5530e printer goes offline

After setting up and printing wireless just fine, the print results say that it is offline the next time i try to print. Windows control panel says the printer is turned off.  upon checking the printer, it is on and the wireless is on. I have run every diagnostic tool  hp and windows has.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software.  Each time i reinstall the printer it will work for one print task and then give an offline result on the next attempt.  I have tried two different laptops and get the same result.  help!

Hello philjupiter,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some issues when it comes to printing from your computer on two separate laptops.
Make sure that you have any Firewalls or Anti Virus protection disabled and then run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • HP LaserJet 600 M602 printer goes offline every night

    Hi,
I have a HP LaserJet 600 M602 CE991A printer on a wired network. I have quite a few other printers on the network as well and do not show me this kind of behavior.
But for some reason, this printer, from as soon as I bought it, goes offline every time from around 5.20-5.30pm to around 8.30pm. I have a ping tester running as I am trying to figure out what's going on and I got 100% drop every night for that time period.
I looked to see if there was a setting that puts this device to sleep or so but no, I cant find anything. I have tried with the energy setting sleep mode on or off, wake up events to trigger a wake up call to the printer but no luck.

I am out of options, in our other locations, we have sam printer but a CE993A models and they do not show this kind of behavior at all.
I am at a deadlock here.

  • HP Printer goes offline after software update!@

I'm having trouble with printer going offline on two of my computers:
    (imac 9,1 & 2014 macbook air)
    Printer: HP officejet 8500a Plus
I repaired the permissions on both hard drives to see if it was a cups/communication issue and deleted and reinstalled the software/printer.
This is really frustrating! any help or insight would be appreciated... I don't feel like code hunting tonight...

  • HP OfficeJet 6500A Printer goes offline shortly after setup

    Hi,
Question is: How do I stop my HP 6500A e710a-f printer from going offline? (this is NOT the 6500A+)
I have a Dell laptop running Win8.0, connecting wirelessly via a Huawei B593 LTE router. Printer is HP 6500A using the E710a-f driver. Printer is attached to the router via an ethernet cable.
I can create a new HP 6500A printer and print a test page over the wireless network. However, shortly after this, the printer goes 'offline'. I have tried to re-connect by restarting the Printer Servies, but - again - this only helps for a short period of time. i have also re-created the printer from scratch by deleting and then re-creating the printer. Again, the same result.
This should be a standard offering for what is an expensive home office printer with standard ethernet ports. Most home offices use wireless routers - so this should be a simple connection.
I have looked through the Forums, but not seen any definitive answer - a lot of suggestions over the last few years, but no straight answer.  Apart from the guy who left and bought an Epson instead........!
It cannot be that hard to fix what should be a standard offering for this printer.
    Can someone help me?

    Hi @MagnusB

  • SOLUTION to your HP printer going offline and/or constantly disconnecting from the network

If you are having a problem printing, scanning or faxing with any HP Printer because of it going offline and constantly disconnecting from the network, here is the fix!
I figured this all out after many unsuccessful attempts with HP Support, my Internet Service Provider and various troubleshooting tasks including reinstalling HP software over and over and over.  Well, through self teaching on the internet and 6 grueling months of research, I FINALLY figured it out.  OMG!  I am a Paramedic (not IT) and somewhat computer literate but by far no expert.  I here all of you!  Nobody seems to have the answer but I am 97% sure that I do.  Either way, please reply back and let me know that this did in fact work for you!  :-)
It doesn't matter if your printer is installed wirelessly or wired.  Don’t worry about reinstalling your software, no recycling your printers’ power or your Router/Modem.  The reason your printer is unstable on the network and continues to either go offline or disconnect from the network is NOT because the software is glitched, it’s not a firewall problem per say, it’s not a router problem, there isn’t a problem with your power cord, it’s because most networks use a “range” of IP addresses and for security purposes, it sort of “cycles” the various devices’ IP addresses to decrease the chance of an attack.  A printer is no threat but the “network” doesn’t possess human intelligence so it doesn’t know this.  Below are my step by step instructions on how to basically make your printer hold its IP address (static IP) instead of changing back and forth through a cycle therefore dropping your printer off the network or disconnecting.
Funny, if you are someone who has had items in your print cue, they won’t print, and you turn your printer off and then back on and suddenly your documents print…well, join my club.  The reason this works is because when you first turn on the printer, it starts with the same IP address before it cycles.  If you are someone who sits there for a while and suddenly your documents print without you changing anything…this is because through the IP cycle change, it hits your printers IP address and the network will allow it to print.  Not very funny, I know.  It took me forever to figure out why my printer would print sometimes but not all the time.  Since I figured this out, I can SCAN, PRINT and use all of the features of my installed HP software such as HP Solution Center, Photosmart Essentials.
On your printer, go to menu/setup/network and press OK.  Inside the network menu, print a "network configuration page" so you can see the IP address and other settings for your printer.
Now, go back to main menu on your printers’ screen.  Or you can go to your web browser and type in the IP address using the decimals too and this will take you to your printers’ web page.  Choose: setup\network and press OK.  Look for IP settings and press OK. Choose "manual" instead of "automatic". Enter the IP address there manually as well as the default gateway which you can see on the network configuration page that you printed earlier.  Note: If you manually set the printer's IP, make sure that it is outside of your router's DHCP range. Otherwise you may run into an issue with duplicate IP's on your network. (If you don’t know how to do this, write back and I will explain).  Don’t forget to click “save changes”.  Now, restart your computer and print anything you want.  :-)
A trick I often use with printers in DHCP networks:
In Printers and Faxes right click on the printer and select “properties”.  Click add a new port.  Choose standard TCP/IP port configured to the printer host name. Read the hostname from the printer's network configuration sheet.
Using my method means that you always connect to the printer even if its IP changes (which may happen with dynamic configuration). This does not jeopardize your network security.  It just tells your printer to stay put and stop traveling the IP address highway.  :-)
    This question was solved.

The DHCP range is the range of IP addresses the router hands out automatically as devices join the network.  The DHCP range is determined by the router and each brand has a range set at the factory (that can be changed by you).
Your D-link's DHCP default range is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199.  So, outside the DHCP range is .2 to .99 and .200 to .254.
Attached is a handy cheat sheet.
You can change this range by entering the router's settings page - type the router's IP address into a browser, enter the login info and navigate to the DHCP settings area (varies based on router, hunt around).

  • Hp 4000n, WIN 7 HOME NETWORK PRINTER GOES OFFLINE ON REBOOT

I have 2 WIN7 desktops and 2 printers.  One HP L4000n is attached locally to one computer and shared by the other computer on the home network.  It is attached to a standard parallel printer port (via) a IEEE1284 controller card.  The other printer is an HP m175nw connected directly to the router and shared across the network by both computers.  Every time I reboot  the 4000n goes into an offline status as to the non host computer and I must uninstall and reinstall it to be able to use it on the non host. Sometimes I have to jump through hoops and waste a lot of time even when I go through the uninstall reinstall process (it is hit or miss).  The M175nw is never a problem and is usable by both computers.  Is there any simple solution to this problem?
    Thanks

The 4000N appears to be a commercial LaserJet printer.  I recommend posting in the commercial LaserJet forums.

  • Printer goes offline after printing

Hello, I have an HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476DW used wireless, which worked fine until the upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.2. Now go offline after you have printed a copy and must be turned off and on for printing. And then press the last thing in the print queue and then goes back online. I uninstalled / reinstalled updated drivers etc but the problem persists. Can anyone advise please?
    Thank you, Emanuele.

If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.

  • 6500 A printer goes offline when computer updates

I am really coming to the end of my rope with this printer.  I used an HP computer running Windows ME, allegedly the worst operating system ever, for 10 YEARS with absolutely ZERO issues until my printer broke and nobody made a printer that would work with ME anymore.  So I bought a new computer running Windows 7 64 bit and have had absolutely nothing but problems.  It seems that every time the computer updates with the printer on, it throws the printer off line.  REALLY OFFLINE.  One time, the printer had to be uninstalled and reinstalled.  A huge PITA.  This time, it changed the printer address to some MAC address.  I have this printer on a wireless network.  I have been careful to ensure that the printer is off before I shut down the computer, since this is when it updates, but Sat evening, I forgot and shut the computer down with the printer on.  Now it won't scan or print and I get an error message stating that the computer can't communicate with the printer.  I have been afraid to add software or do anything but go on the Internet with this system, as I never know when something will change and kill the stupid printer.  I want to put software on this computer to put my vinyl onto CD, but am having so much trouble, i don't need anymore.  To make matters worse, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers, so this causes me more trouble than it might others.  What should I do? Thanks.........GREG

I just spent FOUR hours with HP technical people trying to get my printer to work again.  They tell me that it was originally a problem with my IP server messing up my printer address.  The printer address had been changed to a MAC address, which is some kind of a security address, origin unknown.  They performed their usual hocus-pocus and got the thing working again.  I chewed on a supervisor for a while and he promised a follow up call tomorrow.  All well and good, but the thing will work for a day, a week, or a month and then take a dump again.  VERY frustrating.  The thing should be able to be fixed, permanently, and work for ten years like my old one did without drama.  Good luck on your problem.  I have no help to offer, but HP tech people have been good to me.  If you are out of warranty, God be with you!!.........GREG

  • Wireless printer goes offline

I recently purchased an HP Laserjet Pro CP 1025nw wireless printer.  If I turn off the printer it is offline when I turn it back on.  I left it on all night and it was offline this morning.  The only way to resurrect it is to uninstall and install the program.  When I attempt to download solutions, all I get is to uninstall the program - back to square one.  Has anyone else encountered this problem and discovered a fix?
    This question was solved.

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can change the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • Printer goes offline

Currently have a HP Color laserjet 3600dn that is installed as a network printer and installed on a Windows 2008 R2.  The clients connect to the printer using Windows 7.
Periodically the printer will just go offline and there doesn't appear to be any rhythm or reason for it doing it.  Users will print to the printer and documents won't print but remain in the queue.  And usually what happens is the printer will decide to come back online and print the documents but the range of time may very.
Have done some of the simple things of turning off printer, unplugging, restarting print spooler and currently using version 61.82.61.41 of the HP printer drivers.  Have performed various internet searches and SNMP is not enabled as some have suggested.
Does anyone have other suggestions or have run into this problem?

This is kind of random, and may not apply to this, but I've had the exact same issue before with HP printers. When the HP printer had the Smart Install feature turned on, it would periodically kill network traffic to the printer. If your printers have this
feature, try turning them off. See below to find out how:
In order to turn off the Smart Install service, you will need to use the built in menu on the printer itself.  Do the following:
    Click Ok for the menu
Push the right arrow 3 times to get to the service menu
Then Push the left arrow (I think 3 times) to get to the Smart Install options
    Then choose off.
Again, this may not be relevant to your issue, but I'd kick myself if I didn't throw this random fix out there.

  • Printer goes offline after reboot (windows vista)

I'm running the latest version of bonjour for windows and vista is running the latest patches. Here's the problem: I can use bonjour to add my HP Laserjet with no problems and its prints perfectly. All is good until I need to restart the computer. After reboot, the printer is listed as offline and nothing I've tried can change the status. I can delete the printer and rerun bonjour and it works again until the next reboot. I don't know what changed but I use to be able to print all the time without this problem. Anyone have this problem or any solutions.
    Thanks

Same problem with here, except I've got three computers: one Mac and two WinXP (SP3) pc's. The mac has no problems but both PC's see my Canon PIXMA ip1800 as offline after they reboot. A re-run of the Bonjour setup fixes the problem until the next reboot. I've got the printer connected to an Airport Extreme Gigabit N base station. All software and firmware (on everything) is up to date. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Win 8.1 machines printer goes offline very frequently

    Hi,
We have some users are in win-8.1 OS, more frequently they have printer offline issue.
But, this is not for all the win-8.1 OS users. Only few of the peoples sometime printer is working well & sometime it went automatically offline.
Any solution to fix this printer problem.
    MD

    Hi,
Firstly, please access to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers, choose the printer you use and double click it. After that, click
Printer, check if Use Printer Offline was checked, if so, uncheck it.
Secondly, if problem persists, try to restart Print Spooler service for test.
If problem persists, try to reinstall printer driver for test.
