4x6 photos are printing orange??

I've designed a 4x6 xmas card on your Creatre site and I'm using photo plus paper from HP and the cards keep coming out entirely orange.  What's up?

Hi there,
I could use a little more information to help narrow troubleshooting. Specifically what operating system are you using and what is the model number for the printer? If you have difficulty locating the model number please use one of these guides to get it:

  • Photos are printing too dark

Hi, I use Aperture 2.1.4 to edit my photos and my imac is running OSX 10.6.  I have recently purchased an EPSON Artisan 730 and am not sure what I am doing wrong but my photos are printing darker than they appear on the screen.
    The setting in Aperture are
    Paper size:  10x15cm
    Orientation:  landscape
    Colorsync profile:  PX830 730 Artisan837 730 Epson glossy
    Black point compensation not ticked
    gamma:  1.0
    sharpen amount: 0
    sharpen radius:  0
    scale to:  fill entire page
print resolution: use best dpi ticked
Please can you offer any suggestions or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

Léonie kindly asked me to add to your thread.  Other than the links you'll find in the post of mine to which Léonie already linked (I don't sense that you've read them), I can make the strong suggestion that you upgrade Aperture to the current version (and upgrade to 10.6.8 or 10.7.x, too).  Apple has been steadily working on color and luminance fidelity (it's a difficult problem), and has made significant changes to the rendering of Images in the OS and in Aperture.
It is odd that you made no changes in the software calibration process.  Redo it?

Don't be overly discouraged by the complexity of the topic.  With some work you should be able to get reliably close.  Whether "close" is close enough is for you to say.
I print (to Epson Printers, but that shouldn't matter) with "Rendering Intent" set to "Perceptual", and "Black Point compensation" checked.  The second is perhaps impossible to ascertain, but the first should change the luminance distribution visibly (depends on the photo).  These, however, are refinements.  You have to get "close" first.
Here is the first thing to check after confirming that your printer is working properly (sorry for quoting myself):
The quick answer -- now that you've got this far  -- is set your monitor brightness to something that appears gray rather than light.  This is probably close to the middle of the available range, and two or three steps lower than you might chose for comfortable viewing.  Implicit in that is that what is best for editing photos is often different from what is best for doing other work on a computer.

  • Photos are printing completely black?!

I have an HP D110 printer and an iPad running iOS 4.3.1. When using AirPrint to print photos, the photos are printing completely black. I restored the factory settings on the printer. Emails are printing fine using AirPrint. So far neither HP or Best Buy has been of any assistance. Please let me know if anyone has experienced this.

Does AirPrint allow you to manipulate printer settings on the iPad? Are emails in black and white only? Have you tried printing an email with something colored in it like text, or an avatar, or something? If emails aren't printing color, or can only be printed in black in white, the printer isn't getting the message to use color and is just blasting out the black ink. Somewhere there has to be a step you are missing (obviously) that should fix this. Dumb question, but you do have colored ink in the printer, right?

  • Canon i9900 color inkjet printer. Photos are printing with colors wrong. Is there a driver that works?

I'm using a new MacBook Pro/Mavericks and a Canon i9900 color ink jet photo printer. The colors are printing all wrong, it almost looks like a negative. Printing directly from the Canon 6D photos print just fine. Is there a work around for this? Canon says it's Apple's driver that is the problem. I've tried printing from PhotoMatrix Pro, Photoshop CC, PhotoElements CC, Preview, and all kinds of software but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions out there?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but a printer must be consuming a little electricity for it to sense and respond to a command to turn on and print. Therefore, I suggest you forget buying a new printer with this feature and simply leave the printer you already have on all the time.
    Just a thought!

  • Photos are printing elongated

I have a deskjet 3054. I am trying to print photos from my computer. The photos are coming out elongated. Documents are printing OK. How can I fix this?

  • Photos are printing poorly, muted colors. I have 10.9.5 and am using iPhoto 9.5.1

I use a relatively new hP photosmart printer and always had great color in my prints on my previous iMac. Now, with the new one my photos are muted and do not look like what I see in iPhoto. Any suggestions? I have not loaded Yosemite and don't know if that would help. I keep reading too many horror stories!

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  Can you print normal looking photos from another app, say Preview?  Do you know the color profile of the photos you're trying to print?  You can see what it is by opening the photo with Preview and checking the Info window's General Pane:
Does the HP printer have a printer utility that can do a test print of each of the color cartridges to check for correct flow, etc.? If so have you tried it?

  • Why do 4x6 photos not print from computer on 7520 HP printer

In settings I changed it to 4x6 photo paper and set it at that default. Then when I want to print from the 4x6 tray it tells me the tray is empty meaning the 8x11 tray is empty, which should be empty. It should switch to the 4x6 tray but it does not do that so therefore I can not print 4x6 photos. What else can I do? Am I missing something?

I found the answer to my own problem. Leave the paper in the bottom tray as well when one puts photo paper in the 4x6 tray. That is the reason it tells me my tray is empty when in fact the bottom 8x11 tray should have paper in it as well. Only the Settings need to be changed for 4x6 photo paper and then change it back to the 8x11 to letter paper.

  • Windows 7 home premium-3210 aio photos are printing grainy. this problem just started

just started to see that photos printed are grainy. not noticable prior to this date.

Hello @465pittsburgh , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are running into photo issues.  I would like to help.
I would recommend removing the cartridges, and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then recommend this document on Printed Colors Are Not the Colors Expected.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Have C4795 Photosmart printer. When printing 4X6 photos , the print starts halfway across the paper

When printing 4 X 6 photos on C4795, printing starts halfway across the paper, leaving
a half-page of blank.  How do I realign to correct this?
    Thanks, John

Binary Zen - thanks for your reply.  I'm using iPhoto on a brand new iMac.  Just upgraded from an iMac G5 that I've been using
for 6 years.  So, new software.  Also new printer, to me, just set up on wireless network.  I had successfully printed photos on this printer using my old iMac, but the new iPhoto software is different, and doesn't seem to give me some of the print options I'm used to, such as selecting 'draft' for quick and dirty printing, etc.
One interesting note: I reread the printer manual, which said to slide the left slider against the paper.  That moved the start point on the print to about 1" in from the leading edge instead of half-way across the page.  Now all I have to do is figure out how to move it over another inch.  I'm starting the photo paper exactly on the marks on the paper tray.
    Suggestions welcome!  Thanks, John

    Hi
    I have a new HP 5520 printer.
I have HP advanced photo paper to print.
All the photos I try to print with best quality setting come out totally blurred.
Photos have a great resolution, that is not the problem.
    HP cartridges.
HP page printed to diagnose printing quality ok.
What is the problem, any idea? What can I do?

Did you select HP Advanced Photo Paper as the media type?

  • Help - My photos are not printing properly - highly pixelated ty

I have a new installation of PSE 10.  With my ancient Photoshop 6.0, photos printed fine in black & white on 20lb bond paper using my HP LaserJet 2100TN.  With PSE 10 my jpg & gif photos are printing in lrg pixels similar to a newspaper comic rather than normally.  I can't figure out what settings need to be changed.  Any ideas out there?
The color photo is the actual jpg, and the blk & wht is a photo I just took of how it printed.
    Thanks in advance!!

I still have my ancient Photoshop  6.0.1 copyright 1989-2001 installed, and when I use it, it prints o.k. (well, not beautiful, but looks like a photo ).  If I print through windows it's o.k. too, it's just PSE 10 that it's pixellated like that, which is why I think it must have something to do with PSE 10.  The black & white photo above that shows the pixels, is actually a photograph that I took of the printout.  What I did with the one below is to print it on paper, scan the printout to PDF, then opened the PDF in PSE10 and saved it as JPG then uploaded it here. so it is more "true"

  • Printing 4x6 Photos in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.0

Some time ago, I thought I downloaded a fix to this program to allow three 4x6 photographs to be printed on one page. I can't find this subject again. The problem is that although the Print Preview shows three 4x6 prints on a page, it actually prints only two to the first page and then kicks the third one to a second page. This is in the individual prints layout. The Page Setup will not allow me to change any margins, and it makes no difference whether "Crop to Match" is selected. Does anyone have any information on how to get three 4x6 photos to print to a page? Thank you.

    Hello, Jim--
Thank you for trying to help me! I discovered that I just couldn't do anything to make this work on my Lexmark printer, even with margin considerations. We just bought a new HP printer that we're still experimenting with, and my three 4x6 photo format comes out perfectly on that. So, it's out with the Lexmark, in with the HP! Thanks again for your response. I appreciate it.

  • Can't center 4x6 photos

I have tried what seems like everything, but still can't get a 4x6 photo to print properly in PSE9 with HP Photosmart 7510 printer.  Have installed latest drivers, tried border and borderless, tried 4x6 and 4x6 tab paper selections.  Three sides have a normal border, but 1 side has a larger border.  I have no problem when printing 5x7 photos.  Borders are perfect.

I cannot print photos. I have 4x6 Kodak Ultra Premium paper. I have a new HP Photosmart C5280 printer with a photo tray. The tray seems only accessible from a camera memory card and my photos are on my computer. In Adobe or the HP Photo programs the same menu comes up and I have gone through all the choices. None will print. Error message keeps repeating "wrong paper size."

  • PHOTOS ARE YELLOW

My photos are printing with a yellow tint to them.  Not even close to the actual picture colors.  Tried new ink cartridges of course, no difference.  I'm using HP Premium Plus photo paper, but it's the same with other photo papers.  I have had way better quality with lesser and older HP printers, something is not right.  This is a new printer and it's been like this from day one.

  • Can not get photos to print well on a Epson Artisan printer after OS X Yosemite

I have a Epson Artisan 730 Printer. After upgrading to OS X Yosemite all photos are printing poorly.  Color is very red based and unreadable. I have upgraded the latest printer firmware. I have upgraded Printer drivers (not sure of the version). I have uninstalled and installed printers several times.  Epson website implies they are committed to provided the latest support and drivers but does not say there is a problem.  This all started after Yosemite.  This is a problem printing from photoshop or printing a JPEG from preview or iPhoto.
I have completed the latest firmware (epson16787) and combined with Printer drivers (2.19) which has resolved the problem.  I am posting this to lend help to other having the same issue.

There is definitely something wrong, but I couldn't tell you if it's your phone or your computer. I'm on 1.1.1 too and my phone still appears as a device in XP and behaves as it always has.
I can't recommend doing something Apple doesn't want you to do, *but if you are willing (as a last resort)* there is a way to access the file system directly and download the photo files in a way that is similar to how you would from an FTP site with FTP software.
It would require you to go to the site that puts installer on your phone. Once that is done install "open ssh" (to be able to connect to your phone and install "services" (to disable and re-enable ssh as needed for security purposes). Then use a program like winscp (works like other ftp programs but allows different types of connections - in this case an scp connection) to connect to your phone. The camera role is located in: \var\root\media\DCIM\100APPLE\. From there you can copy them to any location on your PC.
If you phone is showing up as empty when you connect it to your computer then there might be something wrong with the area the photos are stored in, or maybe it's too full. I don't know what the limit is or if there is a limit. Just bouncing around some ideas.
