I need to take a picture of a web page, insert it onto a powerpoint online, and crop the picture. I am pressing the print screen button, and right cliking paste. But I am getting the warning message saying that my browser can not use the clipboard, and I am unsure of how to take a picture, then paste it, and crop it all on to a power point.

Huh? It's right there, between the Alt and Ctrl keys right of the Space Bar.

Print screen button causing project to advance

I have added some JavaScript to a button in my captivate project using On success > Execute JavaScript > Script Window > window.print()
This works fine to print the screen, however, clicking the button also makes the project advance to the next slide.
Any tips on how to acheive the print screen functionality without advancing the slide would be greatly appreciated. We intend to publish using HTML5 output only.
The majority of elearning projects we work on require a print screen button, it would be a very useful feature were it to be added to Captivate without the need to dabble with JavaScript.

I know you are the queen of actions, but why would you choose to create an action as opposed to simply clearing the "Continue" option here? That would seem the simpler approach.

You can do this two ways:
1. Many free and inexpensive applications are available for getting Windows screen captures. Search http://www.versiontracker.com or http://www.google.com for a list.
2. Or, I found this on a different website...
Go to Accessories/Accessability in the start menu and select the On-Screen Keyboard.
That will give you a print screen button you can click with your mouse. (Using the On-Screen Keyboard will not change the active window, so you can even grab just the window you want).

As I understand that you are facing issue with laptop physically missing print screen button in your G560 laptop.
As you are looking for an alternative option, I would suggest you use snipping tool for taking screen shots.
This snipping tool is available in windows 7, to access snipping tool go to search and type snipping tool, then the tool appears.

Hi,
Is there a way to include a button that will print the
currently viewed screen? I want to create a captivate presentation,
and give the user the option of clicking a button to print the

It is really a good site but i'm trying to do it by myself
and i don't understand how to put the code on the button.
The singles buttons Paul give are not working for me (they
print all the html page and not just the quizz results), i suppose
it is not the same code as the complete playbar button (who is
working but who is useless in my project).

I have two questions really... do the Mac Book Pros have a print or "screenshot" type feature button?
And, if i'm running out of room on my macbookpro's hard-drive... which external or do-it-yourself install of a bigger hard-drive is the best solution? suggestions please?!

"Print Screen" for MAC

Hey there I am still trying to swap over from windows. Quick and easy question for someone. On my PC i used the "print screen" button a lot. Taking a snap shot of what is on your screen. Is there a way to accomplish that same feature with a Mac, If so How?

Command-shift-4 lets you select what portion of the screen to capture.
Note that either keystroke (-3 and -4) creates an image file that is, by default, a .png file saved to your desktop as "Picture 1" (2, 3, 4 and so on, however many you take). There are some ways to change those defaults; the easier ways are through tools like Deeper or Onyx (search Apple downloads, versiontracker.com, or macupdate.com to find them).

Saving a screen shot similar to "Alt + print screen" for PC's...

As I am transitioning from a PC to a Mac, and would like to be able to save a screen shot, similar to the print screen button on PC keyboards, how do I do this now?
If I would like to save the screen shot to be able to edit it in a graphics software, such as Photoshop or save it as a JPEG to be able to insert it in a document, how do you do that now? I went to File -> Save As and my only options are Web Archive and Page Source.

Command - shift - 4 and drag a square around what you want to capture
Command - shift - 3 capture of whole screen
each will put a .png on the desktop which can open in Preview
Additionally, you can change the default format of the screenshot as outlined in this article. Alternatively, adding "ctrl" to either of the keyboard combinations sends the screenshot to your clipboard, allowing you to paste it into an editor of your choice.

I would like to print a list of all the contents in a folder (not the documents themselves, just the list of contents). I do not have a print screen button on my keyboard. Is there a way to do this? Thank you.

Resize the window and click triangles so that everything you want to print is visible on the screen, and then press the Shift, Command, and 4 keys simultaneously. Next, press the space bar, click in the window, open the newly created file on your desktop, which is a PNG by default in Tiger, and print it.

Shift+command+3 takes a snapshot of the entire desktop.
Shift+command+4 lets you select portion of screen to capture. Press space after it to select a window.
To see more info, go to Finder > Help and select Help Center. Search for "screenshot".

How do I load a print screen image into a picture indicator?

Hi,
I am trying to load a printscreen image into a picture indicator without first saving it. I am currently doing it by acquiring and saving a print screen image, then reloading and displaying the bitmap file. This works, but it is not elegant and the colors are displayed wrong. (The SnapView.vi is from the G Toolbox for LabVIEW) Thanks for your help.

Hello –
When you push the print screen button in your keyboard, the image is send (temporarily stored) to the clipboard.
You could call the Windows API to recover that image and send it to an indicator in the front panel. This Example Program can show you how to make Windows API calls; I think you might find it useful to get started in programming your application.
