5 iTunes icons on my desk top

I downloaded the recent upgrade (includes safari, quick time, and an iTunes update). All went well but after restarting my computer I had 2 iTunes icons on my desktop. When trying to open one I received the "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed". The other opens iTunes. So I deleted the shortcut that was not working, when I dropped it into the recycle bin it deleted the functioning icon, not the one I moved. So I restored the functioning icon and tried to rename it so I knew which one worked. when I did that it renamed the other. then, I tried to open them again, I received the error message from both. So I opened iTunes from the Start Menu, and it installed an additional icon on the desktop. After closing iTunes, I received the error message from all three. so I opened it from the start menu again and it installed another icon, which did not work after closing itunes. now I have 5 iTunes icons on my desktop that do not work. HELP.

Okay, launch iTunes... does it work?
If so, in Edit > Preferences > Advanced is the option to "prevent syncing of iDevices" selected?
Another possibility, in Control Panel > Default Programs > Change Auto Play Settings > what is the system set to do when an iPhone is connected?

How do you add a desk top icon to your desk top

You use to be able to right click on the mouse and get a box with several options, which included, one that ask if you wanted to place icon on your desk top, for the page you had up. I can no longer, using, Thunderbird find a tab for adding icons to your desk top. Is there a way to still do it or not. Please let me know. Thank you, Robert

Open iTunes on your iMac.
In the lefthand column of the iTunes window that opens, under Library, click on Apps. A window will open that will show all the Apps you've downloaded. If you downloaded the App via the iPad, you will have needed to sync the iPad and the iMac previously for the App to be listed. (I think)
Click on the App you want to delete, then press the Delete key on your keyboard. A window will open asking you to confirm that you want to delete the app. Click the confirm button.

Have a look in Finder Preferences: Click on the desktop, Finder>Finder Preferences.General tab - is there a tick in "External Disks'? If not, tick it.

Lost my icons on the desk top!!!!!

I have a gateway computer with windows 7. I was going to upload some pictures to PhotoBucket and when i hit the Bulk uploader link the computer just froze up. I couldn't close the window so i did a forced shutdown at the start menu. When the computer restarted all my icons were gone. I have the bottom bar with everything on it but nothing else. Everything runs fine but no icons. I ran AVG with no problems detected.
What should i do?

The Application should still be in the Aplications folder.
Just drag its Icon back onto the dock.

An iCloud email account is accessed with the iPhone's Mail app as an IMAP account. Contacts are synced with the Contacts app on your iPhone, calendar events are synced with the Calendar app, and notes are synced with the Notes app, etc.
On your desktop, you can add a bookmark with your browser and/or add a webclip to your Desktop for the website if you plan on accessing the account via webmail, or the email account can be created/accessed as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer.
