Today we’re releasing Skype 5.6 for iPhone, which brings optimized, scaled UI to the larger iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ screen sizes. On an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6+, Skype 5.6 displays more of your recent chats and shows more messages in conversation view, helping you to communicate with your friends and family quickly and simply. Skype 5.6 for iPhone is our second release that continues to build on the new iOS 8 extensions. Additionally this version is shipping some ideas that were requested here on the Skype community:
Presence indicators are now displayed in the "recent” list
Number of contacts and time zones are now shown on contact profiles 
Individual conversations can be marked as read/unread: Use long press on a recent conversation entry for that option
Notification sounds are disabled in "Do not disturb” mode

For security, they all require the caller to enter a "conference ID" number after the call is answered, before the caller is connected to the conference. I have been using these sites for years with the desktop versions of Skype (Mac, Windows, and Linux), and on my Android phone. All that is required is to initiate a call to the appropriate Skype ID for the conferencing service, bring up a dial pad in the Skype user interface, and use it to enter the conference ID number when asked.
But when I got my new iPhone and tried to do the same thing, there was no way to bring up a dial pad in the latest version of Skype for iOS - WHILE IN A CALL TO A SKYPE ID.
Strangely, it IS possible to bring up a dial pad while in a call on the same version of Skype for iOS, but ONLY if that call is to a telephone number, rather than to a Skype ID. This state of affairs is totally bizarre, unexpected, and dysfunctional.
PLEASE fix the iOS version of Skype so it is possible (and convenient) to bring up a dial pad so that key presses can be sent during ANY call, as it is possible on all other versions of Skype for other platforms.
Here is a list of the previous posts on the Skype for IOS forum that have raised the same issue, about the lack of access to a dial pad while in an established Skype-to-Skype call. They go back through several prior versions of Skype for IOS. Only one has gotten a response that was supposed to be helpful, but that response was off the mark, because it pointed to a help article about how to use a dial pad to place a call, which is not what this issue is about.
Here are links to all of the relevant postings that I have found. They show that this is not an isolated or new problem. A lot of Skype users need this issue to be resolved.

To turn each of the "links" below into a valid URL, append the above string [without the stars] to the front of it. I couldn't get this to work any other way in the Rich Text posting tool. It kept telling me to "Please enter a valid URL", so I'm trying to make it look like these aren't supposed to be URLs at all ... sorry ....)
