5.9.901 Droid Bionic Update

I want to be pushed that update for Bionic sw 5.9.901.  My local Verizon Store said that I should receive it. Is there anyway i can be pushed that update

Barry,
Here's what's really going on.
The 901 update was leaked out over a month ago. It fixes a lot of
problems, I'm running it now,
however I will still get random drops of data. It will hand off to 3g
better and recover better but
there are still issues.
There is a soak test of an update coming out this Friday. It will be
tested over the weekend and if
all goes well the masses will see it starting Monday. We do not know if
it will indeed be the 901
that was leaked or a more updated version of it. There truly is an
update coming out in the
next week though and hopefully it will solve more of the issues this
phone suffers from.

  • Droid Bionic 4.04 update.  SMS no longer works and other issues

Performed the 4.04 update yesterday (Made my phone at a ridiculously hot temperature and drained my battery from 90% to 5% within 1:30 , great thing to start downloading without a prompt).  Ever since the update my text messages will not load at all.  I have tried with the default application as well as Handscent SMS.  The default text messaging application will just continue to show that it is "loading" and with an apple style while circle, while handscent will just have a black screen then crash after awhile.  If I receive an incoming text message it does not show at all.  (Handscent will normally create a popup message).
Also when I turn the screen on from being asleep, sometimes the touch screen will not work, I will either need to wait a few minutes to turn the screen off then on  again or restart the phone entirely.
Anyone know a work around where I would not have to reinstall the OS again?
Please let me know if you guys need any more information.

Give this a try Guys it should help some b33
Here is How you Clear the system Cache on the Bionic : Do as Follows
Step 1: power your bionic down
Step 2: hold volume up, down, and power simultaneously
Step 3: use the volume down to navigate to "recovery," use volume up to select
Step 4: you will get a screen with a triangle with an exclamation point, next to an Android. Press volume up and down simultaneously
Step 5: use the volume rocker to navigate to "wipe cache" and use the power button to select.
Step 6: after it has finished, use the volume rocker to navigate to "reboot system now" and use the power button to select.

Soft Reset - DROID BIONIC by Motorola
A soft reset is the most useful tool for resolving a variety of issues. In most cases, a soft reset will not affect data on the device, unless the battery is very low.
If the device doesn't respond to input, remove then re-insert the battery.
Press and hold the Power button.
    Select Power off.
Press and hold the Power button to power the device on.

  • Still waiting for Droid Bionic ICS update

Should I be worried if I still haven't received it yet?  I always seem to get these things late. I am not even sure I received the update from the summer at all.

I'm having the same problem. It keeps saying there's no update available whereas others already updated their phones. I went on Verizon website and it says update coming soon. I was a little confused.

  • Droid Bionic the most expensive Brick I've ever purchased

I just want to know when in November this update is going to happen.
This is almost worse than the gingerbread nightmare. I had a Droid2 which worked up until the Gingerbread update, then I purchase a "not-ready-for-primetime" Droid Bionic.
It took 6 months for my Xoom to become 4G, this when they said it would only be 90 days.
How long will I have to wait for my Bionic to do anything.
It's so bad that the fix to turn on airplane mode doesn't work now and half the time the phone doesn't even recognize it IS in airplane mode.
This has been this biggest Mongolian cluster ******** of a phone launch. God help those who upgrade to the RAZR with a battery that can't be removed.
I called to complain and received a refund on one month's data, but really why should I have to call on a phone that should work out of the box.
I love the phone I just want it to do what it's supposed to..
So again I ask, When can we expect the update VERIZON???
I'm just tired of the blame game, Verizon blames MOTO and then we find out some of the issues are because VERIZON wanted specific "proprietary mods" to the system...
    Please update the phone soon..

It's not going to be in the beginning like they said. It has been pushed back toward the end of November now, probably just to get pushed back again. With the Razr out (which is what Verizon is focusing on), do you think we will get the update quickly? No. We should've had it by now. In fact, we shouldn't need an update period. I'm doing playing around with customer service and not getting a solution I'm happy with. I've emailed executive relations and am hoping for a response but I'm not sure if I will get one, I left a message for someone on Wednesday and haven't heard back. I want this phone returned, period. I've got introuble twice with work now because my phone did not recieve some important calls and I almost gave my mother a heart attack (I ALWAYS pick up for her and one night she called and called and called and my phone never rang once, few hours later I notice I had a few voicemails). Customer service isn't even sending out replacements anymore. They admitted to the Bionic plague and that every phone has the same issue.
Like you, the "airplane mode fix" doesn't even work for me. I have to pop the battery and even then it doesn't always work.
I'm almost tempted to copy and paste the email I sent because Ive had a crap shoot with this phone. What really ticked me off is the fact that I was conned into getting a "free" accessory when I could've got $50 off the phone. Who wants a battery dock with two batteries. I dont want to sit there and have to switch batteries once a day.
I want to quote a Verizon executive relations rep from two years ago when I was following the Omnia 2, someone had inquired about release dates.
    Good morning Mr. X,
We are in receipt of your correspondence to Mr. Lowell McAdam concerning the release of the Samsung Omnia II.  We appreciate your enthusiasm and anticipation of the release of the new device.
While we are aware you are anxiously awaiting the launch, at this time, we cannot provide a definitive date for the release.   We do not like to set false expectations about a release date and then have to push it back, and instead only announce a release date when we get closer to the actual release.  Verizon Wireless has a responsibility to our customers and prior to the release of any device; we want to ensure the device passes our standards.  That includes superior performance on our network, our staff is fully trained, and inventory is available to meet the needs of our customers.  We'd rather wait to get the product right rather than rush out a product that causes problems.  Please check our website periodically for a news release about upcoming phone announcements.
Thank you for your feedback.  We value your opinion as well as your business.
    Sincerely,
    NE Area Executive Relations
Take note of what I bolded and underlined. Either Verizon changed their "responsibilities" in the past couple years, or they just aren't doing their job.
Will keep you guys updated. Hopefully I'll finally be able to get another phone that actually has the service that I've been paying for. I will say though if I do not hear back from the last executive relations rep I emailed, I'm filing a complaint with the FCC, the attorney general, and filing a dispute on my credit card. Maybe I won't get a new phone but with my last step I'll at least not have paid for a worthless phone.

  • What to choose? And what to do with Droid Bionic?

So now that we all know Verizon is getting the top 3 phones for the holiday season i am wondering what phone of the 3 would you go for. HTC Rezound, Droid Razr, Samsung Nexus.
The reason I ask is  that I have a Droid Bionic and although I have not experienced any of the problems that most people complaint about. I have had some apps disappeared. And sometimes I have to connect to my works WIFI to get data even though I have full blown LTE coverage in my area. I don't want my bionic anymore so I will put it up for sale and get the HTC Rezound.

In exchange for the slimmer form factor of the Razr vs your Bionic, you wil be getting a sealed battery that cannot be replaced, cannot be swapped for a heavy duty battery and cannot be rebooted by pulling the battery as may sometimes be required.
I'm also not sure why you think the phones you mentioned won't have as many, if not more issues than your Bionic. The last Samsung I had was the Charge and that was an unequivical disaster. No more Sammys for me.
All of the 4G phones have the connection issue to one degree or another. That won't change until Verizon does something with their 4G network.
My advice? Stick with your Bionic.
Some combination of the volume/power buttons will probably serve the same purpose as a battery pull on the Razr.  Like you said, the sealed battery is probably a bad idea with the inefficiency of current LTE devices.  Still not a fan of blur either but it seems to be getting better.
As for the Nexus, don't let the image of previous Samsung devices sway you.  Software is Samsung's main weak point but that has been removed from the equation as Google will be providing the update.  No bloat or manufacturer skin to way it down.  It'll be the first ICS phone so it'll likely have its own list of bugs and quirks but what phone doesn't. No SD card is really the only downside I can see and that's all a matter of personal preference.
The Rezound is pretty much a Thunderbolt on steroids.  It'll be a good device but will suffer from the same battery issues as previous HTC phones since they keep trying to put the smallest battery possible in it.  Almost twice the thickness of the Razr and they still can't keep up with battery capacity.  Plus it may be "ICS ready" but it'll probably be months before anyone actually sees it.
Very informative post. Are tou saying the Nexus will not have a microSD card included?

  • Droid Bionic will not turn on (Searched the internet for answers, nothing)

Currently, my Droid Bionic will not charge/power on. If I plug I connect it to the wall charger, nothing. If I plug it to my computer, nothing. If I bypass the USB port and use a stripped USB cable directly to the battery while it's in the phone, it turns on, but doesn't charge (Let it sit for hours turned off, then pull the cable, and no power). I've done these methods with numerous cables to include the OEM cable/charger and other branded cables/chargers and I get nothing. I can get the white light to come on with any cable and charger if I have the USB cable in slightly, but it doesn't charge or turn on when left for hours. I've tried with numerous batteries both from friends and new, same story....nothing. The only thing to get the phone on is by bypassing the usb port on the phone and directly wiring the usb cable to the battery while in the phone.
    Oh and......
For a loooooooong time now, I have been researching the internet searching for answers to my issue....and nothing has worked. The phone is relatively new. bought it in May 2012 and have been experiencing this problem since June 2012. It's December 2012 now, so yea...a long time.

I am having the same issue since last night (although i have not yet tried stripping a USB cable and connecting directly to the battery while in the phone) where the phone will not boot at all with any combination of SIM card, SD card, USB charger/computer, etc.
I did come across one solution online though that you might try. One person said they had the same issue, however it was a bad SD card that was shorting out his battery and instantly draining it (he tried multiple fully charged brand new batteries with same issue).
I would suggest removing the SD card to see if thats the problem. If not then i'd be interested to see if you do find a solution. Mine was buggy ever since the last update and finally died completely last night. I'll be going in for a replacement today.
    Hope this helps

  • Droid bionic freezes pc when unplugging

OK i just got  the new droid bionic. i used my PC to put my ringtones on it and when i disconnected it my PC froze so i had to force it to shut down. this has happened every time i unplug it from my PC. i have restarted my PC, updated the drivers , and changed the USB settings on the phone. I have searched  many forums and none have mentioned this problem.please if someone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated

Are you just unplugging it or are you clicking on the usb symbol and removing the usb the safe way. If you are just unplugging it, this may be your problem. There is a right way and a wrong way to disconnect any usb from your computer. Check your particular computer for the correct way.

  • Jelly Bean and the Droid Bionic

Does anyone know if the problem with Jelly Bean for the Droid Bionic was fixed?
Also, is the Droid Bionic worth it? I can find it on Ebay or Amazon for around $70. I managed to kill my Razr and have no upgrade until May 2014 . Hoping the Droid Bionic is a nice cheap substitute, because the HTC Incredible smartphone I'm currently using is on it's last legs.

Yes, I know a lot of people have posted about issues with Bionics.  There were people complaining about the Bionic before it was released, after it was released, and after the ICS update as well.  You should have seen the folks that wanted to go back to Gingerbread after the ICS update because the new update "messed up their phone".
I'm not saying that folks aren't having problems, but it's not just the Bionic and it's not just Jelly Bean.  I'd say that you'll see more comments about issues because most people that aren't having issues rarely post that they aren't having issues.
Some of the issues can be corrected or at least reduced by doing a system cache clear or a factory reset.  In fact, if you do decide to buy that Bionic, that would be my suggestion ... once you get it, do a factory reset before you do anything else, even if the seller has already done one.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

  • Droid DNA vs Droid Bionic

I miss my Droid Bionic already. I've upgraded to the Droid DNA by HTC. I was worried about my move from Motorola to HTC and now I'm sure, the design of the Droid DNA is not worth the change. The non-replaceable, small battery is point one. No HDMI out is number two. The USB port on the bottom of the phone instead of the side is incredibly inconvenient, not to mention the phone does not do landscape while in the makeshift cradle I had to buy. Only 16GB of RAM with no SD or SDHC card slot is the clincher... Does Verizon want us to stream everything?  I will keep this phone, mostly because I promised my old Droid Bionic to a coworker, but I will forever be unhappy with it. VERIZON - Fix these issues in the next release!!! There is no reason this unit didn't at least have a card-slot and more memory. I've been with Verizon and Motorola for more than ten years. I can tell you all now, this may change in the future. When Sprint 4G hits my area then I will have options.
Yes, I did check out the specs on this phone before buying it, so I was ready. What I didn't expect is how much these issues would come to mean to me. I have very good eyesight so the gorgeous screen is a plus but if you can't use the phone as a clock, or personal sound system, because of no quick convenient stand like the Motorola brands, then it's an expensive and semi-useful paperweight on it's side.
So... for anyone thinking of buying a Droid DNA to replace their Motorola Droid I say WAIT! Hopefully Motorola/Google will get their act together and put out a decent phone. For me the increase in speed and the display was not worth the hassle of a complete paradigm shift.
If you have another HTC phone and your're used to it's specs, then go ahead and try it out!

Update... First, please forgive the grammar and spelling mistakes made in my previous post, it was made in haste.
Two more days and I'm frustrated beyond belief with this phone. I've now tried three cradles, and none of them are sufficient. I really want this thing to automatically switch into landscape and request a mode when placed on its side in a cradle. I've also desperately tried to find a small and convenient QI charger, there are none to be found. I can't stand my phone laying on its back where I can't see it. It's terribly inconvenient to be forced to pick up the phone to check every call and/or text message. Furthermore, a message to Verizon about bloat ware, JUST SAY NO! If I don't want games and NFL stuff on my phone, then I should at least be able to remove it. The only way these issues are going to be addressed is if the users, otherwise known as customers, start speaking out and let Verizon know what is, and is not, acceptable. I plan on becoming very active in these forums so my voice can be heard...

  • Droid Bionic takes a long time to start up

Anyone else besides me having a problem with the startup of there Droid Bionic. I timed my phone to see how long it takes to start up
and I am averaging about 2 minutes for startup...but it has sometimes taken as much as 3 minutes. Verizon told me months ago that, that is normal for 4G phones because it takes longer for the 4g "handshake" or connect with it's service. I believed it for a while but it just seemed so long so I tested against my other friends. One friend has a Galaxy Nexus 4G and we both started our phones at the same time...my friend's Nexus started in less than 30 seconds, mine took more than 2 minutes to start. My brother has a Droid 4 and he turned off and restarted his phone twice while I was still starting.
Any advice other than doing a factory reset, since I have done this already. I have .905 installed on my phone but this problem was happening before that.
    Thanks...

        HLLUGO,
Hi there! I understand your concern that the device takes a few minutes to power up completely. It really depends on what type of apps are on the phone and how it needs to connect to them initially. My Nexus takes about 2 minutes to power on, but a co-workers of mine takes even longer, so it varies. I wouldn't be too concerned about it unless you notice it taking more than 6-7 minutes to power up. Keep me posted!
    Thanks,

  • Droid Bionic text messages going to wrong people

I have had my Droid Bionic for several months now. It is not rooted and I don't download tons of apps on my phone. I don't use netflix to watch movies or download music. The apps I have are mainly to help me with work. So I'm not app happy just downloading things non stop. This is why I'm confused and irritated. My Bionic has started sending text messages to the wrong people! I had this issue with my Droid X which is why I switched to the Bionic, hoping that after all these years of making smart phones motorola, google and verizon would put a phone out there that actually works like it's supposed to. How much practice do these phone companies need to get their OS right? I don't mind paying a lot of money for something that will make my life a little easier but I get very irritated paying a lot of money for something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to...and at the most inappropriate times. The Bionic has gone from helping to adding to my daily hassles. Is anyone else having issues with text messages going to the wrong people on their Bionics? Have you found a way to fix it? I'm also getting error messages that just started about a week ago...com.motorola.main.service has stopped and then a option to forceclose. The tech support person at Verizon sounded like he had never seen a smart phone before and gave me the Verizon standard technical reply..."do a factory reset". I should not have to reset anything on a NEW Phone! Why don't you fix these problems Google, Motorola and Verizon and in a timely manner?! I know for a fact if I didn't pay for my phone as promised or pay my bill as promised I would suffer the consequences immediately! You cell phone companies are all about getting your money and leaving us customers out here hanging and irritated. If you think my feelings are misguided then feel free to prove me wrong. FIX THESE ISSUES AND FIX THEM IN A TIMELY MANNER! BETTER YET, PUT OUT A PRODUCT THAT WORKS AS PROMISED IN YOUR ADS! TRAIN YOUR TECHS TO ACTUALLY RESOLVE ISSUES INSTEAD OF RECITING THEIR FAVORITE MOTO "Do a factory reset"! When you do these 3 things I will not feel like someone who has been lied to, robbed, and irritated! I am usually a very positive person but after dealing with issues with 2 expensive phones I'm a little upset. Can anyone help me fix my phone?

Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

  • I have a Droid Bionice, my 1st Smart phone. An install kept coming up ,I did it and everything has changed. I don't knpw what to do...Help...smart phone...dumb person

I bought a Droid Bionic Smart Phone. I loved it so very much. When I was on it and install kept coming up, over & over. I Don't know what it was called but I did look and it didn't say Verizon anywhere but I assumed w/my Lookout security app it wouldn't let anything bad in. But I downloaded it now my icons are different and on my manage apps I use to have only maybe 20 settings now I have a bunch. and the lil icon looks like a blue square app w/the lil cog looking symbol in it. Everytime I try to delete one thinking it will go back to the way it was it says it will cause problems w/all other settings. And also after the icom it says com.motorola.android.deep it says that on about 20 or 25 after the icon.It won't let me disable  any of them.
The very 1st icon on my Apps on ,y Apps setting is the blue symbol that looks like a cog, and it has 32.00KB if I try to disable that because I figure it's the mother of all of them it says in a pop up...Disable built -in app-----If you disable a built in app, other apps may misbehave.? That doesn't sound very professional to me.One even says key chain for the app. I don't know what to do. I did look at it and I assumed when it popped up it was a legit thing. I didnt know you had to beware of something that was a pop up on the page.
I don't know if it's a Gingerbread or Ice Cream thing, I just know when I go to my settings it has overtaken 3/4th of my apps. And on most of them it doesny even offer me the chance or choice to disable it. Please somebody help me. I am so new to this. I loved my phone before now it's taken Over everything. I am scared if I run some of the things I see it says on my settings app it runs my phone,it says for instance:
    Permission
This App can access the following on your phone
    *YOUR LOCATION
    coarse (network-based) location,fine (GPS) location
    *SYSTEM TOOLS
    modify global system settings
    STORAGE
    SYNC SERVICE
I dont know what any of this is and it says if I stop of close any of it , it will cause the app to fail.
How can I tell what I have downloaded as far as this whole montrosity....SO I can study it and read up what to do. I do't want to lodr my pictures or my pictures on my gallery/ I am afraid I have really screwed it up good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I THANK ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP ME IN ADVANCE....

  • How can I add multiple contacts to a text message on a droid bionic

How can I add multiple contacts to a text message on a droid bionic?

    DH
I was thinking that if he wanted to create multiple keyframes he might be creating a repeated effect rather than manipulating values that are shot specific - like creating an oscillation or some repeated step effect.  If he was creating keyframes specific to his content he'd probably not look for a way to do it "quickly" since each keyframe would require manipulation of specific values.
So my thought was to generate the series of keyframes on a dummy clip created for this specific purpose, copy the clip, paste attributes (maybe turn off "Scale Attribute Times") and add bunches of keyframes at once.
Still, you're right, it's tough to divine the intent of someone very new to FCP.  His question could be based on a misunderstanding about the use of keyframes.

How do I get my contacts from Droid Bionic to iphone 4?

Centurion, congrats on your upgrade! I'm sure you'll enjoy the iPhone 4. There are several ways to transfer your contacts. First, are your contacts backed up to either Hotmail/Live or Google? If so, then you can setup that account as Microsoft Exchange account on your iPhone. For Hotmail/Live, http://bit.ly/14VLVIV. For Google, http://bit.ly/XzDaRC.
Let me know if you need further assistance, or have your contacts saved another way.
