do a full reset and recover from backup, and be patient this time, allow the prcoess to complete. Upgrades can take hours to finish, many people disconnect or try to restore the iphone before its finished updating, flashing itself and rebooting.

If you take a screenshot (Press the home button and Lock button at the same time), does it appear on the screenshot? Zoom in on the screenshot and see if it's still there.
If not, then your display is failing. I would recommend taking it to an Apple Store if you can, if you can't then to an authorised Apple reseller.
If it does appear on the screenshot when you zoom into the spot, then it's a really weird software issue! You might have to backup and restore the device.

Do you have AppleCare? Even if you don't, take to the Apple store and tell them what happened. They should help even though it's a few months out of warranty. You might have to talk to a manager or different higher up.

HT201177 inserted a CD into my mac and it doesn't play or even eject the CD, i tried to reboot several times but still it wont come out.

My Mac is very slow and some times takes a while to start up, is there a way to defrag or speed up. i don't have alots off stuff on my laptop use my hard drive..

Sure ! -I"m presuming you're using a Mac Pro and not a MacBook Pro, which are different cats. For the CD, reboot and hold down the mouse button, and keep holding it down, then the CD should eject. Failing that, you could try "the old paperclip trick". carefully pull down the aluminum shutter covering the cd tray and look underneath the tray, You'll probably see a power light and a small hole. use a very stiff, sturdy paperclip, straighten it out and stick it in the hole.The tray should now release just enough for you to grab the tray and get the cd out. As for your Mac running slow, how much RAM do you have on board? Try running Disk Utility, Onyx or TechTool Pro, hopefully 1 of those 3 should help your Mac run better. Just FYI, this is a Mac pro forum, y'know the tower things, not Macbook pro-just letting you know for future reference. The paperclip trick probably won't work if it's a portable Mac. also, try doing an SMC reset....

You should backup anyway, using Time Machine or some other method, just in case Apple need to change the HD, or something goes wrong.
Always have a current backup, since computers & hard disks do fail.

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.

One song stops after a few seconds on a new ipod touch, need some help

So I just got a 16gb iPod Touch as a gift and it works fine, all my songs play fine except for one of my songs that stops after like 7 seconds of playing. If I have it on repeat it will keep doing the same thing but if I forward the song a bit it will play fine till the end. Now this song plays fine on my PC, and it has played fine on my previous iPod video. Any one have any idea on why this is happening? It's kinda scaring me since I don't have the receipt for this iPod Touch and thats one of my favorite songs.

I had the same problem with one particular track I downloaded off Limewire earlier today and I've downloaded lotsa stuff on there over the years. I guess I'm fortunate compared to some of you with like 10 songs affected.
Anyways a little troubleshooting helps here. First off, it shouldn't be happening with any track downloaded off iTunes. Those are clean as a whistle in my experiences although iPod touch had some bug issues with songs stopping few seconds into them when they first came out last year. That problem appears to have been rectified unless you guys haven't done an update lately on your units.
So if you're downloading off Limewire or some other peer-to-peer service, you're probably getting a corrupted file that is causing this problem. I tried a couple different file downloads of the same song from different users and parameters until I found one that finally worked. It is true that a corrupted file will play on the older iPods because in my case it did on my 80GB and on my computer. It's only iPod touch that appears finicky about what it wants to play.
This is most likely therefore not a bug specific issue with Apple that you can rely on fix. You guys are probably gonna have to find new source files for your affected songs until you get one that works. Pain in the arse no doubt but the only real solution.

4th Gen nano reboots but won't get past Apple logo, Hold switch trouble

I just got a used 4th gen nano for my son, when I charge it it lights up with the apple logo but nothing past that. I can press the menu and center buttons together to get into diagnostic mode, when I go into the IO test it says the hold switch is on when it's actually in the off position, and vice versa. However if I turn the switch on, so that the test says it's off, then it really does act like it's on and freezes up. Hence, I can't do anything other that get into diagnostic mode, I can never get to the music menu. Any advice???

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.
