I am using the Nokia Ovi Navigation a lot, in fact I used it for 3 weeks in the United States in direct comparion with Garmin (latest map software), and the Nokia cme out top! Now to reduce the time to satellite fix, I invested in a Jentro BT-GPS-8-Bluetooth which very quickly finds a satellite fix. My problem now is that when I used only the integrated GPS, I got very clear and precise spoken instructions, but now when using the external GPS receiver I do not get the spoken instructions. All I did was alter the setting for the GPS source, I did not change the setting for spoken instructions, in fact when I check the settings it still says that I want the spoken instructions with street names.
Please, help me, because I really need both features, namely a fast satellite fix and spoken instructions with street names.

Hi, I had the same problems with my iPhone (2.01) and my TomTom 730T (8.010). I tried it several times, finally it worked. Maybe it really helped to delete the other phones from the TomTom and to turn on/off Bluetooth during theses procedures several times. The amazing thing was that 700 contact numbers synced within not even 10sec! My old SonyErcisson K750 takes years for only 30.

My iphone will no longer pair with my blue ant st3 bluetooth

We just upgraded an ipone 3 to an iphone5 and it will not pair with our blueant st3 bluetooth. My iphone4 is paired with my other blueant st3 and works fine. If I go into settings on my iphone4 and selett bluetooth it tells me the device is not compatiable and asks if i want to forget the device, after I reboot the iphone4, all is well. My iphone4 is running V6.0.1 and the iphone5 is running V6.1. Any suggestions?

You were just provided a link outlining the bluetooth capabilities of the iPhone. Since its introduction in 2007, the iPhone has never supported bluetooth file transfer. Just because it does not say it doesn't support it in the manual does not mean that it automatically does.

For those interested, i managed to get the Big Blue speaker to pair with my MBA. I thought I had tried this, but i went to the bluetooth icon and chose Set Up Bluetooth Device. It recognized the speaker and paired. Prior to that I was trying the Browse Device option, but that didn't work. Still nothing on the Jambox though.

Possibly - but, are you certain you are properly putting the Jawbone in discoverable mode? You must do that to pair it with the iPhone. A Jawbone headset certainly can be paired with the iPhone. Have you tried pairing any other headset with the iPhone?

An iPod can pair to an iPhone for tethering to the phones internet connection if the phone is subscribed to the optional tethering data plan. Handsfree Pairing with Acura TL Difficulties

My iPhone will not pair with my '06 Acura TL - I have tried the phone setup menus through the navi system but no joy...please can someone detail exactly how I do this. My problem is the car is not sending the pairing code to the phone. HELP I miss this connection so much.

The pairing code isn't sent to the iPhone from the car, so you need to get the handsfree system in your car to the point where it is looking for a paired device, or ready to accept one. Your car's user guide, or the one that came with the nav system if it is separate, will explain how to do this. It will also tell uoi what the pairing code is.
Once you have got the car to the right point, you then pick up your iPhone, go to settings, select general, then select Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is ON (the toggle at the top of the screen) and under that you will then see 'devices' and the little wheel spinning. when it finds the car's hardsfree system, it will ask you for the pairing code, which you've got from the car's manual. enter that and select OK, and it should pair up.
I don't have an Acura so I can't give you precise instructions, but the principle is the same for all these systems. And since the whole process takes no more than a few seconds usually, you may even be able to drop by your Acura dealership and ask them to show you.

Over Bluetooth? No way, unless you're sharing a Personal Hotspot over Bluetooth and all devices are syncing to shared accounts over the internet, but not peer-to-peer over Bluetooth.
If you think otherwise, please explain exactly how, and what apps were being used to sync texting, calendars, notes, reminders peer-to-peer over Bluetooth.

LiveView paired with phone in conjunction with BT headset/headphones ?

Can anyone advise if LiveView works while having a bluetooth headset/car kit paired at the same time?
If streaming music via bluetooth headphones - is pairing LiveView at the same time possible?
Does it impact performance of streaming audio?
I would imagine/hope that given the presumably limited data being sent to LiveView it should not be taking up too much bandwidth but would appreciate a response from someone who has the device and is able to provide feedback based on real experience. SE Support has not been helpful in even responding to this query - let alone answering it.

I have a HTC Desire HD (Android 2.2) paired with Altec Lansing BackBeat 903 bluetooth headphones.
I can confirm that I can still use phone (answer and long press function) and multimedia functions (play/pause/forward/back/volume).
My headset also does ring.
I'm not sure how to resolve your issue but perhaps un-pair the liveview or revert to factory default so you can restore your bluetooth headset functionality.
Then pair liveview (without installing software) and see if you still have headset functions.
Then LiveView application
(I would not bother with the LiveWare application as it is not really needed)

Ok, I've been testing Nokia Maps with my N73 and the Holux GPSlim 240. It is true that the pairing doesn't work but my device found the GPS device without any problem. So, it works, but not as it should be. Oh by the way, for some reason, now it's my PC which doesn't recognize my GPS device... With my N70 I've never experienced such problems...

IPod touch 3G (iOS 4) & pairing with original white Apple bluetoot keyboard

Hi,
I'm having trouble pairing my original Apple bluetooth keyboard (plastic white model) with the iPod touch 3G (upgraded to iOS 4). The iPod touch can see the keyboard but it doesn't pair with it. No passcode ever shows up. However, when I press the return key on the keyboard, a dialog box on the iPod touch pops up very quickly with the passcode that I should enter, and then it immediately pops up another dialog box to say it can't pair because wrong passcode was entered.
My iPod touch 3G can pair with my new aluminium Apple bluetooth keyboard though.
Any help with how to pair it with the original white plastic Apple bluetooth keyboard? I haven't been able to find a firmware update for the keyboard. Maybe there is one?

i jailbroke it though for testing apps a friend of mine made and its proved because ive also changed the boot logo and thats seen in the boot loop so the warranty thing might be now voided ive used it fine for 3 months this way until now
