my 5300 music player doesnot scan music files from my memory card it's only scan music fils from phone memory, I can play music files in my memory card from gallery
can someone help????

I'm having the same problem with my music player not working and have tried all the ways suggested but it still isn't working I was just wondering if anyone had any new idea's. The music player stopped working before due to too many messages and a lack of memory but that can't be the problem this time as i have deleted all messages on my phone, if anyone has any ideas they will be very welcome

my music player dosent work, th problem's not from th memoy card, coz i have removed th card and i have added a song to th phone memory and its th same problem. i made all kind of solution (installin th lastes software..). and nothin. So Please help me its make me crasy.......

does n70 come with pre loaded music???? i dont think so. and the tones cant be appeared in the music player because they are alredy set by nokia and they are availabe in profiles.

5300 Music Player

I can't update my music players library, it won't show me any menu in the music player, it just keeps saying no music files stored. I need to update my library to get the songs I'm putting onto my phone from my computer. Any idea how to get into the menu? Thanks for your help!

Problem solved.
Turns out it must have been a combination of software faults on the phone itself and the memory card. I had the handset replaced and bought a new memory card and it work. The old handset still had the same problem, even with the new memory card and the old memory card had the same problem with the new phone.
I must say, however, that even though the phone has a one year manufacturers guarantee, Nokia UK are absolutely terrible for customer service. They insisted that it wasnt anything to do with them and responsibility was with my service provider to replace the handset. Orange told me this was rubbish.

6220 Music Player help!!

I have just transferred songs from my computer to the memory card in my phone. How do I now add these to my music player. When I go into my music player it says the only songs in there are the three that came on the phone..

Have you tried the update option? From Music Player select Options>Refresh library.

N91 music player help!

help! my music files are nowhere to be found in my n91 music player. although i can see my music files in the media gallery. how do i fix this problem?!
i have tried reformatting my phone but to no avail. =(

Question 1: Did you reformat your HDD (full format) and then copy the music back as part of the sw update? If not you may need to do that.
Question 2: Assuming you did format etc then were there any interruptions in USB data transfer to the device. USB can cause issues (like with memory sticks) if it is interrupted. (not just by cables being pulled out but by PCs that have drivers that do not handle low CPU allocation). This could have screwed up certain files on transfer.
Question 3: What but rate are your songs ripped at. In the FAQ somewhere I believe it mentins that ripping MP3s above 256 Kbps rate can cause be an issue.
Note the reason I believe why the N91 and many MP3 players pause (when a PC doesnt) is if an MP3 file has many errors I believe the PC keeps buffering until the error is corrected (ie they ahve enough data to reconstruct the song - you may hear a skip but no pause). Small devices can only let that go so far before they have to stop.
So that is why corrupted songs may play on the PC but not on smaller devices.

Nokia 2330 music player help please...

Just purchased this phone, and user guide has no info on how to download to the media player! I had hoped the PC suite would be able to be downloaded to use bluetooth, but the phone is not listed as one that is compatable with that software?! Anyone able to advise on how I'm suppose to be able to use this feature or if it is usable with the PC software?????

Hmm. I don't have this model...so what I'm suggesting is a best guess based on the fairly simple phone model you have there:
Well first, you'll need to convert any mp3 files you have into a mobile optimised format (AAC) as your phone isn't intended to play mp3 music and there's not a whole of space for music.
Next use the Nokia Suite and connect your phone via BT.
Then, go to file manager on Nokia Suite > Locate the converted music > Copy and paste/Drag and drop the file into your phone (Nokia Phone Browser > Nokia 2330 > C: ...there should be some folder for music there...)
Then go to your music player and try to check if it's there?
The other options are:
1. to purchase music from online, but be careful what you buy because there's a lot of MP3 mobile music which is NOT for your phone.
2. get a friend who has .aac format music files and have him/her bluetooth it to your phone...
Do let me know if any of this has helped. If not, please indicate what you have tried.

Lumia 920 - Music Player HELP!

After being forced to wait until YESTERDAY I finally received my Lumia 920 and I'm slightly disappointed with the music player.
I've been a Nokia user since the N95, moving onto the N96, N8 and now finally the 920. The N-series were choc full of bugs and shortcomings but the music player on all of them worked exactly as I would have liked.
So I have a few questions re the music player on the 920
Is there a way of pinning the "Now Playing" controls to the start? Instead of having to navigate through Nokia music, waiting for it to load, tapping my music, finding the artist and album and song just to skip a track?
I know you can access some controls by locking the screen and re-pressing the lock button but this seems like a ridiculously convoluted way round for such a fundamental control.
I essentailly want direct control of my music from the start screen.
If this isn't possible with the default player can anyone recommend a decent third party app?

The volume shortcut helps but I cannot find an option to actually stop the songs from playing. I have to press the pause button and come out of the music player to stop it playing. Surely there must be a 'Stop' option somewhere.

5300 music player - please help

I'm having a bit of trouble transferring music to my new phone. Well, it transfers OK. The songs are separated out into artists and albums, as you'd expect. But within the albums, they aren't in track-listed order (they're either alphabetical or completely random).
I've tried this with both songs off my computer and a direct rip from a CD. I've tried updating the transfer software.
Am I missing something completely obvious or have I got a dodgy phone?

I just bought a 5300 (firmware V05.00)and have the same problem: The track list is alphabetical and there seems to be no way to change it.
I DO use a card reader to copy MP3 tracks doing drag and drop in windows explorer...
STILL, the 5300 shows the tracks in alphabetical order.
On my old 6230i, doing it the drag and drop method works great, the tracks appear in the order which they were copied (first ALBUM, then TRACK) so all the tracks of an album are in correct order.
It seems that so many people are frustrated with this problem and I have searched this and other forums high and low and have not seen anything close to a solution.
I am still working on this and will post what, if any, solution I find. Meanwhile, if anybody is on to something, please send it!

Flash music player HELP on Safari

Trying to listen to the music stream on http://www.abercrombie.co.uk/anf/flash/music/music.html
However it wont stream the music..any ideas why? was working a few weeks back but now wont stream...not sure if its a safari or flash player issue...maybe a privay/security setting is not right? any help would be much appreciated!!

Well, that is certainly clever - that you need a functioning Flash Player to troubleshoot your Flash Player...!
I don't know how you uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player, but I suggest that you try the following:
download the FP uninstaller http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg
download the FP installer from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
Hopefully this fixes your Flash Player problem, otherwise we have to wait for someone with some basic Mac knowledge, which I don't have.

Youtube and music player help

HELP!! Youtube videos are choppy and fast motion. They are
fine if im not looking at the player or if i have the screen
minimized, and music players are choppy when i scroll and such, but
when i up the slider in the settings (global storage i think) to
unlimited they are a bit better but you tube is not. Also, a
program i have, Virtual DJ when i play the music on any of the
decks or anything it is all fast and choppy, unless i minimize the
program but that means i cant do anything with it....PLEASE HELP!!!

I guess u could use VLC media player, im not to sure but it should work.
to change a mp3 (iTunes) file to VLC player, delete the ".mp3" at the end of a file name, and change it to ".avi", or just go to the info and change the default application to open it with, then press do the same with all such files

IPhone 4 w/ iOS 5 music player help!

Hey, my iPhone 4 was just equipped with iOS 5 a week ago, and ever since, about half of all my music just refuses to play. A ton of my music has also lost the ablum artwork. When I try to play some music, it doesnt give an error or anything. What happens is when I select a song that wornt work, if I just select it from a menu, it just goes to the song for a second, nothing happens, then it goes back to the menu. If I reach a song that doesnt work in shuffle, then it just plays the next song on shuffle, but under the same name as the corrupted song and the same time. When I go into iTunes on my computer, and I check my music on my iPhone and computer, none of the tracks are corrupted. PLEASE HELP!

I had the same issue within the first week after i bought my iphone 4s..
The problem seems to be triggered after my battery drains and my phone restarts.
You can try:
A.) Go to Settings> General> Reset> Reset All Settings (it wont delete any data so dont worry)
After reset, you'll be on the set-up screen again. Just do your preferred settings and set up accounts if you wish to do so.
.....This worked for me once.
But then after another battery drain> phone shuts off> restart ....the phone doesn't have signal again. So i tried the previous process which is having to reset all settings, but to no avail.
So....
I went to the store where i bought my phone. They replaced my sim card, and the phone's signal problem has been solved. They told me that it was just an isolated case of a "bad batch" of sim cards 'coz every customer that bought a unit the same day i bought mine had the same probem.

Anyone know how to change the name of the track in nokia n8?
All the music I had is either chinese or kpop, so the display showed up to be all symbol, I changed all the track's name in my pc to english name but when I transfer it over I still getting what i had the first time those symbols only anyone know how to fix this?

Whell you hold your finger on the song and song information. Its easier if you used media playver or ovi playver. I use Sonys Media Go and all songs looks fine whit album covers in it

Messy tags in the music player, help me out here!?

Just ripped this great album a few months ago and now I want it on my N82. There's a problem though, and I think the pictures pretty much talk for themself:
Tags works perfectly in foobar2000. Help a fellow Nokia user out here, because this **bleep** doesn't make any sense at all.

Hmm,
I could be wrong, but it looks like you're using Unicode or UTF8 to write your ID3 tags.
Try to change your tagging software to write ANSI IDv3 tags (v2.3).
AFAIK Nokia phones have problems with Unicode / UTF8 tags.
