5.0.1 update won't let my iphone restore

I installed the iphone update and all went well until I came to the part where it asked me to restore my iphone.
I have tried to restore my iphone 9 times now. here is what I have tried:
1. disable antivirus software
2. restart pc - numerous times
3. restart itunes
4. restart iphone
5. checked to make sure I have latest update from itunes
6. checked to make sure I have latest updates from windows
7. clicked restore on a file I found in the trash that read 5.0.1
I don't know what else to try. Please help

If you have another computer plug the ipod in and start itunes. On the left hand side you should see something that says (name's) itouch. Right click on that and you will see transfer purchases. What a little while for them to transfer. When its done double left click in (name's) itouch and you should see restore ipod. Wait a little while and the passcode lock will be off and the ipod will be in its original settings. Just transfer all the apps back on. Be careful next time.

I've always had the ability to restrict the iTunes store, and anything else I needed to restrict. I'm not a religous nut, I just don't want my kids looking at some of that stuff. I'm really disappointed with this feature. If anybody has any help I would appreciate it! Switching music to clean only blocks music, not album covers and artist pictures. I've always loved the parent friendly features of Apple. I hope they fix this soon! My family loves Apple, and I don't want to have to switch!

Hi. Yes I've looked all through restrictions and there is nothing that will block it. This is weird. Apple usually always thinks of this stuff. Usually they provide ways to both choose a parental level or block it from being used all together. I can't do either. On some of my devices I want to restrict what I'm seeing/hearing from iTunes radio but on some I want to block it all together. I've been all through restrictions and there is no option for either.

How are you?
Well, I have an iPod Classic, it gave me the error -1436 error and would not restore on iTunes.
I did the following:
My Boss (@work) has a fairly old iBook but it has OS-X, so I decided to give it a try and connected my iPod to it.
The system showed a window telling me that the disk is not MAC formated and needs to be validated prior further action. Snce it is a Mac product, I thought "yeah, go ahead".
It then opens the disk manager utility for the Mac and showed the disk. It's window has some tabs, one is to verify the disk, so I verified it. Guess what, it had some invalid clusters.
Then I formatted the iPod to OS-X Plus file system (next tab to the right). After formating the iPod, I "ejected" the iPod and reconnected to my PC. The Windows iTunes found an iPod with Mac file system and asked me to restore it. As I clicked on the "restore" button, I crossed my fingers as this was the last resource I have.
Finally, after the file extraction was done, it began to restore the iPod!!
I'm so happy about being able to restore the iPod that I decided to share with all you guys this solution as it is the most usefull, in my opinion.
Hope you can find someone with an iBook or a desktop Mac, so you can fix yours.

You might want to take a look at AirPort Utility 5.6 for Lion. It is very similar to the previous version of AirPort Utility.

Yes, you can have both 6.0 and 5.6 on your Mac and choose the one that you want to use. I think you may find that while 6.0 is fun to look at, 5.6 provides a lot more functionality.

The reason I asked why you needed to update the iPod as the usual reason for the update option to be "greyed out" and not selectable is because the iPod already has the current software installed.

I just updated my software to ios7. I have the iPhone 4s. However after I downloaded it, I realized that iMessage won't allow me to use my phone number, I went to settings & my phone number is listed as an option but it won't let me click on it, so when I try to send messages they are being sent from my email.

So I have this problem with my iPod Touch 4. The iTunes & USB symbol appeared on my screen after I tried to update my IOS 6 to a IOS 6.0.1.. And now my iPod won't turn on & I'm not even sure if it finished updating. What if I don't want to delete all my data but, I can't back-up it to my computer since it's already in this mode?

Try the followings. It may be that the iPod has to be erased to regains use of the iPod.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

I keep trying to install the trial version for flash professional. I keep getting that because Adobe updater is running it won't install... I uninstalled Updater and went to perferences but it still shows the same thing.

IPhoto 6.0.6 update won't let me burn DVDs correctly

I was backing up my photos to DVD today via iPhoto. I burned one disc before I did the 10.4.9 update and it worked fine. After I downloaded and installed the 10.4.9 & iPhoto updates I go to burn a disc and it says the Burn Failed. So, I put in the disc again. Mac OS X saw it was a blank DVD so I tried again. Still! - it won't burn!
So I try another blank DVD, and then another - each time the disc is inserted it's seen as a blank DVD. I don't understand it. It's the same brand I used before the 10.4.9 update & iPhoto and now suddenly Im having problems.
I'm guessing one of the updates (or both of them) changed something. Because now I can't backup my photos to a DVD. I tried repairing permissions and even restarting my iMac. Is anybody else having the same problem?
I am running Mac OS X 10.4.9 and iPhoto version: 6.0.6 (322)

Any help would be wonderful, I just need to burn the last disc to complete my iPhoto backup.

Ok big update. I burned another album using iPhoto and it worked fine. Seems that this problem is not isolated to burning discs, it's isolated to copying these files all together. Something is fishy and I have no idea what's wrong.
I attempted to copy all of the 4,000 (from the album I wanted to burn originally) or so photos to my external Hard Drive. It was about to copy them when I get an error message saying "IM000914_1.JPG" is busy. That's it - it doesn't give me any options, but "OK" I click OK and the process stops. So I remove the file in question. I go to copy the photos again, bam! Another problem with a different file name. I can't understand what's going on. So at this point I re-built the Library and Thumbnail caches again. I try it again - same problem.
The similarities between the files are interesting. All were taken around 2004 and were transfered from my old iBook a while ago. They usually have a filter or were modified from the original. And all of the file names end with an underscore and a number, for example "_1.jpg" or "_2.jpg". There are no other programs that are using these file so this puzzles me why they would be in use.
If I try and copy the individual file that's "busy" it will copy fine. But if I select it as a group and try and copy, it gives me an error message and fails to copy. I wish there was a way to locate which out of the 4,000 + files are bad, but the album I have is mixed with photos from 2004 to 2005. It would be impossible to locate all of them by hand. I'm thinking maybe if I can somehow copy the files from the select album via FireWire Target disk mode maybe the files wouldn't be "In use" - but I can't think of a way to select all of the photos in the album out of iPhoto.
I'm confused and frustrated with this one, any help would be great.
The exact error message reads "The selected items cannot all be put into the same location, because at least one of them named "<filename>" is busy. [OK]

Software update won't let go of "iDVD Extra Content"

After update to 7.1.2, every time Software Update runs I see a half gig for this item. I installed it the first time. Still crops up. I tried ignoring it with that Software Update capability. Still crops up next time. Not listed in Apple Downloads and can't find any info on the web.
Anyone have this experience? Anyone know how to get it to stop bothering me?

Download and reapply the iDVD 7.1.2 and see if that won't stop that message.

Outlook is not an Apple product. You should be contacting Microsoft for Mac Support for help w/their product.

7.0.2 update - won't let me use my 3g in apple related apps

since i updated to IOS 7.0.2 - I can't use it to login in any apple related apps or download in appstore...
what should i do?
Settings are correct - all are on Itunes and appstore 3G on and data... tried resetting and tried Restore. still now good.

Tap your ID
Tap View Apple ID
Enter your password
Go to country/region in the popup window to change the store

10.4.7 update won't let g5 boot past spinning wheel

I was asked to migrate this to a new post:
My 10.4.7 update made my g5 dual 2.0 unhappy-spinning wheel and shut down syndrome.
Things i did:
-Booted from disk,repaired permissions and volumes(it was OK anyway)
deep-cleaned cache using COCKTAIL
-reinstalled 10.4.7 again
-pulled the power cord(PMU reset)Why? Because the PMU always bricks this machine
-Zaped PRAM(why I dunno, it works sometimes...)
-Selected Harddrive as start up disk and rebooted
-unplugged all peripherals
-after 1 minute, same problem!
The only thing that works is to hold the OPTION KEY down and select the harddrive as the boot drive. So the computer is now totally confused it seems. It's a pain to do, but I can get it running. Everytime though??
I feel sorry for the average Joe Blow that gets an auto-update that bricks their machine.
What's next-I did this:http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/repairprocess.html and there aren't any bad sectors.

10.4.6 did have a VPN software installed though. It doesn't start the application on boot though-would this affect it?

Do this. If you can - get into the prompt at boot. if not you can run the command from within OS X's terminal.
1. Hold Down Apple+S to get to the shell
2. Do an FSCK - f
3. Once that is complete type in this command: (you need to know the label name on your disk...
sudo bless -folder '/volumes/yourdrivename/system/library/coreservices' -setOF
You have to type it in exactly as it is above. this will "bless" the drive and should fix it..I've had this same problem many times..This usually fixes it.
You can also run this command from the terminal and you dont need to be logged in as root.

Software updater won't let me update to E71 to new...

Hi, I have an E71 with firmware v300.21.012, I went to the Nokia software update page which told me the newest firmware release is 410.21.010, I downloaded the most recent ovi suite including software updater as per the instructions here. I ran the downloaded file, it installed the newest version of ovi suite successfully, however when I open ovi and go to update it tells me I have the newest firmware version for my phone - no firmware upgrades are available.
I went to the Can I update page, put in my phone's version code, and verified that the latest version for my model is 410.xxx...
Any suggestions?
