550 5.7.1 Message rejected due to content restrictions

We're using forefront protection for exchange 2010 and every once in a while the Cloudmark anti-spam signatures will block important clients from sending us email. Reporting the emails to [email protected] doesn't always get the issue
resolved, but when we contact cloudmark directly they tell us to talk to Forefront. However, cloudmark isn't sure exactly how we're supposed to engage forefront on this type of matter.
What phone number or email address can we use to handle these requests without an additional charge?

I too am getting this response from a supplier in UT - I am in UK see message copied below:
You suggest contact support - who's cost will this be I am a purchaser and the site I wish to contact is the supplier (I am also using my personal e-mail address for this activity)
Reason for multi addresses are because I have had a result from them on other occassions not all I have gone bust - seemingly....
I wonder if they are using Outlook 2010?????????????  -  I use 2007 on win 7 no problems till using this site...

    Hello,
We have exchange 2007 with Edge subscription.
We have a user which wanted to send an email to internal recipient, but delivery failed because he received NDR.
#550 5.7.1 Message rejected due to unacceptable attachments ##
I have checked and in attachemnt there was zip file (inside zip there were several Pdf files). I saw that such issue was solved in Hotfix Rollup 5, but we already installed this update and also other necessary updates. Also I have checked content filtering
options and there were no "zip" files.
P.s Any other messages with attached zip files not being blocked.
Any ideas why message was blocked and how I can unblock it ?.

    Hi,
From your description, the message with a zip attachment is rejected due to unacceptable attachments. In your case, I recommend you follow the steps in the following KB for troubleshooting:
You receive an NDR message when you send an e-mail message by using an Exchange Server 2007 Edge server
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945046
What's more, here is the latest Service Pack and Rollup for Exchange 2007 for your reference:

  • 550 5.7.1 Message rejected as spam by Content Filtering

We are running Exchange 2010. I have a couple of users who are not receiving emails due to our content filter. When I check the message tracking log in our Edge Server it points to a 550 5.7.1 Message rejected as spam by Content Filtering. I guess my question
is, how do I check to see what message in that particular email trigger the email as being spam???? Is this possible?

Checking this might help. Body text doesn't allow me to post links yet. Pasted the content over.
While the IMF can be somewhat helpful, it can be a detriment if you as the administrator don’t remember or even realize that it was installed on the server in the first place.  This can be especially troublesome when you have an additional 3rd party
filtering service in place.  If you have IMF installed it essentially means you are double filtering your mail, once at the 3rd party spam filter and once at the Exchange Server. In cases that a 3rd Party Filtering is in place we typically recommend disabling
the IMF feature. This is of course just a recommendation and you should do whatever you feel is best for your network environment.
How Does the IMF Identify Messages as Spam?
When a message reaches an Exchange Server with IMF installed, IMF will evaluate the textual content of the messages and then assign the message a Spam Confidence Level (SCL) rating from 1-9 based on the probability the message is Unsolicited Commercial Email
(UCE).  This rating is then compared to the threshold set under Message Delivery Properties > Intelligent Message Filter in the Exchange System Manager.
How Do I Find Messages in the IMF?
Theoretically the IMF is supposed to place messages that it found as spam in your Outlook Junk Folder. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always tend to be the case.  If you have reports that messages are “missing” on your server and you can’t find them, check
the IMF! To check this service, you will need to make sure that you have the Archiving option enabled. You can view the *Archived folder location here: C:program files[YOUR SERVER]mailroot[SMTP VIRTUAL SERVER]ucearchive.
*To view these archived messages you will need to download and install a 3rd-party tool.  If you have any recommendations regarding these tools, please leave them in the comments below.
    Where is IMF installed?
When IMF is installed a new tab is added to the Exchange System Manager. For Exchange 2003, the tab is under Message Delivery > Properties under Global Settings.
There is also a new Intelligent Message Filtering node under Protocols > SMTP – This is where you enable IMF.
For Exchange 2007, it is under Exchange Management Console Server Configuration > Hub Transport > Anti – Spam.

  • Forefront is rejecting emails due to content restrictions - more on this subject!

    Hi All,
We are running Forefront 2010 with Exchange 2007 on Server 2003.
During the last couple of weeks Forefront has been rejecting emails sent from a couple of domains due to Content Restrictions, the logs says that the emails are above the threshold of 9.
We have tried getting these senders to send just simple emails with no attachments etc and the same still happens. There does not look to be links in email footers etc.
These domains dont look to be on blacklists according to MX Toolbox.
I have put a couple of domains in the content allowed list but I am nervous that we are missing other emails that this system is rejecting. Clearly we want spam blocked but something is odd somewhere if simple text emails from our customers etc are being rejected
    as above "9".
    Thanks,
    Julian

I had made no change whatsoever in my policy.
The only remarkable thing to report was that there was a power failure for my server around the time the problems started.

    Product appears to be activated.

    Hi
I think you have encountered a problem that all of incoming mails were treated as SPAM. The information that you provided indicates that these mails were marked as SCL rating 9 which will be deleted, rejected or
quarantine . However, normal mails should be mark as SCL-1 and these mails usually  can be forwarded.
Please check the configuration with following steps:
What are the allow words or block words you defined before ?
How did you dispatch SCL rating  for different mails ?
How were the mails treated in each SCL rating

  • 550 5.7.1 Command rejected

I've seen some other threads about this type of problem, but no resolution for it so I thought I'd post to help HP to know how widespread and disappointing this is.
It appears, from reading other threads, that the eprint email system on HP's end of things is extremely finicky about what emails it will accept.
This is not acceptable.  If a person's email setup, client, computer system, and ISP works fine for them for every purpose except eprint, then the problem is at HP's end of things.  And this is the problem I'm having now.
We bought this printer to put at my mother's house so that the rest of the family could send photos or notes to her from their email accounts.  She doesn't have the desire or computer savvy to constantly troubleshoot problems with this all.
I've spent about the last eight hours fighting through a succession of problems just getting this printer to connect to the wireless router, then connect to the eprint center, and now, with all of that seeming to work, all of my emails to the printer's email address are being rejected "bounced" with this error coming back:
"This message was created automatically by the mail system (ecelerity).
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
    >>> [email protected] (reading confirmation): 550 5.7.1 Command rejected"
When can we expect the eprint service to work properly for ALL otherwise perfectly functional email setups on my family's various computers, ISPs, and devices?

I have identified and solved this problem in our environment, just today. That's the good news. The bad news is that if my solution applies to your environment, as a consumer there may not be anything you can do about it personally. I happen to be both an affected business user and an affected consumer; with an HP Eprint-enabled printer in both environments, and a mail administrator and DNS adminstrator for my company's Exchange 2007 mail organization. So I was perhaps rather uniquely situated to study this problem and to resolve it.
There is an internet standard known as SPF (referred to in the MS world as SenderID.) SPF stands for Sender Policy Framework. It involves a DNS administrator putting a TXT record in DNS that identifies, by IP address, the mail servers from which email from your domain may properly come.
When email purporting to be from your domain ([email protected]) arrives at an MX server, the MX server (if it is implementing SPF; not all do) will do a DNS lookup for your sender-side SPF record. The SPF record will say, in effect, "If this email from @mydomain.com is coming from 12.98.67.216, or an address within the 64.15.8.0/24 network, then that is a valid IP source address. If not, there's something skanky about that email's origins; it may be spam, being sent from an inappropriate soure; that is, its sender address [email protected] has probably been spoofed. React accordingly."
In our case, HPEPRINT's PostFix mail server was apparently finding something in our SPF/v2.0 record it did not like (we have had that record for several years and none of our email has ever bounced for this reason, so I am not sure exactly what the issue was, but...). I deleted our SPF 2.0 record and the problem with HPEPRINT vanished immediately. We have had 100% email-printing success since then, and no more "rejected" NDRs from hpeprint.com.
We still have an SPF/v1 record in our DNS, which HP's PostFix mail server apparently likes well enough. The issue in our case was with our SPF/v2.0 record, or the way PostFix was evaluating it. I'm not sure which. If our SPF record was bad, I have to wonder why we haven't had problems with any other mail domain during the last four years or more since I created that record. But anyhow..
The main moral based on our situation is: this was NOT a problem with the printer. It MAY HAVE BEEN a problem with the way hpeprint.com's mail server evaluated SPFv2 records. It MAY HAVE BEEN a problem with our SPFv2.0 record syntax or structure. But the printers in this respect are just fine. If you are sending mail through an ISP or a company email system and are not in a position to fix it, talk to your mail administrator about it and suggest he check SPF records.
The tipoff in my case was when I tried to send to hpepprint.com from the command line and got the blowback from hpeprint.com's PostFix:
    "#550 5.7.1 Can't determine Purported Responsible Address."
In referring this error back to our senders, Exchange was paraphrasing as
    #550 5.7.1 Command rejected
    The PRA is SPF-speak.

Resolving such issues can be complex. It is important to recognize that you've done nothing wrong.
The bounces occur because your ISP has chosen to subscribe to a blocking list maintained by one of several such services. In your case, BigPond is querying the Trend Micro MAPS RBL list each time it receives inbound smtp transactions, and for some reason, addresses or address ranges assigned to .Mac mail for such traffic have been added to this MAPS RBL.
BigPond can do nothing, really, but sever its link to MAPS, and is highly unlikely to do so. Beyond reporting the issue to Apple as indicated above via .Mac support using the web form located here, there is really nothing you can do. It is up to MAPS to remove the block based upon a request from Apple.
This sort of relative stupidity occurs quite frequently. We have chosen to use the services of spamhaus.org to limit SPAM on our internally operated mail server, and face the same issue with mail originating through domains maintained by T-Mobile, who has unfortunately found themselves on the Spamhaus PBL, or policy block list. I haven't been able to locate someone at T-Mobile responsible for resolving the issue, so mail originating outside our domain via T-Mobile HotSpots or the T-Mobile cellular data network—traffic that is legitimately relayed through our server to users outside our subnet—is blocked.
While I generally applaud the efforts of SPAM blocking services like MAPS and Spamhaus, I am beginning to believe that the unintended consequences of their services negate the value they otherwise provide. And, they operate with impunity and are unwilling to talk to affected users or notify sanctioned providers on behalf of affected users. They simply add the offending addresses to their many block lists, and leave it to others to correct what they see as a violation.

    Hi,
Try running the <b>program RSMON000_ALV</b> instead.
I am not in basis either but :
    - if it is really an insufficient number of Work process
    - if it is not a one-time event (meaning, this problems occurs repeatedly)
Then the only solution I can think of is increasing them (and take care to add CPU and memory accordingly)
You should check with your basis guys.
Also, check the <b>transaction ST22</b> for more explanations about the possible Dump that got created.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

  • An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.1 [P4] Message blocked due to spam content in message

I have been using Thunderbird for a couple of years. On Friday 10 Apr my home email account stopped sending either new messages or replying to incoming emails. In addition I have Thunderbird get my work email and I can send and receive email just fine. I can also send email from my android phone and via the web.
The message that has started coming up is the following:
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.1 [P4] Message blocked due to spam content in the message.. Please check the message and try again.
I have tried reinstalling Thunderbird but nothing changed, I tried changing the port from 25 to 587 to 465 but nothing changed. I do not understand what is going on as on Wednesday Apr 8 everything was working just fine.

I have just tried ringing RCN and they tell me that because I am not using an RCN email as such they can not help but he suggested that it was a filter in Thunderbird but I have not set any filters and can not see if there are any or how to change them. The only way sending my website url right now is to make it not look like a url. Where do I need to look to solve this as I first wrote last week everything was fine.

    Hi,
loading a 37MB file shouldnt be a problem without splitting it. i´ve loaded GB size flatfiles without problems.
Did you checked the error.txt as stated in the message? Whats in there.
If you split the file and you can load it, you have enough space in your DB.
Please check the memory utilization of your server during executing the job with one file. Maybe the Server is too busy...what would be strange with a 37MB file.
    Regards
    -Seb.

"We found that your app uses one or more non-public APIs, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. The use of non-public APIs is not permissible because it can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change.
We found the following non-public API/s in your app:
_updateView (I have the method name like "_updateView" in my source, can I change the name of the method. Is it works ? )
If you have defined methods in your source code with the same names as the above-mentioned APIs, we suggest altering your method names so that they no longer collide with Apple's private APIs to avoid your application being flagged in future submissions.
Additionally, one or more of the above-mentioned APIs may reside in a static library included with your application. If you do not have access to the library's source, you may be able to search the compiled binary using "strings" or "otool" command line tools. The "strings" tool can output a list of the methods that the library calls and "otool -ov" will output the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides."
And in my application, I am using the FBConnect, SDWebImage library,  and Twitter+oAuth api's. These are non-public api's ? Now, can I integrate Jira (Crash Reporter) to my application? Can anybody solve my issue......
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajesh Kumar Yandamuri

I have the same problem what to do with below points from the apple.
Requires help plz help me my app rejected two times with this points.
We found that your app uses one or more non-public APIs, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. The use of non-public APIs is not permissible because it can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change.
We found the following non-public API/s in your app:
    _tearDown
If you have defined methods in your source code with the same names as the above-mentioned APIs, we suggest altering your method names so that they no longer collide with Apple's private APIs to avoid your application being flagged in future submissions.
Additionally, one or more of the above-mentioned APIs may reside in a static library included with your application. If you do not have access to the library's source, you may be able to search the compiled binary using "strings" or "otool" command line tools. The "strings" tool can output a list of the methods that the library calls and "otool -ov" will output the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides.
We appreciate that you may have made the precautions in your code for using non-public APIs, however, there is no way to accurately or completely predict how an API may be modified and what effects those modifications may have. For this reason, we do not permit the use of non-public APIs in App Store apps.
If there are no alternatives for providing the functionality your app requires, we encourage you to file an enhancement request. Or, try working with the Apple Developer Technical Support team to explore alternative solutions.
On occasion, there may be apps on the App Store that don't appear to be in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. We work hard to ensure that the apps on the App Store are in compliance and we try to identify any apps currently on the App Store that may not be. It takes time to identify these occurrences but another app being out of compliance is not a reason for your app to be.
For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. Please be sure to:
    - include the complete details of your rejection issues
    - prepare any symbolicated crash logs, screenshots, and steps to reproduce the issues for when the DTS engineer follows up.
For information on how to symbolicate and read a crash log, please see Tech Note TN2151 Understanding and Analyzing iPhone OS Application Crash Reports.
If you have difficulty reproducing this issue, please try testing the workflow as described in  <https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/qa/qa1764/>Testing Workflow with Xcode's Archive feature".

  • Why am I unable to send e mails from my IPhone or IPad and get message rejected from outgoing server, message placed in outbox

Why am I unable to send e mails from my iPhone, and get message rejected by server and message put in outbox.  I have tried changing server ports but to no avail.  I am not very technically minded so any suggestions in laymans terms please.  This is a big problem as I work away frequently and need to answer e mails.  This also happens when at home and on my own wifi.

  • "Message Rejection Handler" for the file/ftp adapter using fault policy

    Hi guys,
We are trying to implement "Message Rejection Handler" for the file/ftp adapter using following fault policy configuration.

The expectation is: when the message read by SyncFileRead partner link is rejected,
