$5 pre-order deposit not applied or refunded

I put down a $5 pre-order deposit in store, and when I picked up my game this week, I wasn't given my $5 credit.  This is despite having the CSR scan my pre-order deposit receipt, and me asking why the display didn't give me my $5 credit.
Do I have to go back to the store to fix this, or can someone give me the credit online like http://www.forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Best-Buy-Store-Purchase/Wast-not-credited-my-5-deposit-at-preorder-...

If our store associate scanned your pre-order deposit receipt, it’s quite odd that your deposit wouldn’t have been applied when completing the payment to fulfill your pre-order. I’m very sorry for any confusion if this occurred! I’ve seen this happen maybe a handful of times and it can be due to a few different circumstances. Either way, I’d like to look into this for you if still needed.

  • Pre-order Deposit Negation

    So recently I picked up my Watch Dogs pre-order, for which I had put a $10 deposit on. When I picked it up, the price on the screen when I swiped my card reflected the $10 deposit and my GCU discount ($41.95). I didn't really look at the receipt, and have since thrown it away, but when I checked my checking account online, I noticed that I had been charged $51.95, the $10 deposit seeming to have disappeared. Is there any way to resolve this now?

    If you put down a $10 deposit when you pre-ordered Watch Dogs, then that $10 should have been deducted from the pre-tax total when you picked up your copy.  I used the email address you registered with the forum to review your purchase history and it does appear the pre-order deposit may not have been applied correctly.

  • $5.00 Preorder Deposit Not Applied to Final Purchase

    I pre-ordered Sunset Overdrive and paid a $5 deposit for it. When I went into the store and picked it up on Tuesday, they scanned my receipt, I made the purchase, and everything seemed okay. But when looking at the receipt now, I'm not too sure that the $5 I originally paid was applied to the purchase.
    It says "Deposit Paid: 5.00" under the line item of the game, but from my previous pre-orders, I could have sworn it would also appear as a tender type below the total. Adding up the amounts, it does not look like the $5 was simply deducted off the game price either. I went into the store and talked to customer service, but they were sure that it was taken off because the preorder receipt no longer scans, and they just point to where it says "Deposit Paid" and say if you add all that up, it equals $64.99, about the price of the game after tax. That doesn't sound correct to me. Can anyone who picked up their preorder look at their receipt and see how many times and where a preorder deposit is referenced?

    Good question! If processed correctly, pre-order deposits should appear in two locations on the final sales receipt: under the item description and at the bottom of the receipt with your payment method. We're aware of an issue that may intermittently prevent pre-order deposits from being applied correctly though, so I'd encourage you to return to your local store if it doesn't appear your pre-order deposit was recognized. An on-site rep will need to void the original transaction and reprocess it to address the issue, and I have confidence they'll be able to help you out.

  • If you are on a EDGE plan, can you pre order the Note 4 or do you have to actually go to the store to get the Note 4?

    Im on a EDGE plan with my S5, i want to pre order the Note 4 but doesnt seem like i can via the website, do i need to go into the store once the phone is released to EDGE up to the new Note 4?

    you can pre order the note 4 if your on edge,  however you will need to pay whatever you need to pay to get you to edge up eligibilty

    I am having the same issue.  I pre-ordered a book (I can see the pre-order in my Purchased History) and I did not get an email and it did not auto download but when I go to the store, I can buy it.

  • Just noticed a recurring pattern of not being credited my $5 pre-order deposit.

    The other day I was going over some of my Best Buy gaming purchases this year through MyBB, and noticed for one game, Project CARS on PS4, I was charged an additional $5 for the pre-order bonus (noted as "POB") which should have been free. I contacted customer support and was told I'd only be able to get a refund w. receipt in-store, and it was up to the store's discretion. As I didn't save a recipt from May, I figured it was a loss and not worth trying to make a case over $5.
    Then I noticed something else. As a Gamers Club Unlocked member, all new release $59.99 games go down to $51.35 ($47.99 + tax) when the 20% deduction is applied. When accounting for the $5 deposit to reserve an in-store pre-order, the game should work out to $46.35 after tax if the transaction is processed properly. However, going through new release game pre-orders, I noticed that almost every single game I pre-ordered for in-store pickup this year was processed incorrectly and I was charged $51.35 due to not being credited the depsoit I had already paid. I didn't realize at the time, but now it appears as if has been the case for four pre-order purchases, which when added to the $5 I was charged for the pre-order bonus, works out to a $25 total overcharge. Is there any way to try and get my money back on this at this point or no? As some of these purchases were from months ago, I don't still have the receipt and even if I did, would be past the return window (though this wouldn't be a typical return issue).

    You certainly shouldn’t be running into so many issues with pre-order deposits at your local Best Buy. I’m familiar with hiccups with these in the past, but I haven’t heard anything for quite some time now. Our systems are setup to automatically apply your $5 deposit to the final transaction when a game releases, so this leads me to believe that some of your pre-orders aren’t being fulfilled properly at the store level. I’m very sorry if this has occurred on any of your pre-orders!
    Like others have mentioned, your local store should be able to refund any pre-order deposits necessary. We also have the ability to locate previous pre-orders/receipts, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Considering the timeframe here, you may want to ask to speak with someone from your store’s leadership team as well, should you run into any issues.

  • Pre-Order deposit did not count

    I pre-ordered Destiny when it came out. I put down a $15 deposit. When I went to pick it up, I was asked by the cashier if I wanted to use my two $5 reward certificates. I said yes. When she was checking me out I saw the price on the pad list as $39.xx. I swiped my card and the price had changed to $54.xx. when I asked the cashier why did it do that she said it was normal and I would actually only be charged $39.xx as opposed to the $54.xx. I recently just received my statement and it shows I actually paid $54. When I went MyBestBuy to check to see if my reward certificates had been applied and they were. I am wondering why I was charged extra when I should only paid about $40. This actually means to me that I paid $80.00 for 1 game if I include the $15 deposit plus the two $5 certificates along with the $54 I actually paid. I would like to know how I can get this corrected.

    I’ll be honest with you.  I’m clueless when it comes to anything regarding gaming; however, I am the one who buys my little brother all the new games that come out for his PS4 console, and goodness knows that I make sure I’m getting the best price possible whenever I can.  I certainly wouldn’t be happy if I was overcharged at the register, so I understand why you’d want to make sure you aren’t being double billed for your purchase.
    Using your email address attached  to your forum account, I pulled up your Destiny purchase and I do see something that doesn’t quite add up as it should.  At the time of purchase, the game was $59.99. On your receipt, I noticed that your two $5 My Best Buy certificates were properly applied and the purchase price was discounted to $49.99. With tax ($4.12), the total purchase was $54.11.
    Having said this, it appears your $15.00 deposit didn’t deduct from your order as it should have. I’d like to make sure I may properly reimburse you for this oversight; I’ve sent you a private message to collect necessary information.   • HT1209 Pre-ordered albums not showing in "Purchases" after delivery

    Hi
    I recently purchased two albums on iTunes on my iPhone that were pre-ordered by a few days. On the release date I was duly notified and dowloaded them to my phone successfully.
    Today I am trying to download them to my iMac but they don't appear in my "Purchases" list. Other items I have ordered which were not pre-orders are all there in the list OK.
    Any suggestions?

  • Victory Can Be Pre-Ordere​d not showing in my purchase history

    I pre-ordered Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare last week, for the Xbox One, but in my purchase history, it does not show the 500 point "Victory Can Be Pre-ordered" bonus A.K.A. the $10 reward certificate you would recieve for pre-ordering the game. I was curious why this is... I pre-ordered Sunset Overdrive, and the victory reward bonus shows for that game.  Both were in the $10 pre-order reward section. Any help?

    It typically takes 15-20 days for base points and pre-order bonuses to post, so you won't necessarily see an entry for your Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare purchase quite yet. The points associated with the pre-order bonus certificate may also not appear as pending and instead simply be available for use at the end of that timeframe.
    If you still haven't seen records of either the purchase or your pre-order bonus certiciate at the end of 20 days, let us know and we'd be glad to look into the situation on your behalf at that time.

  • Pre-ordered song not 'bought' in iTunes

    Hi,
    I pre-ordered a song a few days ago and I've been emailed saying it is now available. The thing is, I've managed to download it successfully on my iPhone, however when I go to the 'Account' section in the iTunes Store on my computer, the pre-order section has disappeared and the song has not appeared in my downloads, nor has it appeared in my library?
    So it's been downloaded on my devices except my computer. Any help with this please?

    Edit: I've just had a look and it's appeared in my purchased list now so I can download it now. It seems all I had to do was wait until it properly updated. Problem solved.

    HI there New to this forum. Connot seam to chat with a representative so thought I would try here. My question is Do I have to pre order a kindle Fire HD and pick it up? Or can I just go to BestBbuy and walk in the store and purchase it?I live almost 3 hours away forn the store and do not wan t to pre order in case of bad weather and can't get to pick it up. I just want to go to the store look a them decide which options  reg or hd etc.and buy it in person is that possible? Thanks

  • My pre-order has not & will not download.

    I pre-ordered an album awhile ago and have yet to receive it.  Everytime I try to download it, i-tunes either says that all my music has already been doenloaded or that it is no longer available in my area.  It's really starting to tick me off & I don't know what to do about it.  It really makes me not want to pre-order anything from i-tunes anymore.  I want the album and what was promised if you pre-order the album.  I keep trying to use the help & the contact us on i-tunes but it just keeps sending me around in circles.  I hate that when you try to contact i-tunes online, all they seem to do is run you around in a big circle over and over and over and over again.  It's really annoying and frustrating.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you and God bless.

That being said, we ship the games as soon as we can to get the games to our customers as close to release date as possible.   • Free Pre-Order Singles not included on the Album once released

    Hi there,
    I've had the following issue on a few albums I've purchased after already having the single. Most recently is P!nk's new album 'The Truth About Love' offered a free single of 'Blow Me (Once Last Kiss)' if you pre-ordered it. When the full album was released it skips giving the single and show's it like it's not even part of the album. This is easily fixable in iTunes however I use Match and the Cloud for my music on my devices and it still shows like it's only a single and not part of the album essencially discluding it from a continuous playback of the album the way the artist intended. I believe this is in the system as a way not to aquire duplicates but I would prefer it the other way round since having a duplicate is better than having an 'incomplete' album according to my phone and other devices even though I have the song in it's single format.
    Apple please fix. In the mean time is there a way to fix this in the Cloud/Match? Thank you.

    I had the exact same issue this week for a Pre-order album as well.  I would recommend canceling the Pre-order and download it again as you mentioned it has not been charged.  This article will walk you though the process.
