5610 T-Mobile

I read up a bit, and i found out that the T-Mobile version has no 3G. That's ok, but are there any differences, between the T-Mobile one and the original one?
Also, as you can clearly see from the picture, the music player is different. Is this just a skin, or is it due to some different software or something?

I did try your suggestion and yes the 5610 will start without a sim inserted. Without the sim my browser is still labeled T-Zones, and certain T-Mobile files still existed and couldn't be deleted. I also got the same error when starting a couple of the same applications. No I didn't expect them to work, but I expected an error along the lines of no connection not the same application access not allowed. Honestly I had no doubt that they made changes which is why i have been giving them such a hard time, I was pretty sure I am being lied to. What this definetly tells me is that I could not just take this phone to another network and have it work correctly because that was an option. What it doesn't tell me is if I get a vanilla phone would I still have problems because of what is or perhaps isn't on the sim card? As far as I am concerned though my phone is defective since it does not work as it should, there is a big difference between cosmetic changes for branding and functional changes that alter the way the equipment works. If third party network applications do work on this phone then I would expect them to work on mine, Ya ok I could see T-Mobile disabling them through the sim so that those features can not be used on thier network (stupid but ok they have that right) but not breaking the phone to disable them after all this is now my phone and should I chose to move to a network that permits them (again an option I am considering) they should work since they are supported by the phone.

5610 T-Mobile doesn't allow applications access to...

The exact error I get is, "application access set to not allowed". I downloaded a third party application that attempts to access the internet for information, but my T-Mobile branded phone does not allow it.

Re-Install Phone software when its switched off/ R...

i own a Nokia 5610 xpressmusic mobile, the problem i face is its software is totally unstable and it crashes often and the phone doesnot switch on or hangs or restarts again and again.. after swtching on. till now i run to service center to instal the software again to make it right.. But as my warranty is gonna expire soon.. Do u know any way by which i can re-install or factory reset through computer when its switched off. i tried software updater but its not able to detect the switched off phone.
Plz suggest a solution.

You can't do anything on a Series 40 phone such as the 5610 XM other than a revert to factory default settings, which probably won't solve the problem for you.
You need to take the phone to a Nokia Care Point before the warranty expires and get them to fix the phone.

Nokia 5610 with dead(?) screen

Hey guys I seem to have a problem!
I was uploading some mp3 to my newly bought Nokia 5610,
I got it 3 weeks ago. I installed the latest software etc etc. Now here we go: I was uploading the mp3's and at some point I had to go to college, and I thought it be alright if I just left my phone on the desk so it could upload the songs while I was gone, and it'd be done by the time I would get back.
Then I thought that maby the battery would be empty soon if it was uploading all the time, so I got my charger, and I plugged it in the mobile... and then suddenly the screen went black. I was like... euh? O.o what was that.
So I start looking at what could be wrong (no i didnt open the device exept of taking out the SIM card and battery and back in again so my warrenty is still intact) Its pretty weird, the screen is black, but when I put it 'on' it vibrates 1 time as normal, I see black letters "Nokia" apear on a dark grey screen. And then nothing happends. The only thing noticable is that the screen goes from total black to dark grey for 2 seconds, it does this 3 times and then it stays black. And then I can push 'on' again and the exact same happends again.
So I thought, maby the battery went dead? I put in the charger again, and this time it kept on going from black to grey untill I unplug the charger. Also when I connect the USB to my computer, the pc finds the 'new device' and then immediatly it disconnects again. This happends everytime the 'cycle' starts again (going black to grey 3 times and then black). So it seems like it is going On, and then after the screen goes black for the last time it is turned Off again.
Its the only thing I see, nothing apears on the screen exept "nokia' (in a weird place aswell, at the middle-bottom instead of the middle where it normally apears).
I'm bashed... I bought this mobile 3 weeks ago, never dropped it or anything. Nothing seems to be damaged either, from the outside at least.
It was all fine untill this morning. Now im not sure wether it was because of uploading the mp3's, or because I plugged in the charger, or combination of either.
Again its about the Nokia 5610 Xpress Music, Has anyone encountered this problem or has suggestions? Else I'm afraid I will just have to get it back to a repair center in Amsterdam (after I told al my friends my new number and said that they could delete my old 1 :/)

Well mate, the only experience i have with this phone (I have the same as yours) is that you should bring it back to a nokia care centre (for locations see posts above) and tell them what the problem is, then they should update/flash the software. In the worst case they will send it to external repairs, which will cost a few weeks (2-4). That is what is happening to my mobile as I'm typing...
Just ask them if they cant do it right in the store, they should be able to. Try to avoid that it is send to external repair as that will cost alot of time. It will help you to understand if you read the a/discussions/board/message?board.id=phones&message.id=34235

Nokia 5610 does not recognize memory card

I have acquired a Nokia 1GB microSD memory card for Nokia 5610 d-1.
But the memory card is not recognized.
In Nokia 6303 the same memory card is recognized.
I have formatted them with this mobile phone.
Nevertheless, the 5610 (v10.00) does not recognize it.
I have taken out the memory card also several times and have started again.
What's wrong?

How to activate songs in expres100 in Nokia 5610

I have recently purchased Nokia 5610. i am trying to play songs in express100 file. i am getting reply " pl activate song no 001". can any body tell how to activate songs in Express100.

Contact nokia customer care +91(80)30303838 in bangalore Working hours: 0900 - 2100 hrs (Mon - Sun, including PHs). Languages :English / Hindi / Tamil / Telugu / Kannada / Bengali / Malayalam / Punjabi / Marathi / Gujarati
They will activate the songs by sending activation message for each song. For activation you need to provide the mobile number and IMEI code. to get IMEI code type *#06# in your mobile.
Drawback: You will get 100 activation messgae which you have to click one by one to activate.
Once the songs are active it can be played from mobile

5610 help!!

I juz bought a 5610 & discovered tt despite having saved names n mobile nos. of frens, there's no name reflected when smses come in, i don face prob wif names on in/out-goin calls. I even upgraded to latest software V04.81, no help(*Note: There's no change to my tones & all). Went to Nokia Care, i dunno wat e they do, the prob is gone but all my themes, games, ringing tones & even music player's themes & equalisers are all gone!!! Furious, i checked wif e staff but they juz dismissed me sayin tt the software upgrade doesn't support those tt i'd lost. They even showed me e version, it clearly shows V04.81. Isn't tt e version i upgraded myself? It's nonsense telling me tt V04.81 doesn't support themes and all.. I'm so desperate, it's a new phone yet i can't do anything to get my e default themes, ringing tones, alerts, music player's themes and equaliser. Is tis e best Nokia can giv us me? Selling me a problematic ph telling me 1-to-1 exchange is nt their policy. I'm truly GRATEFUL to those who can guide me as to hw i can retrieve the default themes and all. Devastated..
Hope aft reading tis, buyers can check not only functions but whether Smses reflect saved names, seldom will people check it. Thanks!

you just go to Nokiacare and tell them to 'FLASH' the software again. But you'll lose ur all datas. you can backing up from mobile phone to ur PC b4 going to nokiacare.

Nokia 5610 express contact list

So I have about 100 contact lists Nokia 5610 express does not have mobile, home, work fields to enter, so my contact lists became 300 lists long, am I correct or something that I am missing ? who knows may be a week later my lists will goes up to 500 ? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Nokia 5610 XM MicroSD Card formatted in pc not wor...

Hi, My 1GB Nokia Micro SD memory card, that came along with Nokia 5610 XM, was corrupted and had no way to fix/remedy/avert the situation unless format the memory. I wasn't able to check if there was indeed a format option in my phone before formatting the microSD memory card via my computer. I formatted the Micro SD in FAT format and had it checked if my phone can detect it, but it read as "Media Player Sync Files" and it was only a folder and not as a memory icon. I also did FAT32 conversion and result was the same.I checked for format options in my phone but there was none.
I searched the internet for answers or clues as to how can I fix the problem and make my phone function back to normal with its memory card, to no avail I found no answers including here. A forum mentioned that I needed to recover back a file from Nokia that will allow the unit to read the memory card. I don't know what that is.
I hope there will be any "detailed help" provided from anyone who knows how to deal with the issue. Thank you.

I found the solution the same day I was having been bothered by it. I happen to have formatted the memory card via a card reader thru my pc. My mobile phone detected it as "Media Player Sync files" and it has 0kb even when it is refilled with mp3s. There isn't any problem with the memory card, but the problem was I did not include a name on the Volume Label found during formatting the memory card.
I reinserted the memory card into my card reader and had it formatted, this time with a Volume Label "Memory Card" (compression is FAT, I heard FAT32 is also okay), then I had the mobile phone read the memory card and was able to detect it as "MEMORY CARD" and used its formatting function to formally format the memory card in Nokia's legal grounds. It is now back to normal.

i have a severe problem with my phone(Nokia 5610 XPress Music). What happened was, just before a month ago,i have an accident and in it, one of the buttons(the button on front face of the phone,color-black,function - with its help, the screen slides left to right or vice versa) of my mobile has broken down and got up from the phone.
Now the place of the button is empty and i can't even brought up my cell phone in public place.
In this situation, with a heavy heart wanted to know, if parts(specialy that button) of that model are available in my country(Bangladesh)/wanted to know the possible time margin of when i can have that available.
Please help me, I am in great pain.

Nokia 5610 and it's myraid of problems.

I've had the Nokia 5610 for several months now, and I wish I could say it's been smooth sailing but it was not. This is my third order of the Nokia 5610 Xpress Music. Why I can't exchange it for another phone? T-Mobile's policy. If I could, Oh I would.
The problems lie in the phone's extremely lagginess. Each and everyone of my Nokia 5610's have had problems with freezing. The instant messenging software has been rendered completely useless as it goes to a blank screen now. My current Nokia 5610's Menu button is malfunctioning. It's a hardware issue...Because I can press it fine while it's "closed" but while slid "open" it ceases to react.
Can you please help? I'm extremely frustrated with this phone. Not only have no new firmware been available since it's release in 2008. If anyone of you know how to fix this..please tell me. I have no other option afterall. T-Mobile doesn't let me exchange it.

NOKIA 5610- 10 PROBLEMS!

Hello everybody this is my first post. I have a Nokia 5610 I bought 1 month ago and I want to describe the main dis advantages I can see in this phone.. Please comment if you own one with your opinions on what to do. help, or anything to add...
1. No SECURITY , you cant make the phone ask you for security code when you turn the phone.. This is a major flaw considering ALL my previous cell phones had this.. So if they steal your phone or someone wants to use it there is no barriers.. Really bad.
2. No InCall timer. This is amazing from nokia how can they release a phone that does not have the option of showing how long you've been talking??? This is really bad, you can choose "call resume" function which shows you the time at the end of the call but its not the same.
3. NO FLASH as LIGHT! what is this?? I mean how come it has such a great light to be used as flash and you cant use it as flashlight?? how many times you are in a dark situation? I was used to take out my phone and spare some light. (keys, dark stairs, ect.. even shooting video at night.) Well.. not possible.
4.MICRO USB .. Why??? why didint you just stay with miniUSB?? Why micro?? who uses micro? nobody.. so if you lost that cable its really hard to get and you cant charge it (phone )through a computer so its useless.. This slot is useful just to connect the computer to a PC.. Attention ; The charger is a different slot.
5. No 3.5mm jack.. so you cant connect your normal headphones you have to connect the nokia ones or use an adapter..
6.No Auto lock keypad.. You have to manually lock the keypad every time .
7.No battery warning signal.. There is no absolute sing of the battery telling you its going to finish.. No red line , no sound (MO), no screen message.. (SE) , no nothing.. you just go to sleep and wake up the phone has been with no battery since you who knows... you put it in your pocket go out.. check it a 2 am .. absolutely dead.. with no warning..
8. No MAPS,..
9. No searching songs or artist title through the numbers keyboard .. so stupid.. you have a thousand songs and you have to scroll allll the way down .. wouldn't it be quicker to just press the 1st letter??
10.Cant send SMS from the phonebook menu.. Im sorry but this is really retarded, you see the options of a contact on the phonebook list and theres 10 options but no "send sms" option.
So prepare to go to SMS menu and then not even scroll but ADD new recipient.. i mean **bleep**??
The rest is pretty decent.. nice sound , quality of images, interface, speed...
But nokia please!! cant you release a software update at least??

My Reply: This feature is available at the Settings menu which you can change the setting of security.. there's 2 option there, if i'm not mistaken..It requires u to insert the securit code.. and for changes of sim card, it do requires the security phone unlock code.. maybe u might mislook the function there.. check it out..

My Reply: Correct me if i'm wrong, do u mean "Call Duration Timer?" If yes, then as the same judgement as above, you might mislook the function which you may edit settings on the "Call Setting"..

My Reply: Ohh yea.. this could be a fair bid to nokia and consumer then.. there's a reason which why nokia doesn't provide the flash light, although 5610 user knew tht its' flash are bright enuff to shine a darkness.. AS consumer, we have the right to choose which is the phone which suits our lifestyle.. hence, for all future buyer on mobile, make a survey on needs and not trend.. coz it will ends up in unsatisfaction like me though..

My Reply: Ouch.. My fellow bro or sis.. this is the reason as we can see the technology and Nokia always comes out with a New..New..New.. mobile.. the technology never ends.. As mentioned earlier.. Nokia packages its' theme and concept or personality for each phone.. This Nokia 5610 is meant for music lover.. which there's fast key for any music turn on/of.. and its speaker.. As for consumer, we hv to knows wut we want and wut is the budget of any purchase.. Nokia comes out with quite of models which can cope with the consumer needs as of:-GPS; N95 8Gb, Navigator or etc..

My Reply: Correct me if i'm wrong, do u mean tht through contacts, u would like to send a SMS..? If is, then u might miss a step tht makes u think tht u can't send any SMS though contacts.. I'll list down a few step below;-
1. Go to Contacts or press the "down" key
2. Choose any of your Pals name / number
3. Press on the name selected
4. You'll see your pal's name and number at the full screen
5. Press again the menu/ option
6. You'll see the list of option, "Send Message"
*** For an ex user of Nokia 5610, My main concern is their conponent as off the left/right slide radio on/off button .. In software, there's no issue for me.. nmw, advise as a user, purchase the right phone which caters your personality and needs.. It will gives u the positive bout Nokia technology..

NOKIA 5610 antenna

Hello to all!
I found a NOKIA 5610 Xpressmusic which has got no signal. I updated it and afterwards I dissassembled it and I found that the antenna is a little damaged. The "sticky" board is a little unsealed so I suspect that the antenna circuit is the problem. The three points that the circuit is connected to the mainboard seem ok and the mobile works well.
So, I would like someone to tell me any other ideas about this problem and if it is worth to buy a new antenna from e-bay at 10$. I know that this is a very small amount of money, but I would like to see some other ideas.

Nokia 5610 express music slide problem

hi frndz!
i hav bought new nokia 5610. For answering the calls i hav set the settings to " answer on opening the slide". Bt whenever i open the slide to answer the call, i get connected to the cal after 3-4sec on opening the slide.
So is this problem being faced by me only or is it a general problem in the handset.

I have reparied my slider key once already. This is indeed a very bad problem. Here it costed me USD 20 for getting it repaired from Nokia. The replaced has already started developing cracks inspite of minimal usage and carrying it in a ultra soft "Case Logic" mobile cover. Any advice on avoiding this prob or I just have to assume now that I cant avoid it.
