55TL515U Keeps Hunting for Input Resolution

I am trying to plug a Microsoft Surface into my TV to use it as a computer monitor.  When I do this, the TV continuously hunts for the resolution and refresh rate.  It shows it at the top of the TV (like when you first plug something in), but keeps changing and never settles on one or shows the picture.
I have connected the Surface to a different TV with the same HDMI cable and it worked just fine.  I have also used the TV as a monitor for an older computer with the VGA input and had no problems.
Any suggestions?

    Hi,
      Need a help in solving the below issue.
    "How to keep the field open for input with error message in report program"
    Regards,
    C.Shasiraj.

    Hi...
    you have to use the event:
    <b>AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON <FIELD> EVENT.</b>
    u have to give an error message in this event.
    Consider the following <b>Example:</b>
    <b>PARAMETERS : NUMBER TYPE I.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON NUMBER.
      IF NUMBER = 10.
        MESSAGE 'Number vakue is 10' TYPE 'E'.
      ENDIF.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      WRITE NUMBER.
    </b>
    in this if u give the value of number = 10, it will not proceed further, if u give some other value other than 10 you will proceed further...
    Execute this program once u will understand....

  • How to set default email address for input

    G'day all
    Summary: I'm sick, it's difficult to type, and a combination of autocorrect, default Shift key settings for input fields and my iPad completely ignoring my default email account is making it laborious to input my email address. Help!
    (Edit: I had a micro-brainwave and checked my "Me" card in Contacts, since I have Safari set to autofill from that card. My default email address is not listed first in the card. I've now put it on top, Gmail second and "me.com" last. I'll comment later on if I see this help with point 3 below.)
    Details:
    I love my shiny new iPad2. I really do. But autocorrect is driving me crrrrrazy when I try to input my email address.
    Typing in general is an issue for me, because I am disabled and have difficulties with coordination and movement. On my laptop (MacBook Pro mid 2009), I used TextExpander. It lets you set an abbreviation for any text, so you can just type that abbreviation instead of the whole thing, and TextExpander automagically inputs the whole thing for you.
    I have a long email address, because my ISP has quite a long domain name. So only typing 4 characters (my abbreviation) instead of the whole 23 characters was a big help for me.
    Enter the iPad.
    I need to use the iPad now, because my laptop is now too heavy for my legs (and I do occasionally need a full-on laptop, so the MacBook Air isn't the solution). The iPad in general has been great for me. The simplification of the interface (while annoying at times, e.g. not being able to view full headers in an email) saves brain cycles, so I can read for longer.
    However, where on my laptop I only needed to input 4 chars for my email address, on my iPad I have to input the whole 23 chars. How many places online are you asked to input your email address? Way too many. Safari may eventually catch up and record some of them, but currrently, I'm using too much of my day's energy just on trying to input my email address. (Note: this post is written on my laptop, so I can use my abbreviations.)
    TextExpander is available for iOS, but due to Apple's current refusal to allow integration with its apps, TextExpander isn't allowed to input stuff directly. Just like with the indispensable password program 1Password, you have to switch from Safari to the other app., search for and select and copy the text you want, then switch back to Safari, select the field and press Paste.
    Grrr.
    I may get desperate enough to go through those steps each time, if things don't improve with my email address. My problems are:
    1. Very few email-address fields in webpages currently have the appropriate settings to instruct the iPad keyboard not to start with the Shift key down. This means every time you try to input your email address, it will start with an upper-case letter.
    Half the time I don't notice until I've got part-way through typing my address, so I have to delete all those chars and start again. About a quarter of the time, after deleting, I don't notice that the Shift key has been activated again, so I go through the whole process again.
    2. Even when the email-address field turns off the Shift key, or when I remember to do it myself before entering text, autocorrect will insist on changing the first letter back to upper-case, because my username is also my first name. Cue more deleting and getting confused.
    3. This is the big one: once my username is up there, autocorrect insists on entering my "me.com" email address. This is the email address I use least. When I laboriously (again) delete this text and start again, it will either insist again on "me.com", or input my Gmail address. That is the email address I use second least. Autocorrect never inputs my main email address, set as my default account in the Mail-Con-Cal Settings. (This is a POP-only account.)
    4. Even if I do manage to input my whole email address correctly, autocorrect will insist on capitalizing the first letter of the domain name (which is also a location). Cue yet more deletion and retyping.
    Are there any ways to avoid wasting so much energy on trying to input my email address?
    Is there any way to set the default input email address? Or to tell the iPad/Safari that an email address field doesn't require the Shift key?
    I've had my iPad for nearly three months now, using it for my day-to-day activities, and I've been hoping this problem would gradually go away, that the software would finally catch on to my main email address (from the default account) which I have input over and over (and OVER) into email-address fields.
    Evidently not.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    As Roosevelt suggested, you can turn off Auto Correction in the keyboard settings. Go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Auto Correction>Off.
    This will also turn off spell check (unfortunately) and there is no fix for that. Auto Caps can also be turned off as well and so can the keyboard shortcut for the space/period. Frankly, all of these features drive me nuts and I wish the iOS allowed for more control, but it does not.
    As fars as typing your email address, be aware that even if you type your email address in all caps it still works. So if Autofill insists on capitalizing the first letter in your name in the email address - and it will insist on doing so - you can just let it go as is and it will still work. Doesn't really get to the heart of the matter but it would save you the laborious deleting and retyping.
    Having said that, when the Auto Correction suggests a word or wants to set a capital latter, you can tap the "x" in the pop up suggestion to ignore that word, cap, whatever. The dictionary is then supposed to "learn" your word if you refuse that suggested word enough times. This is another feature that seems to have a mind of it's own at times since sometimes it may take more than a few attempts to get the Auto Correct to not come up and instead allow your chosen word to be freely typed as desired.
    Lastly, with regard to your correct email address popping up, that is another case of if repeated time and time again, It should be another case of the iOS "learning" through repetition that your default email should popup when you begin entering the address.
    You could try to rectify all of this by resetting all of your settings and clearing Autofill but you would be starting all over again which is something I think you would rather avoid.
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset Keyboard Dictionary
    Settings>Safari>Autofill -tap names and passwords>Clear all
    As Roosevelt suggested, submit feedback, and I hope you find some resolution to this.
    Quick Note - I originally typed this post on my iPad and when I read a few of the words that were substituted by auto correct - I quickly turned to my iMac to change the words. I do feel your pain with regard to auto Correct!

    Have you tried running the script manually to confirm it isnt just hanging on input for the lftp ?
    You could add a -o <file> to the lftp command line which would output debug info into <file> so you could see.
    Creation of the job looks fine so as GregV said, what output do you have in ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS and any ADDITIONAL_INFO in the ALL_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS or in $ORACLE_HOME/scheduler/log that might indicate what the problem is ?

    HP Officejet pro 8500 won't print and keeps asking for a proxy setting. Help.

    Hi,
    Can you confirm that you have an Officejet 8500a or Officejet 8500? On the 8500a model, you can set the networks proxy address and port setting from the front panel of the printer (setup>Webservices setup>proxy). If you are unsure what your proxy settings are you'll need to contact your network admin. If your network uses a proxy users name and password for all devices, you need to enter this information along with the proxy address and port in the printers embedded web server. Type the products IP address into an internet brownser window (printer must be connected to the same network as PC). Select the network tab, and than look for the proxy settings option. Enter in the information and click apply. Once the networks proxy information has been correctly inputed into the embedded web server, try printing again. If unsuccessfully, you might try reinstalling the printer software after uninstalling it. Hope this helps!

  • Closing INDIVIDUAL lines for input in a table control

    Right, hopefully I can explain my issue clearly enough to get an answer that will help me resolve this pain in the *** issue.
    My table control has a delete function but the client doesn't want the line removed from the control table they simply want the line in question to be greyed out (closed for input). Has anyone achieved this in the past? I know it's possible to grey out columns but I can't see any way of doing individual lines.
    For all answers that help me I will shout a beer provided you are in either Sydney or Adelaide.

  • ICloud keeps asking for password but will not take it. All other devices work but not my IMac???

    ICloud keeps asking for password but will not take it. All other devices work but not my IMac???

    Exactly which password are you inputting? iCloud looks for your AppleID password.

  • Keeps asking for username password proxy server

    When i start Firefox 8 at work, Firefox keeps asking for username and password. I have fild in the network settings to not use a proxyserver for: 150.0.*;12.0.*.
    Now the startpage of Firefox is our ourIntranet which is: http://ourintranet (which has a ip example: 150.0.2.3
    So what i want to do is: use proxy except for this ip: xxxxxxxx, because this ip is http:\\ourintranet
    Now i cannot go to http:\\ourintranet because he keeps asking for password.

    I'm not sure why it's not working. I think Firefox looks in the hosts file and then the configured/automatic DNS server for address resolution, in that order. To specify otherwise (for eg. a proxy for address resolution) the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.proxy.socks_remote_dns network.proxy.socks_remote_dns] in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config] has to be set to true.
    You can also check in a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles new profile]. A new profile would have the default settings and wouldn't usually have any installed extensions and would be clean. You can try then try the proxy settings.
    The 150.0.2.0/24 should work (24 bits for the network with 254 addresses - http://www.subnet-calculator.com/cidr.php) unless perhaps the network is super-netted in which case you can also try the supernet prefix instead of /24.

  • Keynote - files too big to email/share, looking for PDF resolution solution

    Has anyone worked out how to change a keynote presentation PDF resolution when preparing for sharing? The file I get is too big to email (6 photos gave me 55mb) as it appears to retain the input resolution of the embedded photos?

    If using Acrobat 9 Go To Document>Reduce File size.
    If Using Acrobat X or XI to tot he tools sidebar and use Optimize for Web Distribution.
    If you do not want to fool witht he pdf in any way then download Adobe Send Now app and use their free service or subscribe for a year for a whopping $29.95.
    The free version allows you to upload files upt to 500MB there may be limitis to how many files you can upload it sends an e-mail to the parties you want to download the files and they simply follow the link and it downloads.
    The paid version allows you to upload files as large as 2 GB and gives you 20GB of storage. I immediately myself purchased the paid version.
    If you hppen to upgrade to the cloud then you get the paid version free.

  • Which setting should I have my apple tv set for picture resolution/quality it takes like a whole day for a movie to download before we can watch it

    Which setting should I have my apple tv set for picture resolution/quality as it can take a whole day to download a movie before we can watch it??

    The video/audio display settings should set automatically for the best your TV can handle (720p AppleTV2, 1080p AppleTV3).
    The download resolution for rentals or playback of purchases from the cloud is set in settings for iTunes store.
    Sounds as though you have slow internet.  For near instant streaming of video from iTunes store you need around:
    Standard Definition     2.5 Mbps
    720p HD                    6 Mbps
    1080p HD                  8 Mbps
    Any slower for a given quality setting and the movie has to buffer as it can't keep up in real time.  This might be a few minutes if close to the rated speed or many hours, even overnight.
    As pcd251s suggests you could test internet speed (speedtest.net on a computer for example).  If that is fine, sometimes the LAN if on wifi can be extremely slow in certain locations - ethernet connections would troubleshoot that.
    Slow internet is the common issue here.  AppleTV does not have permanent storage and using it to play other content or browse trailers while a rental is buffering can reset the buffering process.   In such cases you might be better off planning in advance, renting in iTunes, letting the whole thing FULLY download and it will then be available across teh LAN to stream from computer to AppleTV under Computers>iTunes library name>Rentals.

  • Need help with re-prompting the user for input .

    I am trying to wright a code the re prompts the user for input if they enter anything but an integer but I keep getting a "char cannot be dereferenced" error when I try to compile.
    Here's what I have got:
    import java.util.Scanner; // imports Scanner methods
    public class SandBox
      public static void main(String[] args)
          // re-prompting test
          Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);
          System.out.println("Please enter an integer: ");
          String i = in.nextLine();
          for(int a=0; a<i.length(); a++)
              if( (i.charAt(a).isDigit()) ) {
                  System.out.println("Thank you!");
                  break;
                } else {
                    System.out.println("Please try again");
                    continue;
          int b = Interger.parseInt(i);
      }// end of class
    }//end of main method

    Sorry for double posting but it won't let edit my last post.
    I would prefer to go through it without using try catch because it takes longer though I will use it if I cannot get the other way working. I currently have two versions of the code both using try catch and the other way but both say that they "cannot find symbol" when I try to parse. here are both versions of the code:
    import java.util.Scanner; // imports Scanner methods
    public class SandBox
      public static void main(String[] args)
          // try catch test
          boolean inputIsFaulty = true;
          int inputInt = 0;
          Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);
          do {
             System.out.println("Please enter an integer: ");
             String i = in.nextLine();
             for(int a=0; a<i.length(); a++)
                if (Character.isDigit(i.charAt(a))) {
                  System.out.println("Thank you!");
                  inputIsFaulty = false;
                } else {
                    System.out.println("Please try again");
            while (inputIsFaulty);
          inputInt = Integer.parseInt(i);
      }//end of class
    }//end of main method
    import java.util.Scanner; // imports Scanner methods
    public class SandBox2
      public static void main(String[] args)
          // try catch test
          boolean inputNotOK = true;
          int inputInt = 0;
          Scanner in = new Scanner(System.in);
          do {
             System.out.print("Please enter an integer: ");
             String inputStr = in.nextLine();
             try {

  • How to keep pageDef bound inputs?

    Hi all
    Its me again ;-) Now i have a very trivial problem. I have two jspx-pages (page A and page B). On page A i have an inputText, bound to an attributeValue, which is bound to a variable in the pageDef of this page. When i click the submit-button, i do something with the input of this inputText, before i went to page B. Now i went back to page A and the inputText is empty.
    Is it possible, to keep the previous input? I can build a Bean stored in the session context to bind this inputText, but i think its a bit oversized for a simple String.
    PageDef of page A

    Majo,
    As per my understanding, when you come back to PageA(some page) all bindings and iterators will be initialized, at that time the value in variable iterator will be reset. Attributes pointing to some view object iterator holds the data becasue that data will be stored in view object when navigated to some other page or request is submitted and when we come back to same page again it gets back the data from the view object and show it in the page but it is not the case with variable iterator(which just stores the data in pagedefinition and loose the value when we refresh the page).

  • Is there a linear equations VI thatI can use for inputting the coefficients with variables attached to them? Thank you.

    Is there a linear equation VI that I can use for inputting the coefficients with variables attached to them? I am currently studying elec engineering and am in the thick of transient analysis. It is very time consuming figuring the mesh and nodal analysis in the transform domain. With 3 branches in a mesh analysis the resistors, inductors and capacitors are represented with variable s in them. I need to determine in the transform domain then convert to the time domain. One equation goes like this: (3+2s+1/4s)i1s - (2s)i2s - (1/4s)i3s = 6/s -6. The other equations are similar. I must keep the variable s in the equation and solve it with s in the result. I made several VIs for determining simultaneous linear equations some for complex numbers and they work great. This one has me a little stumped. I thinking that maybe Labview doesn't have a VI for this. The other VIs were fine because you just plugged in the numbers and ran the VI and got your result. Any VIs that do LaPlace transform operations?
    Thank you.
    Tom

    Hello Tom,
    You can find a VI for doing Laplace transforms in Functions->Analyze->Signal Processing->Frequency Domain (this VI is only available in the Full and Professional versions).
    You may also find the following tutorial of help in working with linear systems in LabVIEW.

  • Computer keeps "resetting" for no reason

    I like to keep my computer on overnight (logged into my account) but today I woke up to the slim login screen. Yesterday a similar thign happened where I had left the computer alone for a few hours only to find that it had logged me out somehow. Here's the only interesting stuff from /var/log/everything.log:
    Nov 4 03:48:21 brian-laptop gnome-session[29044]: WARNING: Unable to determine session: Unable to lookup session information for process '29044'

    Any idea what's going on?
    EDIT: Oops, I meant to post this in the newbie corner, would a mod be so kind?

    The whole thing as requested .
