5508 wlan gui psk format shows ascii is actually hex
Version 7.0.116.0 wlan psk format shows as ascii in gui but is configured as hex.
Appears to be cosmetic bug as clients still work ok when entering in correct hex key.
Thanks
Has anyone seen this on WLC controllers. My lab 2106 also has same trouble with 7.0.98 code ?
Hello Scott - thanks for the reply.
You misunderstand the problem.
Try setting the PSK key for HEX format in the gui. After you setup the hex key it works ok for client but
the gui screen still shows it to be ascii.

Hi All,
I am developing one JMS to File scenario, in which JMS adapter will pick file which is in EBCDIC format from WebSphere MQ and send it to receiver file system by receiver file adapter. when i am trying this, i am getting file in EBCDIC format in receiver file system, but the file system is expecting data in ASCII format.
Is there any options to encode the EBCDIC format to ASCII in Sender JMS Adapter or Receiver File Adapter.
Thanks,
Madhusudhan.Hi,
It was Basis / Database / OS staff that configured this aspect of the connection, and I am afraid I do not have any more details.
A Google search gave me the following from IBM Documentation on MQ Series:

Copy and Paste WLAN password (PSK-key) on E7-00
It took quite long to find out how the 128 character password of my private WLAN can be copied and pasted in the PSK-key field. Now I found the (not documented) solution and would like to share it with other users.
Simply press and hold the Shift key (in any text window) and you'll see the "Paste" button on the screen.
To copy the password to the clipboard you can transfer the password (by email, sms or in a text file) on your E7-00. Then mark the password using your keyboard (Shift + arrow key), press and hold the Shift key and you'll see the "Copy" button.
I hope that Google finds this instruction!
Here is the German version:
As I said elsewhere, I had it for just a couple of weeks and I didn´t yet have too much time to study the manual in all detail. Sorry ´bout that!
Regards,
Hendikoischnur
OK, now I have downloaded the manual in German as pdf. Now I only need to install the Adobe Reader, then I can read it on the mobile itself.
I guess that with that Pencil Key, I could also copy contact data from any document I have on the phone to my contact list?

How to show no. of actual working days in Payslip in case of +ve time mgt
Dear Experts,
We have a requirement of showing no. of actual working days in payslip, which should be Calendar Days-(Paid+Unpaid absence). I created an w/t 1WRD for actual working days. Our paid absence w/t is 2006 and unpaid absence is 2005 copied from /845 and /846 respectively, both the absences are included in absence valuation table and working fine in that respect. But issue is i wrote a small PCR for calculating actual working days like below:
ZWRD
NUM=TKSOLL Set
NUM-E 2005
NUM-E 2006
ADDWTE1WRD
But still its fetching full working days i.e. calendar days 30 or 31 not deducting paid or unpaid absence for a month.
Pls help, what else should i do.
Regards
TanSorry, i am unable to paste RT, but its exactly as below
01, April, 2011
1WRD Working days 30.00
2006 Paid Absence 2.00
02, May, 2011
1WRD Working days 31.00
2005 Unpaid Absence 1.00

I am having problems opening videos on my MacBook Air. I keep receiving the message to download Adobe flash player. I have gone to the site an downloaded it several times. It shows it is actually downloading, but still receive the message.
Hi..
Assuming you are using Safari ...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari. -
WLC 5508 - WLANs disabled after reboot
Hi,
I'm running 3 WLC 5508, 2 of them running image AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-116-0.aes, one AIR-CT5500-LDPE-K9-7-0-116-0.aes.
On the 5508 running the LDPE-image, I have 9 WLANs (170,171,180,181,190,191,281,282,283), all defined with admin status "ENABLED".
WLANs 180,181,281 belong to a defined AP-group, WLAN 190,191,282 belong to a different AP-group.
WLANs 180,181,190,191 are defined as H-REAP. The H-REAP APs registers without any problems at the backup WLC and switches back successfully to the primary controller after recovering from reboot.
Unfortunately the WLANs 180,181,190,191 show status "DISABLED" every time the primary controller comes back and I have to enable them manually.
Doing exactly the same procedure with one of the other WLC, running AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-116-0, I never face this problem.
Has anyone faced something similar ? Any hints or tipps are very much appreciatedI would like to pick up the discussion again. I had to upgrade the 2 WLC's involved in the scenarion and the WLANs are staying enabled. The APs are registering in a perfect time at the secondary 5508 and so do the clients.
After the primary 5508 comes back the LWAPPs are registering back to that WLC seemless and so do the clients but sometimes (not always) not without loosing the connections for about 15 secs, which is unacceptable since the applications will drop.
We also get the following error-msg:
*Sep 12 13:39:05.598: %AAA-3-BADSERVERTYPEERROR: Cannot process authentication server type radius (UNKNOWN)

Character Formats showing up in TOC
TOC entries for, say, "Heading4", are nominally controlled by the paragraph format of the generated "Heading4TOC" format.
Sometimes the body narrative will have local mods to the Heading4 text. Depending on what you're doing, you may want those mods to show up in the TOC, or you may not. In my case, I did not, and was surprised to see a TOC entry show up in color.
It turns out that if you apply a Character Format to text used for TOC (and perhaps IX, LOF etc) generation, that ChrFmt is retained when rendering the TOC.
So if you want the local enhancement to appear in the TOC, use Chr Fmt. I verified this by setting a heading word to Character Format "Symbol" (which applies the Symbol font`, all else As-Is). The TOC entry had that word in Symbol glyphs.
if you don't want the local enhancement to appear in the TOC, use local overrides. I verified this by just doing a Format > Font > Symbol on the same word of the heading. The TOC entry had that word in roman.
In my case, I have a table imported (as EPS) from a spreadsheet. I want the table title to appear in TOC, but of course Frame can't "see" that text. So the anchor line is that title in Heading4, which does appear in TOC. This particularly H4 has a local color override that is set invisible via Color Views. I want the TOC entry to be visible, but the Heading4 text in the body to be invisible. This works if the Heading4 has the invisible color applied with the graphics tools. It doesn't work if I use an invisible text Character Format.
Another way to hack this particular problem is to put the Heading4 title in a text frame behind the imported image. Then it requires no character formatting magic. But you can't see it during edit, and you need to hope that the table white fills really are, and aren't just transparent. The TOC will only reproduce the character format of the heading if it has that character format in its catalogue.
Thanks for contributing that. It stands to reason that if TOC gen is honoring and replicationg the ChFmt, the easiest way to implement that is just to drag the format in with the text being cloned.
Building on this, you can control the appearance of the TOC entry by defining the character format – if you wish, differently from how it is defined in the main text. So your Heading 4 override may be coloured white in the main text, but black in the TOC.
Thanks again. I'm going to use this starting now, since the present manual set has need of it.
The key aspects of the implementation:
The ChFmt name needs to be something very self-evident to future document stewards, like "Hide_Except_TOC".
In all .fm files except TOC, its definition is
all As-Is, except for Color,
which is an existing author-use-only color "Invisible Text" already set Invisible by Color Views during render.
In the TOC file, the definition of "Hide_Except_TOC" is
100% As-Is.
(first time I've ever defined a format like that) -
Report in text format show break page !!
when i generate a report in char mode, in a text file, it show a break page between the head section and the principal section. there is any way to delete this break page (a line command or properties ( i specify a desformat no_ff)).
thanks. To get a output data to a text file that contains no form feeds ( page breaks ), or other control characters in the output), do followings:
Modify the printer definition file to eliminate form feeds
a. Invoke a text editor and open the file dflt.prt.
b. Move to the following line:
after pages control(L)
Remove "control(L)" so the line appears as shown
below:
after pages
Removing the control sequence from the printer definition file will keep the output from breaking between pages when the report is formatted.
Thanks

Logic audio unit bridge unresponsive/gui doesn't show up properly
Hi there, having a problem running some 32 bit plugins while running logic in 64 bit mode.
For those who are familiar with the Audio Unit bridge, when clicking on a 32 bit plug-in it brings up this grey window which prompts another click to bring up the interface. When I click on here the GUI appears for a split second then disappears again or sometimes doesn't appear at all. Noteably, the plugins still allow audio through, it is just the interface won't appear.
After a while of having a project open, I have also experienced Logic giving me this message presumably due to the same problem:
It lists all the 32 bit plugins used within the project and says they are unavailable, crossing them out in the logic mixer and removing them from the audio unit manager.
I have tried removing the logic .plist file which allows the loading of the plugins again but not does not solve the problem of the unresponsive GUI.
Really lumbered by this one, any potential resolution much appreciated.
Thanks
Athis might be a graphic issue with my 2013 macbook pro retina 2.8gig
i went to preferences and changed the display type... the plugin then shows up. but left in any one of the modes, if i take out the plugin and recall it the same issues remain. Maybe my graphic card is failing -
Gui doesn't show when the Thread is dispatched from the main class
Hi all,
I've tried to write a file unzipper class that shows a small frame with 2 progress bars.
The unzipper extends Thread class in order to make it an independant service.
However, when I debug it and use a main function that's written within the class, it works fine, and when I run it by calling it from another main, I only see a frame where the progress window should be, but no window.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? (About the GUI, I know my unzipper isn't the most efficient one:

3602E won't connect to 5508 WLAN
Hi all,
This is a lab system that I'm just building out- I try to see the obvious but it does bite me occasionally. I have a 5508 WLC running release 7.4.1. My AP's are all Cisco 3602E's with the AC modules. My problem is that the Access points can't seem to join the WLAN- I can see them talking, debug output below. They are pingable from the WLC CLI, verified that options 43 and 60 are ok, Here's my debug:
Under SECURITY > AAA > AP Policies the only thing checked is:

Odd thing is that I am seeing this under recent traps, although I am not using any AAA sergver or RADIUS server- none are configured at all.
Thanks!
JerryI would upgrade your wireless LAN controller to 7.5 version because the 802.11ac technology is supported on that version only so the access point might be waiting for that version to join. I say might because I don't have access points with ac modules yet but I am completelly sure and possitive that 802.11ac is supported from the 7.5 version so, if you have the modules and want to use the ac technology you will need to upgrade your WLC anyways.

Cisco WLC 5508 - WLAN Per-User Bandwidth Contracts
Hi,
I setup per-user bandwidth contracts on my guest anchor controller. The controller model is 5508 and firmware is 7.4.121.0. No Qos settings were configured on the foreign controllers.
The bandwidth limits for the WLAN worked correctly for a couple of weeks, then speed reduced to almost nothing. I removed the WLAN bandwidth limits and speed was back to normal again.
Has anyone else run into this issue? Any ideas why it might have happened?
Thanks,If Scott does not mind an add-on. The 3850 also supports per client QOS.
