5.1 Audio with 3 jacks: How to config this ?

Good evening everybody,
I'm having since short a 5.1audio set, a logitech x540. I love this set, not too priced for a 5.1set. I'm coming from some crappy cheap trust 2.1set, so this is a big improvement.
But now the problem: my set needs to be connected to my motherboard with those '3 jack cables', because it's not having a coax cable. (normal for a budget set). But my motherboard has got only those 3 'normal' jacks. But not a big problem, i found the following in my motherboard guide:
Light Blue : Surround
Lime : Front Speaker Out
Pink : Center/bass
So hardware seen it isn't a problem to use those jacks . So i connected them like told in my motherboard manual. But now i don't get them working under linux. I don't know how to config it. I'm having the following audio card:

I'm using alsa, so i've searched in alsamixer, but i didn't find anything usefull there. Anybody who can help me with this pls ?

I have a very cheap C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6 6-channel sound card connected by three jacks to Logitech 5.1 speakers. I also have a headset for Skype connected to the onboard sound.
Here's what I know:
1) To always get the sound card module to load before the onboard sound module, I have added snd_cmipci to my "modules" list in /etc/rc.conf. This means the cmi card is always card 0, the module for the onboard sound gets loaded automatically later.

3) To allow amarok to play each speaker individually using a 6 channel DTS .wav file I added the following to my ~.xine/config

I have a 2ghz intel core 2 duo mac mini and a LG FA-3000 that i love.

The thing is that i've been reading that the TOSlink cable or something will do the trick, the problem is that the optical input on my home theather is being used by my PS3 and the Mini doesn't have a coaxial output so that doesn't work hehehhe.
Can i make it work with a headphone jack?

The Plex app can output 5.1 audio, but your mac will downmix back to 2-channel when you have headphones (or any other 2-channel device) connected. Open the Audio MIDI Setup app on your mac to see your current sound output config - this is probably also required once you get digital audio working.
One idea - you could take the Toslink and DVI connections from the back of your mac into a DVI/Digital-Audio to HDMI converter box, then take the HDMI cable into your A/V setup (TV, etc). You still need the mini-Toslink to Toslink cable to connect to your headphone/optical jack on the mini, of course.
Good luck! I ran an older mini with DVI and Toslink in my home theater for years with Plex, worked great once I got everything dialed in.

Please copy TNSNAMES.ORA file from your Database Home/NETWORK/ADMIN directory and copy that in NETWORK/ADMIN directory where you installed Forms/Reports 6i. then you can connect to your server by using SID as host string like: system/manager@<SID example: ORCL>

T61p with Windows XP - how to change this from 32 bit to 64 bit?

Well, if you have Windows XP 64, then it's a matter of making a choice of running both side-by-side or dumping one for the other. If you don't have 64-bit, then you'll need to procure yourself the 64-bit version of the OS. It's not a matter of simply "activating" something, or installing a patch of some sort.
The 64-bit version uses a different set of core files that are incompatible with the 32-bit XP altogether, it's not a simple upgrade as all the drivers will require re-installation as well (applies not only to the OS, but to all peripherals that you have as well).

Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.

'fn' key shows desktop (not in combination with f11). How to turn this off?

iMac 21.5-inch, Late 2012
OS X Yosemite 10.10.2
Whenever I press the 'fn' key (standalone) key it shows my desktop, which it makes it difficult for me to use this key in combination with the f1-f12 keys. I had a similar issue on my Macbook Air, which was resolved by changing my keyboard to the correct input source and double checking that no shortcuts had been installed for the keyboard. When I realised that my iMac had the same problem I went through the same steps but nothing changed this time.
I've restored all shortcuts to default and made sure that my keyboard input source is one that matches my wireless keyboard.
Any ideas on how to stop the 'fn' standalone key from showing my desktop?

I want all the music on my iphone in itunes, also with "times played" how to do this?

Can I make the assumption that you have synced your phone to another iTunes library? This is the type of action you would see then. The phone is designed to only sync to a single library. The only other action that would create this is if you originally had the phone set to manage music manually and then changed it to sync music.
If you select to sync to the library on the computer, it will erase the music on the phone and replace it with the music on the computer iTunes library.

I can no longer connect to work (SConnect not compatible) with Gemalto key, how to fix this?

Before the Firefox upgrade 4 and then 5 I could access my work email using a gemalto key. Now I cannot it says the SConnect not compatible. I need to fix this or leave Firefox so I can access work from home.

Check your firewall and make sure it is not blocking Thunderbird.
Connecting with web mail just verifies that you know your username and password. Web mail and SMTP are completely different servers and operations.

CRM 2013: Iframe does not display the url set in onform load event with setSrc. How to make this work?

I have a situation we need to display a url in Iframe when a form is loading. the url is set in code with setSrc, or updated the query string value. this worked in crm 2004 not any more in 2013. MSDN states the below to avoid in OnLoad event. what
is the best way to handle this situation? Searched web people recommend using setInterval which i dont want to use.

Previously when using Firefox 3.6 I could have multiple tabs open and when I closed the browser, the next time I opened Firefox it would reopen the same tabs.

Title with incremental number -- how to approach this when editing in Premiere CS4

Ok, I'm not sure if this is possible, but here is what I would like to accomplish:
I've recorded a Tour in Google Earth Pro - you know the camera 'flying' from placemark to placemark. I've measured the amount of kilometers between placemarks. What I would like to do is to display a title/number in the left top of the screen in Premiere which displays the number of KMs traveled, incrementing when the camera flies. I need dynamic text that increments e.g. from 0 to 2000 KMs from frame 1 to 500. I'm not sure which approach is best to accomplish this, and if it can be accomplished inside of Adobe Premiere. How to share audio with other members of a meeting?

I want to share a video with my class but my student cannot hear the video since they only receive audio from my mic. I was wondering if there is a way I can share what I am hearing. If someone can provide me with instruction on how to do this I will highly appreciate it. I'm using adobe connect.

Are you trying to share a video in the Share pod or via Screen sharing?
Screen sharing only shares the image of your screen (or application), not the audio. Additionally most videos run at 24-30 FPS (frames per second), while screen sharing runs at 3-5 FPS. So a large amount of the visual information being displayed by your video is lost. If this is what you are doing, I'd recommend that you get an FLV or MP4 version of the video you are sharing and upload that directly to the Share pod. The playback will be sync'd among all attendees and the audio will come through their computer speakers.

Inspire T6060 - sound from all satellati with 1 jack

i had an old cambridge 4. sitem ad it has 2 jack a green one and a black one, if you plug just jack it is possible to hear music from all the speackers

Headphone jacks are only good for so many in and out usages. Usually its the headphone jack itsefl that goes bad first but sometimes it is the internal part. If you are lucky you can clean out the inside and get it to work.
These devices are not made to last for someone who actually has those headphones around there neck and acually uses there listening devices through out the day plugging it in and out. This is not in any way an Apple thing, it is a problem with many devices. The male ends tend to get dirty hanging around then scratch the female end when used. In fact, using higher end headphones you can really notice even the smallest particles of dust on the male end of plug when used, that is the small popping you might notice when the cord moves.
Hopefully its a problem on the male side of things.
I would recommend a person that wants to use headphones alot to keep a small 2 inch extension plugged into there device that can be replaced when it goes bad inplace of wearing out the original plug.
Again, this is not an Apple problem alone.
