560 Ti HaWK - Horrendous temps with one of my hawks

Hello, I am getting absolute horrendous temps on one of my 560 Ti HAWK twinfrozr III cards vs the other. Mainly I am playing planetside 2 BETA and the card reaches 95c+ in this game (however temps outside planetside 2 in say, unigine heaven or BF3 stay ~82 or below). I have sought help on PS2 forum about this issue with no response from the developers. And since NVIDIA has no forum currently, I am here.
First of all, SPECS. I will try and provide as much info as possible right off the bat.
Windows7 64
Intel 2600K Sandybridge @ 4.6Ghz
8GB G.Skill 99924 DDR3 1600
P8P67 Deluxe
Corsair HW850W PSU
2x MSI GTX 560 Ti HAWK card
Samsung SSD
Note, my temps DO NOT REACH 82c + in ANY OTHER 3D applications or benchmark that I own except Furmark. Even furmark does not get the card to 95c+.
I have made sure there is no excess dust in either card (they stay rather dust free anyway).
Both card's heatsinks appear to have great contact with GPU and memory heat pads are in place.
The switches on the cards are BOTH set to the far left aka performance mode.
Hawk 1 having no problems: 68-70c after being in game for several hours. Memory readout is around 55-58c.
Hawk 2 problem child: 85-100c after being in game a few minutes. S/N: 602 v260 010B1110149859
This is an image of my gpu-z readout after being in game for <5 minutes on the problem child. Memory temp readouts reach upward of 103c in Afterburner.
Also I'd like to mention that if I flash both cards to the most "most recent" hawk vbios, SLI no longer works. I did this in february but reverted to original ROM and since have not messed with the vBIOS.
If there's anything else you need such as BIOS file let me know. Thanks

Ok, leave the card with S/N: 602 v260 010B1110149859 only installed in the computer.
Take out removed your other card temporary.
Then get attached file and:
* Enter in Windows and make sure that video card vBIOS switch is set to "Performance".
* Extract all files to one folder, then click on "flash.cmd" and confirm with "Y" when asked.
* Wait procedure to finish and DOS window to self close then reboot your computer.
Retest.
Done.
This test is done in an area with 0 action happening and 0 other player models to draw. Why is it generating so much heat?
Both fans are spinning.

  • Fixing temps issues GTX 560 TI HAWK

    1) make a good air flow for the VGA, putting air from the ground, ejecting up the hot air, put a fan in the middle of the card( case )
    2) download AFTERBURNER 2.1.0, NOT THE BETA
    and set this values
    1025 CORE TEMP
    880 clock speed
    2100 ram speed
check with AIDA 64 the GPU AMBIENT ( RAM TEMP OF THE CARD ) and check the voltages.
please, if somebody have this problem with the GTX 560 TI HAWK, try do this, in my computer i found a bug with the voltages in the beta afterburner
5 weeks ago i buy this card, and my problem with this card is the temp, so changin this values, i found a stable configuration to my card, now iam having a max temp of 68º with 20 city ambient temp, and 71º ( average 69) with 30º of city ambient.
please, only use afterburner 2.1.0, if u use the beta, check the voltage value in the AIDA64 if is the same of default clock, the beta is working bad
    good luck
PD: for more info, see my threads and posts, all my history with this card is there, and gonna help more of one.

oh, and another tip to fix the IDLE temps
if u have a two monitors the VGA gonna work with high clock, and without power saving mode, if u use one monitor, u gonna see a temps of 28/32º
if u wanna a fast fix to the air flow case to check the temps, u can use a big fan

  • MSI GTX 560 TI Hawk Unstable?

I have a brand new custom built PC with two MSI 560 TI Hawk cards in SLI and I have a problem with playing games on this system. I've tried Portal 2, Far Cry 2, Two Worlds 2 and The Witcher 2. All games seem unstable with comparable problems:
Random lock-ups for 10-20 seconds with audio looping
Random small jitters, frame drops and stutters, including audio stutters
Sometimes my whole system freezes so I have to push the reset button
    Artifacts
Flickering parts of the horizon, sky or ground in the game
Sometimes the game runs fine for a few minutes and then the problems start happening, sometimes they are there from the beginning.
I tried to eliminate possible causes one by one to narrow out the actual problem. Even disabling SLI and running on a single card doesn't help.
Here are the things I tried:
Monitor GPU temperatures with GPU-Z: didn't show anything unusual, around 35 degrees idle to 65-70 degrees stressed
Disable SLI: didn't fix the problem
Download MSI drivers v266.44 (older version than current NVidia drivers): didn't fix it and I couldn't find the SLI option in these drivers so i switched back to v280.26
Check driver and firmware version with MSI Live Update 5: everything seemed to be up to date
Remove graphics cards: cleaning the connections and re-installing, didn't fix it
Stress the cards with FurMark: no issues detected and temperatures seemed normal (70 degrees stressed)
Lower the stock clock speed (950 Mhz) to the standard non-overclocked speed (822 Mhz): this seemed to help at first and the problems didn't occur for a while. But while i'm testing right now Portal 2 froze and stuttered a few times again. Although it seems like it happens less often. So this might be a clue to my problem. Anyway I didn't pay extra money for these overclocked cards to underclock them back to standard so I would like to make the cards run on stock settings (950 Mhz).
    Here are my system specifications:
Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4 Ghz (stock speed)
    Mainboard: Asus P8Z68 V-Pro
    Memory: 2x Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 CL9 12800 Mhz
    SSD: Crucial M4 256GB SSD
HDD: 2x WD Caviar Blue - Raid 0
Graphics: NVidia Geforce GTX 560 TI Hawk 1GB SLI
    PSU: Corsair TX750 V2 (750 watt)
I hope you can help me to fix this issue because I'm out of ideas right now....
    Thanks in advance

Well I've tried some more things but it's all still very weird and not helping at all   I will explain my findings in the order i tested the cards this time, after every card-switch i did a clean re-install of the VGA drivers:
    Card-2
I've ran the OCCT test for one hour on card-2, i got zero errors and temperature never went above 76 degrees with a fan speed around 68%. After this i tried testing some games again and I found out there were still problems regardless of me saying that card-2 did fine before. In Portal 2 I was leaving the game on for a while and after a few minutes it froze with audio looping. I found out that when I use ctrl+alt+del to go to the task manager and then go back to the game it recovered and I could continue playing (weird??!). The same thing happened with The Witcher 2, freezing with audio loop and going to task manager and back let me continue playing. This happened every few minutes.
    Card-1
Now it was time to try card-1 again. This time this card didn't seem to have the frequency problems I mentioned before but the problems didn't go away. Portal 2 let the game freeze within a minute, and I could use the same strategy (task manager) to continue, but this time after a few seconds it would freeze again and again. The same happened with The Witcher 2. Then I tried Far Cry 2 and this game had the same flickering problems as with card-2 but a lot worse... it was almost everywhere. Even sometimes the flickering had a checkerboard kind of shape. Now I ran the OCCT test with this card and there were no problems. Another strange thing was that when I was looking at the graph after the test, the temperature was much lower (65 degrees) and the graph line of the framerate was very straight (stable) along the test. This was different than with card 2 where the framerate and temp were higher and not so stable.
After all it appears i have comparable problems with both cards, only with card-1 they are much worse.

  • RMA question gtx 560 ti HAWK

if the card, can work with the default clocks ( high temps ) i should rma the card? for example at 1025 core voltage i have to use the clock at 880 and not the default 950, if i put in 1062 with 880 core clock or 950 core clock, i have high temps in memory temp ( 100+) and gpu temp (80+ in 3 minutes )
and fan coolers at 80+ in SILENT mode

switch to Peformance BIOS, also open PC case side door and retest
i tested that without side door even out of case and no major difference in temperatures!and also performance bios didnt help here is my furmark test with open side cover (80 in 6 mins ~5000 RPM):
i tested mafia 2 and almost same old results
as i said before reseller warranty company tested (out of case) and reached 80!with 100% fan~4400 RPM!obvious high temp and noisy for HAWK right?i really dont think its about air flow or ambient temp!
so could you please admit that this high temp and noisy Fan(+ that weird memory temp) is a problem and i can replace my VGA with new one with normal temperatures like this :
    http://www.guru3d.com/article/msi-geforce-gtx-560-ti-hawk-review/8
then according to you i send back the VGA for replacement and if you say 80-90 is normal for a gtx 560 Ti HAWK and wont be any problem so my bad !
    thank you Svet

  • 560 ti Hawk experiences.

Hey everyone this is my first post
Just want to let everyone know that my Hawk is running fine (relax Svet). It OCs to 1050MHz on the core and 4300MHz on the memory and gets me a graphics score of 5599 in 3dmark11 (5817 total). Any more and the temps get into th 90s.
It DOES NOT get down to the temps stated in most reviews (65C etc.) running at factory clocks except with really cool ambient temps.
It DOES appear to have a faulty memory temp sensor which exaggerates the temps and won't let them drop again and it can get loud when running overclocks like the one stated above (fans hit around 89% for that one).
However, for normal use I have found it is an excellent midrange card. It runs BF3, Crysis 2 (DX11 and high res pack) and the other crysis games at 60fps+ at 1080p res on the second highest setting those games can run and if you can live with 30fps you can crank it right up (without too much AA and stuff). At factory clocks and a decent fan profile the temps don't get above about 78C in these games.
Wow this has sort of turned into a review but yeah just wanted to share my experience so far with this card. Overall it's good enough that I'm considering a second one for SLI.
Anyone else feel free to add your experiences whether negative or positive.
Also, people with a 560 ti Hawk SLI setup I'd be very interested to hear from you!
    Thanks

    Mobo: Asrock Extreme4 Gen3
    CPU: Core i5 2500k
    RAM: 2x4GB G.skill Ripjaws
    HDD: 500GB Western Digital
Extra cooling: 3x CM Excalibur fans via Sentry 2 fan controller.
PSU: Corsair HX620 (yeah I'll be getting a HX850 for SLI)

After resolving the noise issue which the Coolermaster Extreme Power psu turned out to be the main culprit (it had a roar or a whine on load) (replaced it with a Modular Power psu) and i've also now installed the Artic Accelero Xtreme II (long freakin name) the noise from my pc is very very nice - i get a gentle whoosh rather than the loud dyson/vacuum power noise effect.
Coming back to the TI Hawk - as mentioned once i've sorted out the noise issues and the Artic cooler makes it run so quiet and even cooler i'm quite happy with the Ti Hawk.....i think nothing comes close to the value (i'm able to play BF3 multiplayer in the 60-80 FPS range - it's a smooth play - mostly High settings with 1-2 Ultra settings at 1920 resolution).
if you can sort the noise and heat issue than the Ti Hawk is a good card ......otherwise it can be a very hot and noisy card.  I don't know how warmer climate users can use it.........the stock cooler definitely doesn't run as cool as advertised. And i've re-TIM with the stock cooler and it didn't change a thing. ONly when i installed the Artic cooler did i see any significant improvement.  The Artic has dropped my Ti Hawk temps by 20 celsius - ex. it's a warm 30 celsius here today in melbourne and my GPU temps are 55 celsius....while my vram are occasionally 90 - 100 celsius.
I would imagine most Ti Hawk users will need the Artic if they are to be fully satisfied.

I'm the originator of this thread and I appear to have an answer.
I tried an "Archive and Install" of Tiger, on top of my existing 10.4.3 install that was giving me the trouble I described above. I had the time today and figured "what the heck[ll]".
I then installed each additional piece (10.4.3 combo update, airport updates, quicktime updates, java updates, etc), stopping after each one to check CPU temperatures and CPU use in Activity Monitor.
I'm now back to a full 10.4.3 install, with all current recommended Apple software and I don't have the heat/CPU use problems I previously had. There is no significant use of the CPU by the launchd process.
I also re-enabled Spotlight indexing and that doesn't cause a problem either.
Also, my entire system is *MUCH* quicker and responsive. I wish I knew what piece in my previous system install was causing the problem, but hopefully my experience can help someone else. When in doubt, do an "Achive and Install" rather than an update to the previous system installation.
By the way, with heavy Spotlight indexing going on and mild web browsing, my CPU temp is just 112 to 115 degrees F. Previously, with no Spotlight indexing and with NO apps running, my CPU temp was maxed at 135 degrees with fans on full. And if you're reading this thread, you know what max fans sound like on a 12" PB.

  • PSU for MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti HAWK in SLI ?

Do you know what psu should i get for 2 MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti HAWK?

Depends what other components your system consists of. >>Posting Guide<<
But here is the link to the recommended PSU for such a combo. https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-for-graphics-cards
A 42A PSU is suggested. Thus a Corsair TX650 will suffice but to leave you with additional overhead you could opt for a Corsair TX750. The Corsair PSUs have single 12V rails which are recommended and have an above average reliability and build quality.

  • GTX 560 TI HAWK bad vrm memory sensor?

Hi, i have a problem with the memory temps of this card, if i stress the GPU and Memory at the same time in 100% load, the GPU temp increased to 71 degrees and the VRM and memory to 61 degrees, after some seconds go to 77 degrees and one second later to 99+
when i close the application the gpu temp down gradually from 71 to 40 degrees and the VRM temp stay in 80/90 if in one second i enter in hibernate mode, and start againt the PC ( all in 30 seconds maybe ) the VRM temp down to 40 degrees like the GPU
what i think is a memory sensor issue
if i set the fans in USER mode, it up the RPM very high, if i dont set the fans in USER mode, the fans are very quiet
    all with the after burner
iam thinking is a memory SENSOR issue, and not a physical memory issue
i changed the tim, and removed the heatsink of memory, and put all again, and the problem continue.
if is a memory sensor issue i can live with this
but if is a physical memory issue and not a sensor issue, i have to RMA the card?
I go to make a video for more details.
i type " very noise " i want say is very QUIET the fans, disabling the USER MODE FAN Profile

    try do this
    AFTERBURNER 2.1.0 in BETA 9 doesn't work
    voltage 962
    unset the fan profile mode
it works for me.. 68 max temp with a 40% fan speed, obviusly sensor of gpu ambient ( vram or memory i dont remember ) is in 99+, at now after 40 minutes of idle is in 71, i guess it be 31..
i dont know what can happend with my card with this voltage, maybe i kill she, in some days, i dont know..
but this is the only way to get a normal state to play some games..

  • CPU temp with Zalman9700 and MSI P965 Platinum ?

    Hi.
its funny. My old Asrock DUAL-VSTA showed CPU temp and other temps in programs like HMonitor and Speedfan but this
MSI dosent show anything about CPU in any programs ?
I must say, i was a little confused when i installed the board because there was 2 CPU fan slots, one with 4 pins and one with
    3. I have a Zalman CNPS 9700 LED, very nice fan btw. Shoulden this fan be controled by the CPU automaticly ? i do have a
fan regulator in the end of the wire outside the cabinet. I have it on the bag side of the computer case so i can turn it op and
down. But i think i read someware that it could be controled automaticly. Is that right ?
And what about the 3 and 4 pins CPU fan slots on the board. Right now i cant remember in witch of the 3 or 4 slot i installed
the fan in to. But anybody know witch slot is the right one for my CPU fan ?

    Listen. Forgot to say.
I'm still a little little bit concerned about 40c-41c idle. but but.
    Relax, it's quite alright...
    Quote
But what i was trying to say is. I have 3 running SATA drives also and only the stock (Normal) 120 fan that came with the Antec case.
1 fan, the Zalman 9700LED and the PSU fan ofcause. and then OC at 300FSB. Could that be why i'm at 40c idle ?
All the drives + only 1 fan in the case ? i mean. I'm not shure the standard 120 fan that came with the Antec case is good enough.
    Any sugestions ?
My case has three 120mm case fan in addition to the 120mm power supply and the Zalman fan, five of them altogether. The Antec P180 case has separate compartment for the hard drives and the power supply, which made a big difference from the temperature's perspective. The box also has four hard drives and I do not OC; I did try, but I didn't see much of a difference and shut it off.

btw. what is a good stress test apps to test my cpu temp with on max load ?
The Orthos Stress Prime is pretty good and so is Intel's TAT; the link I've posted earlier has more information.

  • How do I create multiple TEBs with one submit button on one page in Captivate 7

I've read other posts on this topic (which refer primarily to earlier versions of Captivate) and am still at a loss as to how to put multiple text entry boxes on a page with one submit button. Here's my scenario:
    I am creating test questions.
Each test question has multiple text entry boxes (for numbers only).
Student should be able to enter numbers into the textboxes in any order.
Then there is one Submit button that should initiate validating all the text entries, and move to a scoring page (so I can test it). (What would be best is if this button not only did the above, but also submitted scores to the LMS.  But that is not my question at this time.)
I'd like this question to be set up as a template so that I can duplicate it, be able to add or delete text boxes and change the values required in the text boxes.
Here is an image of a sample question page with multiple TEBs. The yellow boxes tell the student where they need to enter text:
Any help or direction to help is appreciated!!

I think the problem here is that Arlhoolie wants all of the different TEBs to behave as if they were part of a single interaction that submits only ONE result to the quiz.  Using multiple TEBs in Captivate means that you have multiple scored objects and therefore multiple results being submitted to the quiz.
If you want a single Success or Failure result submitted to the quiz based on the results from multiple interactive objects then there really is no simple way to do it.  But you could try using the Infosemantics Interactive Master widget to combine all the TEBs as slave objects that report to the Master Widget, which then reports a single score to the quiz based on the results from the slave objects.
You can learn more about the Master widget here:
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-widgets/interactive-master
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/interactivemaster/help
You can download a free trial version of the widget here:
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-widgets/download-free-trial-widgets
One caveat you should be aware of is that this widget is not HTML5 compatible.

  • How can I create a new Care Plan with one or more care tasks

    Hello,
I'm working on a Dutch website in the HealthVault Environment. I got difficulties in creating and updating a careplan with care tasks. Most likely it's due to lack of knowledge...
    Following code works fine:
    CarePlan plan = new CarePlan();
    plan.Name = "test";
    this.PersonInfo.SelectedRecord.NewItem(plan);
It creates a plan called [test]. But I don't know how to create a plan with one or more tasks in it: the tasks property is read only.
