5610 radio losing stations

I've had my 5610 since January, and just recently it suddenly lost the ability to tune into any radio stations. (i.e changing the frequency didn't seem to be actually changing the frequency). Anyway, after much stuffing around I did a full factory reset which was most painful, even after doing a full backup just before. When I restored the data to my phone, all the pictures and ringtones associated with the particular callers had been un-linked, so I had to manually attach all the photos again... but that's a different story.
After I did the factory reset the radio again seemed to work perfectly. Then today (about 2 weeks later) the same thing happened. Where I was expecting my local radio station, was some strange non-english station in its place. I then did a full scan for the radio stations and all it found was the same one about 3 times at 87.5 and all the way at 108.0. So this leads me to believe it has again lost the ability to scan the different radio frequencies.
Has anyone else had this problem? and is there any other way to fix this other than a full factory reset?
Will a nokia service centre be able to repair the handset?

PS: The phone is a 5610d-1 using firmware v04.81

  • Are any iphone 5 fm radio docking stations that let you leave the protective case on phone

Are any I phone 5 fm radio docking stations available that I can leave my protective case on phone while charging

Hey braswell4AU: I have a similar issue. I purchased 2 iPhone 5's the first day they came out. Black 64gb for myself and white 32gb for my wife. She is having somewhat the same issues as you have. Wifi is weak and keeps dropping the signal, and also her phone almost never has LTE. And we are in a very strong Verizon LTE area in north Los Angeles county. My phone has never had any signal issues, wifi or LTE. I have been researching the issue to no avail. I though maybe the white with the brushed alluminum may cause signal issues, but haven't found anything on that and posts about the black one haven't problems blew that theory up.
I have also changed the SIM card and the phone itself and still the same problem. I saw a post about someone getting their phone swapped out and the apple rep told him not to restore the phone, but to just set it up as new. I have yet to try it, gonna try this weekend.. But it makes sense! I, like you have 6 apple devices (2 iPhone 5's, 2 iPhone 4's apple tv3, and the ipad3) and have no issues running all my devices via router.
So I am thinking about the history of the restores and backups and my wife is the only one that went from the 4 to the 5.. Every other device was setup as new. So my theory is that he iphone 5 has issues when you restore from previous backups.. Maybe something a little different from the backups of the previous models create issues in the iPhone 5's?
Like I said, I'm going to give it a shot this weekend and see what happens. If you get a chance to try this before, please let me know if it works and if I try before you I will update you.
Good luck and hopefully we can get these wonderful phones working like they should!

  • Sony clock-radio docking station not compitable after 2.2.1 upgarde

After upgrading both my iPhones to 2.2.1, my Sony clock-radio docking station (icf-c1ipmk2)does not work with the iPhone anymore. The unit is made for iPhone and worked without any issues until the 2.2.1 upgrade.
Now every time I place the iPhone in the docking station, I get the following message on the iPhone:
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone."
With the option to start in Airplane mode.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Is there any solution to this?

Just FYI i have the next generation of Sony clock Radio ICF-CD3i(the round one with the pop out dock) and guess what "This accessorie not campatible with iPhone" though i can quite past the warning message then it works fine. The interesting part is i tried it out on another one at the shop at time of purchase and it worked fine. So long and short going to return it get another one see if that works. Just seems like Sony (Love there products not bagging them)need to put more work into working out the compatibility from their end

  • ITunes radio featured stations don't load.

Hello  Im having a problem with iTunes radio. the featured stations do Not load. All I see is a blank space. is there anyway to fix this?
i Have trodd restating the music app, rebooting the device, singing out etc. please help me. Thank you.

I found something elsewhere while hunting around (http://forums.imore.com/ios-7/262288-itunes-radio-custom-stations-bug.html).  Apparently, if you add too many "similar" artists you add will crap out the custom station.  I deleted down to 13 "similar" artists and it works now.
    Lame, but better than nothing.
    Good luck.

  • ITunes Radio My Stations View Style How can I display my stations as a list, or small icons?

I can't find where in the interface to control the View Style, so that my Stations show as a list, vs as Large Icons. At minimum, if List View is not available, I would want to show small icons. Very inefficient. Plus, I already see that some lists, such as "Movie Soundtracks", have really ugly thumbnail cover images.

There's no way to add a station to the Radio section of iTunes, since that list is provided by a server somewhere. There are two different ways, though, to add streaming stations to iTunes depending on whether you know the direct URL to the stream or are adding a link from a broadcaster.
If you have the direct URL (and it needs to be the URL directly to the stream, not a link to a web page),  in iTunes go to 'Advanced' and then 'Open Stream'. Enter or paste the url and the station will begin playing. The link stream then be in your library and you can, if you wish, drag it to a playlist.
To add a playlist from a broadcaster such as Live365, go to the broadcaster and select the station you want. The playlist (a .pls file) should download to your system. If the station does not begin to play in iTunes automatically, double-click or drag and drop the .pls file into the iTunes library window and the playlist's stream will be added to your Library.  Again, once in the library you can drag it to your own playlist if you wish.
As to when, or indeed if, Apple will make any changes to the Radio section, no one here can say.
    Regards.

  • TS5181 My iTunes Radio (My Stations) suddenly stops playing after 2-3 songs. Any ideas to fix?

Just installed iTunes 11.1.4.62 with Match feature on Windows 8.1 machine.  To my surprise, only a few songs wil play using My Stations under Radio feature.  Very disappointng.  After reviewing the discussion boards, it appeared that this issue seemed to be more prevalent several months ago. Is there a fix out there?  Or is this problem something you need to live with?   Any help / ideas?

The iTunes radio will play more songs from a more popular artist, with many albums and similar artists. For example, my Backstreet Boys station has not stopped yet, but my Jackie Evancho stations have stopped several times.
Try adding a popular artist station, and see if you get the same problem.
The solution for less popular stations, is sometimes to add another artist or song that you want to play on that station.
Let me know if any of this works for you!

  • The radio changes stations on its own

The radio just changes stations by itself - it is irritating...i'm trying to study to nice, mellow music and all the sudden I get celtic fling music.....which is fine if I'm drinking a guiness, not so good if I'm trying to concentrate!

  • How to start a radio (IP) station..?

Hi, I have an XServe in co-location, and a G5 at home.
I'd like to be able to queue-up MP3's (hopefully cross-mixing them with some software), and then use QT-Broadcaster, to send them to my XServe, so that I have enough bandwidth for users to subscribe to the feed.
Finally, HOW does one get their feed linked in the iTunes Radio section..?
Appreciate any advice anyone has on:
    1) Technology Setup - think I have everything I need (minus some mixing software).
    2) Additional software that might be useful (for mixing etc)
    3) Getting my "feed" on the iTunes radio section.
    Thanks a bunch in advance!
    Steve

Sorry, but there's no mechanism for getting a station added to the iTunes Tuner list. No one outside of Apple knows who's running the server that maintains the list since 3Com shut down Kerbango, the previous host of the list, and for some unknown reason Apple has not provided any way of contacting the current provider or administrator for making changes or additions.
I can only guess why this is the case; perhaps Apple doesn't want to bog iTunes down with potentially a huge list of stations (there are after all hundreds if not thousands of iTunes-compatible streams available) and so only provides a sampling.
You might want to consider listing your station through Live 365 or ShoutCast or another such streaming service. That would get it to the attention of a lot of people.

  • Missing iTunes Radio Custom Stations

I noticed that after rebooting my iPhone all of my custom iTunes Radio Stations where gone.  I was thinking they would come back but just now after rebooting my Mac they are also gone from iTunes as well.
Clicking the + next to My Stations does nothing until I click somewhere else then it will flash a pop up window then go away.
Is something bigger going on here?
    gbs

I was able to add a new My Station today.  My old stations along with all me play more like this choices are still missing.  I'll have to rebuild a few weeks of customizations.
Still wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

  • Select button won't remove radio favorite stations

I have a 3rd gen and listen to the radio a lot. Over the weekend I tried removing a station as a favorite using the select button as I have in the past, but found it now acts as a play/pause when I'm on the station I'm trying to remove. Same thing happens when I try to add a station. This happens whether I quick click or hold it down for a couple seconds.

    Hi mweathersbee,
The timeline for this being fixed is dependant on many factors, and is not currently available, but this will be implemented with future versions of the software.
As a workaround, ensure that your SMS and MMS messages are stored separately (Messages - Options - General Options - SMS and Email Inboxes) and within the SMS and MMS messages icon, scroll to a date, select menu, and choose "Delete Prior" to remove prior messages of this type.
    Thanks again, and happy holidays!

  • ITunes Radio, adding stations

Why do some stations in iTune radio start to play and then say unavailable.  I put in a search topic and several stations appear.  I click on them and they begin to play music for 2 seconds and then a window appears and says that the station is unavailable.  This has happend to me 4 times in the last week.

I dont want one Pop Gold radio much less 12!!!

  • ITunes Radio - wrong station

    Hi,
In iTunes Radio, I tried to play Live 105, but it is playing some other station. The info screen at the top of the itunes software shows live1053.com. It's not the right website for the station (correct one is live105.com).
Can someone let the iTunes people know it's wrong?
    thanks,

The radio links in iTunes are simply a link to the station.
Since it's not working directly from the station website, there’s no way it's gonna work thru iTunes.

  • FM radio-no stations, no sound, not even static

My radio worked fine and dandy when I got my nano 3 weeks ago. Today, as I was finishing a run, I switched to the radio and nothing. Silence. I've restored my nano 3 times, I've tried 3 different headphone sets between each restore and I cannot get any radio stations. Scanning for stations produces nothing, and I live in a metropolitan area. I'm not even hearing static. Anything else I can try prior to heading to the genius bar? (is the genius bar my next step?)

Ktigger - Did you have any success at Apple Store?
I'm having similar issues with my Ipod NANO. No sound at all can be heard on ear phones. I've tried multiple ear sets. It appears to be working on the display, but no sound what so ever. No static no nothing on any radio channels.
I don't have an Apple Store near me, so trying to figure out if a road trip is worth it or not.
