5610 All-in-one Does not connect to my Dell Laptop so I cannot Print or Scan.

My USB Cable is connected to my printer and laptop. The printer does not want to print even a document from word. When i look at my installed printers it says the document is printing but nothing prints. I also cannot scan. The message I get is that there is no connection between my laptop and my printer. I have no idea what port to use also when adding this printer again. It was working fine before, then somehow I uninstalled the program but re-installed it today. I ckecked that both plugs goes in correctly at the printer and the laptop. It can still make copies. When I want to service the printer it says No Hp Product detected. Please help :-(

I can help you with not being able to print or scan on your Vista computer.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. Try another USB port on the computer. You might have to try another USB cable to see if that is causing this issue.
I have provided a document to check to see why the USB isn't being detected on the computer to try.

Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

    Welcome to the forums
    I read your message about your Officejet 4100 not showing that it's connected, and that you have attempted to run the Windows Update to see if that would help get the printer working again. You are correct that this model does not have a downloadable driver for Windows Vista, so your best bet would be to try running the Print and Scan Doctor tool, to see if it can kick the printer into gear and have it functioning again.
    If the tool does not work, I would then recommend looking in to a printer upgrade. Consider giving us a call to see what your options are with HP.

    Is the printer connected to your PC by USB or network?
    By using USB connection, you may scan using the Windows Fax and Scan software integrated into your OS.
    Scanning through a network connection unfortunately supported on Windows7 32 bit only, as you  may find listed within the About network scanning section below:

  • 6500 all in one wireless not connecting to computers on network.

    My 6500 all in one never has connection to all of my computers that are on-line at the same time.  Right now, even the main computer that is hardwired to my wireless router has no connection.  Only one connected is one of the wireless computer connections. I have Windows XP

    Generally, setting a static IP can help tremendously with stablizing network connections.  Sometimes, a router will change the printer's IP address too frequently creating an unstable connection.  Even if the router does not change it frequently, setting a static IP still helps.
    I have attached a video that should help a lot more than me providing the steps.  The video uses Windows XP with an OfficeJet 8500A, but the printer steps in the EWS (embedded web server) should be the same.
    This will require a PC that is able to communicate with the printer, which it sounds like you do have at least one that can.  Perform the steps in the video on that computer.
    To print a network configuration page, like they show in the video, go to Setup> Network Setup>Print network Configuration page.

  • Newly bought HP 7520 e-all-in-one does not scan in color on mu Mac OS 10.9

    Help need, totally frustrated.
    Just installed a brand new HP 7520 e-all-in-one  on my new MAC OS 10.9. The product prints and copies in color. However all scans come out black&white???  Who can help me, desperate in time constraints. I have the printer USB connected.

    Hi,
    The default scan workflow configured to scan documents as Black and White. Make sure to change the scan settings to scan documents with color:
    1. Open the HP Utility and select your device.
    2. From Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
    3. Click the Scan Tasks tab.
    4. Select the affected shortcut and click on Edit... (or just double-click the shortcut).
    5. In the section of Scan from an HP Device click on the blue triangle or the Show Details button to enlarge the menu.
    6. From the enlarged menu now open the drop-down menu next to Mode
    7. Now select the Color option and then click on OK to save the changes. The next scanned document using this workflow will appear in color.

    The dial shows the word FAX instead of PRINT.  How can I remove the word FAX? because I think this is the prolem

  • 7410 All In One will not connect

    I have a 7410 All In One.  It's about 3 years old.  Within the last 6 months it has been manifesting an ongoing problem.  When not in use for a period of time, it will simply stop functioning.  Upon disconnecting-reconnecting the power cord, the center screen will illuminate and a white bar across the bottom will appear suggesting it is connecting, but the "On" light will not come on.   According the hp site the drivers are up to date.  
    Another oddity is that when it is in this condition, it will suddenly come back to life.  This has happened a couple of times after anywhere from 6 to 12 hours.  Unfortunately, it is in this mode now and there are documents that have to be printed.
    It has never scanned properly, either, so the All In One functionality is pretty much nil.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

  • Fax function on all-in one does not appear under Mavericks

    I just purchased a new all-in-one printer. I installed it on my network successfully. When adding it to my devices the Printer and Scanner functions appear to function perfectly, but the FAX function (which appears on a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard) does NOT appear as an option on a Mac Mini running Mavericks.
    The Printer is an HP Laserjet Pro MFP M127fn. It is listed as being Mavericks compatible. I have tried deleting it and reinstalling it to no avail. The Printer and Scanner functions apper to work fine (I have not had time to fully test them) but when attempting to add the Fax driver as a Printer the FAX tab is greyed out and will not appear. Again I had no problem installing this on a Snow Leopard machine.

    Setup printer using mobile device  Installed print driver using provided CD. Updated driver software. Printer is networked by wireless to computer & smartphone.Was able to print photo from smartphone, was able to print Word document from computer.     I understand that you're experiencing issues when printing from Windows Live Photo Gallery on your Windows 8 computer to your HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer, as your prints continue to default to the letter size Paper Tray. I would like to assist you today with resolving this printing issue. Can I please have you follow the steps below to properly configure your print settings under the Print dialogue window in Windows Live Photo Gallery.  1. Load your Photo Paper in the Photo Tray on your printer  2. Open an image you would like to print under Windows Live Photo Gallery 3. Click on File and select Print   4. Under the Print dialogue window please ensure that your printer, Paper Size, Quality, and Paper Type are all set properly for your specific print job    5. Next, click on the Options button on the bottom right hand corner. Under the Print Settings dialogue box click Printer Properties.    6. Next, change the Paper Source to Photo Tray. If it currently is set to 'Main Tray' please click the Main Tray option and it will drop down to allow you to select Photo Tray. Click OK once the Tray change has been made.    NOTE: If the Paper Size shows an exclamation mark, it means that your Photo Tray does not support the Paper Size selected. Click the dropdown next to Paper Size and choose a size that does not show an exclamation mark.     7. Under the main Print dialogue window click Print on the bottom right   Your document should print as per normal now from the proper Paper Tray.   Please let me know if the steps provided resolve your Paper Tray photo printing issue.   • HP Envy 5530 e-all-in-one Does Not Work With Mac

    Just bought an HP Envy 5530 all-in-one. It does not print through Safari and possibly other Mac applications. Does not frame the page properly even with "print page" and prints slower  than 1 page per minute, even with no background images. My old HP had no problem with Safari. Phone support tells me there is no driver or fix. So I will return the device. Seems crazy. I now see othr commenters saying it doesn't work with Mac. If HP's no longer works with major Mac applications, they will be returned in droves. Anyone know why or know of a fix?

  • My iPhone 4 will not turn on at all, and it does not connect to iTunes either. What do I do?

    My iPhone was working, then I sat down to lunch with it in my pocket. When I was done I took it out and it wouldn't turn on! My home button usually doesn't work but the sleep button does, and my phone was not responding to it. The screen is black as if it is shut off or in sleep mode. I tried holding down the sleep button to try to get it to restart but it didn't do anything either. I tried holding the home button and the sleep button to hard reset it, but this didn't do anything, I don't know whether it was because my home button wasn't working at the time or because the phone just wasn't responding. I tried connecting my phone to a wall charger hoping that it would light up, but nothing happened. I tried connecting my phone to my Mac but the phone didn't respond, and iTunes didn't recognize that any new devices had been connected. What can I do??

    If it won't turn on, then how can you be getting an error while trying to restore it?

    i have a samsung 3d dvd player that has a ipod docking station but my ipod wont connect - i have an older version of the ipod (one of the first ones to come out); could this be the reason

    I have had this happen with numerous stereos and docking stations. What I've learned to do is bring my iPod into the store with me before I purchase any new electronics. I have no idea why this happens (or rather, doesn't happen), but it does. I think Apple is trying to get us to buy new iPods. :-)

    New printer,it will print on a4 paper,but will not pick up small6x4,I have taken all other paper out,and tried shutting off and restarting it,I even cleaned the rollers as suggested,still no result,I have only had this three weeks,it did print one picture off when I first tried it,but not now,would be very happy if someone could resolve this for me.
