55VL900a - media streaming via WLan breaks after 10-15 min

I was hoping someone might help me.
I like to stream video from my MacBook Pro to the my TV.
They are both connected to my wireless network and it all works fine for abour 10~15 mins and then the TV stops streaming.
I thought it was my Mac, then I thought it was my network, but, on the same network and setup I can stream to my ipad no issues. It seems the problem is coming from the TV..
I don't know what else to try.
I was hoping someone out there had a solution or an idea of something I can try.
I have tried using a wired connection to the TV.
Same result. I am at my wits end..

Hi
I would recommend you to check the [55VL900A user manual|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/file/product/manual/5187/55VL900A.pdf] how to configure and use the TV within the home network and how to use the internal Media Player in connection with DLNA certified server

  • XBOX 360 & TV Media Streaming Via HH3

    Hello All,
    I know this has been asked a few times, but I cannot find a definitive answer.
    Recently moved over to BT and I am having a nightmare getting both my TV & XBOX to see my media on the PC.
    Before with SKY everything was working perfect, but the HH seems to block everything. Normal Internet access on XBL is fine, but media is a no go..
    Is there is specific guide to enable this again, as I am lost without it, and am really disappointed its blocked it all like it has.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you
    Lee

    If you mean with the xbox for example restore the network to factory settings, then yes did that.
    Did a network test of the TV and all show fine too.
    Like i said before xbox live works fine, and everything that goes with it. Its simply a problem with streaming media that causes the hiccup.
    Pinging the xbox came back with "timed out" the TV is set to auto and doesn't show the IP so cant ping it.
    This points to an internal networking problem, you should be able to ping any internal ip address and get a response.
    The homehub recognises the xbox also, and what i think is the TV ans what i think is the TV but it tagged "unknown"
    That makes sense, the Hub would see the Tv as unknown because it doesn't have or use a DNS name.
    To test this out further is there any way you can bypass the Homeplug/s....and I take it UPnP is enabled in the Hub....
    or power cycle the hub by removing the power lead for 30 seconds b4 plugging back in.....or do a factory reset on the Hub..

  • Airport Extreme, 5Ghz connectivity problems and poor media streaming

    Hi,
    I purchased an extreme from the apple store a little over a week ago, and before I send the device back I would like to solicit recommendations from this forum.
    Some information about the setup:
    - Single airport extreme (supplying wifi services for my non-wifi DSL router and a connected USB disk)
    - Airport Extreme Firmware: 7.4.2
    - iTunes: 9.0
    - OS: Snow Leopard (10.6.1), Leopard (10.5.8), Window Vista.
    - Harddrive: 2TB lacie, USB2.0 connection only
    - 2.4 and 5 Ghz broadcasting mode
    - The device is broadcasting on all supported protocols.
    - Multiple clients (various: apple, microsoft, fujitsu)
    - Small space, no major concrete/brick/stone walls, signal strength is 5 bars of goodness
    - Country: Spain (I know there were 5Ghz restrictions here a while ago, but the device broadcasts on 5Ghz and is therefore not crippled).
    If anything else could be of use, let me know and I'll update this list.
    And now the problems:
    1) 5Ghz connections fail
    When connecting over the 5Ghz freq my connectivity to the extreme and the services it is offering (internet, disk sharing) is intermittent, at best. Basically, it has not worked reliably since I took it out of the box. This is equal for both of my macbooks and a fujitsu laptop (all with n support).
    I've tried switching channels to avoid congestion - I don't live in a wifi-heavy area, and there are no other likely sources of interference (e.g. microwaves, cordless phones).
    My connections to mounted disks come and go, I have to re-authenticate, and so on.
    A general scan of the environment with KisMac does not show any major interference from other wifi networks (only 2 others in range, one is wimax).
    I've tried to do some wifi analysis to see if I can spot any frame/packet related issues. Some rudimentary analysis indicates that when the connection stops working on the 5Ghz channel my laptop continually sends request-to-send packets to the extreme, but does not receive a clear-to-send. This occurs after a-few-seconds to a-couple-of-minutes of connectivity - the connection initially 'works' (i.e. wifi packets are sent/received correctly and I can access the internet).
    2) Data access and media streaming from the connected USB drive is very poor
    I've mostly had problems with itunes. I thought this might be related to the size of my library, but this shouldn't effect single track playing. Even enabling large buffering in itunes results in intermittent pauses and long track loading.
    Note: this occurs over b/g connections; as stated already, n connections don't work. iTunes simply goes into a coma for while and then eventually fails. See above. Also, if I just stream from my macbook (i.e. HD connected via USB), it works flawlessly.
    The extreme was running 7.4.2 - updated on first connection. It's now running 7.4.1, as I read on the forums that there were some perceived problems with 7.4.2 (although these perceptions may not be accurate.
    Concl(f)usion:
    I believe I've ruled out the following:
    - Distance
    - Interference
    - Laptop related issues (the same problem occurs with 2 macbooks and a fujitsu laptop).
    - Latest firmware
    - Software (apps, OS, etc)
    Which leaves me to ponder two possibilities:
    a) The extreme is damaged.
    b) The extreme is not a good product (surely this can't be so?!)
    There is, of course, a c-possibility ... that the collective experience of the online community might be able to offer me an alternative path?
    I would be very grateful if anyone could offer any suggestions, tips, tricks, spells or simply a hug before I contact apple to begin the process of explaining the issues and seeking some care.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Dave.

    I have had the same problem. Really frusrtating, expecially since the reason I bought the airport was because of all the wireless congestion in my neigborhood with only 11 channels on the 2.4 GHz spectrum.
    Bought my airport dual band about a week ago. It had the firware 7.4.2. After extensive searching, I found other with similar issues. Apparently the last stable firmware may be 7.3.8. I am on 7.4.0 and not having any issues any longer (only testing one day now).
    This may solve your issue. Login to your airport and choose manual setup. on the summary page, find 'Version' 7.x" and click on the word 'version'. This will allow you to rollback your firmware. I went with 7.4. Depending on what options you need with airdisk, Time Capsule, rolling back may remove those options, so experiment. You can always go back to 7.4.1 or 7.4.2 from within the interface.
    Hope this helps.

    Hardware: Speedport W724V Typ A
    Server von Apple sind / waren bereits hinterlegt.
    Bin für jede Hilfe dankbar!

    I've made more tests and it seems the sync and even detection of the iPad fails if I ripp a CD to MP3 prior to sync the songs.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. insert a CD ROM and activate "MP3 import"
    2. the MP3 songs are ripped to a folder and added to the media list
    3. Drag and drop the songs to the iPad music folder
    iTunes get stuck and sync forever. Only killing iTunes und enable/disable of flight mode on iPad let it work again.
    It is iTunes 10.6 on Windows and iPad3 via WLAN sync. Workaround is to connect the USB cable and sync.
    Sometimes after restarting iTunes under above condition the iPad is not detected via WLAN at all. It is not listed as target device in iTunes and only cabling the iPad via USB solved the issue.

  • No Media Streaming -BT Infinity

    I have had BT Infinity installed today and can no longer stream movies and other files from my PC to my PS3 via my comtrend power plugs. This used to work flawlessly on my old  Black Homehub 2 but the new hub supplied with the infinity whilst the internet connection to the PS3 works it no longer recognises my PC or does so intermittantly, any ideas?

    I had a very similiar problem to this, not a ps3 but another device that I stream media to from my pc.
    There are also a couple of threads regarding the subject.

    http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-in-Home/Home-Hub-2-and-media-server-not-working/m-p/41002#M24648
    As far as I'm concerned its a router issue, that needs fixed in firmware.
    My previous router using Sky never had this issue and the problems only began when the Homehub 2b was put in place of the Sky router.
    Possibly some sort of power saving feature on ports, reason I say this is because when it did connect it would drop the connection after about a half hour without fail.
    Somebody at BT needs to look into this and try and find a resolution, hopefully a mod can arrange this.

  • MOH and Media Bypass no longer working after Skype Business updates

    Not using the Skype Business skin but still using the Lync Enterprise 2013 skin
    1 - MOH still works ok with call park but not for basic Lync to Lync calls or Lync to PSTN calls. Basically I noticed that CsClientPolicy EnableClientMusicOnHold was now set to false instead of true and so I set it back to True and set the music file path
    as per below. Now when I place a call on hold I hear the new soft swoosh sound for going on hold but I don't not hear any music. Under Options>Ringtones and Sounds I have the following  file selected: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Application
    Host\Applications\Conferencing Attendant\Media\Music\DefaultHold.wma which seems to work fine for call park but not basic call HOLD. Note: the Hold/Resume functionality/sip signalling works ok - any ideas?
    2 - My current setup is with a Mitel MiVB PBX connected via a sip trunk (does not support TLS/SRTP and so it is disabled and using TCP/RTP) to Lync Enterprise 2013 with redundant mediation servers Ms-1 and Ms-2. I have Network Configuration > Global
    > Enable media bypass and Always bypass selected and enabled, as well, under Voice Routing > Trunk Configuration >  [Encryption support level = Not Supported / Refer = 3rd party / Enable media bypass = enabled / Centralized media processing =
    enabled] ... after the update the media is not bypassing mediation servers anymore ... any ideas as to why?

    MOH issue: Thx but i have tried many times without success, I even added and pointed to a new file magicHold.wma (BTW DefaultHold is a .wma file and not .wav) which I have set for both Call Park hold and basic call hold (i can see the file is selected
    under the lync client options > Ringtones and Sounds > Play MOH + <.wma file path>. The magicHold.wma file is played ok during call park but for basic call there is still still NO MOH regardless of which file I select for basic call MOH
    - I have restarted my VM-Front End server box without any chnage - is there anything else that could possibly be affecting this? Also when I capture the RTP on the mediation server I don't see any MOH RTP being sent from Lync to PSTN when on hold. Please advise
    if anyone has any other insight.
    Set-CSClientPolicy –Identity Global –EnableClientMusicOnHold $true –MusicOnHoldAudioFile “\\lyncservername\LyncMOH\DefaultHold.wav”

  • Photo Stream (via iCloud) is no longer working on PC -- w/o system changes

    Photo Stream (via iCloud) worked great on my Windows PC a week ago.  Suddenly it's stopped entirely.  When I attempt to open it, I get an error message that says that "Photo Stream is not enabled" and that I should go to the iCloud Control Panel.  When I go to the Control Panel to initiate the change, I can put a check mark in the box to activate it, but it will not retain the change when I hit apply/save.  It also disables Windows Explorer when I do this.
    I don't believe this is an IOS6 issue since it was working fine for a period of time after I put IOS6 on both my iPhone and iPad devices.  I've also not made any changes to the Windows laptop involved.
    Is anyone else having this problem.  Any suggestions on how to resolve it?

    After upgrading to iOS 8.1, upgrading to the latest iTunes and re-installing iCloud for Windows, Photo Stream is working again!

  • Use as a media streamer?

    I have a 'spare' 1.66ghz core duo mini.
    I am trying to determine if I could use it as a media streamer to my TV.
    ie I want to use the rascal for external services like netflix and amazon...
    Some questions:
    1) My cable connection is a nominal 4mbs/sec. Is this adequate bandwidth for
    Watching movies from netflix? The mini would be connected to my lan
    Via 802.11g wireless.
    2) I can attach the mini to the tv via a mini dvi to hmdi cable for the video but
    I am not clear on how to handle the sound. I don't want to install an audio
    processor and I am not sure I can get suitable audio from the headphone Jack.
    I have a wd tv live for showing local video, and it works fine for that task.
    Any suggestions?
    Jerry

    Your mini should have a full sized DVI connector if it is the 1.66ghz Core Duo model. A DVI to HDMI connection should work well, depending more on the settings offered by your TV. For audio, see if one of the HDMI ports on the TV has a set of audio inputs paired with it. If so, that is the one you should use to connect your mini, and you can easily use a stereo 3.5mm (1/8") to stereo RCA (phono 'red and white') cable to pass the audio to your TV. You can also use digital optical input if your TV offers that paired with an HDMI input, but if your TV only has 2 speakers anyway, this may not be necessary.

  • Deliver HTTP ABR HDS+HLS Streams via Player Object to All Devices

    I have been unable to successfully establish a single video player object (similar to when delivering single-bitrate streams via FLVPlayback component with Flash Pro) that will automatically detect the browser type and automatically deliver the appropriate .f4m or .m3u8 manifest when broadcasting using HTTP adaptive bitrate streaming with FMLE3 and AMS5.
    I have both the HDS and HLS streaming working separately--the AMS5 sample videoPlayer.html file will accept and play video content when fed the URL: http://csitsfms.sys.oakland.edu/mbrBlack.f4m; however, I have not had success in getting any .f4m streams initiated in any other fashion.
    Also, HLS streaming is verified to be working on: http://csitsfms.sys.oakland.edu/mbrBlack.m3u8 when using an option such as VLC Player's File -> Open Network Stream command.
    The end desired result is that a user will navigate to  a particular URL and the browser autodetects whether to deliver the .f4m or the m3u8 manifest and initiate the appropriate stream to a single video playback object.
    We've had FMS up and running since v3.5; however, have just recently upgraded to AMS5.0.x and would like to enable adaptive bitrate streaming to all devices; we have no problem with single-bitrate streaming to Flash-enabled devices.
    I have also tried using the sample videoPlayer.html page's auto-generated code, dropping that onto an otherwise empty HTML document; however, Error 2048 was returned instead of a valid stream. Using a similar process with the OSMF generator, the error standard error, "We are having problems with playback. We apologize for the inconvenience."
    It may be noted that we have SWFVerification enabled for our domain, in case this is what may be impeding our efforts.

    take a look at this links
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobe-media-server/articles/beginning-fms45-pt01.html
    i think you are not calling the video properly in the HTTP URL.
    http://csitsfms.sys.oakland.edu/mbrBlack.f4m  willnot work. If you are using the AMS videoplayer.html use the embeded code and paste it in a html file.
    http://domain.com/hds-vod/filename.f4m WILL NOT WORK . This will only display the content of the f4m file.

  • RTP Media Stream with "Third Party SIP Device" always through CUCM

    Hello,
    i have i quite strage problem on one of my customers locations:
    we have a cucm 7.1.5(SU4) with the cucm in the datacenter. And we have a small location(branch office) which has a small wan connection to the datacenter (1MBit/s).
    In this location we have several Kirk (Polycom) Dect phones which register as "Third Party SIP Device - Basic" on the CUCM.
    (The problem is the same if i use the X-Lite SIP Client instead)
    When this SIP Phones or the X-Lite Client dials a internal Number of the same location the RTP Media Streams goes directly from the SIP Client to the phone. But if they dial an external number the RTP Stream goes from the SIP Client via the wan connection to the CUCM and back via the wan connection to the 2901 H.323 Gateway (on the same location).
    and of course if i now start a big download or upload i'm no longe able to complete the phone call because we have no QOS on the wan connection, because we don't want to make calls over this connection.
    When i look at the Sniffer files with Wireshark i see that the CUCM sends his own ip adresse in the SDP Header for the RTP Stream to the SIP Client. And this of course is wrong because the RTP Stream should always reside on the branch office.
    i tested this in my lab (CUCM 8.5) and it is the same. i used the "Standard SIP Profile" and a Basic Third Party SIP Device"
    The SCCP Phones on the same location which are configured with the same Region, Location, Device Pools, Media Resources and which use the same Gateway for external calls do not have this problem.
    In the Gateway configuration "MTP Required" is not activated and i tested it in my lab with some Cisco SIP Phones (9971) and they are also not affacted with this problem.
    any ideas?

    do you have a SIP trunk to the external devices with MTP required checked ?

  • IP Voice Media Streaming App won't start

    I'm using CUCM 7.1.5, but this was occurring in 7.1.3 also.  I can start all of my other services except this one.  CUCM says it starts the service successfully, but it still says "Not Running."  This is the output of the service's log file.  At the bottom it says it can't find the device driver.  Any thoughts on how to fix this?  Thanks.

    Rob,
    I used those directions and found some other ones that worked better for me and it solved my issue!  Here are the steps for the archives:
    Download the CentOS 5.x CD
    Restart the VM with that CD
    At the "boot:" prompt type "linux rescue"
    Then after it finishes booting up type "chroot /mnt/sysimage"
    That will try to mount the CUCM file system to the root directory.
    Then navigate to /lib/modules/cm_ipvms/ and identify directory xyz.i686
    Create a new directory called xyz.athlon and copy all contents from xyz.i686 to the new directory xyz.athlon
    Do the same for all directories ending .i686, so there is a .athlon equivalent for each i686 folder.
    Restart CUCM vmware and boot normally
    Then try to start the service.

  • Injecting DTMF event in the midst of RTP media streaming?

    Hi all, I am attempting to implement a mechanism that allows me to inject DTMF RTP events in an RTP media stream. This is useful in telephony applications where the users are prompted to enter digits while being served by automated voice services such as answerinng services or tele-bankings etc. So basically my approach is to extend Sun's RTP packetizer and intercept outgoing packets when necessary and replace them with the appropriate DTMF RTP (RFC 2833) packets. Sounds simple enough. So I derived my custom packetizer from com.sun.media.codec.audio.ulaw.Packetizer, and over-ridden method process(). Normally my packetizer's method process() simply delegates the functionality to its parent class's process() method. When a DTMF digit is required I'd take the outputbuffer generated by the parent's process() and modify its header and payload to turn it into a DTMF RTP packet. The problem is that the class RTPHeader is so limited, there is no way to set the payload type, sequence number, ... And the documentation is precious few and far in between. If someone has solved this issue, or if you have a reference to some documentation that describes the inner working of JMF's codec chaining, I would appreciate some pointers. What I need to know is:
    - What JMF does with the Buffer objects between stages (from one codec to the next)?
    - The data portion of Buffer is an Object of arbitray class, what on earth does JMF do with that?
    - How does JMF take a Buffer object and turn it into a UDP packet?
    - How do I go about creating an RTP header and fill it with the information (payload type, timestamp, sequence number, ...) that I want?
    Thanks in advance,

    I don't know what the heck RTPHeader represents but it sure doesn't seem to conform to RFC1889. And also, it seems the UDP RTP packets are formed somewhere after the packetizer and before the RTP connector, someone oughta jot all this down in a book. So anyway, using my own RTPConnector implementation I have some control over the outgoing/incoming RTP packets, to access and manipulate the real RTP header (not RTPHeader), I devised a new class that takes the RTP packet buffer and provides an API to examine and manipulate some RTP info directly on the buffer without doing any unecessary data copy (you guys can extend it to do more as per your requirement):
    package com.mycompany.media;
    import javax.media.rtp.RTPConnector;
    import java.net.DatagramSocket;
    import java.net.InetAddress;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.media.protocol.ContentDescriptor;
    import javax.media.protocol.SourceTransferHandler;
    import java.net.DatagramPacket;
    import javax.media.protocol.PushSourceStream;
    import javax.media.rtp.OutputDataStream;
    import java.net.SocketException;
    import mitel.utilities.MiQueue;
    import java.nio.ByteBuffer;
    import java.util.LinkedList;
    class MiRtpHeader
         byte[] data;
         int myoffset;
         public MiRtpHeader(byte[] buf, int offset, int len) throws ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
              if(len < 12)
                   throw new ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException("Buffer not large enough to contain a basic RTP header");
              data = buf;
              myoffset = offset;
         public boolean getExtension()
              return (0 != (data[myoffset] & 0x10));
         public void setExtension(boolean state)
              if(state)
                   data[myoffset] = (byte)(data[myoffset] | 0x10);
              else
                   data[myoffset] = (byte)(data[myoffset] & 0xef);
         public boolean getMarker()
              return (0 != (data[myoffset + 1] & 0x80));
         public void setMarker(boolean state)
              if(state)
                   data[myoffset + 1] = (byte)(data[myoffset + 1] | 0x80);
              else
                   data[myoffset + 1] = (byte)(data[myoffset + 1] & 0x7f);
         public int getTs()
              ByteBuffer tsBuf = ByteBuffer.wrap(data, myoffset + 4, 4);
              return tsBuf.getInt();
         public void setTs(int ts)
              ByteBuffer tsBuf = ByteBuffer.wrap(data, myoffset + 4, 4);
              tsBuf.putInt(ts);
         public int getPayloadType()
              ByteBuffer ptBuf = ByteBuffer.wrap(data, myoffset + 1, 1);
              return ptBuf.get();
    }

  • P2P media streaming

    Hello,
    i am trying to implement a small demo P2P application which involved PC and mobile devices. I wanted to split a media into byte chunks and store them on different peer. If a peer wants to watch a file, it will need to fetch each chuck from different peers one after another.
    What media format (audio and video) J2ME MMAPI supports? For example my nokia N80 supports mp4 and 3gp formats does the MMAPI supports those also?.
    it seems that streaming with RTP/RTSP has been quite tricky if i believed other thread, would it be possible to just send byte to a mobile device and play each chunck separately?
    Can i split any kind of media in byte chunck? Or is there some kind of formatting issues?
    Any other advises which could help me would be welcome. I will post my streaming code when i get it to work.
    thanks a lot
    sebastien

    Hello,
    is there anybody who could give me some hints in my task?
    Is media streaming not possible to a midlet then? If i believe other threads it seems so.
    regards
    sebastien
