500-sheet tray for 16/600 & Pro 630

Is the optional 500 sheet tray for the Laserwriter Pro 630 the same as that for Laserwriter 16/600 & vice versa?
Thanks...

Answering my own question, for those interested... It seems that it is not possible to use the optional 500 sheet tray from either an hp4+/5 or Pro 600/630 in the 16/600 - because, while all would fit underneath the printer, the 16/600 is the only printer with this print engine that drives at 16 ppm. On the other hand, it might be possible to use a paper tray from a 16/600 in a Pro 600/630 or similar. No first hand info here, though.

  • 3.5" SSD tray for 2008 Mac Pro

I've just bought a new SSD for my 2008 Mac Pro and I need a 2.5" to 3.5" tray for it.  I've seen recommendations for the Icy Dock, can someone confirm whether or not this fits the 2008 model?  Or, are there other trays I should look at instead?  Thanks.

You might want to check this out: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Sonnet%20Technologies/TP25ST35TA/. OWC also offers a complete sled but only for the 2009 and later Mac Pro's, which use a slightly different sled design from your '08.

  • Consumables for LW Pro 630?

Where can I find the consumables list for the LW Pro 630? A fellow graphic designer gave me hers after she gave up trying to locate the source of her image quality problem. She had recently installed a new toner cartridge. I am not familiar with the Pro 630, but my other printers have also had fuser assemblies, and imaging drum assemblies if the drum was not already an integral part of the toner cartridge.
Does anyone know what items this model needs, where to get them, and where I might get a user manual for it? It would probably talk about consumables replacement.

How to restart base station from airport utility? I used to be able to do it remotely
I currently use a Mac Pro 10.8.4 and have a time machine for wireless 6.3 (630.34). Sometimes I cannot connect to the internet and use network preferences to diagnose the issue. This results in being told to restart the wireless. The airport utility includes the drop down option of restarting but is not clickable so I can't choose it.
With my prior macbook and same time capsule, etc  if i had problems connecting to the internet I would run network diagnostics to help out. This included clicking on the airport utility ---> base station --> restart. This worked most of the time.
Bottom line, is there something I am missing in not being able to restart the wi-fi remotely? ]
    Thanks in advance

You are likely forgetting a step.
    Open AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
Click Edit in the small window that appears
Now click the Base Station menu.....top of the screen....not the Base Station "tab" in the center of the screen
    Click Restart

  • Looking for OfficeJet 8600 pro plus replacement paper trays

Where can I purchase replacement paper trays for the OfficeJet 8600 Pro Plus printer?
I am NOT looking for the add-on paper tray unit, but a replacement for the primary tray. We shuffle various types of paper and envelopes in and out of the tray throughout the day, and we would instead like to keep several extra trays loaded with specialty paper to reduce wear on the primary tray.
    Suggestiosn?
    Thanks!

I searched in the online stores available by HP and was unable to find this part.  However, I was able to find that the part is available through HP Tech Support by calling in.
Click here to access the full list of HP Tech Support contact numbers.
The part number is CM749-60036 for the main tray assembly for the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  This part is, currently, around $25 usd, but prices are subject to change.
    Hope this helps.

  • My LaserWriter Pro 630 thinks it's a LaserJet IIP and prints dirty pages!

I recently aquired a LaserWriter Pro 630, and have been trying to get it to work. I've been using it with a WinXP Pro SP2 laptop as my PowerMac G4 doesn't have a parallel port and my print server has not arrived yet.
Basically, the only time it'll print anything is when the push button on the printer interface rail is set to 1 or 3 - which is PCL output. While the printer will print when set to PCL, it's output is... undesirable. When configured in XP as a LaserWriter Pro 630, it simply starts printing out the raw PostScript sent to the printer! interestingly enough, the printer will print on push button setting 4 - it'll print the printer spec sheet, and nothing else. Anything other than 1, 3, 04 4 will result in the printer thinking for a bit then giving an "out of paper light" or having the print job pass on in to oblivion, not giving an error on the printer or computer.
Now, the LW Pro 630 supports LaserJet IIP emulation... So I manually configured the driver to a LaserJet IIP in XP, set the push button to 3, and it prints! Only problem is, the pages look like they were sent through a bad fax machine.
I uploaded the scan of the XP Printer Test page here (http://img221.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lwpro630xp2cq7.jpg). Obviously the printer works, but I'd rather not print reports and whatnot on it when it looks like this.
For reference, here's the scan of the printer spec sheet that prints when the push button's set to 4 (http://img221.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lwpro630specsdy0.jpg).
Does anyone have an idea how I can resolve the LaserWriter's identity crisis and make it print cleanly again? Thanks!

The LaserWriter Pro 630 is a Postscript level 2 printer with LocalTalk, serial, Ethernet, and parallel interfaces.
To use it with your Mac, you may need to convert its 14-pin AAUI Ethernet port (marked with <_> Icon) to an RJ45 Ethernet port by adding a used US$5 transceiver.
It can then be used with the standard Apple LaserWriter driver when you turn on AppleTalk on your Ethernet port. No additional print server is required to use with a Mac.
The overall smudginess is caused by shipping it with the cartridge in place, with the tape seal removed. The toner has flown all over the inside of the cartridge. You need a new cartridge.
The LaserWriter test page is trying to explain the settings of the number dial in the center oval of the printout. It lists the ports in order and the settings imposed by each switch setting:
8 -- for the MiniDIN-8 port, used for LocalTalk
RS-232 -- for the RS-232 port, probably a DB-25, and shows the serial settings, like 9600, 8 data, etc.
Ethernet -- for the AAUI Ethernet port, which accepts Postscript level 2 data using "EtherTalk" -- AppleTalk-over-Ethernet
parallel -- for Centronics parallel, which will likely only provide HP PCL 4+ emulation and not Postscript.
