine for the day, when suddenly, next thing i know, my home button doesn't work, it's stuck. i have the alternative home button right now ( the whatever-button), but honestly, it bothers me a whole lot and i can't stand it.
does anyone have an idea how i can fix my home button? and if the cracks have anything to do with the now nonworking button? the cracks are all around the button, so i've been lead to believe this might be the case?
    so please, help!!!!

Could be that what ever caused the screen to break also resulted in the button problem. You can try:

  • Home Button just stopped working

Hi new to the website, had the phone over 15months now, suddenly for no reason the homebutton stopped working. Means i have to shutdown and turn it back on to change apps and can't do a restart as the phone doesnt know the homebutton is there!
Any reason for this or anything i can do? getting very annoying now!
any help would be great cheers

Is this is due to a hardware failure, nothing provided here will resolve it.
Since you can't do an iPhone reset and there is no change after powering your iPhone off and on, the next step is restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup first and if no change, restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after these two steps, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware failure. If no longer under warranty - you didn't purchase the AppleCare extended warranty which extends the standard one year warranty by an additional year, Apple offers an out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price, which pays for an exchange at a discounted price off the full/non-subsidized retail sales price. The cost is $199 plus tax, includes a 90 day warranty, and does not require signing a new two year contract with AT&T.

  • Camera Button just stopped working

Very strange ... has been flawless since September.  Starting today, when I push the Camera Button, it no longer vibrates and starts my camera APP.  After I manually select the Camera App from my App drawer, the button works fine to take the picture...  I've rebooted.  I've pulled the battery.
    Any ideas??

I press it a looong time - much more than "usual".  Anyway, this is very bazaar ....  I went thru the pain of uninstalling any and all APPS that I recently installed over the last week - including LPP which was a total pain.  1 by 1 uninstalling, rebooting, testing camera ...  It suddenly worked after an uninstall of 1 particular APP ... so I rebooted again, just to verify.  It failed to respond again to pressing the button .. Rebooted again, didn't install anything, tested - it worked this time ..  So honestly, I can't say any particular APP is causing this ... I reinstalled the APPS that I had uninstalled - and it is currently working  ..  So now am nearly convinced this intermittent bug was introduced with the latest OS update ...  ugh ...  It worked perfectly -- 100% of the time prior to this update.
    Anyone else experiencing this ?
I've have the phone for over a month (yep, folks...past my 30 days.  I'm keeping the Droid X!)  It came with 2.2 (and I went through the latest update with no probs - knock wood), and I've always had to hold the camera button down for a few seconds.  Thought it was inherent to the phone.

  • I got my iPhone 4 in October, and the lock button just stopped working.

I have never dropped my phone, and I keep it in its case. The lock button won't press down anymore, and I haven't had my phone long. I was wondering if there is any way Apple could fix this before I drive to the store. Thank you.

  • Does anyone know why my command button just stopped working?

No idea what to do, or what happened and need help!

Your Command key may have been Unmapped (Meaning the binding was removed).
    Go to system preferences
    Then click Keyboard
Then click modifier keys on the bottom right
Then make sure your command Keye is binding to command like this.

  • The hold button and volume buttons have stopped working on my iTouch 4. How can I fix it?

I've only had it for about 6 months. It's never been dropped or abused in any way. All of the sudden, the buttons just stopped working. How can I fix it? Please help!!

The issue with the battery is a problem.  The last battery I purchased was at the end of September, so it is NOT old.  I would think that a battery would last longer than 6 months, considering the original one lasted up until that point.  Granted it would not hold as much of a charge, but it still worked at least.  So, at this point, I would think it would be a problem with the laptop and not the battery.  I have asked a few friends of mine, who are IT professionals and they said that it is probably an issue with the internal power supply.  I've also tried replacing the AC adapter and that did not work either.  As you said, you get what you pay for.  Since I paid a good price for this laptop I would think it would last longer than it has.  The other 2 I have do not have this issue.  The DV5215us is on it's second battery, which is reasonable, and it does not have this charging problem.  The tx1115nr also does not have this problem and is still on its original battery.  One would think that since the earlier generations of product would have more problems than the latter, but I guess that is not the case.
Like I stated eariler I am rough on my laptops and I should probably look at ones that are built more rigid.

2nd Gen Time Capsule - will not power up - just stopped working all of a sudden - I have tried other power outlets - I have tried pressing the reset button - no light

The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
    The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.
