50L3400U has no ClearScan 120Hz ON and Off feature.

I bought this Toshiba 50L3400U in May 2014 and I'm very picky when it comes down to features functionality, I did a picture calibration, I tweaked all the settings to my likings, updated the tv's firmware.. But I noticed when I watch sports or a fast pace movie, I see refresh rate issues.. so I go back to the menu and turn Cinema Mode On, however I do not find that it makes any difference, whether is On or off.. Also the ClearScan feature is not in the menus.. I want to know how to get 120Hz without using "ClearScan" because is not in the menus, yet its advertised on the box and on the website as an ON and Off feature that anyone have access too from the menus.. I researched the web and read some where that ClearScan turns ON when you turn Cinema Mode ON ... But my gripe is, when I turn Cinema Mode ON it doesnt do anything.. its the same as if was off .. I toggle between ON and Off with no results.. This model needs some software updates to add the ClearScan 120Hz feature to the menu and enable Cinema Mode..

This may sound the same as my previous comment, and I agreed with what you said but I want to know if my Toshiba 50L3400U led tv has this feature as some call it the "Soap Opera effect" .. its when you're watching a movie and is as if you're watching a "Reality TV Show" or a "Soap Opera" it removes that shade of gray effect that movies tend to have and makes it look smoother.. Some people dont like this (Soap Opera effect) feature because they claim that movies look fake.. but somehow I enjoy and like this feature.. I was convinced that by enabling ClearScan (which is nowhere to be found) it would make things smoother ..so clean that by watching a movie I was going to get that Soap Opera effect that so many TV's have these days .. In fact on this website it claims that this TV has ClearScan 120hz on the main menu as a On and Off feature, a separate feature of its own.. a feature that would enable to double the refresh rate thru hardware processing. I also noticed by enabling "Cinema Mode" On ..I dont see that it makes any changes, whether I watch a movie on blu ray, Netflix, HBO, ShowTime etc.. Yet my neighbor is watching a random movie on a random channel on a diff brand tv, I can see the "Soap Opera Effect".. As some claim that "ClearScan 120hz" is within Cinema Mode .. why not make it simple with a software or firmware update, just add a dropbox, by clicking on Cinema Mode a dropbox open, Click ClearScan to enable if you so desire. Because as of now Cinema Mode and " if " ClearScan is under Cinema Mode when enable they're not making any changes nor diff no matter what I use to watch movies on... I came across a problem (bug?) while playing with the failover feature (JDev9052).
I have an AM pool with just one instance and two browsers. Failover is not set.
My test:
1.: First browser moves through the Dept list.
2.: Second browser moves through the dept list to another position.
3.: First browser wants to move to next page.
--> Exception JBO-33035
I switched Failover on and repeated the test. No exception, everything is fine.
I have rebuild the demo with JDev 904 and the test works fine without any exception!
I have found the paper "Generic Approach for Back-Button-Friendly Web Rowset Paging" (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/paging/index.html) and changed
Enable Token Validation property to FALSE (Failover=false). I do not use the BACK button.
I repeated the test and got another exception: JBO-25013: Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[10 ].
My net result of my tests is that I do not dare to set failover=false in my apps. :-(
Maybe I not understand how to use the failover feature.
Please let me know how to fix that problem.

You'll need to give more information on how the error occurred.
This error is related to the state token when the mid-tier discovers the client-tier has independently navigated to another page (potentially via a browser cache) without notifying the mid-tier. When the client-tier finally communicates with the mid-tier passing an earlier out of date state token, the mid-tier detects that the state token is out of sync with what it thinks the client-tier should be returning. Thus the mid-tier raises this error.
There are a number of scenarios in which this problem can occur, and as such you need to detail how you raised this error.
For more information research the "state token" concept in the JDeveloper documentation.

Help! iPhone freezing, not responding, and turning itself on and off randomly.

Over the last few days, my iPhone has been going crazy. It all started when I turned on my phone one morning, and the ringer did not work. It told me that headphones were in when I tried to turn the volume up. Later in the day, I plugged my iPhone into my iHome. It then "died" and would not turn on. I tried everything (hard reboot, dfu mode, plugging in wall and computer, etc.) and nothing would turn it on. The next day, I tried to turn it on, and to my surprise, it loaded the "low battery" icon. i plugged it in, and it turned on. It then randomly shut off ten minutes later. It would not turn on, but it allowed me to put it into dfu mode. I downloaded the os and attempted to restore the iPhone. It shut itself off several times and took many attempts until I finally got it restored. Now, it has been turning itself on and off. I got it to turn on, and I used it until it froze. It shut itself off and reboot. It has continued to do this over and over again. I am concerned because my iPhone is out of warranty, and I live far away from anywhere where I can get it fixed. I have no idea what happened to my phone as I did not drop it or expose it to water. Is there any way to fix this? Is there a way to find what part may be broken? If not, what is the cheapest and fastest method of fixing this and is anyone else having the same problems? My phone is currently unusable because I can not turn it on (it only turns on randomly) and it freezes and shuts off a few minutes after it turns on.

Does it power back on by itself straight after turning off? If so I would probably suggest that either the charging port is faulty or maybe it is partially blocked with debris causing a possible short circuit across the pins. Try giving it a clean out first with something none metallic and might just do the trick.

I have an ipad wi-fi cellular 32gb. Died in march after 3 month has been replaced now the replacement has died, holding home key and button on top doesnt work at all, not even if left over night and the next day and night, still nothing.

I was given a ipad after xmas 2012. Within a month it was freezing up and returned to apple to replace. It was sent straight back to me saying it was fine. The day I got it back it was faulty again only this time it was worse, it was switching itself off and turning itself back on when it liked. A back up and restore was completed AGAIN. 3 weeks later it was sent straight back to apple to be replaced, this time a higher authority from apple in brisbane said it was to be replaced immediately. Which it was. Then within 6 weeks this ipad the replacemetn ipad has started having issues by turing itself off. Now it has completely shut itself down and off. Charge was at 81%. I put it on charge as maybe the %% was wrong. A few hours later, tried turning it on by holding top button, nothing happened I have also held down top button and home key for 10 sec, nothing so I tried longer nothing happened. Rang apple support and they have suggested holding top button down for 10 sec then add home key for 10 sec both top button and home for 10 sec then they top button off followed by leaving home key for 10 sec by itself. This did not work. I have tried this again this morning and again at lunch at work and again now tonight. Still nothing at all. Even plugging it into the computer doesn't do anything at all. Has anyone else come across this at all with two ipads doing exactly the same thing. My power points are fine, I've had an electrician check them and my computer is fine aswell. I stumped as to what can be going wrong. Thanks

My ipad 2 keeps turning itself on and off, why?

Alright, so I finally decided to update my ipad. I went to settings, pressed update and the ipad screen told me to connect it to itunes. I connected it to itunes, and it said i had to restore my system. It supposedly updated, but while it was restoring, I accidently took the usb off. Ever since then my ipad has been forever turning on and off, starting with the black screen, brightening up showing the apple sign, and back to the black screen again in a never ending cycle. I've tried taking it off regularly and it fails to work. I've tried plugging it back into my computer and itunes, and it doesnt show up there for some apparent reason. The only reason I could get it to stop is when I hold down the power and home button together, and it turns off. Whenever i plug it back into anything, as in the wall charger or computer, it then again repeats its never ending cycle. Can someone please help me out? I've had this ipad for about 5 months now, and have never experienced a problem like this.

Try turning off the iphone by tolding the sleep button and slide to power off. Then turn it on again by holding the said button. Sounds like a glitch and the iphone needs a revamping.

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me, my phone has started switching itself on and off constantly, i really dont want to have to send it off as i have a very important video file on there that needs to be shown to my daughters pediatrician:-( and i know they will restore the factory settings and delete everything, but the phone is not staying on long enough for me to do anything with it, let alone transfer any files, and the computers not picking it up either when i plug it in!

Is it switching off & on without stop??!! anyway, if you have the chance to back up your data then restore factory settings or even using bluetooth to send that video to other phone first, if it's really not responding as you're saying, maybe a power cycle could be useful: turn off the phone by keeping the power button down until you feel 3quick vibrations and turn it back on after 1min, if your phone doesn't support this option, hmm... while am writing this i've had an idea you maybe changed where your camera should save pics so you might have it already on your MC, if not maybe anybody else here have better solution.

I can be playing music and it will just shut down and restart. I have wiped it and reset it to factory settings. I have nevr dropped it or dunked it in water or any other liquid. I actually only had 50 songs and an audiobook on there, nothing else. Any help please?

You may have done some of the steps outlined in it already, but I still would recommend doing the troubleshooting 1 step at a time from the top down.

HT4061 I can't use my ipad mini. All buttons are frozen including the on and off, can't even find the serial number, can't see it on the back, can't find it under settings because no buttons will work. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

My ipad mini is frozen and won't allow me to use any buttons. I can't access settings to get the serial number for Apple Support and I can't read the serial number from the back. It's too small and shadowy. There is a message that reads "ICloud Backup--This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
It won't allow me to shut if off using the on and off button. I stuck a paper clip into the tiny reset button, but nothing happens.
Has anyone else had this problem? Please help,

This is the most common "fix" when devices are behaving strangely. It only takes a minute and there's no risk of lost data. This is the reason you'll see this fix being suggested so often.

The repair disc option (using install disc) failed, and the computer cannot locate the original Mac side partition. Only Bootcamp appears under options to "restore from backup" or reinstall. The repair disc options says it should be repaired but doesn't seem to know how.

Hold c or option key and boot off the 10.6 installer disk, run DU Repair from there.

If it doens't work, you can recover files if you don't have any current OS X file backups, then grab what you can out of Bootcamp
Use Data Rescue installed on the extenral boot drive ($100) to read the bits of the internal (non-filevaulted) drive to retrieve OS X data files if you can't get them off manually via drag and drop methods.
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
If you want to clone Windows, use WinClone and another drive. However it's likely compromised, unless it something you did in Windows, like trying to create a new parttition perhaps?
Then perform a Zero Erase and install of 10.6 as shown here (on the entire drive, not only the parittions), this will give a new GUID partition table, EFI and map off bad sectors, totally fresh everything.

You cna use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the new extenral setup to the new scrubbed internal drive. Recreate Bootcamp and WinClone back or fresh install Windows into Bootcamp like before. OR opt to use virtual machine software which is safer.
