Hello all!
I've got following problem for a while now:
When I am calling or getting called my phone automatically turns up/down the volume till maximum.
Means, when I try to turn down the volume a little it automatically keeps on turning down till minimum (and the way arround).
Even if I don't change the volume it automatically turns up.
When the phone reaches maximum volume it always 'beeps'.
Can anybody help me please?

You may try the Soft Reset by dialing *#7370# followed by the Security Code (Default is 12345 ) when prompted.. If you have set your own code, enter that instead.. Be cautioned that this will erase all data from the Phone memory.. so back-up your data before doing this.. You will need to restore the data and MAY need to re-install some of the applications after this...

Hmm, have you tried to raise the volume when Siri is activatied? (Hold home button down to activate S, then turn the volume up) Hope it helps!

Help! I have had an intermittent fault on my ipod for a while, but after it happening 3 times in one train journey I sent it back and received the bog-standard reply letter.
I think this is a hardware fault, not a software fault.
I will have the Ipod enclosed in a case, and the volume level turns itself up - to deafening, I cannot open the case, unlock it and turn it down quickly, the only way not to deafen me and the other passengers in the train is to unplug my headphones. Sometimes it sounds like I get the similar sound to when your mobile is too near to another electrical object before it turns itself up, but again not everytime. It also doesn't do it in the same songs either.
I have been on hold for 15 minutes waiting for someone to get back to me when I queried if the Ipod would not do this any more.

Is there a cell phone near the iPod when this happens?

My Nokia 701 automatically gets switched off when ...

Hello nokia users.
My 701 set is a year old. It is now out of the warranty period. Now the irony is, whenever I put a sim card in my nokia 701, it gets automatically switched off.
For this reason, i have contacted the nokia care people, but they said the whole simcard slot need to be changed & it will cost me Rs. 5000 (indian rupees). As you can see, if you purchase a mobile of Rs. 17000 a year before & finding out a year later that it will take another Rs. 5000 to fix it, you can finally say, "Nokia, have you lost your mind. !!"
And one more thing, if i get it fixed by nokia, will i get the warranty of the replaced part (sim card slot) ?
Any solution to fix my problem is appreciated.

Normally you should get some warranty on the repaired part, you need to check with your local Nokia Care Point, since this probably varies by location. I would expect 3-6 months warranty for the repair.

E8500 getting high temps in-game with MB P53 neo-f

i'm a MSI MB P53 neo-f owner with an Intel processor E8500 (not overclocked/cooler box) and i'm getting high temperatures when i'm playing games. Everest/rivatune/Bios/realtemp shows me 55-60º Celsius in Idle and ~103 ºC in-game. It seems there is something wrong with this numbers or compatibility with E8500. There is another problem with Bios information about processor multiplier. The correct E8500's mutiplier is 9.5x and it shows 9x. Is there a problem? Do i need a Bios update? Could you give me last bios update? Cause live update shows that my bios is the lastest version (v. 1.90).

About your temperature problem:
Tools like Real Temp read the data they use to calculate the CPU's Core Temperatures directly from the registers of the processor. Your increased system temperatures are most likely caused by one of the following reasons:
- very bad/insufficiant case cooling/airflow

- reseat the heatsink and quadruple-check that it is seated properly
- re-check the Core Temperatures when the system is IDLE and under full load
If nothing changes after this, open the case and put a room fan in front of it to create a maximized airflow accross the heatsink of the CPU.

Legal Consolidation package is automatically getting CANCELLED

Hi Experts,
I am trying to run the Legal Consolidation dtsx package which triggers the Consolidation.LGF script logic, but i am getting a strange cancellation message. It is automatically getting cancelled and when i look onto the log it shows Package - Running.
Does anyone have a clue on this ?

You will need to provide screenshots of your parameter setting or type it out in the message for legal app and ownership applications. If not set properly, the message status you experienced is a typical norm.
The next step you need to check is the ownership application to ensure that you have the appropriate ownership structure setup for the period.
If you believe that you have set up everything appropriately, then scale back your ownership structure to a minimum to make sure that you can run the Consolidations package/process chain (automatic adjustments) to get the desired result. From there, you can build up your structure and test them to ensure expected results.
Are you on SP2 or SP3?

Same problem for me. Really a pain in the *** this bug ! Does Apple fixed it. I'm really suprised noone reports this problem and apple does not adress this.
Because of that, I cannot give it anymore to children because it hurts the view. Really a shame on the part of apple !

i have a 4th generation ipod, when i connect the ipod to the ipod interface in my car the volume gets very low.....
i have tried connecting my ipod in others cars with ipod interface, its the same issue with the others system also....
but it works good when connected with aux.
please help me find a solution....

This is normal - cant adjust the volume from the iPod if we connect it via dock (the bottom of the iPod). If you would like to adjust the volume with the wheel of the iPod, then you should plug your iPod via its earphone jack - of course, different cable i.e. minijack to RCA audio cable

QT 7 Pro - Volume of audio is very low when I record from a microphone.

Possibly someone can help me here, I am trying to record audio using a microphone and QuickTime Pro. I want to put this audio on my Nano.
I cannot get the audio volume up to the level of existing imported audio programs when I record a audio program using QTP and a mic.
I have already tried to set the microphone volume to a higher level. In the Quicktime Program I set the Menu/Edit/Preferences/Quicktime Preferences
I then go to the Audio tab, select audio recording and playback devices, select "audio playback and recording devices" and set the volume slider on the microphone to high, go to the advanced tab, set the microphone to boost, still I get a very low volume.
When I record using the Windows Sound Recorder I get a high volume, but the output is a wave file and the quality is not as good as I really want. But clearly the microphone and driver work. I have tried updating the driver, still get low volume for my recorded audio.

So you use an RCA cable going into what before it hits the MBP?
EDIT: Also in System Preferences > Sound > Input > you can select the input & adjust the volume accordingly as long as it's plugged in.

My volume automatically turns itself all the way down whenever I start my ipod (even when I'm not playing music). As soon as I slide my ipod into opening the volume goes all the way down. Even if it's already completely off, the audio icon comes on the screen, which tells me the ipod is still trying to lower the volume. As I said, I don't even have to be listening to music. I can be on the opening screen. When I turn the volume back up, it immediatley turns it back down. It only doesn't go down if I physically hold my finger to volume bar on the touch screen.
And yes, I've updated all my software (on my ipod and laptop). I've also entirely reset my ipod twice.
Tell me, is it time to ditch the ipod and find some other sort of mp3 player (this is one problem at the end of a long list of less debilitating but equally annoying issues I've had with my 2 ipod touches)

I think I've solved my problem with a Google Search. I came across a free slide show generator
(contributions requested) that shows much higher quality slide shows than either iPhoto or Aperture 3.
You click on a folder of jpegs and it almost immediately generates thumbnails and within a few seconds
I can be viewing a full screen, tack sharp, slideshow of all of the files in the folder. Much sharper than
I'm used to seeing.
I think I'll keep the Aperture 3 and use if for the purpose it's intended for in the future. I'll also redo the
image preview files to the small size it started with and then I'll copy all of the files I'm interested in from
iPhoto into a separate folder on another disk. I'll use Aperture to catalog and to perform image manipulations
on but I won't try to use it as an iPhoto replacement. I don't think I'll be using iPhoto much as an image
viewer in the future either after I finish moving my favorite pictures to the Phoenix Slides folder.

All googling results in posts about the mic not recording sound loud enough or not working. My mic works just fine; it does the job of recording, but I want the chime to be loud so I don't have to look at the screen to know when I can speak; I like to hear the chime to alert me. Any help is appreciated!

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?
