Return 504 Gateway TimeOut when access exchange service by domain/user and password
hi,
here is the scenario: a user of our app is in ntdev domain, and his exchange server located at apj.cloudmail.microsoft.com. our backend api is deployed at the Azure servers at US West.
our api get 504 Gateway Timeout when calling the
FindFolders API of exchangeService. does anyone know how to fix this issue? the following is the core code:
var
service = newExchangeService(ExchangeVersion.Exchange2010);
service.Credentials =
newNetworkCredential(username,
password, domain);
service.AutodiscoverUrl(emailAddress, RedirectionUrlValidationCallback);
service.FindFolders(
WellKnownFolderName.Root,
newFolderView(1));That doesn't sound like its an EWS issue more an issue with the Network path your trying to traverse to the Exchange Server. My suggestion is that you test EWS using the EWSeditor
https://ewseditor.codeplex.com/ (eg it sounds like you may have proxy server that expecting authentication etc.).
Cheers

Http error 504:gateway timeout
Hi,
I am convert from windows mobile to Blackberry ! I have software running on my server that I can access using my mobile. BUT since I changed to BB I am getting an error trying to log into my server.
If I use the browser under wifi with the browser configuration set to hotspot I can get into my server and applications.
BUT if I turn wifi off and use Data 3G I get the gateway timeout error. I have changed the browser to be internet explorer and to firefox but this does not seem to make a difference.
I have also loaded Opera mini on the phone and this browser works under 3G, so this leads me to believe that there is a setting wrong under BB browser but I have not idea what it is. I have also tried Bolt browser BUT it does not work. So only Opera works under 3G
I am in Canada under the Fido network Can any help and give me some constructive advice on how to get this to work. I prefer to use the BB browser if i can since it is much faster than Opera Mini.
FibrolanI found a work around for my situation.... I had my DVR set for web monitoring via TCP port 100. As it turns out, the Blackberry (Bold 9650) will not function properly if I used port 100. There is no reason why it shouldn't function, however, it doesn't. I had to re-arrange some other web services that I had running to free up port 80. I then put my DVR to port 80 and the Bold 9650 works just fine. I reported the fix\workaround to BB and their response was the generic (thanks..glad you got it going...we won't be looking into it any further) response. Their "course of action" regarding this issue was left blank.
Hope this works for you......

Certain url's give 504 gateway timeout.
A particular site our company regularly uses works fine on our old system but through BM3.9 I get 504 Gateway Errors. I have tried turning off all filters and access rules but it makes no difference. The URL is
http://www.coins-global.com/
the site automatically redirects to this
http://www.coins-global.com/cp_root/...f_Service/648/
so I assume BM cant interpret this properly. Is there a way around this ?
Thanks.JeffSheehan wrote:

1. i think your analysis is not accurate. first connection will be on
port 80. If you're talking about source ports, 4674-4679 are correct
2. If you see a tcp refused coming into bm, it means bm is trying to
open the connection and somebody is refusing it. Nothing you can do in
bm as bm is already trying to establish it. Check in the tcp refuse
packet, in the ip header the ttl value. That will give you the distance
between bm and the host refusing the connection. Based on that you can
have an idea about which device is causing the failure
3. 302 move is an http header that redirect browser to another location.
Some appliance as Trend micro, strip the data of the packet and send the
302 header only but without modifying the content-length, making that an
invalid packet. If bm gets it, it will discarded
4. Content-length is the amount of http data the web server will send in
reply to a request. If CL and real data do not match, bm will refuse the
packet as it is invalid and it can causes attacks unless you instruct
proxy via a proxy.cfg switch to ignore the check.

In the past week, my husband and I have both been getting a lot of these when linking to websites or websites within FB. My email has also been slow to load (if it loads at all).
Initially, I thought it was the new OS (that I had the misfortune of downloading) that i hate and blame everything on but my husband has the old operating system and is getting the same errors.
But my iPad connection is fine.
We both have iphone4 (3G) and live in San Diego. I saw someone with the same problem from San Diego post in the blackberry group so at this point, I don't know if it's a verizon thing, a San Diego thing, a lack of 4g thing, or an old iPhone problem, but it's really annoying.Thank you for reaching out to us, 8277.
We would be glad to see what is going on with the error message you are getting. First, we would like to know if this is still happening.
If so, ensure WiFi is disabled. I am unsure as to which device you are using, but I see you tagged iPhone so I would also like you to clear temporary internet files
http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/64615/&lid=sayt&sayt=iphone%20clea*.
Please let me know how that works.

Mac mini w/Apache surfaces 504 gateway error w/mobile devices
Hello,
I have a Mac Mini and I have Apache 2.0 driving 2 domains. All works well from either a PC or a Mac.
If I try accessing this content which is XHTML compliant from a mobile device using at times but not always a WAP2 browser, it times out with a "504 Gateway timeout" error.
Any ideas? I can take the same tree of content, place it on a linux server, and all can see it no problemo, so I'm feeling it's an OSX/Mini configuration issue.
Thanks,

Gateway Timeout error when running JSP page in 10.1.3 preview
I am unable to run a JSF JSP page with nothing in it but text. I get an error in the browser:
Gateway Timeout
The following error occurred:
[code=GATEWAY_TIMEOUT] A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request.
The url is:
http://82.123.84.247:8988/ListProto2-ViewController-context-root/faces/test.jsp
My laptop uses DHCP and 82.123.84.247 is currently my IP address. If I change the url to use localhost instead of the IP address, the page displays without error. I tried changing Tools -> Preferences -> Web Browser and Proxy to exclude the proxy for 82.123.84.247 (localhost was already excluded), but this didn't help.
I saw a post from a year ago where someone had the same problem with an earlier version of JDev, so I don't think it is specific to the preview release. It must be some kind of setup problem. Unfortunately, no one responded to the other post.Hi Vicki,
Under the main menu, pick:
Tools | Embedded OC4J Server Preferences
and visit the "Startup" panel in that dialog.
For the "Host Name or IP Address Used to Refer to the Embedded OC4J" field, click the (*) Specific Host Name option, and type in "localhost" for the host name.
That usually fixes it for me. -
Hi
While i displaing a WEBI report i just faced a problem like
"504 Gateway Time-out". Could anyone give me some suggestions regarding how can i solve this type of error ?
Any suggestion would be highly appriciated...HI,
Is this happening only for a particular report? If yes, please re-publish this report.
Otherwise it looks like a network issue.
Thanks

NOKIA N95 WIFI GATEWAY/TIMEOUT
ive been trying to connect to my homw router heres what ive tried ? i only get gateway time out , or connection timeout
Attepts at repairing
set access point manualy + via wizard,
Phone and router firmware fully updated,
"power Saving" turned off,
tryed using no wed/wpa seurity attal,
and wep or wpa , still nothing ?
Anyone ideas ?Is there MAC access control on your wireless router? If so, key *#62209526# (ie: *#mac0wlan#) into your N95 and this will give you the phone's WLAN MAC address. Then add this address to the list of authorised MAC addresses in your router.

The issue I am having is I am testing a iPad to work through smoothwall filtering. The error I am receiving when I attempt to access either the AppStore or the iTunes Store is "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" so I have checked the logs on smoothwall and nothing is being blocked however courier.push.apple.com is getting a 504 gateway timeout error. Gatway Timeout Error Only on Verizon?
I'm using the USB720 modem. Since yesterday morning I have been getting a 504 gateway timeout error when trying to access my own website. Strange, huh? The thing is everyone else can see it fine, but I get the error every time. Using both the modem and my iPhone. I connected to a store's wifi yesterday and loaded my site fine. That makes it sound like an a problem with Verizon doesn't it? I have contacted my host site and they told me that it wasn't a problem on their end. I'm very frustrated because I can't even access my dashboard or anything. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Lorilaws,
I understand your concerns regarding the 504 Gateway Timeout error. Please not that this is an HTTP status code that means that one server did not receive a response from another server that it was accessing while attempting to load the web page or fill another request by the browser. This usually means that a server is down or not working properly. Since you are able to access other websites the issue is not related to the USB720 device as it is providing access to the internet and other websites properly.
The 504 Gateway Timeout error is a network error between servers on the Internet and the problem is not with your PC or Internet connection(USB720). This issue cannot be resolved by troubleshooting your device.
Usually, refreshing the web page by clicking the refresh/reload button or trying the URL from the address bar again will/may resolve the issue.
Since the 504 Gateway Timeout error message is an issue with the web site's network or a server that it communicates with, trying to access this particular website at a later time will/may be successful.
