5610 Micro SD Capacity

Hi there,
I recently purchased a Nokia 5610 Xpress Music edition that came with a 2GB micro SD card. I'm looking at expanding this, however, according to the product page (http://www.nokia.com.au/find-products/all-phones/nokia-5610-xpressmusic/specifications) states: "expandable SD card of up to 2GB". Can anyone clarify if I can use greater capacity memory cards with this phone or am I stuck with buying a multitude of 2GB cards?
Thanks!
Eliminatrix

Indeed. http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/5610_XpressMusic says 4GB, which means that there's an SDHC card reader in there, and that in turn means that it should even work with 8 and 16GB cards barring O/S issues. The hardware is there.

  • Zen Micro Song Capacity?????

I have a white 5gb zen micro purchased december 2004.
Currently I have 909 songs that are taking up 3.88gb. I have 28mb designated for my removable disk. So that only leaves me 77mb of free space. This is not right.
All my songs are in mp3 format and i am nowhere close to the advertised 2500 song capacity.
Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix it. Should I change all my files to WMA's (I thought they were bigger file sizes though)
    Not sure what to do.
    Mohall

Whoa whoa whoa. We're all just trying to help here.
Nothing out of the ordinary is going on. You have an approriate amount of disk space left for the number of tracks you have on your player. It's all relati've because the length of the tracks also affects the number of tracks you can fit on the player. If you listen to house music, techno, or concertos your average number of tracks on the player will go down because the songs, on average, will be longer.
If you listen to nothing but punk then every song is 2 minutes long and you'll easily fit many more than the quoted number of tracks on the player.
You aren't missing any space on the dri've from what I can tell by your posts. The things quoted here are standardized but no music collection is standardized. There is a huge array of lengths, bitrates, and file types in most people's collections so a perfectly uniform standard that applies to everyone is hard to achieve.

  • Micro storage capacity quest

Is there a minimum amount of free space i should leave available on my Zen Micro? I currently have about 650 megs free (those 5 gigs go quick!) This equates to 983 songs @ 28kb
    ps.
Alot of the songs I have are pretty long, but I don't see how anyone can get anywhere close to 2500 songs. I also haven't linked up to outlook (probably won't). Any info is appreciated.

I've filled mine to the brim with music and audio books I have something like 20 megabytes left and the player is working fine. It might make sense to leave a nice chunk ( ~200 megs) for any recordings (either via mic or FM) if you intend on making them.
Also that 2500 songs Creative quotes as the capacity of the player is actually based on 64 kbps WMA format. This sounds "as good as" mp3 @ 28kbps ( really up to debate) It's a litte deceiving but I think they were trying to empahasize the fact that they have an advantage over Apple by supporting WMA.

  • Zen micro hi-capacity batter

Now that Apple introduced its second generation ipod minis the reviewers got 8-26h playtime, i think these same kind of gains could be had if creative or some other company would sell for example 000mah batteries for this device, and this would be very easy for users because these batteries are easily replaceable.
So basically what do you think of this possibility?

It's a great idea. I posted something like this earlier in the "users wanting list" thread, here's a paste:
"2. An optional bigger battery! Maybe one with the micro's back cover plate built on it so you could increase it's size slightly and thus pump it up to 2000 mAh instead of the 680 mAh of regular batteries (so we would get like 30 hours of play). Even if you doubled the thickness of the current battery and added a custom back to it it wouldn't be much bigger and we would get alot more battery life!"

  • BlackBerry 8320 max Micro SD capacity.

    Hi everyone!
I'm looking to upgrade the 1GB Micro SD card in my BlackBerry Curve 8320 to allow more music tracks to be stored. I want to know what's the largest size card that will work in his model? I understand that this is dependant on the operating system version. So I downloaded the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager (version 5.0.1), and this offered to upgrade the OS in my phone. The version on the phone is now v4.5.0.174 (Platform 2.7.0.105). Presumably the 8320 cannot be upgraded to version 5. I've also seen this link:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB05461
If I'm reading the information on that link correctly, I can now using a 16GB Micro SD card. Please can someone confirm this before I buy a 16GB card?
    Many thanks,
    Alicia.

  • Brand new Zen, less than 1 hour use..crashed and will not b

Purchased on 5th of June 2006, less than hr use and not working!!
    SPECS
TYPE - TYPE : Zen Micro Photo
    Capacity - 8GB
    DATE - DATE June 5th 2006
    PRICE - $99
COUNTRY - US (whilst on holiday, I bought 2, one for a US friend and one for me)
    ACCESSORIES -None
    SOUND QUALITY - decent!
USER INTERFACE - UI is ok
SOME COMMENTS - IT has now crashed with less than hours use, it will not boot up, will not charge via USB,it's brand new.. so no. I hate this player. A player should never have this type of problems with less than hours use!!!
SUGGESTIONS - MAKE A PLAYER THAT WORKS
BATTERY LIFE - THe first time I used it, I had just had my friend transfer her music files onto it after doing the same to her player. I just wanted to make sure that it worked properly this was on the 8th of June
on the 9th I got on a flight and headed to the UK, I did not use the player at all, but I noticed that the battery life had slightly reduced even though the player was off.
On Saturday the 0th I went for a walk to and used the player for no more than 30mins.
Everything seemed fine, I adjusted a few settings like the sensitivity of the touch pad and put the player on shuffle. I got home, shut the player down and fell asleep.
Sunday (today) June th. the player refused to boot when switched on, it just hung on the floating creative Zen micro screen. I shut it down and it took ages for it to shut down even though it didn't fully boot up.
I called my friend in the US and asked her if shher battery was failing she said no, I installed the softtware on my machine, slid the back of my zen, removed the battery and replacd it immediately.
After installing the software, I connected the ZEn to the machine via USB, nothing happened.
It won't charge, the Zen windows explorer doesn't hink anything is connected to the machine.
I am severely disappointed. I spent $400+ buying 2 players with creative, I do not expect a new product to fail so miserably on its first outing.
Where the heck do I go from here...
creative owes me an apology and a decent brand new replacement.
A very very dissappointed buyer indeed!
    In summary,
THe player will not boot up
    It will not charge
I cannot get it into recovery mode
    The screen remains blank
It did not come with a mains charger, just a USB cable to charge via the computer
How can such a shoddy product be released?
I bought this product int he US with my credit card..
I would have to go back to the US in order to get a refund and I would have to do this before 4days are up. which means the deadline for a refund is 9th of June 2006
Would creative be willing to incur my costs and time to fly back to NY in order to return this nightmare of a product!!
This is soo shoddy it is unbelievable.
Creative please rescue your reputation and sort this out.

Unfortunately scratches aren't considered a defect.
If the click wheel stopped working or the screen went bad, then that's covered under warranty. But scratches, unfortunately aren't. I would do a search. There have been a few people with success with scratch removers.
The iPod comes partially charged. There's also that fast chargering, and a full charge.
check out the iPod support site for tips on maximizing battery life.

  • Zen Micro....when transfer duplicate found, memory capacity l

I tried to copy a large folder into my Zen Micro with Creative Mediasource. Turns out it was already in my Micro. So I said skip for all. It skipped....but the storage space in the Micro was still allocated for it! I lost about 500mb capacity in my Micro! How do I reclaim it!

I don't know what your using... but the easiest way I've found to get rid of a file that I don't want on my micro is to delete it using windows explorer... You simply go to my computer... and the micro comes up as a device... you open the media/music folder and then delete the folder... I hope this works for you.

  • Micro zen removable disk upgraded capacity, why only 4

Just upgraded my firmware, glad to see that it now has the option to increase my removable disk capacity to a max of 4GB.But where is the 2.5GB and 3GB option? Why jump straight to 4GB?
Wouldn't it be more logical to have that as most of the time, the mp3s in the player would be GB++, having just 2GB and 4GB options leaves us with little option to store music or recordings..Hope the next firmware upgrade would have this added feature

    ...... I don't understand.
You want 2 or 3 gig, then you complain about 4 gig not being enough?
Can you plz explain what the heck you are talking about...

  • Downloads to micro sd cards

Is it possible to download my playlists from I tunes or my I pod to a micro sd card and if so how do I do it?

I will be checking about the File Allocation Tale versions/types that will be supported with this unit.
What's the exact issue that you're experiencing? What's the brand and capacity of the micro SD card & card reader that you're using? It maybe an issue caused by the software compression of the USB stick that the unit cannot read or it needs a password.

  • Availability of Zen Micro 4 GB en 6 GB editions in Holla

    Hey everyone
I'm interested in buying one of those Zen Micro mp3 players, but in Holland there's still only the 5 GB edition available. I know that in the US they are about to launch a 4 GB and 6 GB edition too. Does anyone know if these types are also coming to holland, en if they are, then when?
I would really appreciate getting a useful answer,
    Thanx already
    Bart

Well, in some way, you're right. I've heard of stargate and it's true that in Holland they are always a couple of seasons late in comparison to the US.
It's actually too bad. I really adore all the great functions of the Zen Micro, but the capacity is a bit low, with it's 5 GB. Well, I'm thinking of buying a mp3 player around this june/july, so maybe if the 6 GB edition is released in Holland in the meantime, I'd be really pleased.
    Thanx for your help anyways

  • I'm using a micro sd card inside USB adapter but it won't mount on my Macbook Air 2012

    Hi everyone,
Really puzzled at the moment because I just purchased a Kingston 64GB Class 10 Micro SD card and it came with a USB adapter to plug into my mac. The problem is that it won't mount, I just get a pop up saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." I open up Disk Utilty and I get the following info:
    Mount Point : Not mounted
    Partition Type : Windows_FAT_32
    Capacity : 67.11 GB (67,107,815,424 Bytes)
Everything else is blank. Does anyone know what Windows_FAT_32 is and how I can get my Micro SD card to work on my Mac? Also note that when I plug it into a Windows PC, it loads up fine and my Macbook Air is also running OSX Yosemite Dev Preview 6. Thanks and any help is greatly appreciated

Yes, you will not be signed in to update iCloud content, until you update your Apple ID on both devices.  On the iPhone you will need to go into your settings>iCloud then tap your iCloud ID to sign out then sign in with your new Apple ID, on the Macbook you need to go into your system preferences then tap iClould sign out then sign in with your new Apple ID.

  • Anyone had a problem with Micro/Smart sims not fitting in the Iphone 4s Tray?

Just got the Iphone 4s did the whole process of cutting up an original sim to fit, finally went to the phone shop to get a Micro sim just incase the cut sim was doing damage or not fitting correctly only to find that the Micro sims wont fit into my 4s. Compared my tray with my sisters 4S tray and it is smaller??
Very confused so rang Apple who told me I would have to try and make it to one of their shops during a weekday as those are the only free appointments currently, They stated they could not send me a replacement tray without charging me, unless I make the very large effort of going to my nearest apple store when it suited them.
Not very impressed with this as I heard Apple were **** hot at customer service, this is all after spending 50 mins talking to them
Has anyone else experienced this sim fitting problem ?

    Hi pamellag,
Here is some information on iPhone batteries that may help you:
    Apple - Batteries - iPhone
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
One of the side notes states:
    Charge Cycles
A properly maintained iPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 400 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.
The 'replace' link above leads to some options if you need to get the battery replaced:

  • New Curve not recognizing an 8gig micro SDHC card

Hi - I am totally new to the BB and to this forum. Here's my dilemma - I just bought and "installed" an 8gig micro SDHC card last night. The phone does not recorgnize it. First when I went to take video, it told me to install a formatted card. When I try to format, I get the message "Media Card Format Failed". I have tried many times, checked on how it looks in it's spot behind the battery, etc. Everything else seems OK. Any help??
    Thanks much.

What I can deduce from my experience is that one should not buy a SDHC card if you've got a curve 9300 or 9330 phone. Even if the SP tell you the model is compatible with the technology, blackberry specs only mention that SD cards are accepted
    http://worldwide.blackberry.com/blackberrycurve/3G/curve_specifications.jsp
    Hello,
Sorry...but wrong. The only difference between SD and SDHC is the capacity of the card. SD goes up to 2GB (officially...some have labeled themselves SD but go to 4GB). SDHC goes from 4GB to 32GB. HC simply stands for "High Capacity." More information is available in the Wiki:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital
So, while the BB specs may only say "SD", they must include SDHC since they further indicate the capacity of Media Cards that various OS levels support:

  • Zen Micro as a portable storage devic

Does anyone know if it is possible to put anything but audio files onto a Creative Zen Micro? and if so could someone tell me/link me to somwhere telling me how?
Things im talking about are, files like word Documents etc... I-pod's are able to hold .txt files and you can view them on the screen, so id rather my i-pod owning friend didnt get one up on me...
    Cheers, in advance

You CAN store files one the device, but this is on another part of the harddisk then your music library. You must choose the capacity of this "Removable Disk"-mode when you first use it. It is found in Menu>Extra>Removable Disk. When you select this, music stops playing and you can only use this function unless you press the back button. If you use Removable disk mode you will be able to use it as a usb-device on every PC.

  • ZEN TOUCH or Zen Micro? Which is bett

I'm interested in buying one or the other but am unsure which to purchase. I like the fact that Zen Micro has repeat, resume and random play as well as a stand and belt clip. I also like the fact that it has fm radio and comes in lots of colors. But I love the fact that Zen Touch has a larger storage capacity and is already compatible with WMP 0 without having to hopefully download additional software. Which has a better sound capacity? I have quite a bit of songs with a heavy bass from club songs as well as
hip hop/r &b tracks. Also does either player play songs longer than 4 minutes? I have a couple of songs that are about 9 minutes long. I'm looking for one that is the most user friendly and will not be something I'll have to replace anytime soon because I've run out of space. Does anyone know if the the Zrn Touch will be coming out in various colors like the micro? Any insight into a good choice is greatly appreciated.

Many things are taken into consideration between the touch and micro. Here are some.
    Touch
    - has more hard dri've space
2- Has a dedicated volume button and has a mix of buttons and touchpad(lot of ppl like that)
3- People seem to have a lot of prob with the touch software and touch does not offer EAX options
4- The LCD light could use a fixing.
    Micro
    - Smaller HD than the touch (5 GB)
2- Comes with a lot of features for its price. (FM, MIC, date and planner, removable disc mode, etc)
3- Better looking and is more compact and smaller, fits almost newhere.
4 - Software is better and is more reliable, plus removable battery.
    5 - 0 colors to choose from.
6 - Comes with a few of accesories ( Belt clip, stand, pouch)
Final - I have tried both the touch and micro for 2 months respecti'vely and the micro is better cause of its many features and creative really stepped up and fixed many problems that people were having with the touch so i suggest u go with the ZEN micro
