5 to 7 robocalls each day from different numbers but same scam

I get about 5 to 7 calles every day from something called "Senior Services" or "Medic Alert" or similar.  This has been going on for about a week now.  No two phone numbers are the same, and searching with Google on some of them showed some aren't even valid (how did the website know? I assume invalid area code/exchange combination). 
Examples are Senior Life {edited for privacy}, Med Alert Co {edited for privacy}, Senior Alert {edited for privacy}, and Dynamic Alert {edited for privacy}
Every one has the same recorded message, that I "won" a free medic alert device yada yada yada.  A web search shows this is a scam common the last few months. 
It is a bit of a pain to delete all the messages left by this robocaller, and I fear accidentally missing a real message from someone as a result.
I have my number on the do-not-call list and have reported a few of the instances to FCC, for what it's worth.  It does no good to block the numbers as they are never used more than once.
Have we reached a point where phone calls coming from networks which Verizon can't verify the caller with certainty have to go through a voice "captcha" to connect?

First...all the phone numbers you entered have been automatically edited out by the forum software as a privacy protection policy so the best of idea--particularly as these are not personal phone numbers--is to run all the numbers together and then the forum software doesn't see it as a phone number and doesn't edit it out.
Unfortunately, as a new user you can't go and edit your original post--you have to post 5-6 times to be able to edit one of your own posts--to put the phone numbers run together back in but also, since I'm replying to your post, the forum software won't let you edit your original post even if you could.

I've also received those same robocalls and they are really annoying--how totally stupid do these people think we are? Verizon Digital Voice does offer the option of blocking phone numbers however, it's limited to 10 numbers and you can't, for example, specify an entire area code or an area code-exchange combo. Some people have recommended getting a call blocker although they are a bit pricey at just under $100. It may depend on how aggravated you are as to whether you want to spend that kind of money but if you do, here's a link to a call blocker that has decent reviews:

  • I currently have 30,000 photos in my i photo library in300 events.  Ientally ad.    I add photos each day to different events over many years.  Currently I download my photos on one of my 6 MacBooks , and eventually I synch the photos to my phone

    it is critical that the events are maintained and the photos go exactly into place?

  • How to enter a new Date and Time each day in a Numbers Spreadsheet...

    Hi... I have finally decided to move away from Excel and really give Numbers a shot... I have an application where each day I first enter the current date and time into a particular cell of a new row and then I enter some data in cells adjacent (in the same row) as that entered date-time. Then the next day I want to again enter the (new) current date and time and add more data next to that new date-time and so forth day after day... You can't use something as simple as =NOW() because then everyday, ALL of the date-times would change to the current time... Nope, now what I want... I just want to be able to EASILY and QUICKLY enter the current date-time value in one call and then have that specific value stay there forever... In Excel, this is accomplished with the keyboard shortcuts of
    <cntl> followed by a semicolon (;) for the date
    then enter a single space (for separation of date versus time) followed last by
    <command> followed again by a semicolon...
    So all together that is,
    <cntl><;><sp><command><;>
    and that puts something like
    4/10/2010 9:49:00 AM
    in a single cell...
    That's what I now want to be able to do in Numbers...
    How do I do that??? Do I use the menubar item "Insert Date and Time" and if so, how exactly do I get the current time to show up in the chosen cell??? With formatting??? Is there a keyboard shortcut method like the one I mentioned that works for Excel?? I've perused the manual and though I found lots on date-time, I didn't see how to do specifically what I want to do... I likely just missed it as surely it must be easy to do...

    I have a table that stores several measures for each day. I need two queries against this table and I am not quite sure how to write them.

    I suppose there is a possibility that you have security software than may be blocking quarantining or even deleting the downloaded file.
    Normally if Firefox says in the download manager that the file is downloaded then it is on your computer, and if you right click you should get the option to open the folder the er the downloaded file is in.

  • One target table is loading from two different source but same columns but one source is in a database and other is in a flat file.

    I have a business issue to be implemented in ODI 11G. Here it is. I am trying to load a target table from two sources having same coulmn names. But one source is in file format and other is in Oracle Database.
    This is what i think i will create two mappings in the same interface using Union between the sources. But i am not sure how the interface would connect to different logical architecture to connect to two different sources.

    You are on the right track, this can all be done in a single interface. Do the following
    1) Pull your file data model into the source designer and and your target table model to the target pane.
    2) Map all the relevant columns
    3) In the source designer create a new dataset and choose the UNION join type (this will create a separate tab in the source designer pane)
    4) Select the new dataset tab in the source designer pane and pull your source oracle table data model into the source designer. Map all the relevant columns to the target
    5) Make sure that your staging location is defined on a relational technology i.e. in this case the target would be an ideal candidate as that is where ODI will stage the data from both file and oracle source and perform the UNION before loading to the target

    I am made the following query from different tables. A tuple "name" is appearing in some tables. So when I run the qiery in a Java class, it delivers the same result of c.name, bpl.name and p.name. The result of c.name is correct, but the other 2 names are overwritten. It works perfect in a postgreSql query tool. How can I correct it, plz?

  • How can i sync 2 separate outlook contacts (2 different accounts but same contacts) on to my iphone?

    I have a work iphone which has my work outlook account synced on it (Email, calendar and contacts). I have the same itunes account setup at home and at work and that works fine. However, at home i have a separate outlook account but the contacts between the work and home outllok are the same. Is there anyway that i can sync them via the iphone automatically. Any other solution that doesnt involve the cloud would be preferable. Many thanks!

    Ok in a round about way I got my wife's phone to to sync with the bookmarks at least once. I set up iCloud on my PC laptop and installed Safari. Then I logged it on to my iCloud account which imported all the bookmarks over. Then, still on the PC, I switched over the iCloud to my wife's account and presto her phone had all the bookmarks. Now this probably means her bookmarks are only synched with the PC (which is okay because she spends more time on it anyway. I'm always hoging the IMac) and the iMac and the PC are not synched together.
    I'm still haveing a problem with my calander syncing with the iMac. My reminders show up but if I add an event to a particular day from my phone it does not. This even applies when I log onto iCloud.com. However, if I add an event on the iMac it does show up on my phone. All the settings are turned on on all three devices. I've tried turning them on and off. I just don't get it because it was working fine.
    Contacts seem to be syncing for both of us.... sort of. Any contacts we add on our phone syncs to the Mac but it is doubling up on people we both have.

    I need to share ical calendars between 2 store locations and my home office. I have only 1 .mac account, and I created a new calendar on each machine and sent the publish email from each machine to the other ones to invcite them to subscribe. That was working fine, but now, when i loggon to one machine it has the wrong calendar as read only. so it seems, that .mac doesn't know which computer is the owner of each calendar.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    You need to start over:
    .Mac is for synchronising, not for publish/subscribe. You need to keep the original calendar(s) and unsubscribe from the remote locations. Next, [on each machine] enter your dotmac account details in the dotmac System Preference Pane. The click on the second tab "Sync", choose to "Synchronise with .Mac Automatically" after you have checked the box next to Calendars.
    You will be prompted on your first sync to establish which is the master data: on the machine with your original calendars choose to overwrite .Mac with data from this mac; on the others choose to overwrite data on this mac with data from .Mac.
    You should then have read/write access to all the calendars on all the machines (provided each of them is using the same dotmac account).
    Make sure you back-up valuable data before starting.

    How can I copy this incredibly long formula into different cells but change the sheet that it's referencing without typing in the sheet name in every instance it occurs (at least 28 times right now).
    Is this something I'm going to have to use an outside editor (ie text edit, pages) to find & replace?

    I don't know which is the "incredibly long formula" but I know that Jerrold described the required scheme in the late 48 hours !
    In one fixed cell of your table (A1 is a good choice), store the name of the sheet to address.
    Then, in the formulas, use the function INDIRECT to compute the cell's reference grabbing the sheet name from the cell A1 (with an absolute reference : $A$1)
    This way, when you will paste the formula in an other table, it will grab the sheet name from the cell A1 of this new table.

  • IOS 7 Separate Texts coming in from different numbers

    My wife my daughter and I all have iPhones.  We are all running IOS7.  My wife and I recieve both our own texts and the texts to my daughters number.  The problem we are having is that if anyone texts my daughter it comes to me but looks like it is coming directly from that person.to m
    Here's an example.
    Today I was texting with my wife.
    During our conversation she sent a text to my daughter.  Since I receive texts to my daughter, I got this one as well.  The issue is that it looks like it is coming from my wife to me.  It actually goes right into the conversation that we were having.  Needless to say the conversation got confusing for a couple minutes till we realized that these texts were getting mixed in.
    So, here is my question.  If have multile numbers chosen under Settings->Messages->Send & Receive, is there any way to seperate out the incoming messages so I know which number they are coming in to?  And can I do this without having to create a new Apple ID?

    Bit of background so I don't waste anyone's time:
    IPhone 4s, itunes 11.1 (both on computer and iphone)
    I too am stuck in this recovery loop. I've read all over the community and have tried the suggestions:
    I put my phone in DFU mode & also recovery mode (a.e. hold home/sleep button down for 10 seconds, etc., etc., etc.) and tried restoring this way 10 different times, as some posts say it sometimes works after the 4-5 try but still no results.
    On my Iphone Screen the apple logo appears and the status bar below it gets stuck about 2/3 of the way, then I get the following error message, "could not restore because of unknown error (1)".
    I set up an appt. at the apple store for tomorrow, but holy sh*t what a fiasco!
    Any suggestions?
