5 Gold Stars For BT

My landline went dead on Tuesday 12th. I waited a few hours before reporting it to BT as I thought they may be working on the exchange or elsewhere.
At 11.00am I reported the fault (via mobile phone). Recevived text from BT saying the line was being checked. Received another text saying one of their engineers was dealing with the problem.
The following day I had a visit from BT engineer, checked main socket with his box of tricks etc. Informed me that they were in the process of replacing wires etc approx 100 yards from my house and soon as it was completed they would let me know.
Less than half an hour later, same BT engineer returned with good news. Seems my landlindline was connected directly to the exchange and I would be up and running in one hour.
45 minutes later and the phone, broadband etc all working.
Well done BT
From a very happy customer.
. . . it must be remembered that the sea is a great breeder of friendship. Two men who have known each other for twenty years find that twenty days at sea bring them nearer than ever they were before, or else estrange them.

I have since had three follow up calls from BT. I assured them each time that everything was okay and I had no problems.
Nice of them to be so concerned

  • Is there a way to display again the description field by clicking on the gold star near the url (useful to type memos about this site)?

In the previous versions of Firefox, when you click on the star near the url, you can add this website on your favorites. Another click and you can edit some fields about this bookmark, like the url, the folder, etc...
But with FF17, the Description field is no longer there. You can only find it when managing your bookmarks, that is not really user friendly.
Is there a way to add again the description field when clicking on the gold star? It's very useful for adding notes about this website, and it's also synch with addins like Xmarks

Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

  • I no longer get the "edit this bookmark" box when click on the gold star

Using Firefox 3.6.12 on Windows XP professional, version 5.1.2600 service pack 3, build 2600. Have "Unsorted Bookmarks Folder Menu" add-on installed, working fine, but 4 days ago clicking on the star icon to edit an existing bookmark stopped working. Hovering over the gold star still gives the pop up message "edit this bookmark" - but when I click on it, nothing happens, the edit bookmark box does not appear. Also, the "Options" button for the "Unsorted Bookmarks Folder Menu" add-on is greyed out, so no luck with trying to fix it from there.

i tried this idea even tho on my main pc Mcafee SA does not cause the problem. on the laptop it has just happened and i have removed and re-installed firefox to no avail. any other ideas please?

  • When I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site and click "Choose", none of my current folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu.

Running 3.6.12 on Windows XP in my brand-new HP 6000 Pro, and when I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site, 5 of my 80-odd folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu. But then, when I click "Choose", no list of current bookmarks appears, so I have to bookmark every time under "Unsorted", then drag each bookmark to its correct folder. What am I doing wrong? I use Firefox on my other 2 systems, and every folder appears on the drop-down, just like it should.

I don't use Xmarks, so I don't know whether that is a factor here...
If you use Ctrl+d on a bookmarked page, does the Edit Bookmark dialog appear?
Firefox doesn't have a convenient way to determine the location of a bookmark. One workaround is to use the extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-parent-folder/ Show Parent Folder] to add a column in the Library dialog showing the location of a bookmark. Then when you use the search function or Recently Bookmarked query, you should be able to discover the location.
The extension shows just the folder name by default. If that isn't unique enough, you can change a setting for the extension so it shows the full path down to that folder. To set this, open the Add-ons page, Extensions category, and use the Options button for Show Parent Folder.

  • Gold star.  I am I missing something or is ASC not working as usual.

All the replies that I see to a question have gold stars.  What is going on?  I though only posts several people marked as being good deserve a gold star.
Seems like ASC lives up to its design:
-- of implementing a new feature that do not work &
-- ignoring old features that do not work.
I guess this is consistent in a why, nothing works.  Makes for a better management bullet point than fixing a bug.
Sure wish Apple would get its act together with these forums.  Another instance in the general Apple trend of introducing new stuff when the current stuff doesn't work.
Notice how Kappy got a star within 15 minutes of my creating this question.

Perhaps you can help us with another point that we have been curious about in the New Helpie/Likey System... points awarded for accumulation of "This helped me" tally that has been stated but not quantified.
Did you mark with your twanger as the OP
    OR
Did the tally of (2) as indicated do the trick?

  • Interactive Rating Stars for XSLTListView Blog Home Page

Hi All, using the OOTB blog site template, I'd like to modify the OOTB List View Web Part (using SharePoint Designer) on the home page of the blog site to also include interactive rating stars next to each entry's title. So far I've been able to get the

  • What is going on with the Sony Wireless Gold Headset for the PS4?

Can anyone tell me what is happening with the new Sony Gold Wireless Headset for the PS4? Seen here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/gold-wireless-stereo-headset-for-playstation-4-and-playstation-3/3353002...
The release date provided by Sony was 2/10/2014. Every other store and website, including Amazon, Gamestop, etc. is selling these now. Best Buy still has them listed as a "Pre-Order". I went to a store today, and they didn't have them out on the shelf. When I inquired about them, they told me that they had them in stock in the back, but were NOT allowed to sell them to customers. No reason was given. I then called the only other store in my area, and they too said that they have them in stock, but due to instructions from corporate, were NOT allowed to sell them to customers.
This flies in the face of everything I'm seeing online, which is that people are walking into other Best Buy locations and buying them without issue. The website still has them up in Pre-Order status, but does say will ship them in 1 Business Day. I would really like to buy these from BB today, rather than waiting for shipping or getting them from Amazon. There is NO reason why these shouldn't be able to be sold yet.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

    Hello MMcCraryNJ,
This headset looks pretty great! I can certainly understand wanting to pick a pair up as soon as possible.
I’m not sure what may have been going on, but it appears to be resolved at this time since the listing on BestBuy.com now has these as “Add to Cart.” If they were still listed as “Pre-Order” over the weekend, it’s entirely possible that the SKU hadn’t been made available to sell yet in store either. Stores may have had them in stock, but the system may not have allowed the sale. I apologize for any inconvenience that this caused.
I understand that you had been looking at other options for purchasing this headset, but if you’re still looking to buy one you should be able to do so at any Best Buy store that currently has them in stock or through BestBuy.com.

SQL>To display characters as stars (as per the unix banner command) you need some sort of bitmap representation of your character set. As I've done, you can define your own, or you could probably get at the internal fonts somehow (I used to do this sort of thing in machine code back on the BBC Master, but not sure how you'd access the font/character set information from within Oracle)
If you actually want the H and the I displaying next to each other then that's a little more work, but you can have a go at that yourself.

  • Problem making stars for space scape

Ok so I just learned the other day how to make stars and planets and all that cool stuff using some tutorials I found online mainly this one http://www.123rf.com/blog/blog.php?idblog=b1000113&v=nl&e=1109
And I made a pretty cool, but amateur space scape.
Now I'm trying to do it again following the same instructions and I can't get past the first part of making the stars. I add noise and then to darken the noise and thin it out to make it look more like stars the tutorials say either adjust the levels of the brightness and contrast. So i do that and every time I get it looking the way I want in the preview and then I hit OK it goes back to looking the same as it did before I adjusted the levels or the contrast. I don't get it, it never did that before. I'm wondering if I accidentally changed some preset or something. Anyone have any ideas. I hope I'm making sense here.

The preview is not accurate for a view percentage less than 100%. View your image at 100%, and then the adjustments you preview will be what is applied to your actual image.

  • What is the best colour to use for a 'Gold' effect (for printing)

I've had a look on the colour tab and (maybe I'm looking too hard!) but I can't find the best shade of yellow to use for a gold effect when printing - anybody got a CMYK or RGB code???
    Thanks very much,
    Mark

    Shunith,
I apologize for the woolly way.
    C: 0,
    M: 9 (very pale) - 24 or 15 - 24,
    Y: 100,
    K: 0.
Here is an image quickly made for old thread, showing a slightly slanting gradient from 0/24/100/0 to 0/0/0/0 and back, created with a few intermediate steps to make it steeper in the pale part, to make it more radiant:

  • Hollow Stars for Albums

So I don't rate my albums until I have rated my songs, but my problem is that I have several smart playlists based on album rating and when I rate a single song in iTunes that CD will then show up on my playlist due to the hollow star rating.
    Any way to solve this?

If you assign songs a rating an unrated album gets an automatic rating, which you can override by rating it.
If you assign an album a rating unrated songs get an automatic rating, which you can override by rating them.
iTunes doesn't import ratings from tags, or third party services. You set them.
You can't turn automatic ratings off.

  • How to pull stars for SSN field in PA30 screen

    Hi all,
When user display the Employee Personal Details (0002) using PA30.
I have to display the SSN field with stars.
ex: If original SSN is        123 45 6789
         I have to display it as  ***   **  6789
    Thanks in advance

The only thing I can think of is finding a BAdI or user exit (screen exit) in which this field can be accessed / changed. Otherwise you might be looking at a modification of standard SAP.
Do you try and find some display options in customizing?

  • STARS for best external FW recommendations!

I had posted this question a while back, but never moved on it and Gary suggested I repost now. Here is the original thread.

I've pretty much decided upon getting miniStack v2 320MB for my wife's macMini, but am still debating what to do for myself. I thought this OWC drive looked like good deal, thoughts?
    http://eshop.macsales.com/Item_Specials.cfm?ID=8598&Item=OWCMA8FW7320GB8
This would be for my Graphite G4 and I'm not sure if the FW 800 is overkill. There is also this drive:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/Item_Specials.cfm?ID=7965&Item=OWCNPFW7320GB
I'll check to see what FIrewire the G4 has when I go home tonight.
Can anyone make any recommendations? I want something not too expensive, reliable, lots of storage, and worry free (as possible). I'm open to suggestions, thanks. It is only a matter of time before my G4's orginal 80GB drive gives out and need to back up that data soon!
I may also want to get another drive just as a back-up back-up, but that is for another thread...
    Thanks!

Those aluminum cased OWC drives are quite nice (in my experience)...But note, they price out different based on what connection you get. USB2/FW400 is the cheapest, then you work your way up...so no need for 'overkill'
