5.0 free reader download
I need help. My computer crashed and I lost everything. I'm trying to re-download everything. I have a Compaq with Windows 98 2nd Edition. I THINK I had Adobe 5.0, but can't remember for sure. I installed it when my computer was new back in 2000 and since then I haven't paid any attention to that info - just taken it for granted that it was there when I needed it.
I can't afford to update my computer or spend money. My husband and I are on a fixed income ( he is retired and I work part time)so I was hoping to be able to patch everything back together.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm not very knowledgeable about the computer, but do understand the basics.
If I'm not at the right forum, then I apologize.

To clarify, if you have an older machine there are options to download prior versions of Reader if required. For instance, AR6 is the newest version that is certified for Windows 98. For further help on Reader, you should check with the Reader forum which has a link at the top of this forum.

I'm adding some PDF files to my website for download, and I need to find the code that I can add to my website that will allow users to download the free Reader if they don't already have it. Can someone point me to that, please?

I see that it's actually just the image, and there's no code... you just hyperlink the image yourself. Long time ago there used to be some HTML code that came along, and did the link for you as a reference or something. I'm set now... thanks. -
Downloading a free Reader without disrupting Acrobat Pro
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro which i LOVE and use daily.. However, one website i also use everyday requires Adobe Reader plug in to operate correctly. When i downloaded this free Reader a year ago or so, it completely took over and disabled by Acrobat Pro, requiring a long process over the phone to get rid of the Reader and re-install my Pro.. has anything changed so that i can download the free Reader plug-in without it touching my Acrobat Pro?
It is not a public site. One needs to be registered in a particular project to download their pdf, complete the required information and reupload it.. I did not mention that this only happens from my MAC.. i can operate the system just fine on a PC. however, teh PC is old and i use it for nothing else but to access this site.. i would rather be using my MAC.. i cannot tell you what they have done ... but this was the "workaround" they developed for MAC users.. i will try it again, will you be willing to give me your phone number to call in case the same thing happens this time i try to download Reader and it disrupts my Acrobat Pro??????

The free Reader is free, so you shouldn't be charged anything for downloading it.

In trying to download the free Reader 10, be it through my dongle or a direct internet line, I am getting "download timeout" between 40-60% of download. Does anyone have a suggestion? Is there such a thing as a free disk to download? Thanks.

How can i get a free digital download for the Logic express 9 DVD version
I recently bought an new Imac. There is no dvd player. What gets me frustrated is that i own almost all Apple products, but i can't seem to get my DVD version of Logic Express on my new imac. I tried to share the dvd drive of my macbook pro, but that doesnot work with copy protected software. So i can't install from that external dvd drive.
So now i have a:
Iphone
Ipad mini
Macbook pro
Imac
and ik can't use my officially purchased version of Logic. Microsoft offers a free digital download for registered version of Office for Mac. Is er there also a free digital download for Logic Express? Anybody?
If there is not, i feel ripped off.

iOS is the operating system for iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad. Your Mac runs on OS X. You have installed OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite.
I have the most recent version of the Kindle app for Mac from the Mac App Store (MAS) v. 1.10.6 and it works fine. Look again in the MAS for the Kindle app, does it say Get or Open on the button?
Are you confusing Kindle for Mac with Kindle for iOS. The iOS version won't run on your Mac. -
Today (1/11/13) I found an online book, a .pdf file ( a math book from the Univ. of MI) that is advertised as free and downloadable. However, when in Safari I click on File/Save As, the window that opens has the Save button grayed out. The window opens with "Export as ..., and the name of the pdf file appears in the export window.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!Update: changed the AppleScript to add a one second delay between entering the file name and hitting return in the save dialog. Seems to be working now. I guess hitting save so quickly after the dialog popped up was fubaring things. Still wonder why...

Why is my free audio download, that I purchased earlier this year/late last year, not showing in my itunes library and/or my icloud?
I don't want to change all my computer's visuals just because firefox has a bug in it! The Menu bar is rendered faintly and this is a bad idea. At least give me the choice . . . see image below. I have vista running ffox 4 and none of the fancy settings can fix this. Also I want transparency on! Most programs work properly. They don't force me to adhere to some idiot programers whims, likes or dislikes.
Of course ranting this way will get me nowhere . . . such is life. -

That's grade A stupid. No current Adobe app will function other than on its original install location due to the many auxilairay components and of course the licensing system being required. If it asks you dfor a serial from there or even refuses to launch, you realyl mustn't wonder. if it was installed properly on a internal drive and still triggers the warning, you may have another Adobe product interfering and you may need to reset the licensing database and all that. stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.
