5110 - DAU-9P Cable drivers

Hi,
I am trying to use an old 5110 for bulk SMS's, but the software I'm trying to use suggests that in order to use such a cable, I need to install the drivers for the cable first so that it can send AT commands direct to the phone. It's an original Nokia DAU-9P Cable with a DB9 (9-pin serial) connector. I need to use this cable with the phone because no other options are feasible for the project (e.g. Clickatell gateway, newer phone, etc). I have tried the software with a 5100 using a prolific cable (USB, appears as COM3) and this works, but because of the expense of a new phone like this in Zimbabwe, I cannot use one. If anyone knows where I can get the Drivers for the cable it would be much appreciated, otherwise if anyone could help with identifying the oldest phone that would work with a USB DKU-5 cable or similar.
The software I am trying to use is called "SMS Reception Center" and it copies the SMS from the phone immediately upon reception then deletes it, so memory space can be minor (e.g. 5 spaces for SMS's), and for this reason the 5110 was a perfect choice. Help please...

I can´t help you, sorry. Only to say that my old Nokia 6150, from 10-1998 still works without any fail! And on all that time, it was only necessary change once the battery for a new one, and it keep´s working. Great phone.

Hi,
Are the CA-42 cable drivers compatible with Windows 8 available?
The ones that I have on a CD worked with Windows XP, but I don't think they'll be good for Windows 8.

This rules out PC Suite and Nokia Suite, and allows us to concentrate on the USB cable driver. If no modem was listed for your phone, please, attach your Nokia 6610i and have a look at the USB devices. Is there any yellow mark? Context-click on that and refresh its driver. I can't see a "Software" category in Control Panel in Windows 8, so I can't check the version of my Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver.
Do you mean "Uninstall or change a program" in Control Panel?
No modem in Device Manager after connecting the phone. Does it need to be created? As far as I remember from Windows XP, no modem was created and the connection was initiated and worked OK.
No USB devices with a yellow mark, either.
The cable is, in fact, DKU-5, but it worked fine with this 6610i on Windows XP.
I read on other forums that you have to install virtual COM port emulation drivers for this cable.
I have the drivers on the original CD that came with the cable, and they were installed on Windows XP (x32) a few years ago and worked OK, but I don't think they will be compatible with Windows 8 (x64). Am I right?
Please note that I don't need a connection with a PC to use internet. I just need to transfer data (mainly text messages) from the phone to a PC

Nokia 6210 Nav, PC Connectivity Cable Drivers

When trying to connect my 6210 to my PC it takes about an hour or more and it says it is installing the PC Connectivity Drive. After all this it seems to only stay connected for a short time and then drops out. Can anyone offer help? Thanks

if you're on vista then it's common for this OS to take very long time to install drivers. but that should happen the first time you connect the phone only, after installation the phone should connect without problems after that.
anyway,1- try to remove your version of nokia pc suite
2- run a registery cleaner if you have one
3- download the latest version of nokia pc suite
4- install the app, wait for it complete and ask for a reboot.
5- reboot the pc, connect the device.
if you experiance any problems with driver installation again, stop automatic search of drivers , and direct the search to (c:\program files\nokia\connectivity cable drivers) that should speed the installation.

PC suite - Cable drivers not installed???

After installing the PC suite VER 6.82.22.0, though PC recognizes N70 phone, the PC suite does not get connected. When clicked 'About PC suite' and 'system info', message cable drivers not installed is found. However, if checked in the control panel, the drivers are found installed. The earlier version did not have any problems. Can any body solve this.

I'm a bit surprised that the only supported Linux distros are commercial (costing money) distros!
What's the point in providing Linux support for your tools then. The overwhelming majority of Linux users use free distros like Mint, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora etc.
I had exactly the same problem and now I'm forced to BUY a Linux distro in order to build PetaLinux?
Anyway, a) are there any plans to support these tools on the more popular (free) distros? and b) Does anyone know if we can use CentOS 6, since that's supposed to be a community (free) clone of the supported (but not free) RHEL 6 distro?
Anyone know of an 'unsuported' Linux distro that 'works' anyway (especially for the cable drivers)?
It LOOKS as if that one cable driver install issue is the only thing preventing us from using a boat load of other distros. Can't this be fixed?

Connectivity Cable Drivers: Not Installed???

I have installed the PC Suite 6.82; I have installed the Nokia Software Updater 1.1.40en; I have perfectly synchronised my Nokia N73 using PC Suite, but it still can't be discovered by the NSU. When I tried to look up why this problem had appeared, I found in the System Info given to me by the PC Suite that Connectivity Cable Drivers had not been installed. I checked in Control Panel - they WERE there. Anyway, I decided that uninstalling and reinstalling PC Suite and NSU will solve the issue, but it didn't. I still CAN synchronise the phone and CAN'T get it discovered by the NSU and thus - update its firmware.

USB Cable drivers expired certificates

Trying to create an msi for a silent unattend install of Vivado 15.2 on Win 7x64 and I'm having a problem installing the USB cable drivers in that after installing a "Progam compatibility Assistant" window appears that states "Windows requires a digitally signed driver". Having checked the certificates installed I can see that both certificates from Jungo and Xilinx expired on 2011 and 2008 respectively. How do I go about resolving this?

I suggest you to try the steps mentioned in the section "Batch Mode Installation Flow" to install Vivado 2015.2 from the following user guide: http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2015_2/ug973-vivado-release-notes-install-license.pdf

Nokia 7610 and a DKU-2 cable drivers.

I installed the drivers for the DKU-2 cable but there was no connection when i installed pc suite. I tried installing new drivers and it tried deleting the old drivers, but it didnt work and the old drivers are not uninstalling now. Ive tried unistalling from add/remove programs but it just says that the version you are trying to install is older than the installed one.
anyone got any idea how i can uninstall the driver?

ok, i did some searching and found out, now ive reinstalled the driver and installed the correct version of the pc suite for my phone, and its still not working.

Cable drivers installed properly?

I have read the cableconnection problems on this forum, that people including me get the errormessage "unrecognized usb device".
We try every method but no success.
So I am thinking that the drivers may not be installed properly, and when I look at the inf-files in the ...nokia\connectivity cable driver - folder I assume that the sys-files in that folder should be in the windows\system32\drivers folder.
But I don´t see those sys-files in the ..system32\drivers folder, so maybe there was a problem autoinstalling the drivers.
Maybe we need to manually install the drivers. Any ideas or suggestions what to do?

I want you to know that since you cant get it done through ovi suite,then you are to get your nokia PC suit by:- firstly you are to open your nokia pc suit,then click on the connect a phone,then you click on the cable connection OR if your laptop has a bluetooth,then you open your laptop bluetooth and then you on your phone bluetooth to connect to the pc suite.It will connect automatically and the other way as soon as you click on the cable connection then click next to connect the device,On your phone then choose pc suite so as to connect immediately............
Do it these way an i tell you it will work and also the OVI suite will connect directly from there...I use nokia 5230! So try it and see..

Usb to ide cable drivers????

Do i need drivers to connect an old HD from my broken pc laptop to my new Imac?
I thought it would just plug and play but having spent the money now on a cable nothing happens when i set it up. Any help, tips would be much appreciated.

to be honest i only have the one drive and that is why i bought the new mac because i was TOLD that the drive was ok and it was in fact the motherboard on my lap top that was no good. i took the HD to a pc shop and they tested it as ok. I did not look until after i unwrapped the cable from its plastic box that it says only supported by windows. Having seen these types of cables advertised on the net i have seen them with mac support or drivers.Why would i even need drivers???

Windows 2000 and Nokia Cable Drivers and PC Suite

Appears Nokia does not support Windows 2k. Even though their web page states the USB Cable CA-101 driver, Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver_rel_7_0_2_0_eng.msi, per their line "Nokia Cable Driver for Windows 2000, XP and Vista" on the web page says so. frustrating. Already aware that PC Suite version 7 is not supported in Win2k.
Is there a driver out there for the USB Cable CA-101 that will connect to the phone running Windows 2000? and allow at least the sd memory card be accessed for data transfer and other functions? thank you.

Which device are you using? Do you have CD that came along with your device? Could you please Search(Google) for Nokia PC Suite 6.85 or 6.86 nokia pc suite version and install on your pc to check this issue?

Error installing pc suite/nokia cable drivers/noki...

hi..i'm using windows xp service pack 2,my phone is a nokia 5700MX on firmware version:3.83.1
i had the nokia pc suite version 6.82 installed on my pc but accidentally deleted some nokia pc suite files(common files),so i decided to uninstall and reinstall the newer pc suite version 7.
i tried to manually delete the program files and registry entries but that was too much to handle so i used REVO uninstaller to completely remove the pc suite files and reg. entries from my pc.
now whenever i try to install pc suite version 7, i receive two consecutive error messages:
1-"UninstPCSFEMsi.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".
2-"installation operation failed.the windows installer service could not be accessed.this can occur if you are running windows in safe mode,or if windows installer is not correctly installed.contact your support personnel for assistance".
and that's the same case whenever i try to install nokia software updater or nokia cable driver but with only the second message.
i re-installed the windows installer but still no good,so i tried that nokia pc suite cleaner version 3.6 with every option available in it..no good! but i attached the log to this message ,maybe it'll help u help me !

If your intension is to install the latest PC on your PC, uinstall Nokia PC Suite(if any), PC Connectivity solution, Nokia Connectivity cable driver Run Nokia PC Suite clenaer and then install Nokia PC Suite latest switch off/on the PC and then try to connect your mobile now... Best of Luck

Installation hangs / Cable Drivers

i just cannot install the PC-Suite 6.83. Every time i start the installer it hangs at 65% / 21% when it says its installing the "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver".
I already tried to install the Cable Driver - but that installation hangs too. There is a file called "setupext.exe" which seems to cause the problem.
Does anyone can help me ?

Installation hangs at either 7, 79 or so % of "Nokia connectivity cable driver".
Can't pass over it. An installation starts in the background, but never finishes, I left it like 2 hours there. I also tried killing it (complains a part of the setup never ended gracefully and aborts).
Installing NCCD by itself doesn't help. Nothing else I could think of worked. I'm puzzled.
Another thing is, it works at work (XP), but hangs here (2k SP4) - on a side note, the work version says no updates are available. This version just hangs checking for updates until I stop it. Odd thing is, I'm optical fibered in both locations, I'm 17 ms away from Nokia.com and over a 3 MB dedicated connection. I have a 10 MB dedicated OF link at work.
How can it not work? The Setup hogs the CPU for like 5 secs, then cools down and just sits there.
Can't I just pass a /nocable to it or something? Just pass the NCCD, I can do that myself. Or afterwards. Or something.
I have no Roxio or any other similar products, like an AV program. Clues?

Xpressmusic 5800 usb cable drivers ?

Hi all, im having a nightmare trying to get my xp pro pc to recognise my old 5800 xpressmusic.
YES i have searched and searched and YES i have already installed the latest pc suite - which wont recognise my phone
can anyone help me out with a link to a driver please ??
All the other threads just seem to point to the pc suite and then get closed

If you attached your Nokia phone to your computer before you had installed any driver, please, go to the Windows Device Manager, right click on the WMC Phone Parent and refresh the driver. Did that help?
