5-day old iPad screen turns Pink & more

Hi,
I've just bought 2 iPads 3G, 64GB while on a trip to London, UK. I now came back to my country and one of the iPad just turned pink.
Because of the bulk, I discarded the iPad packaging/boxes before I flew back, and wonder if I can return the defective iPad without its box?!
Any thoughts on this is greatly welcomed!
(To be honest, I would expect a working product when it cost 700 GBP, and has an Apple logo...)
Cheers,
Z0A2010

As far as I'm aware the warranty is worldwide. Whilst in the Apple store in Regent Street here in London several times recently I've seen a lot of foreigners buying iPads which I doubt would be the case if the warranty was country specific. I think the only exception when it comes to Apple products is the iPhone which has a warranty only valid in the country of origin.

  • Ipad screen turned pink and blue

Please can someone help my Ipad screen turned blue and pink, i have tried resetting it but nothing happened. It also did it last week but we fixed it some how

Oh my gosh! I thought my iPad 2 was toast... Then I read your comment...I took it out of the case and whacked it twice on the back right at the Apple insignia and holy smokes it worked,  it's back to normal
    Thank you!!!

  • Scratch on my 4 day old iPad screen

    Hi guys,
I've somehow managed to get what I think is an inch long "U" shaped scratch on my 32GB iPad screen - 2 inches in from the back bezel; it may be a crack though - hard to tell. I've been incredibly careful with my new iPad (It's only 5 days old), I've been using a slip case and not even putting it down on tables without first putting something soft down for it to sit on.
Bit gutted really - Apple don't seem to sell screen protectors through Apple stores, and they had sold out of the official Apple case. Was told these things are basically scratch proof so pretty shocked to see such a deep scratch seemingly from no-where. I've had my current iPhone for about 18months with no case in my pocket with keys and coins and have nothing nearly as horrendous as this scratch on my iPad.
I've called Apple support and they told me that doesn't sound normal and have booked me into speak to a Genius this evening to check the device for defects.
Just wanted to ask if anyone else has had similar experience and if they had a resolution.
I've been having a pretty bad run of luck recently, so I thought I'd treat myself to a new toy - and it's been a fantastic device the past few days, but now worried that it's a little more fragile than people are being lead to expect, and that I'm going to pick up more damage before the device is even a month old...
Will report back after I talk to the guys at the Genius bar later tonight.

I learned my lesson, I slide my ipad only a couple inches on a wooden table and scratched the back side. If I were you I'd get a boxwave antiglare screen protector for the front. and a zaggs back protector for the back. I found this combination to be a really good way to keep your stuff protected. I really don't recommend using zaggs screen protector because its rubbery... it makes it difficult to swipe and stuff on the screen. BoxWave's is pretty smooth and really reduces on the glare/fingerprints.
    Good luck!

Assuming you mean that you performed the repair yourself, it would seem that you either obtained a defective screen or you did some sort of damage when you replaced the screen. You can try asking for assistance on ifixit.com, a site dedicate to those attempting their own repairs, or you can take the iPad to a shop and pay them to try to correct the problem for you. Apple will no longer touch your iPad now that you've attempted your own repairs.

  • IPad's screen turned pink and flashing

All of a sudden, my iPad's screen turned pink. Tried resetting but did not help. The screen is now red/pink-ish and flashing. I, of course, did not drop it or anything like that.
Is this a hardware problem? is it fixable by a user?

I just had mine replaced and it is betterr than the original.
    Holds the 3G signal better.
i bought one as soon as they came out, so there is probably a bit of a higher failure rate for the first models.
You are basically getting a new one and you have a year from the purchase to extend the warranty.
I would not give up my Ipad.
I look at laptops now and they seems like dinosaurs.

  • [Solved] AppleTV Screen turns pink during boot

I got my AppleTV and a Broadcom Crystal HD card, but everytime Arch boots the screen turns pink (...). It happens when it starts loading the modules (there's a flicker on the screen). I have tried all three nVidia drivers - the OSS nv and nouveau ones, and the proprietary one. Adding 'nomodeset' to the GRUB config doesn't help any (and I understood xf86-video-nv doesn't have KMS support at all anyway). I tried both the 190 and 173 series of the nVidia drivers. Since the AppleTV software works fine (and the atv-bootloader environment and Arch boot sequence until it starts loading kernel modules are the regular white on black), I think it is a driver problem. However, Google isn't telling me anything specific. I know the chip is a GeForce Go 7300.
    Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks. After taking the plunge once more - Ubuntu 9.10 netboot - I found out the pink hue disappears somehow... Don't ask what happened :-/. When I saw that I put Arch back on and behold, it works fine now . Maybe it was something HDMI-related.

After downloading an app, then later trying to open it again, the iPad screen turns green and nothing happens.  How can I fix this?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sifnout and sign back in
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I assume the iPad was dropped. It will need to be repaired or replaced.

The warranty will apply to the country of purchase. And if there is a problem needing repair you have to return it to the country of purchase.

  • My ipad screen turned green and pink

my ipad screen turd green and pink help me plssssss.
    i restart my ipad2 it dosen't work

    Hey jedivan27,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are having display issues with your iPad 2 and you have already attempted to restart it. To completely isolate the issue, let's try resetting your device as well:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If the issue persists after a reset, let’s see if we can isolate to software or hardware by backing up and restoring your device as new:
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
After erasing and setting up as a new device, your device is now in a factory configuration. Test to determine if erasing and setting up as a new device resolved the issue. Content on the device may have caused unexpected behavior.
If the issue is still present, you may want to contact Apple Support.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Ipad screen turned black in Safari.(only in Safari. other apps are working)

I was using Youtube through Safari. I clicked a video and made it full screen and then the screen turned black. It didn't show me the usual appearance of a video in Youtube.(the pause button, the progress of the video, etc) Although the games and the apps still work. I tried closing it first then opening it again. when i went back it still shows a black screen with the word Ipad and the time. Does anybody have ideas on how to put it back to its normal self? Please HELP!!!!

If this is happening using Safari it usually means that Safari has run out of internal Memory and crashes. One way to help Safari would be have as few tabs open as possible.
Note that the iPad 2 only has 512 MB of internal memory.
    The later iPads have more:
    iPad 3 - 1 GB
    iPad 4 - 1 GB
    iPad Air - 1 GB
    iPad Air 2 - 2 GB

  • After download of os 8.2 screen turned pink and blue and flickers

After downloading os 8.2 background screen turned to pink and blue and flickers.    resetting ipad2 does not solve problem.

    Hey there Harold499,
I understand that you are experiencing some issues with your iPad screen. I have an article for you that will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further:
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203039
Since you have already reset the iPad, I would recommend that you start by restoring the iPad, then proceed from there. Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • Screen turns pink and flickers

    Hi everyone,
    I've got a little problem:
My screen randomly turns pinks and then starts flickering and then a few moments later it stops for a few minutes and then begins the process again.  I have no idea how it began. I have a MacBook Pro 10.6.8.
It would be great if anyone knew how to solve this answer.
    With regards,

  • IMac 24" Screen Turned Pink

20 minutes ago I was sitting whiling away my time on my iMac when all of a sudden the top half of the screen went pink. It was instantaneous. I had been using the Mac for about 90 mins previous to this with no incident. It has rendered vidoes and photos unwatchable. I restarted with no difference.
It looks like something has gone seriously wrong with the graphics display. I have seen a similar thing once on a friend's laptop and was told it was related to a magnet being passed in front of the screen but there are no magnets in the room or anywhere near the iMac. Nor have there ever been. No other electronic device is on in the room apart from the speaker system which is on standby.
I'm pretty certain it is a hardware error and will need a repair. It is still only 7 months old. Any advice on how to proceed will be appreciated. As it is the Mac is close to unusable apart from being able to write text on it.
    Thanks in advance

Richard, If you seriously think that it is a hardware related issue, then the best thing for you to do is call the Apple Care number for your country and open a warranty claim. They will instruct you what to do and refer you to a repair facility.
