5310 doesn't show contacts HELP!

Hello, I have a 5310 with a twist!
The shop I bought it from transferred my contacts from my old phone. Alas, for some reason my new phone will not show any contacts when I try to browse them or when I try to select a contact to send a message to, instead it displays "(empty)". HOWEVER, when I press options ---> search ---> (any letter), all my contacts appear!!!
So, I know that my contacts are in there but I cannot browse them or use them for anything, either from my phone or using PC suite!
I tried to back up my contacts using PC suite, but the PC suite back-up failed as it cannot find them!
It sounds like my phone's software is defective, but I have the latest version AND without a backup it's fairly risky to experiment with older versions etc.
Please please please please can you suggest something.... anything...

Many thanks for the advice. However, even though I did exactly what you said, the same problem persists.... I can still not view my contacts unless I search them as I described above.
I don't worry about the lost settings just my contacts

PC Suite doesn't show contacts stored in SIM card ...

I own a Nokia 6230i v. 03.88 RM-72, and am using PC Suite 6.84.10.4 on Windows XP SP2.
I found out that:
1. PC Suite doesn't show in the Contacts folder those which are recorded in the SIM card, but only those from the phone memory. Why's that?
2. PC Suite doesn't update its displayed list of contacts: after I add one (through PC Suite or on the phone) the display list is unchanged. To reload it, I have to delete manually its stored database (in C:\Documents and Settings\MyLogin\Application Data\PC Suite\nnnnnn\nnnnnn.db (where nnnnnn is a string of 15 digits).Message Edited by miklos on 28-Aug-200701:59 AM

It's never been a technical problem. You can connect your phone and type in a super terminal using AT command to show/save/delete any contact/sms in sim card.
To do it in AT Command, you have to maintain two sets of protocol (one for AT command access, the other for phone memory access). I think Nokia just doesn't want to handle the complexity (while most 3rd party apps do).

CCP doesn't show ip helper-address

I am running CCP 2.1 on both a Vista and Server 2008 machine. I am connected to an 1841 router. If I telnet into router, and show run, it says I have an ip helper-address. If I open CCP and view that same interface, it doesn't show an ip helper-address. If I then click OK, it wants to send a command to the router to remove the ip helper-address. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Please pickup the latest CCP version (v2.5 posted on 29th June 2011). Let me know if the problem is resolved. CCP supports configuration of single helper address. If multiple addresses are configured, then they are read in, but shall not be editable.

The iPhone Search feature doesn't show Contacts/Top hits anymore?

All of a sudden... when I use the general Search Feature on the iPhone4, the Top Hits do not show up anymore. This was the main way I found the contacts that I wanted to call. Any ideas on how to turn that back on?

You could try going to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and make sure all options there are checked.

Iphone 4 upgrated to IOS 5.1 doesn't show contacts

my country code is +267 and if I store a contact with country code +267 7*******, it doesnt appear when the user calls but it does when they send an iMessage/sms, and when I store a contact without code it gets displayed when they call and only a number is shown when they send SMS. I search the forum for the solution and never got the working solution.. please help.....

btw. Thanks Rysz! A restart solved the "disappearing devices" issue, but then I had to downgrade to iTunes 10.5.3 to fix some crash issues that occured after my original post.

Ovi suite doesn't show contact details set to stan...

I am using right now the latest for me available version of Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 but the problem started to appear 2 or 3 updates before already.
I am using Ovi suite on a Vista 32bit german machine.
My mobile is a E71 v400.21.013 connected normally via Bluetooth (but cable shows same problem)
I started to define some contact details (e.g. mobile (home) as default for phoning and sms) and now ovi suite syncs and shows everything but theses defaults. On the mobile the details are still there (luckily).
The messages part of the ovi suite shows for those entries just the numbers and not the contact names anymore.
Can someone tell me how to fix it or at least how to undefine these standards?

NOKIA E63 WON'T SHOW CONTACT NAMES WHEN THEY SEND ...

I just bought the Nokia E63, and have tried everything in my power to solve the issue that, when i recieve a text message it doesn't show who it's from - it just shows their mobile number. This is so annoying and has been bugging me for hours on end. I have all my contacts saved on my sim card. Please help me!

Nokia E63 doesn't show contact from your SIM card in the phone directory directly.
You need to manually "view SIM directory" to see them.
Better you copy all the contacts from your SIM card to Phone Memory.
Then you can choose/type in the name & type message & send it.
Ya one thing is really irritating which is that even if you type the number instead of the name of a person who's entry exists in the contact list, the phone still shows the number rather then the name of the person after sending the message.

My iPod doesn't show up on "My Computer" or iTunes and it doesn't sync or charge. Help please?

I have an iPod Classic, the 2nd most recent version. I havn't had problems with it until a week ago. Before I had the new iTunes update, a week ago, it wouldn't show up in my Device's or "My Computer" , wont sync and It wouldn't charge either. I thought to myself "Maybe I should update my iTunes, maybe thats why it's not working". I updated my iTunes library to the most recent software last night thinking it would help but... It didn't help at all and made things much more complicated. I don't like how the new iTunes navigates and the iTunes Helper isn't there now. I'm still facing the problem where it doesn't show up in iTunes AND it doesn't show up on "My Computer" AND still doesn'tt sync but the thing thats different is that it'll charge a quarter bit and say it's done, or it wont charge at all and stay on my home screen. I need help here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Outlook mac Doesn't show the Meeting organizer's full detail as in contact when you hover over

In the out look , when you received an meeting request, we can see the organizer's email address, but when you hover over the email address it says "presence unknown" and didn't show any details of that email user.
But i can see the contact search is in All Folder. when its in all folder it doesn't show his contact. but when i change the search to default GAL LDAP i can see the mail user's details in the contact.
I hope if i can change the " contact search to Default globla address list LDAP " when you hover over we can see the email user's detail.. But i have no idea how to change the defaut Contact search to another one frm ALl Folder .
Help me to change this.

ITunes doesn't show Google as option for contact sync

I'm trying to sync my Google contacts with my 5gen Nano using iTunes 9.0.0.70 on Windows XP (2005 tablet edition, SP3). I'm following the instructions on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1245 and http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138744&cbid=-4q5r0l4gj gdw&src=cb&lev=answer
iTunes doesn't show an option for syncing with Google. When I go to My iPod > Contacts, and enable to "Sync contacts from" checkbox, I just see an option for "Windows address book" and "Microsoft Outlook" but nothing else.
*How do I get iTunes to show Google as a sync source?*
I've poked around on the intertubes a bit and seen mention of gconsync.exe. It's present under "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin" and executes when I run it (generating a wad of help info).

I guess you missed the part in the instructions where it says "if you have an iPhone or iPod touch". Those instructions won't work with an iPod nano, unless someone here knows a trick or workaround I've not heard of.

My music is in alphabetical order but doesn't show the letter headings or the letters on the side. Can anyone help?

I just synced my Iphone to my new computer and added new music but the music doesn't show up like it used to. It doesn't have the letter headings or the letters going down the side. I have 21 songs right now and they are in alphabetical order but are shown like a playlist rather than a library.

You do not have enough music to display the letters on the side. The phone needs more music for it to determine you need help going through the alphabet. I saw it written somewhere some time ago, and it does the same thing for Contacts. I believe it takes somewhere between 50-100 entries before it will display that letter side on the right side.

Contact entered on iPad but doesn't show on iphone or computer

I'm using iCloud on iPad, iPhone, and my Mac Pro. I entered a contact on my iPad three days ago, but it doesn't show on my iPhone or Mac Pro.
iCloud is on on all three devices under the same account. Help?

You can set the default calendar for new events with this info from the iPad iOS 8 user guide:

See if any of the following help.
Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
