Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer is that if your PC came with W8/8.1 you need to change 2 BIOS settings in order to install a non-HP supplied video card.
See the link below for what to do...

Hi:
Graphics adapters cannot be upgraded simply.
You would need to replace the motherboard with one that would have better graphics (if one exists for your model).
This would cost as much as buying a new notebook, so it is probably not a good idea to undertake such an endeavor.

Hi:
Unfortunately in most of today's notebooks (including yours), the graphics cannot be upgraded.
I looked at the service manual for your notebook, and there aren't even any other motherboards with better graphics available.
You can try the latest drivers from AMD to see if that helps, any but you can't do anything with the hardware.

• What upgrade graphic card do i need for a early 2008 mac pro

I have a early 2008 Mac Pro.  ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB is what i have now.  What is a good upgrade graphic card to get.

The GTX 780 6GB runs fine on the dual PCIe internal power cables -- as does the GTX 680 and Radeon HD 7950. The same can't be said of the GTX TITAN or GTX 780 Ti or Radeon R9 280X -- all of which require an auxiliary power feed to avoid a nasty power down of your tower at the worst moment when too much wattage is demanded of the Mac Pro's factory power supply.
Did I mention that the GTX 780 with 6GB of GDDR5 matches the 6GB of GDDR5 in the TITAN?
The one fallacy to my 'sweet spot' award has to do with OpenCL. In case you hadn't noticed, the AMD Radeon GPUs smoked the NVIDIA GeForce GPUs running Photoshop's OpenCL accelerated Iris Blur filter and rendering LuxMark's OpenCL accelerated Room scene.
So depends on budget, whether you want a PC card for less but no "early EFI boot screen" prior to drivers loading, and what apps and needs you have.
The one thing for sure is that 2600XT should have been retired ages ago and even more so with 10.8.3 and above, it could be trouble or just... PITA/POS.

• Upgrading graphic card on HP DC 8300 CMT

Dear HP,
I try to upgrade graphic card, on HP DC 8300 CMT (Intel® Core™ i7-3770 Processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000 )
with Nvidia Asus GeForce GTX 650 Ti.
As stock power supply doesnt meet requirements, I installed an additional  FSP Group Booster X5 450W.
Once I turn PC on, it reboots 3 times, and eventually it continues to use onboard graphic and windows 7 loads as usual .
like if new graphic card is not present. (not detected by windows)
Bios version is latest and particular option  for disableing integrated graphic is grayed out- not accessible.
Is there any explanation why this happens ?
On DC 8100 sff It automaticaly disabled onboard graphic, altough it was low consumption Radeon HD 7750 Low Profile card, and there was no any problem.
Regards.

• Upgrading graphics card for Pavilion 500-314 Desktop PC

I am looking to upgrade the graphics card in my HP Pavilion 500-314 Desktop PC. I was looking around and saw some forums that said it would be very difficult to do so with this PC and I have found a few that said it is absolutly possible. Unforunatly none of those forum posts were from this site except one that did not give much explanation, so I figured I would just ask.
The graphics card that comes with this PC is decent enough to run most current games, just not at the level I would prefer. I am not looking for the most cutting edge ultra mega super gamer graphics card, just something this PC can handle that would be an upgrade with 2GB dedicated vram.
Thank you in advance for any help you guys can give me!
PS This will be my first upgrade I have ever done on a PC myself outside of the ram on this same PC, so please try to keep that in mind with any explanation/answer .

Your system has UEFI BIOS, so you'll need to understand Secure Boot. Then read this to change settings.   For gaming, I would go here, and do the "Can I Run It" quiz.  Would recommend a Corsair 600W PSU.

• Upgrading Graphics Card on HP Envy Phoenix 810qe Desktop

So a little while ago I got a new Envy Phoenix 810qe Desktop (the windows 8 version) with the following customizations: 4th gen Intel i7-4790k @4.0 Ghz, 16Gb DDR3-1600Mhz (2 DIMMs), 2 Tb 7200 Rpm SATA Hard Drive, 16 Gb mSATA SSD cache, HP WLAN 802.11 ac 2x2 DB MCard BT WIDI, 15-in-1 Multi-slot Media Card Reader, 6 USB Ports (Front/Top), Audio [Front 4USB2.0, Top 2USB3.0], 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 745. I want to know if I could put in an Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 graphics card in place of the GTX 745. Reading from this post on the forum (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Upgrade-My-HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810qe-Desktop/td-p/4679014) I know that the computer has a 500w PSU. But in the post it seemed like the person asking the question just had the base computer and hadn't customized it, and I'm left wondering if the customizing I did to my computer has taken up more watts from the PSU.  Since I know that the GTX 980 would need all 500 of the watts that my computer has to offer I want to know if my computer might still be able to run this beast of a GPU. Anybody have any ideas? If not I think I can just settle for a Geforce GTX 960 because that only needs 400w of total system power. But I'm not even sure that could work on my current computer either. Any Help???

Hi,
There are many models of the 810 series.
Please post the HP product number for your PC. How to Find the HP Model Number and the HP Product Number or let HP automatically find your PC model number and HP network attached printers. This will allow others to review your issue, make suggestions and review your responses. This is usually the best way to get assistance.
The power draw of the NVIDIA GTX 980 can vary depending on the card.  You may need either two eight pin PCI-E power connectors or two six pin PCI-E power connectors and a power supply minimum of 500-600 watts depending on the particular graphics card.

• Upgrading graphics card of m8530f

I am looking to upgrade my graphics card and power supply in order to play Final Fantasy XIV and need some suggestions.  Doesn't have to be top of the line but a bit better than minimum recommendations.  The FFXIV Graphics Card Matrix is located here for reference.

I would suggest that you not chose an ATI 5xxx video card as there have been posts stating the the user could not get the  card to work.
Look at the NVIDIA GTX 460 1GB with 256 bit data path.  You'll need a 500-500 watt PSU to support the video card.
You should open up your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your power supply.  Here is a list of things to consider:
Specifications
Total wattage - important
12+ volt amperage rating - important
Modular - not mandatory but I like the flexibility
Warranty
i7 and SLI ready
Efficiency rating
Cost
Physical size -- standard ATX PSU is 5.5" by 5.9" by 3.4" give or take a few tenths
www.newegg.com has lots of PSUs choices.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake.....

Any suggestions?

Hi,
Try one of the below MSI specific model graphics cards.  They may or may not work in your PC but if they do then it's about the best that you can do without also replacing the power supply. These cards come with a switch to allow the card to work with legacy and UEFI mode BIOS PCs.  Know what the return policy is before your PC.

• Do I need upgraded graphics card for photography with 24" iMac ?

I'm very close to ordering a new 24" iMac. I'm a photographer, shoot RAW & process in Adobe Lightroom beta, and can't seem to find out if I would benefit from the upgraded video / graphics card option. If this just for gaming and video or would I see some benefit from having it for my photo applications? I'm also debating on the value of ordering the higher speed processor for the iMac. I know RAM is the most important thing but not sure if I'm wasting $$$ on the graphics card and speed upgrades. Hope one of the experts here can help me make the right decision. I'm currently using a 20" G5 iMac with 1.5 gigs of RAM with decent success.

Here is my personall philosophy on purchasing computers. Buy the best you can with in your budget. If your budget allows the cpu upgrade and the video card upgrade get it. Once you order, you won't be able to upgrade again and who knows what the future holds. It will also help to future proof your computer. If you only buy once every 3 or 4 years then getting the better cpu and graphics card will help tide you over near the end. Also, your computing habits my change in the future. You might decide you like doing video and then the 9600 gt card will indeed help. I just don't like limiting my future use by my buying decisions today.
Glor
