Hii
i use a NOKIA 5230....
I recently Downloaded the new OVi SUITE
THen i updated the company built-in maps in the phone
While updating i CANCELLED THE PROCESS
now i don't have the old company's built in  maps
i need the company built-in maps coz it has all features
please suggest me a way
now  i installed INDIA maps in it,,,, all places r not coming in it as it came before updating

No i don't think you should do the hard reset, i remember first time when i decided to use the Ovi suite to update my maps, it wouldn't work, i just kept trying till finally downloaded all the maps to my N8, i'd say maybe uninstall the maps on your device and install it again and then try to download the files through ovi suite. good luck

  • 5230 software update problems

Hi, My phone wont download the latest update through ovi because not enough power in the battery even though it has just finished charging and it wont load through the device because lack of memory even though it has plenty and there is nothing left to delete. Is this a common problem with the 5230 as everything else appears to be with nokia going by these forums.
ps do nokia ever answer any emails to there support centres.
    thanks in advance

Have you tried update thru' OVI Suite with the charger connected at the same time ?

Most likely your Nokia device cannot connect to the Internet or the server is not available. Internet connectivity problems may have several causes, such as a temporary network failure in the operator's network or Internet, or missing or incorrect access point settings for the device updates (or web browser) application. Remember that if your device supports it, you can also use WiFi to connect to the Internet and update.
You also need to have Update Server settings programmed into your device. These can be operator-specific settings (contact your operator for help), or standard Nokia settings as shown below:
Key *#0000# into your phone's home screen or go to Device manager (consult your user guide if necessary).

  • X6 OVI Maps Update Problem

I recently bought new X6 and connected to my Laptop (windows 7 Professional) running latest Nokia Ovi Suite version 2.2.1.23 to check for update. I updated the available updates for the software including OVI Maps successfully. Then tried to check for updated maps data. I got message the updated maps are available and was prompted to update. It deleted all existing maps data and failed to update new maps data. Now after several trials I am unable to download maps data thru OVI suite and have to download only thru data package or wireless connection. I even tried un-installing and re-installing OVI Suite and even tried deleting Cities folder manually and then again running maps application in mobile to create new directory but all in vain. I am still unable to download maps data thru OVI suite and PC suite (I tried with latest PC suite as well). Same problem, I am experience with my N95. Please advise solutions if any.

Delete cities folder as well as the qf one... and retry with PC Suite after rebooting the phone......if this is of no use.. Download the Maps installer from
http://maps.nokia.com/services-and-apps/ovi-maps and install on your phone and then download maps...

  • E6 - map update problem

    Hi,
Today I updated the map software (it was a 16mb file). After the update, map is not working as expected. Now when I press map icon, it opens the map of the locality (with 'searching for position' on top). It is not giving the options to choose drive/ walk/ favorites etc.
Practically map is of no use now. Can somebody please help?
    Thanks, Regi

    @Regi
Whilst in Nokia Maps application can you tap on "cogs icon" at base of screen > Extras > About Maps > Versions - is it v3.08_11wk47_b04?
If you want to revert to v3.06 un-install as many as these as applicable using the Application Manager:
    Check In
    Check In Agent
    Check In Data
    Check In Widget
    Create a Place
    Drive
    Guides
    Headless Map and Navigation
    Map and Navigation
    Map Apps
    Maps Settings Plugin
    ODML Commons Repository
    Nokia (Ovi) Maps
    Nokia (Ovi) MapsEngine
    Nokia (Ovi) Maps Installer
    Nokia (Ovi) Maps ODML
    Weather
(Helpful Hint: Unistallation process is faster if you uninstall “Ovi Maps” and “Ovi Maps ODML” first.)
    Install v3.06 from here:http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/ovi_maps_installer_3.06_11wk23_b05_tb9.2_...
I have placed "Weather" in italics as I did not want to remove but keep Weather widget on homescreen!

  • CoPilot USA Map Maintenance Update Problem

i'm having a problem with CoPilot USA map maintenance updates. I check for updates and get a notice of a map maintenance update. I download the update and stop then restart CoPilot. CoPilot gives an indication that the map update has been processed. I turn off CoPilot. But when I restart CoPilot again and check for updates, it tells me there is a map maintenance update.
Anybody else run across this problem? More importantly, anybody find a fix?
    Thanks,

    Thanks for answer.

    Hi viper_01
Nokia Maps Updater application no longer works and you should use OVI Suite on PC now.

  • UK map update causing apps to crash

I updated the UK map this morning on my Nokia 520. Now both the Here Maps and Here Drive apps crash after loading. I have reinstalled the apps and rebooted the phone but the problem persists. Here Maps still works with other downloaded maps, e.g. Turkey.

I'm still having a problem after downloading the recent UK offline map update. Whenever I get directions, it plots a route to the destination but still carries on wih the 'getting directions...' loading bar and the app crawls to a halt.
If I delete the offline map the app works fine, so it's down to the the map update and possibly the fact I have a Nokia 720, what is now classed as a low memory device.
I'd rather have the offline map installed to save data if possible.

  • Ovi map update failure

    Hi,
I connected my X6 to OVI suite on my PC and it informed that there were updates.
So I went to updates and selected the optional updates in which it showed that there is an update of OVI maps. Since I was not interested in all other optional updates i selected this one and started the update. After downloading the update, the update started and after a few minutes I got an error message: "Update failed: an internal error occurred"
My OVI maps version is 3.04 and firmware version of X6 is 32.0.002. I know that my OVI suite is not the latest version but that cannot be the problem.
I can update maps without problems, also delete and add are no problem, but changing from OVI maps 3.04 to 3.06 always fails (have tried is several times, also disconnecting the phone, resetting it etc...).
    Why does the update fails????
    Regards,
    Rene

    @Moma13
Perhaps posting which device with what firmware version you have run into issues with would be helpful here. Resetting device to "Out of box" state and/or re-installing exisiting device software using Tools > Software updates > Re-install within Nokia Suite upon PC will resolve most issues.
Nokia Maps v3.06 & later use mapping 0.2.46.103 whereas Ovi Maps v3.01, 3.03 & 3.04 use 0.1.28.107 so old set of mapping would have to be replaced anyway as part of update.
Sometimes installing Nokia Maps v3.06 provided there is enough free phone memory (>20MB) can entail removal of more files as in this post:http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Ovi-Maps-v3-06-File-Not-Found-Installation-E...

  • Nokia 5630 XM Maps Updater Error Cannot get enough...

    Hi experts,
I have unsolved problem until now. I have Nokia 5630 (buy in Czech Republic), I updated to lastest firmware 012.020 and after that I can´t connected with Nokia maps updater (it shows the announcement like topic - see attached file). I try hard to reset and many, many things but without positive results. Is it this problem solvable?I want to use Nokia maps and I don´t. I want to buy Nokia GPS modul but it is useless in this time. It must be any solution from Nokia company.
Thank you for your solution and I hope in any advices

It works OK on the nokia 5630 s603rd! Here is the whole package -----> http://chomikuj.pl/krzysiukrz?fid=142502794. Download the packed file. Unpack. First install the base package maps 2.0 and after 3.0  (read my text). By ovi suite (not the loader maps) go to map and load the map. I went back to what I had before hard format: smileytongue:

  • Map Update Why Oh Why is there is never enough mem...

    How stupid is map update?
Every time there is an update I am not allowed to do it as their is not enough memory free on C:
However after I uninstall lots of apps and remove maps it will install
    Then I re-install all the apps I un-installed and re-download the maps
Can you not make it clever enough to remove the old map app before updating to the new one!

My 5230 has now 25Mb free on the C: drive but still the update claims it runs out of memory. Very annoying, specially since I have next to nothing installed into phone memory. All music, pictures, apps etc. are on the memory card.
The memory status states there's 29Mb worth of "other files" which I have no idea what they might be. Also the current 3.04 version of Maps shows twice in the app list: "Nokia Maps" (7Mb) and "Ovi Kartat" (8Mb). Are both of these needed?
EDIT: After I managed to make 30Mb free space to C: the update finaly went through. This is pretty ridiculous amount since that's nearly half the of 5230 internal memory while the size of the Maps app is still just 8Mb!

  • Next maps update on the phone?

Does anybody know if the next maps update (on the phone) is already scheduled?
I'll be travelling on the next week and I noticed that Nokia Maps 3.09 data for a city I'll be passing by is outdated.
    See the map here: http://maps.nokia.com/-26.0837373,-53.0294703,13,0,0,normal.day
On Nokia Maps 3.09 on my C6-01, there is no connection between roads 180 and 483. As my route follows road 483 to the west, it goes through Francisco Beltrao city streets instead.
Attached image: how the route appear on my phone.
    Best.

    Hi bearshare,
    Thanks for your post.
Maps are usually updated (when needed) four times a year and are made available through Nokia Suite. If you find any incorrect map data you can report this to the NAVTEQ mapreporter from where this can be verified and corrected if needed.
    Hope this helps,
    Kosh

  • How frequently are maps updated?

(Caveat: I use the OVI map loader software on my PC to upload maps to my phone / it's data-card).
Roughly how often are the maps updated - I've noticed that everytime I go in to the map loader program, I always get the option to download the same maps (UK) and the only time it tells me I have them already (same for the voices for that matter) is immediately after I've downloaded them to the phone (memory card).
If I do the same thing a day or two later, it doesn't tell me that the maps I'm downloading (or voices) are the same version that are already on my phone (/memory card)?

    psychomania wrote:
I take it you are using a model that doesn't have wi-fi? I'm not a fan of map loader for the same reasons as you described. I also find it very slow, even on a high end PC so being able to update maps direct from the phone using wi-fi is a very welcome addition.
Without wi-fi I can imagine this feature isn't that great unless you've got a decent data plan.
    Yes, no WiFi - 5230.
At some point in the future (when current contract ends) will probably have the option to include a data plan, but for the next 5 or 6 months, I'd have to pay a daily charge.
