5 Devices for 1 iTunes account ?

I ordered a 11" MacBook Air and it is arriving anytime now. Now my main computer is my 13" MacBook Pro. One thing that bothers me is that I want my new MacBook Air to have all the music I have on my MacBook Pro. I am going to use the MacBook Air in addition to the MacBook Pro so I am not going to trasfer old data from the MacBook Pro to the MacBook Air. Is it true that my iTunes account can be shared by five devices, including more than 1 Mac? So is it true that I can have the complete library on my new MacBook Air just as I can on my iPhone?

You deauthorize all, then authorize th active computers.

With the limit of 5 devices per itunes account, I am wondering if I can have more than 1 itunes account on my computer?

The limit of five applies only to computers, not to iOS devices, if that's what you're concerned with. But yes, you can have content from up to five different iTunes Store accounts on any given computer or iOS device.

    plz help me

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • HT201272 Why aren't tunes i purchased on earlier devices (same iTunes account) available for me to download now???

I bought an ipod nano (gen II) many moons back and then updated to an iPod touch.
Over the years, I've purchased music from iTunes that I now wish to add to my new device.
But when I check my ITunes purchases, the older purchases just don't show - even though they were all purchased using the same iTunes account.
This seems a bit unfair and comes across as a rip-off as I don't want to have to buy them all again.
In the olden days, you went to the record shop and bought records. But when you traded in your old record player for a smart new hi-fi you didn't have to walk back to the shop and buy all your records again.
It's the reason why I won't upgraded my gen I touch to a new one.
(Apple seem a bit quick in this respect. I bought the v.expensive Apple Hi-Fi to play music through my nano. When I upgraded to my iPod Touch, they'd changed the voltage rating on their devices and so the Apple Hi-FI no longer worked fully with the Apple iPod Touch!.I had to buy a 3rd party adaptor which ruined the look of the whole setup - not good esp. as you buy apple gear for its design).
I've reached the point where i'll probably never buy another apple product.

All purchases should be available.  Are you sure they were purchased under the same ID?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You should ALWAYS have a backup copy of your purchases.
When you bought records, you kept the records, just as you should keep the songs you downloaded.  If you throw them away with your ipod, then they are gone, just as if you threw away a record with the record player.
You can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases
It is 100% your fault if you fail to maintain a backup copy of your music.
You will never be happy with any digital product if you fail to do the basics.

  • Multiple devices on iTunes account how do I use the iCloud without us getting each others texts

I have 2 iPhones one is mine one is my boyfriends when I downloaded the software he was receiving my texts on his phone even though I chose to only connect his phone through my computer both phones and my iPad are on the Samuel iTunes account I deleted the account from the iCloud to stop it but how do I keep the cloud and stop it from getting our texts on both phones?????

You can keep everyone on your iTunes account all you have to do is have everyone create there own iCloud account. Me, my wife, and my son all have our own iCloud for our own use. I have my 3 devices linked to mine, my son has 2 linked to his and my wife has 2 also. For some reason by default the iDevice will ask you to use your iTunes account but you don't have to. You can create it right from the device itself if you want a @me account which is the way to go IMO. you can also go to iCloud.com and create it there too. We have a total of 8 devices linked to one iTunes account for purchases and everything works like a champ. Hope this helps.

  • Multiple devices one itunes account

    Hi,
I have an itunes account for my iphone and ipad, now my kids have just got ipod touches for Christmas which i have added as new devices to my itunes account. When my daughter sends an imessage it appears on all the devices linked to my account, including granny's new iphone! I have ipod touch, When you register the ipod Touch give it a unique name. I have also connected all three at same time unless there is an issue I have missed I have had no problem. YOu can also set an option so that when you connect the device itunes will not start and then you can manually start it and choose the device you want to upgrade..etc.

  • What is used to authorize a device for Itunes?

I  am trying to understand what is used from a specific device to "Authorize" it for itunes. Is it a MAC address or something else that would always be with a device?

A this time there is no force upload command for iTunes Match.
Since tis is s user-to-user forum no one here knows exactly what the process iTunes uses is. What we do know is the waveform of the song is the primary criteria, and music is only matched in the store for which you have an account. It is not unusual for some albums in a library to have some tracks matched and others uploaded.

  • I registered for itunes account but in the verification mail I cant see the link

I am trying to creat an itunes account for my friend but in the verification mail I cant see the link.. what can I do to fix it ?

The iCloud and iTunes Store account ID are not the same thing. They can be different although some folks, like myself, do have the same Apple ID for all the Apple services. Go to Settings > Store and enter the exact same iTunes Store account ID you used to purchase iTunes Match. Be aware you can only switch Apple IDs on an iOS device every 90 days.

  • Deleting device from itunes account

I have an ipod touch linked to my itunes account but I need to remove it.  The help pages say I should go to my account and click manage devices but that option isn't there. Help please.

What do you mean by "I don't want to loose anything on it"
What iOS is on the iPod?
What do you mean by "like him to be sresponsible for it"?
I used to use the ipod but have given it to my son so I want to set him up with his own itunes account, hence the reason for deleting it from mine. It is currently linked to my itunes account and I don't want to loose anything on it but would like him to be sresponsible for it.  Hope that makes sense.

  • Remove device from itunes account

My husband hooked his iPhone up to my computer in error. Now when I try to purchase music/apps from iTunes, his account comes up & I am asked to enter
his password. I don't see his device listed on my iTunes account. How do I find it and/or remove it?

    Hi kellie929,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Your husband may have signed into the iTunes Store with his Apple ID. You may want to first click the Store menu in iTunes and see if you can choose Sign Out.
You can sign into iTunes with the right Apple ID by following these steps:
Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store and Mac App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2589
To use your Apple ID at the iTunes Store
Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In from the Store menu.
Enter your Apple ID and password, then click Sign In.
Click Review when asked to review your information.
Enter your billing information, a credit card will be required.
Click Continue when you're done entering your credit card and billing information.
    Best Regards,
    Jeremy

  • HT204074 Is there a way around the 10 max iOS devices per iTunes account?

I work in a games company that have numerous iOS devices. I want to create an iTunes account that can be associated with all the devices for testing purposes. Is there a way to have a business/corporate iTunes account for this?
    Thanks,
    Adam

There is no standard iTunes Store account that provides any extra permissions. But when you sign up as an iOS developer, you get the ability to register and provision up to 100 devices for testing. Sign in your member center and go to the iOS Provisioning Portal and you'll find full information.

  • Multiple Devices on itunes Account

Is there a limit to the number of devices that you can attach to an itunes account?

    Hello Sue,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. The number of devices one Apple ID can handle is up to 10. The following article goes into detail about that process.

  • Can I enter Credit Card for iTunes account on web?

I just created an iTunes account recently for my son who has an iPad.  He'll be using this to purchase apps.  He has the iPad and also his Mac which has iTunes on it.  I want to be able to enter my credit card information into his account so that any apps purchased are charged to my card.  Yet I don't have access to his iPad or Mac and don't want to give him my actual card #.  Is there a way I can log into his iTunes account on the web and add credit card information?  Thanks!

You can use an iTunes gift card to create an account. See this ->iTunes Store: How to redeem an iTunes Gift Card
You can also create an account without a card and use it for free apps and artwork. See this -> Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card
Pay attention to step 4 "Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must purchase a free application by clicking 'Free App'."
