5500 Swedish + Russian

Hey!
I have bought my 5500 Sport here in Sweden. I want to know if it is possible to search through my Contacts and write messages in Russian/Cyrillic. How can I add new languages? May installing some software or new firmware help me? I have no use for Danish, Finnish and such ;o(
I could not find any relevant results searching the board, sorry if I missed anything useful.
Stas

I bought my c6 yesterday. I had read its characteristics and I knew that it have qwerty keyboard. But I was really surprised that there're only Enlish and Romanian languages. And I just said Where is Russian, turkish, ukrainian I need them.

  • Nokia E71 Dictionary russian swedish how to type r...

    Hello.
    Nokia E71
    Application "dictionary".
    swedish>russian translation works fine.
trying to do it vice versa russian>swedish
    Now i'm puzzled...
How am i supposed to type the cyrillic characters in order to get the russian words translated to swedish??
I select "russian" as a source, and "swedish" as a target, but the only languages awailable for input are: English, Suomi, Swenska.
    Please help.

    Go to Menu>Tools>Settings>General>Personalisation>Language>Phone language.
This will show you the languages that exist for the phone interface in general. If you bought in Sweden, you would probably only have English, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Icelandic.
If you have any languages that don't use the Roman alphabet, then you'd be able to use the characters of that language by selecting it as the phone language, but not otherwise.
The dictionary is a separate application, not an integral part of the phone software, even though it was preinstalled, so it has not affect on the performance of the phone as a whole.

  • EIM/WIM v4.3: Language support

    Hi all,
I'm trying to determine the different GUI language it supports. The list i got so far
Swedish, Russian, Danish,Canadian French, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese
Any idea if GUI supports Asian languages (Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean)? It supports email and chat content in those language but how about the GUI?
    Thanks!
    -JT-

The list is what you have. Email content and chat content are independent of what the GUI is - that's obvious surely? I could have a GUI in English and you could chat to me, and email me, in Mongolian without compromise.
Remember that only the Advanced licence will enable language selection by the agent as they login on the web page. There is a drop-down and they select the language they want. It remembers your selection.
If you go to the web page for the first time, it displays in English. Now you select Spanish and log in - the GUI will all be in Spanish. Logout and exit the browser.
Come back to the URL and now the instructions (login, password) will be in Spanish. If you log in it will be in Spanish.

    Hi,
I'm using the als-installer to install a swedish advanced linquistics pack on a FAST ESP 5.3 SP4 single-node server. FAST itself is up and running in all aspects, but when I run the following command from an administrative console window after setting up

    Brgds Jonas

    Hello Jonas,
I believe that we have seen similar problems with the Russian Language Support pack, as seen here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2d2a4fee-8cbd-4dd8-b141-6149a832115b/linguistics-studio-russian-language-support?forum=fastinternetesp
Have you tried using Linguistics Studio to apply the Swedish ALS?
If so, and you still see this problem, there is a workaround that is commonly recommended to apply the old 5.0 language pack, which
    is named ALS_esp50_Swedish_1_1_all
on connect.microsoft.com.  The old language pack should have the same terms in the dictionaries, however the problem with this workaround is that the dictionaries are not able to be modified.  Once they are in place,
they will work, however you cannot add, delete or modify terms.  Let me know your findings, and if you have any questions.

  • All errors in Nokia 5500

I am going to type here all errors(and invite everybody to do it, only if you sure that it is a error), that i have found in my nokia 5500 to ask Nokia to improve it's firmware.
/Some of them is quating from forum/
    1. When you press and hold the meny button on Nokia 5500 it shows the programs that are running in the phone, and when i press it, it shows the standby menu and sports. Is this correct? Shouldnt it just be the standby menu? When i try to turn off the sports menu, the phone says "Exit sports?" and i press Yes and nothing happens, it´s still on!
    Is this a firmware error?
It drains my battery! Less than 48hr standby!
The only thing that I found how to close it is so:
To turn off the sports mode:
1.Connect the phone to ur PC with the USB cable
    2.Select Data transfer
    3.All applications are closed
4.Voila! Even the sports mode is closed
    5.Disconnect the usb cable
6.Take care not to activate it again using the swap button, else u have to do the perform the above steps again
But this mistake is not good for such firm as Nokia!
    2. my keypad's falling off too after visiting service.
I'm very disappointed, as I'm a sturdy Nokia customer, coming straight from the 5140.
Is there a representative from Nokia that can give us an answer on what is going to be done with this design fault, and if it can be repaired properly, or if we should choose another phone model??? Must I pay money to buy it, or Nokia will recall it's phone free or change to another? I am a student and I can't pay money every month to glue it's keypad!
3 It is not comfortably to change every time my language to another (to Russian, for example) to find contacts in my contact-list and to English to write sms. (sms in another language than English are shorter and costs more). May you in new versions of firmware to make in every program it's own default language and to make possibility to choice it by user (myself)? Or to make search in contact-list in English and Russian at one time, like this: if I press key "5" on my keyped, the search starts for contacts, starting with letter "j" and ALSO from Russian letter, that has printed on the keypad on the same key("5").
    4. It will be very pleasant if I could in "speed dial" to call not only phones, but also to run my phones applications.
    5. To change time-duration when I can read a new message(that has come to my phone second ago) without unlocking my keypad to longer period.
I will be very glad if you inform could I hope to see this improvement in new firmware versions?
    With best regards, Ilya Polyakov.

Except the keypad issue (which is solved by Nokia FREE under warranty) you're not listing ANY errors.

  • Some russian titles do not show up in the artists' lists

Hi, I encountered a strange issue with some songs with a russian title with my Nano 2G. The issue appears with some songs, which I downloaded from the bands' websites, e.g. http://www.pelagea.ru. I copied the title from the website and enter it in iTunes. This works fine. Also on my iPod, the titles show up when played, in the playlists and in the list of all songs. However they are missing in the list of the artist (Music -> Artists -> <Band>).
I tried to convert the ID3 tags in iTunes, which was proposed in some Apple document, and I also deleted the title and typed it manually using the russian keyboard - without success. So I also tried to download the MP3 files again and to enter the title directly with the keyboard - no success.
Now I wonder whether this is a bug in the iPod software (version 1.1.1), since the titles are shown everywhere except in the artists' lists, or whether the MP3 files are broken, since other songs with a russian title (downloaded or imported from CD) work as supposed. Any idea how to make the songs from the webiste above working? I guess the same cure would also fix the others, with which I am having trouble.

I accidently bought a book in the wrong language, swedish, I dont speak swedish. How can I change it to English?

Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :
and then the 'Report a Problem' link on its line :
and select 'inadvertently purchased' as the problem and fill in the details (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes, which it is currently doing for me) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption.

Need to Convert PDF to doc in Russian, why programm do not recognice it?

    Hi alsu22,
The OCR system that converts documents does not recognize any cyrillic languages, such as Russian.  If the text is already renderable (selectable), you may want to try converting your document without the OCR function enabled. You can find steps here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3062

  • How do I use the km utility to get a working Swedish keyboard at inst?

    Hi,
This is my initial post on this forum. I'm interested in archlinux as I find "the arch way" appealing, however I'm faced by a little problem first thing during the setup. It wasn't easy choosing between newbie corner and the installation forum, after consideration I picked the latter.
I want to install archlinux on my Acer Aspire 1642ZWLMi, which has a swedish keyboard layout. I want to be able to use the swedish characters åäö during and after the installation phase.
The installation CD suggests that I should run the km utility and pick my keyboard layout and a corresponding console font. How do I find information on which ones to choose?
I have tried some of the layouts with the prefix se- (there are four) but I don't know which console font that has the necessary characters. Even if I managed to pick the correct layout I might very well have chosen an incompatible console font to go with it.
Thanks for reading my post. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get!

Thanks for trying to help me. Though I had already tried the suggested combination of keyboard layout and console font using the km utility.
When I run the km utility first thing during install and choose 'se-lat6.map.gz' as keymap and 'lat9w-16.psfu.gz' as console font it still doesn't work. When I type åäöÅÄÖ on my keyboard åæøÅÆØ is displayed in the console. My search results are telling me that æ and ø are the danish (and some other languages) equivalent to ä and ö.
It is also worth giving emphasis to the fact that the km utility just lets me choose keyboard layout and console font. Which means I'm unable to set any consolemap.
If it's not possible to get swedish characters to work during the installation process I guess installating archlinux first and configuring the keyboard, console font and console mapping later is an option.
How did people from outside the US/UK perform their install? And more specifically in my case, people from Sweden?
All suggestions are welcome! I'm quite eager to try out archlinux.

  • How Do you use Cyrillic Fonts (Russian) in InDesign CS4 or CS3

I have a headline in Russian a client sent me in an e-mail that I need to use on a poster I'm laying out in InDesign.
I downloaded ERUniverse cyrillic font, and when I paste the Russian headline in a text box and go to select ERUniverse cyrillic, there's no Russian!
Also, I go down to the bottom of my fonts there's Hebrew, Japanesse, Chinese fonts, etc...but no Russian.
Please help with instructions on how to use a cyrillic font!!!

I downloaded ERUniverse cyrillic font, and when I paste the Russian headline in a text box and go to select ERUniverse cyrillic, there's no Russian!
That font must not be Unicode enabled. An old hack to insert Cyrillic characters into a regular font was to replace "unused" characters with Cyrillic ones. So, to type a 'de' д, you would insert the character code for an 'ê'.
Modern fonts are Unicode enabled, which simply means that in every font Cyrillic characters are found in the same place. Thus, changing the font does not change the text.
If you are working on Windows, check the Character Map for fonts that support Cyrillic. Select 'Advanced view', Character set: Unicode, Group by: Unicode Subrange. A small window pops up, enumerating all possible Unicode groups. Scroll down and select 'Cyrillic'. Now the character map will only show these characters for each font, so simply scroll through your font list to see which one have them.
(And OSX no doubt has a similar feature.)
The older Windows system fonts Times New Roman, Arial, Georgia, Verdana, and the newer ones Calibri, Cambria, and Candara, and lots of the fonts that came with your InDesign installation support Cyrillic (at least Minion Pro and Myriad Pro do).
It's also possible the original text has not been typed using a Unicode font. If you need a quick check, select some of the text and select the font Arial Unicode (on a Mac, I think "LastResort" will do). If you see useful text, you're okay to go. If not, you have a huge problem. You will have to find the exact font that was used in the original document and use that, or use Find and Replace to change each character to the actual Cyrillic one (and you will need a hardcopy before you can do that).

    Hi folks,

In either early or late KMS start, essentially what I see during boot is the boot messages starting to get drawn from the top of the screen, at some point they briefly stop being drawn (as if services are still loading) and then continue until the screen's height is filled, when the screen flashes blank and new messages get drawn from the top. I also see random pixels appear singly all over the screen, in different colours. This behaviour happened when I was first running the Arch installation, until I realised that KMS might be the problem and added "nomodeset" (and later "i915.modeset=0", which made no difference) to the kernel parameters. However, before booting into my Arch pendrive, the laptop booted into a sort of windows installer / agreement signing (in UEFI, presumably) which did get rendered correctly.
This potentially leads me to think that, before I nuked the existing partitions in readiness for my Arch install, there was some firmware or driver in there that made the HD 5500 just work™. Could this be true? I'm still getting my head around UEFI and what it lets you do. With this in mind, I tried making a new EDID to give the GPU a good idea of what kind of screen it should be drawing to, but that made no difference.
Strangely, if I boot up with KMS and get to X (with root doing startx on the stock configuration), neither /var/log/Xorg.0.log nor glxinfo seem to think anything's the matter from what I can tell:

Likewise xrandr seems happy with the way things are going:
    Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 32767 x 32767
    eDP1 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 293mm x 165mm
    1920x1080 60.00*+ 40.00
    1400x1050 59.98
    1280x1024 60.02
    1280x960 60.00
    1024x768 60.00
    800x600 60.32 56.25
    640x480 59.94
HDMI1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
I tried boteium's suggestion to force xrandr to redraw things (or signal them to get redrawn, however it works) by rotating the picture, but I still had the same weirdness of slow drawing, random coloured pixels and now "smudging" with the open xterm instances. It's as if hardware acceleration is not enabled and, I imagine, the GPU is blindly trying to draw whatever it can to the screen without preparing the complete picture first (if that's what they do at all).
For completion's sake – and I'm sorry for all these walls of text – here's my pacman -Q, just in case anyone could (hopefully) spot a silly mistake on my part:

Sorry to double-post, but I'm coming around to the idea that it's a UEFI issue. My understanding now is that, if I want to use UEFI, the kernel's EFISTUB needs to be loaded by certain EFI firmware that gives the kernel information about the hardware, which I unfortunately lost when creating my partitions. The only EFI file I have in /boot is "/boot/EFI/gummiboot/gummibootx64.efi". Should this be enough to boot as UEFI? Am I understanding this right? Something else that makes me think I'm missing some essential stuff that was originally installed, is that some items as reported by dmidecode say "To be filled by O.E.M.". Since I've just bought this system pre-built from an OEM, I would have thought that they'd fill that in, and that the EFI firmware is the place to do it.
Also, one thing I forgot to mention above is that I changed the BIOS setting Advanced→Launch PXE OpROM policy from "Legacy" to "UEFI" before booting into the Arch iso. Could this have anything to do with KMS not working (during the installation and until now)? I didn't try booting with "Legacy", but if we could confirm that booting as UEFI is what broke KMS during installation, maybe that could be worth mentioning in the wiki.

  • My cellular connection (swedish 3 operator) does not work after update to iOs 8.3

After I updated my iPad mini from iOs 8.1.3 to 8.3 my cellular connection has stoped working. It connects but the apps don´t recongnice it. The operator is the swedish network "3" (Three),

    Hello svenakealb,
It appears you are unable to connect with cellular networks using your iPad. The following article provides troubleshooting steps for this issue, which you may find helpful:
If you can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data - Apple Support
Get help with No Service or Searching, cellular network, and 4G LTE issues on your iPhone or iPad (cellular model).
If you see No Service or Searching
If you see No Service or Searching on your device, or can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data, follow these steps:
Check your coverage area to make sure you're in an area with cellular network coverage.
If you can't connect to a cellular network, make sure cellular data is on in Settings > Cellular.
If you're traveling internationally, make sure your device is set up for data roaming. Go to Settings > Cellular > Data Roaming.
    Restart your iPhone or iPad.
Check for a Carrier Settings Update.
Remove the SIM card then reinsert it. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or doesn't fit in the SIM tray, contact your carrier.
Try another location. If possible, see if other devices are able to connect to your carrier's network in that location.
    Contact your carrier to:
Verify that your account is active and in good standing.
Make sure there are no outages in your area.
Check that your device is not blocked from receiving cellular services and set up with the right data plan.
Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS.
If you can connect to 3G but not 4G LTE
If you can connect your iPhone or iPad to 3G but not 4G LTE, make sure your device is compatible with LTE. Go to Settings > Cellular > Enable LTE. Identify your iPhone and compare its model number with the list of supported LTE carriers for your country location. Or identify your iPad and compare its model number with the list of supported LTE carriers for your country location. LTE options might vary depending on your carrier's network.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Bobby_D

The IMAC will play rented dvd movies.   The dvd movie plays fine on my Mac Book Pro (10.6.8) on the Pro's DVDPlayer (vers.5.4) abd in my external Sony DVD Player  The dvd move was made/burned on a PC.   Why will a dvd movie play on my Macbook Pro and not my IMAC?

    Hello:
This is not an area I have much experience in......I rarely insert DVDs and I have never had a similar problem.
When the DVD is in the drive (and DVD players is open) click on File>get disk info.
