55SL417U has no sound from any input

55SL417U has not sound from any input. Have it setup on color stream 1 with RBG and L/R sound input, but when adding sn B26518T24851A1.
No sound.
No sound from colorstream input (RGB/LR)
No sound from Video 1 or Video 2.
No sound from Netflix app either
Any ideas? I have tried all the cables, reset the TV, power down
Also, I have lost the 4 HDMI inputs. What the heck happened?

Can't get sound from USB input device

I've got an Alesis iMultiMix 8 USB mixer plugged into my shiny new MacBook Pro (running Leopard). The Mac properly recognizes the USB Audio Codec as a sound input device, and in fact shows a signal being received from the mixer. However, I don't actually hear any sound from the mixer, even with it selected as my input device, and my recording program still records only from the built-in microphone. What am I doing wrong? Heh... it turns out that there was nothing wrong, at least technically. I got on the phone with Apple and asked if the native OS environment relays inputted audio through the speakers, and was told quite simply, "No." It looks like my PC schools Mac on that account.
As it happens, yes, the programs I was trying to use (Cubase, and I tried Garageband for gits and shiggles) DO have a monitor function to allow the ability, as well as ways to select your input. Cubase, the one I'd been experimenting with, simply has it coached in different (and extremely technical) terms and methods.
So, it looks like my difficulties arose from my lack of experience in a high-level audio program with a steep learning curve, coupled with what I perceive as a basic design shortcoming of Mac. (I think there should at least be an option in the OS environment somewhere.)

Same problem. iPad2 speakers and HDMI output do not work. Headphones and Bluetooth sound works fine.

My Iphone 4s has no sound from speakers and no text tones.

There is a red tag in the dock indicating water contact.
I cannot work out how this is. I have never used the phone in the rain and if i did i would expect the red tag to be in the headphone port.
I carry my phone at all times in my jacket pocket.
I never use the phone to listen to music in bathroom or shower.
It has never been near spills or dipped into my cup of morning coffee.
So.....how do I prove this to Apple and get a replacement??? Everything else works, just no sound from music and texts etc.
Done a restore and doesnt work.

Sorry about your situation. We do shell out some money for this phone (some more than others) but at the end of the day we are humans and these phones are also made by workers that cannot even afford and iPhone. Don't blame Apple (blame Foxconn?).
I normally use the vibrate with the Bluetooth headset and send the audio through the Bluetooth speaker, so this is not a big issue for me. However if your settings are correct they can verify this issue at the store immediately but not sure about the turn around but the Apple genius should have some estimate.
Hope the the Bluetooth can help.

I assume your talking about a real instrument... if your going through an audio interface, also, adjust your (mixer knob) on the interface, it could be turned down... works for me.

Ipad 2 has no sound from built-in speaker after one day.

"settings" and it is set to "lock rotation" instead of "mute". So I am pretty sure my ipad2 is not
muted in the first place, using the volume locker and the volume icon shows "headphones" but
I do not have the headphones plugged in. However I got sound when I plugged in the headphones,
unplugged them and I got no sound from the built-in speakers again.

You can reset your iPad by pressing and holding the On/Off/Wake/Sleep button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If it doesn't work, you can restore your iPad using iTunes by connecting it to your computer.

G350 Laptop Has no Sound From Speakers

Well, it has come to me having to post a thread after searching the Internet for a few days.
Got the Lenovo laptop, Vista installed.
Sound was working perfectly than it suddenly stopped.
I plugged in headphones and a headset. Neither worked.
This change seems to have occurred after a software installation, presumably Windows update.
I tried most things that people have suggested.
The only temporary fix is a System Restore to a few days before when I still had sound. It worked for a bit and then it went back to no sound.
Its not a hardware issue, I can tell you that much.
At the same time as this, my Itunes has the problem where it won't play any songs and the diamond indicator will not move.
They are connected through some sort of audio fu** up.
So...anyone have any solutions they can share? System restore fixed both issues for me but it doesn't seem to last.

Since upgrading to ML i am not able to hear any sound when opening email attatchments IE WMV files or anything

That indicates, that the problem is in your user library.
Quit GarageBand and remove the following files from the User Library:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.garageband/
Check, if you have incompatible sound fonts in ~/Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks/
~/Library/Containers/garageband10
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband10.LSSharedFileList.plist
You user library may still be hidden, as is the default in Mavericks: To open your hidden user library:
Select the "Home" folder icon (the little house) in the Finder's sidebar and press the key combination ⌘J to open the "view options".
Enable "Show Library Folder".
Then open the Home folder and open the Library folder inside and navigate to ~/Library/Caches , etc.
After removiing these files, restart the mac, before launching GarageBand again. You will have to reset all preferences, after removing these files, however.

There are already 8 solutions that may solve that problem:
1. Go to Apple Store and ask for repair.
2. Go to ifoneheadsetjackfix.blogspot.com and read how to repair it by yourself (requires opening iPhone).
3. Use headset and during a call turn on the speaker option, unplug headset, end a call and try another call without headset.
4. While headset is pluged in, turn iPod on, play some music, pause, unplug headset and try to make a call.
5. Restore your iPhone using iTunes.
6. Restart your iPhone (press and hold home and sleep button for about 10 seconds ignoring turn off slider).
7. Plug and unplug headset's jack several times.
8. Buy a brand new iPhone (just kidding).
And there is another one, solution number 9 which I found by myself and maybe works only for me. Hold on! It sounds crazy!
9. While making a call check the loudness of receiver by pressing volume buttons on the side of your iPhone. In my case my receiver works untill volume is less than 4 last points of maximum power (does it sound like proper, understandable English?). What I mean is that loudness of your receiver cannot be maximum. In my case it must be 4 points lower than the loudest value.
Sounds strange? Try before trying other ones. Good luck!
Of course there should be solution number 10 which is: next update fixes that issue. Hope that guys from Apple are already working on that.

I have several games downloaded from the App Store on my IPad such as Wheel of Fortune, Angry Birds, etc. There is no sound even though the sound button is on in each of these applications.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. You have to set it as the default out put device. Go to Control Panel- Sound- under the sound tab click to set the HDMI out put as default.

When you mention "no sound" and "chatting", you mean that your device is unable to produce sound. Or do you mean it is unable to capture sound?
Something you can do to being differentiating between hardware or software is the following: navigate to Settings > Sounds and slide the "RINGER AND ALERTS" volume slider up and down a little. When you let go do you hear anything?

I can't hear any sound from any flash website, or music players on myspace, and youtube.com etc... I think its a flash problem. It worked a few days ago. Is it a problem with my browser? With Flash? A virus?
