5310 "Data transfer not possible" calendar sync is...

I'm trying to get my Nokia 5310 to synchronise its calendar with my work's Outlook 2003, using PC Suite 7.1.26.1.  At work they use Windows XP and Outlook 2003 SP2.  I don't want to bring my USB cable into work, so I'm using bluetooth to connect.  The connection itself works fine - I can browse the 5310's media content, calendar and contacts using my computer.
The problem is with synchronising calendar with Outlook.  It just won't do it.  Every time, I get a "Data transfer not possible.  Check data connection" message on the phone and a "PC Sync was unable to locate your Outlook message store" error in the PC Suite sync log.
Things I have tried:
Repair PC Suite.
Install new settings (spanner star button) and go through the wizard again.
As 2, but with manually selecting the Outlook folders on my profile (which were, in any case, already preselected correctly).
Copying a new profile and trying to sync with that.
Putting in (the same) username/password in PC Suite and the phone's "sync and backup" option.
None of these works.  My work computer will happily sync with Google calendars, but won't sync with my phone.
I've had a good look through the forums but can't seem to find any solutions that work for me.  Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get this to work?

Try one more thing. This worked for me.
1. Remove ALL email profiles.  -
2. Recreate profile - don't forget to write down your Email exchanger server address. This will force Microsoft outlook to startup as if your  a new user but will load your existing email from the server.
3. Setup PC Sync -- again
- this has been a pain in the neck!! - something gets corrupted in the profile that PC Sync does not like.

Well, as the title says really.
    Upgraded from 6280 -> 6301.
I use Outlook 2003 and sync contacts & calendar.
Sync'd the 6280 before finalising upgrade, plugged in the 6301 with a mini-usb cable (All driver reports it installed new hardware fine) once it had fully come into service and it wouldn't sync.
The phone displays "Data transfer not possible. Check connection" and Nokia PC Sync shows the warning "The mobile phone as not responded". It's solution is "Please ensure your phone is in the standby mode, then restart the Synchronisation. "
Have updated to latest version of PC Suite 6.85.
A bit annoying, as I no longer have any contacts info on the new phone...
Running XP, AMD 3ghz, 4gb ram.

Having spent many hours on this I have now got it working...
    This is how :
    1. On the phone go to : Settings: Sync and Backup: Server Sync: PC Syncronisation and enter a username and password.
    2. Select Synchronise in Nokia PC Suite, in the Connected to 6301 window click the spanner (settings) icon. Now click the Adjustable wrench (Advanced) Icon and go to the sync profile tab and enter the same username and password that you used on the phone. Click OK twice and sync away...

When I try to use (open, update, modify etc.) the “contacts list” in PC suite version 7.0.7, I always have the following error: “Data transfer not possible. Check data connection”. Instead the SMS list works fine. My phone is Nokia 6267.
    Anyone has a solution?
    Best Regards

    Hi everyone,
I had the same problem for months with many PC Suite versions & both XP service packs until I tried a phone setting just for testing and everything worked out fine In my phone (3110c) under Settings / Connectivity / Data Transfer / PC Sync, I filled in a random User name & Password and voila!!! All contacts copied just fine!!! I hope this works with other models with the same menu as well. It looks that it's not a PC Suite problem after all (at least for me that is).
    Hope I helped you guys

  • Initialize delta without data transfer not possible

    Hullo,
I want to switch the upload procedure for an ODS from full to delta. For I have researched SAP Note 689964 and executed the program RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG for the ODS-object and datasource. It successfully modified the request and set the 'REPAIR_FULL' flag.
Now I want to change the InfoPackage from Full update to Delta. According to the note I have to perform an init simulation, my problem is that the option initialize delta without data transfer is in display mode only (i.e. it's gray and I cannot select it).
The InfoSource in question is "0HR_PY_1". I've checked several others and with some it is possible to select the initialization simulations and with others it's not.
My questions are a) Why is it this option grayed out? and b) What can I do to enable the selection of this option?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hullo AK,
thanks for pointing out that note, sadly it's for "0HR_PY_PP_1" and not "0HR_PY_1".
However it lead us to note '611199'...
    <b>Symptom</b>
Some attributes of the following DataSources are not defined.
    0HR_PY_1 DataSource:
    - Commit after initialization phase
    - DeltaInit Simulation
    0HR_PY_PP_1 DataSource:
    - Commit after initialization phase
    0HR_PY_PP_2 DataSource:
    - Commit after initialization phase
    <b>Other terms</b>
PXDW, extractor, posting transfer, settlement, PCPO, PCP0
    <b>Reason and Prerequisites</b>
The SAP settings for the DataSources are incomplete.
The following attributes should be set:
    0HR_PY_1 DataSource:
    - Commit after initialization phase: no commit
<u>- DeltaInit Simulation: Mode is not supported</u>
    0HR_PY_PP_1 DataSource:
    - Commit after initialization phase: no commit
    0HR_PY_PP_2 DataSource:
    - Commit after initialization phase: no commit
    <b>Solution</b>
Import the corresponding Support Package into the Plug-In Releases 2003.1 and 2002.2 and copy/activate the DataSources in the plug-in system again.
If the correction is imported, you can <i>no longer select the "DeltaInit simulation"</i> option for the delta initialization of the <b>0HR_PY_1</b> DataSource/InfoSource.
As long as you have not imported the correction or you are using an even older plug-in release, you should never select the "DeltaInit simulation" option during the delta initialization for the 0HR_PY_1 DataSource/InfoSource. <b>The 0HR_PY_1 DataSource does not support this mode.</b>
The 0HR_PY_1 DataSource only supports the delta initialization (without the DeltaInit simulation) and subsequent delta calls.
Sadly enough, not what I wanted to read, but well at least I now know that I shouldn't look into this solution anymore.
    Again, thanks for your help.

Can transfer music files and send and receive SMSs in the PC suite, but contacts and calendar wont sync. Have correct firmware. Using data cable. Have general profile activated. Have tried with and without Sim card.
Any other ideas before I finally give up on this phone?

What version of Office Suites are you using? MS Active Sync depends upon the version of Office in much the same way as outlook where one have to synch it.

  • 3120 classic won't sync - "Data transfer not possi...

The phone is Three-branded (UK), software version 07.16 and no software updates are available. I'm using PC Suite 7.0.7.0.
I am connecting my phone with Bluetooth - I don't have a data cable. The phone is new so has no data on it.
Whatever I select to sync (from MS Outlook), the phone says "Data transfer not possible" and I get a "PC Sync information" error. I've tried selecting unidirectional data transfer to the phone, as someone suggested this in another thread, but it makes no difference.
I also tried using OpenSync under Linux and the phone displayed the same error. (I did a factory reset after using OpenSync in case it confused the phone.)
    Any ideas, please?

    Hey there,
I had exactly the same problem and I just worked around it by giving my sync a username and password.
That is, in Settings->Sync and Backup->Server Sync->PC Sync I set a username and password. I then entered this information in PC Suite under Advanced Settings->Sync Profile
Hope this works for you, I understand your frustration.

    * As mentioned, attempted using both Bluetooth and USB
    connections - no change.
    * Attempted a "Reset to Factory Settings" on the
    handset - no change.
    * Attempted erasing both the Windows Address Book contents, so
that both data sources were empty - no change.

with my NOKIA 6233 I have exactly the same problem. I have not been able to spend much time on searching solutions, yet. I did, however, install the firmware update - this did not solve the problem unfortunately.
    Hi misternik,
From looking on Nokia's support site and elsewhere, I already appear to be running the latest firmware revision available for this handset.
However, further Googling indicates that there are two different engineering codes that can be used to reset a phone:
*#7780# - Normal reset. (Replace all configuration files with default entries.)
*#7370# - Performs a deep reset. (Reformat main memory and restore from firmware.)
I'm not sure which mode the standard menu entry triggers; I might have a go running a deep reset to see if that clears the fault.
In several contributions to this forum (but for other phones) I read something about a PC-suite mode on the phone. I do not have this mode. When I connect the USB cable I can only choose between DEFAULT, PRINTING and DATA STORAGE. Should there be a PC Suite mode ? Maybe this is related to the problem ?
The 6300 handset presents a menu when first connected via a USB cable, and offers those options - "Nokia mode", "Printing mode", "Storage mode", or similar.
Nokia mode appears to provide all of the Nokia-specific facilities, such as PC Suite synchronisation, so I don't think that's the problem.
    Cheers,
    David

  • Posting of retirement/transfer not possible (error in the asset)

    Dear All,
I have been trying to retire 3 assets by ABAVN. After I try to simulate the posting, it says:
Posting of retirement/transfer not possible (error in the asset)
    Message No.465
    Diagnosis
An inconsistency was found for the asset 10 during the last recalculate values.
    Posting was rejected,
Choose the function recalculate values in the master data maintanance transaction, and remove any inconsistencies.
My question is that what is the asset 10..is it the depreciation area? C's I haven't input 10 assets...only 3.
What is the recalculate values for asset master data maintanance? Is it the depreciation or other input to the asset master?
    Thank you.
    Emma

    Hi,
I checked AFAR and found it would re-valuate 2 assets in 1999 and 2000 for depreciation area 10 (which is the tax depreciation). In 1999, the assets are retired partially. I am checking on the values AFAR calculated and find what happened that made it necessary to re-valuate the assets.
    Thank you.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • Data Transfer Not Up-To-Date  and To Be Archived at Project definition ?

    Hi All,
I want to know about the statuses "Data Transfer Not Up-To-Date and To Be Archived at Project definition level?" In documentation Flagged for Transfer  and  To Assign are only mentioned.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Arti.

    Hello Arti,
the system sets this status when there is a problem with the replication. For example, in the customizing of your project type (accounting area) you have defined the type of transfer as 'Automatic as of release of project'.
Now, for example, you have a project that has status 'Created - Transferred - Data Transfer Not Up-To-Date - Assigned', this means that the replication is not yet complete because according to the customizing setting you need to release the project first.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Silvia

  • With iTunes 11, it is not possible to sync my iPhone, and my iPod with my computer

Whith the new iTunes 11, it is not possible to sync my iPhone and my iPod with my computer.
    1. the iPhone AND iPod are not detected by iTunes, they don't appear any more on iTunes. (for eg with iTunes 10, we see clearly that an iPod/iPhone is connected)
    2. There is no possibility (page, button, etc) to sync and to see what is on the iPhone/iPod
    Why?
How can i sync my iPhone and my iPod with iTunes 11?
How can i manage what is to sync between iTunes 11 and the iPhone/iPod?

Im using a PC, and yes i tried everything, turning my phone off, my pc off, plugging the phone on another computer, but nothing works

  • Is it simply not possible to sync Google Calendar event colours to iPad?

    Hey all!
I've had a search and found a previosuly asked, but as yet unanswered post, had a good blast over the internet and am now just about at my conclusion - is syncing the colours of individual events in Google Calendar to my iPad, simply not possible?
I know each of my calendars will appear as a seperate colour, but I also colour each event within my Google Calendars according to what they are. As yet, I can only get them to sync to my iPad in the colour that has been assigned to that calendar.
    I hope this makes sense!

    What "size" do you want?
WHat iPhoto shows you is not the "total disk space". It shows you the size of the folder you would get if you dragged the current version of the pics in the Event or Album to a folder on the desktop. It does not tell you the size of the originals, for instance, nor of the thumbnails and database and other ancillary files.
So, it's nowhere near the "total disk space" of these images and their support files. Have a look on the iPhoto forum. There are regular queries along the lines of "How come iPhoto tells me my Library is 21 gigs but the Finder reports it as 44 gigs?"
iPhoto can do this because when you edit an original it creates an actual modified copy and stores it on the HD. (And, you can, of course, produce entirely different results if you play with the export settings.)
Aperture can't tell you that. Why? Because
    1. There's no modified version, just entries in the db
    2. The size of the exported image depends entirely on the export presets you choose - and there are literally thousands of potential options these
    3. Dragging to the desktop only gets your Previews.
So, iPhoto isn't really telling you anything very accurate, and Aperture couldn't because of the way it works.
    Regards
