5.x to 4.5 xml horror...oh the horror

OK guys,
I've followed the LAFCUPG on using xml to go from 5.x to 4.5 with projects.
It works....if the capture settings were set to 2 audio tracks in fcp5.
Otherwise, for example, if the clips were digitized, with let's say 8 audio tracks of empty information(basic AJA and KONA Firewire settings), they will not reconnect.
So, I used QTpro to delete the 6 audio tracks that contain nothing on the batch clips and try opening the xml in 4.5 again. In fcp5 it recconected the modified(less 6 audio channels of nothing) files no problem.
But, going back to 4.5 did not go well. Well, some strange bugaroos on this one. If the clip was in a sequence it would reconnect, but show up in the bin as unconnected, even tho I could see it in the timeline. In the bin, it would show up as offline, even tho it was "online" in the sequence.
If the clip was not in the sequence it would not reconnect at all.
So..after wasting my time for 3 hours and not willing to fork over another 3 grand to upgrade my home suite to my work suite.....
I'll give my editing suite away to the first person who can show me a camera that records 8 frickin channels of audio. This is a total waste of code.
AVID RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can take a brand new project file from the newest AVID AND yes I said AND open it up in a 10 year old Media Composer Project without going to arcane xml.
Who makes software that is not backward compatable for less then 6 months....APPLE.

well the Sony XDCAM HD records 4 channels
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=4 29066&is=REG&addedTroughType=search
and this Sony HD deck does 12 i/o
http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/minisites/cinealta/post/srw5000.sh tml
This Panasonic deck does 8 i/o http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=1120 1&catalogId=13051&itemId=68620&catGroupId=14594&surfModel=AJ-HD3700B&displayTab= F
OH ya pretty much any deck that supports HD-SDI has 8Channels
and if you need to get some audio off a DA 88 you would need 8 channels record ablity

  • Tranferring XML data to the B1 System

    Hi,
    Iam very new to the B1 system..
    Iam looking to transfer the data from the XML file to the B1 system.
    to make it clear, the requirement is i have a purchase order coming from one system and it is saved in the server..the data in the XML file will have to be shown in the B1 system as a sales order..
    Please any one can help on this ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar.

    Bhaskar,
    The forum that you have posted your question in is for questions related to the SAP Business One Integration to SAP NetWeaver.  You question seems more generic as to how to import XML into SAP Business One.
    One way of doing this would be to create a small program using the Business One SDK.  You can search the SAP Business One SDK Discussion Forum as well as look at the SDK documentation that comes with the product.  If you converted the XML data to text, you could use the Data Transfer Workbench.  There are different options that you have.

  • Hello Anybody, I have a question. Can any of you please suggest me how to make an xml file from the database table with all the rows? Note:- I am having the XSD Schema file and the resulted XML file should be in that XSD format only.

    The Oracle documentation has a good overview of the options available
    Generating XML Data from the Database
    Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.
    You can also find some information in XML DB FAQ

    However using SYS.ODCIVARCHAR2LIST makes sense if your query is a part of bigger processing (PL/SQL procedure or function) and you will do some processing depending on File_Type, like in this example (not compiled, could contain syntax errors):
    DECLARE
      l_stid           VARCHAR2(10);
      l_address        VARCHAR2(30);
      l_File_Type_tab  SYS.ODCIVARCHAR2LIST;
      cur_cursor IS SELECT STID,
                    ADDRESS,
                    CAST(COLLECT(DISTINCT File_Type) AS SYS.ODCIVARCHAR2LIST) AS File_Type
                    FROM (
                          SELECT STID,
                                 ADDRESS,
                                 File_Type
                            FROM DUMMY
                    GROUP BY STID, ADDRESS;
    BEGIN
      OPEN cur_cursor;
      <<main_loop>>
      WHILE (1=1) LOOP
         FETCH cur_cursor INTO l_stid, l_address, l_File_Type_tab;
         EXIT WHEN cur_cursor%NOTFOUND;
         -- Now do processing for each File_Type in l_File_Type_tab;
         <<each_file_type>>
         FOR i IN l_File_Type_tab.FIRST .. l_File_Type_tab.LAST LOOP
           -- for example:
           -- IF l_File_Type_tab(i) = 'SALES'
           -- THEN
           --   do_something(l_stid, l_address);
           -- ELSIF l_File_Type_tab(i) = 'TRANSFER'
           -- THEN
           --   do_something_else(l_stid, l_address);
           -- ELSE
           --   do_something_default(l_stid, l_address);
           -- END IF;
         END LOOP each_file_type;
      END LOOP main_loop;
      CLOSE cur_cursor;
    END;

    When running an xml publisher report the xml output leads to 9 mb and the excel output file leads to 20 mb. The records contained in excel file is 4000 records. When taking the excel records and copy to new excel file the excel file size is 3.5 mb only.Why does the oracle software generates 20mb file?
    Does any one knows the answer please advice?

    Hello,
    This issue is because the Excel output from BI Publisher is MHTML (XML Publisher generates XHTML) not binary .xls.
    MHTML and XHTML are more verbose formats than binary .xls.
    It will be large because the current Excel output is just an HTML and not compressed like PDF. Please use the workaround (save it as .xls file).  This is a known limitation of RTF layout templates.
    BI Publisher Enterprise has a new feature True Excel Templates. The layouts generate binary Excel output.
    Excel Output File Size Generated By BI Publisher is Very Large (Doc ID 760437.1)

  • Is a copy of .xml file on the iPod too? If so, how can I copy ONLY the .xml file to my computer and NOT have to copy all my music files too?

    I had to re-load my OS (Windows XP Pro) from a HD snapshot via Acronis True Image Server. I save my OS on my C: drive and all my data files on my D: drive.  So when I re-loaded my OS, I still have all of my music files intact.
    I have re-loaded the OS before and had to re-create iTunes library which I did by doing the follwing:
    1. cut & paste .xml file in iTunes folder to desktop
    2. delete .itl file in iTunes folder
    3. import .xml file through iTunes  file>library>iport playlist
    4. navigate to .xml file on desktop and import
    This worked last time I re-loaded my OS but not this time for some reason.
    So I'm wondering if there is a copy of the .xml file on the iPod itself in the iPod_Control folder that I can copy and paste to my comuter desktop and import via the above steps?
    I have seen all kinds of solutions on the web that include copying the music files from the iPod to the computer.  I don't need to do that.  I have the music files.  I just need the .xml file so iTunes can talk to my iPod (5th Generation - 30G).

    Backup your music library, that is the only way to ensure it does not go missing through theft, damage, operator error, machine breaks, upgrades go wrong, operator goes wrong .........

  • Help on how to read the content of an XML file from the payload

    I have a receiver channel / mail adapter, that sends e-mails with a XML attachment.
    I’m trying to write a Bean, that should make it possible to rename the attached XML file dynamically.
    In the Bean I want to read the content of the attached XML file, it could be the “order number”.
    The filename should then be “Order number”.XML.

  • Hiding XML elements in the structure view – scripting influence to the structure view?

    Hi
    Is there a way to hide specific XML elements (really the elements and not the attributes) in the structure view?
    I am asking this question to know if it is possible to influence the structure view by scripting.
    Many elements are indeed used as a kind of help for constructions which have nothing to do with the actual contents especially in the case of tables.
    You inflate the the structure view unnecessarily and the author will lose track of the real contents. It would be nice if there was a possibility to hide those help construction elements.
    Thank you for any hints.
    Regards
    Apollo102

    Hello Apollo,
    There is a way to hide elements from the Structure View (one such method is offered by the free AXCM plug-in). What happens when you use AXCM (or other methods to hide elements) is that the elements get wrapped into hidden content. This might make the structure view less complex for your authors, but has a number of disadvantages and dangers.
    1. The structure is normally invalidated, as the helper elements are usually required.
    2. Accidentally deleting hidden content may make the invalidation permanent and render your documents useless.
    It is NOT good practice to hide elements from authors in the structure view. Instead, you should either teach authors about the structure, or let them work in the Author View while adding sufficiently clear formatting to show them the underlying structure. In some cases, it might be better to create an authoring structure which is automatically transformed into the required full structure using an XSLT or other processing step. I have created a couple of such environments and they work fine. It just depends on the difference between the structure required for further processing and the structure that would be optimal for your authors (which in turn depends on the level at which your authors are experienced in working with structured content).
    I hope this helps you solve your problem without having to tweak the structure view.
    Kind regards
    Jang

  • How to add exactly 2 NON XML caracters at the end of a SOAP body

    Hello all I am trying to add two (and only two) extra non xml caracters "AA" at the END of a SOAP body using the JAXWS handlers as so:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Content-Type: text/xml;charset=UTF-8
    Content-Length: 131
    Content-Length: 131
    Server: Jetty(7.x.y-SNAPSHOT)
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    AA
    The problem is that if you try to add them to the SOAP body (see code below) you get a XML Unmarshalling exception. If I add "AA" as a soap attachment I get MORE than 2 caracters after the SOAP body (which I don't want)
    Here is the my SOAPHandler code :
    @Override
    public boolean handleMessage(SOAPMessageContext mc) {
    if (Boolean.TRUE.equals(mc.get(MessageContext.MESSAGE_OUTBOUND_PROPERTY))) {
    try {
    SOAPMessage message = context.getMessage()
    String stringSoapMessage= getMsgAsString(message);
    stringSoapMessage += "ss";
    message.getSOAPPart().setContent((Source) new StreamSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(msg.getBytes())));
    message.saveChanges();
    context.setMessage(message);
    } catch (Exception e1) {
    return true;
    public String getMsgAsString(SOAPMessage message) throws SOAPException {
    String msg = null;
    try {
    ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    message.writeTo(baos);
    msg = baos.toString();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    return msg;
    so my question is this: is there any way to add exactly 2 non xml caracters at the end of the soap body using jaxws handlers ? I have spent several weeks on this so it is not an easy question...
    Thanks,
    Fred.

    Yes I have done it using CFX interceptors. But the runtime dependencies needed were too big for this particular use. I mean having to use these:

    to add two caracters at the end of a soap message seems like over kill. If this is the only way to do this then i'll do it this way but it just seems like the implementation of the JAXWS API in JDK 6 seems inches away from being able to do this no ?

    Observe the first two lines of the second output.
    I tried to generate the second xml using a java mapping. and it is working fine when i test it in the Interface mapping's test tab. but it is not working when i test the scenario end to end. It is giving some runtime error.
    is it possible to change the namespace, etc in the output of the XML coming out of XI? if v change those namespace stuff, does XI recongnise the message and send it to the appropriate reciever?
    Please suggest me any solution.
    any help wud b greatly appreciated.

    The first XML is a Split msg XML..Where there are multiple messages within a single XML document..Thats why u have a <ns0:Messages xmllns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
    <ns0:Message1>
    Tags..
    Recheck what ur target system needs are & change ur mapping in XI.

  • Why the oracle XML parser "parses" the DTD comments?

    Hi all,
    I always use the header
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1' ?>
    to be able to use foreign characters in the XML documents.
    The oracle xml parser handles this correctly.
    My problem is, when I write comments inside the DTD, the
    parser reports "Invalid UTF8 encoding".
    Why the parser "parse" the comments? (protected by <!-- and -->)
    How do I say that the DTD encoding is different from UTF, like
    ISO-8859-1?
    Example of a correct DTD and corresponding XML, reporting
    problems, related to the 2nd comment in the DTD specification,
    written with ISO-8859-1 characters.
    The DTD:
    <!-- valid.dtd -->
    <!ELEMENT valid ( B, C ) >
    <!-- valid represents the concept "Identificagco" -->
    <!ELEMENT B (#PCDATA) >
    <!ELEMENT C (#PCDATA) >
    The XML:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1' ?>
    <!DOCTYPE valid SYSTEM 'valid.dtd'>
    <valid>
    <B>How are you, Conceigco</B>
    <C>I'm fine, thank you.</C>
    </valid>
    The parser output:
    [jgr@frontera test-dtd]$ java oracle.xml.parser.v2.oraxml -v
    valid.xml
    Error while parsing input sourcevalid.xml(Invalid UTF8 encoding.)
    Thank you for any help.

    I was wrong in saying that the attributes are not added to the element.My main aim is to add a array of elements to the root node.
    Is there a efficient manner in adding the elements , rather than adding them individually with the help of appendChild method.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error while extracting XML file from the application server

    Hi ,
    I am writing a XML file into the application server, after which when i try to extract the file to the local server using the report - RFASLDPC ,
    the file is extracted, but with a '#' symbol at the first position.
    Because of which the XML File does not open. But after i open the file in notepad and manually delete the '#' symbol and then reopen the file, it works fine.
    Is there any way to remove the '#' symbol while extracting itself ??
    Thanks in advance,
    Vikas.

    Select the option "No Character Set Conversion" in stead of Code page 1100.
    However, I still have troubles -> the downloaded xml file misses a space on several places. This causes errors too.

    I tried using several editors and online XML syntax checkers. None of them complained. Also I tried removing the newline character or any spaces in the document. Didn't help either. I read in some of the forums that Xerces could be picky about spaces but even without any spaces, I am getting this exception.
    We are using Weblogic 8.1 and the default parsers... Any help is appreciated. - Thanks...

    The Java API documentation (the bit about character encodings) mentions "ISO-8859-1" but not "ISO8859-1". Try that instead?
