5700 Ultra 3 - No ' msi clock' or ' msi info' tabs???

I have an FX5700 Ultra card from MSI with the original drivers that were supplied with it installed. Prob is that i used to have the 'MSI clock' and 'MSI information' tabs under display settings, and now they are gone?? I upgraded the nvidia drivers to Forceware drivers and all was fine, but then accidentally set the refresh rates for the adapter and monitor too high. I had to reboot in VGA mode, uninstall the drivers and reinstall the original supplied drivers on the MSI CD. Since then i have no MSI tabs under display settings?? Any suggestions?

man, if u wanna see the clock of the card, get a utilitary like rivatuner. it has a regfile which displays the clock . if u wanna see the clock displayed by msi and DOT, go to msi hp and get the latest driver from it. i recommend u to use http://www.nvidia.com latest drivers and use a utilitary to display your vga card clock.

    wyles,
Download and install the latest  nVidia ForceWare Drivers
Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory and the problem will go away.
If you want to be able to have the hidden functions, create a file with notepad and put this in it.

    Guys,
You could go get the latest nVidia Detonator4 Drivers from the nVidia Website.  Then you can delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows directory.
    For the extra features:
Use notepad to make a new file and put in it what I quoted below and then save it with the .reg extension.

Double Click on it and it will make an entry into your registry.

Leave them stock. That is not one of the higher end cards that you would see a difference out of by overclocking.

  • Msi fx 5700 ultra 5900xt compatibility

    Hi
I recently bought a MSI fx5700 ultra to replace my ge force 4200 ti, However when I installed it is was a no go ran for about 10 seconds then the power switched of and the would not re start.  returned it to the shop who confirmed it was a dud then because no replacements are available loaned me a 5700 standard till they could get a new 5700 ultra.  ( the 5700 ran fine in my machine)  A few weeks went by then the shop contacted me informing me that could not get a 5700 ultra but would I be happy with a MSI 5900 xt which was satisfactory to me.  I installed the MSI 5900xt the machine started and windows xp loaded and detected the new hardware and all seamed fine until I went into a 3D game then strange things started to appear on the screen.  I re started the computer but even at the POST screen the screen was full of small vertical lines all over the screen and I could not get xp to load.  Back to the shop who again loaned me the 5700 standard which again worked fine.  and they confirmed the 5900xt was a faulty card.
    My system is:
    P4 2.53 gig 533 front system bus
ASUS p4pe motherboard AGP 4 only 1.5 volt
    1 gig ram
    Sound blaster live
a good quality power supply (thermo ??? 480 watt)
    2x120 gig hard drives
    cd writer.
    My question are
1/ As I understand it both cards are backward compatible with agp 4 / 1.5 volt. is this true or an I damaging the cards by installing them into my asus p4pe motherboard?
2/ Is it common to fine a faulty batch of cards? I have been building my own computers for about 6 years with no hardware problems until the 5700 ultra drama.
3/ Can any one suggest any thing else I may be doing wrong?
PS all my system is standard eg not over clocked etc.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone may be able to give

  • MSI INFO & MSI CLOCK

After numerous problems since installing my GeForce FX500 Ultra 256DDR I decided to Reinstall Windows XP.
The drivers have loaded correctly (Thank You!), BUT I have found another problem  ;(
In the Display Settings it shows the 2 tabs : MSI Info & MSI Clock. When I click on either of them I get a error message pop up which states:
"You are Trying to run a DLL as an Application", which then asks me to send an error report to Microsoft and closes down the 2 tabs.
    Why is this happening  ?(
Man I get fed up with problems.

    zero.TA,
I will walk you though this:
    1) Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory.
    2) Download the latest DetonatorFX Drivers from the nVidia Website.
    3) Install the DetonaotrFX Drivers
    4) Use notepad to make a new file and put in it what I quoted below and then save it with the .reg extension.

  • MSI FX 5700 Ultra problem with linux

    Hi,
I know that linux are not officially suported by MSI VGA cards, but NVIDIA based VGA cards use to work under linux. I've got a problem with a recent purchase and until now I didn't found any answer.
Here is my problem, if anyone here have an idea :
I recently upgraded my video card Geforce 2 MX to a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra from MSI (FX 5700 Ultra TD128).
    I've an Athlon XP 2000,
    motherboard Gigabyte GA-7VAXP, 512 Mb,
    distrib Mandrake 9.2
    latest nvidia driver 5328
At startup after installation, Mandrake detected a new hardware, but it was not the right card name. The video test failed and X (graphic mode) didn't start.
Back to console mode, I discovered that even the console mode doesn't work properly : I have no cursor and the screen lines don't scroll up when the screen gets full (very hard to type commands or edit files).
I checked the XF86Config-4 : for me it seems ok. Actually, it didn't change from the previous card.
I've no errors in the XFree log (no lines with (EE)).
I went to the MSI site to look for a newer bios version, but there is'nt.
I tried both DVI and VGA connection with my LCD monitor, same thing.
I also tried running Knoppix (liveCD distrib), same prob.
I pasted below the message i've got on screen when I try to start X manually (this doesn't help much either) :
XIO:  fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
It seems to me that this graphic card simply doesn't work under linux.
Thanks a lot for any help.

To get  X to work with your LCD during the installation process append nofb as one of the installation options.
I have a 17" LCD so you might like to compare the relevant sections in your XF86Config with these:
    Section "Module"
       Load  "dbe"
       Load  "extmod"
       Load  "fbdevhw"
       Load  "glx"
            Load  "dri"
       Load  "record"
       Load  "freetype"
       Load  "type1"
    EndSection
(The Load "dri" gets removed prior to installing nvidia's Forceware drivers.)
    Section "Monitor"
       Identifier   "Monitor0"
       VendorName   "Monitor Vendor"
       ModelName    "CML174SX"
       DisplaySize  340   270
       HorizSync    24.0 - 80.0
       VertRefresh  56.0 - 75.0
       Option       "dpms"
    EndSection

  • I cannot use MSI clock or Info in properties

I cannot use MSI clock nor Info in display properties, nor can the 3d turbo work, it errors, it seems everytime I try to do MSI clock on my GF4 4200 128, it says error occured  while windows was working with conrol pannel file c:winntsystem32desk.cpl
what do I do to fix this? thanks

    Dave,
I since you have a Video Card and you posted in the Anything Under the Sun Motherboard Forum, I moved the thread to Multimedia Forum for you.
    Good Luck,

P.S. Delete the file msicpl.dll and use the latest Detonator 4 Drivers from nVidia and you should be set.

  • No MSI info and MSI clock speed flags in display properties

My problem is really curious. Several days ago I bought new harddrive and made clear instalation of Win98 SE. After that I installed VIA 4 in 1, on-board audio drivers, the new DirectX and then DetonatorXP drivers for my G4 Ti 4600. My problem is that in display properties I miss two flags descrabing my nVidia card - MSI information and MSI clock. System has detected card correctly. In advanced display properties I can adjust OpenGL and Direct 3D settings, AA settings, etc.
My system is stable in every game and benchmarks, so it means that card works correctly. Powerstrip detects core and memory speeds correctly, under adapter options in this program I see 128 MB video memory, AGP 4x enabled, fastwrites enabled - everything is correct.
But in display properties I do not see MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Why ??? I have also reinstalled VIA 4 in 1 and Detonator XP drivers - it did not help.
Before byuing my new harddrive (80 GB Seagate,7200rpm) I had 30 GB IBM,5400rpm. Windows 98 SE installed on this harddrive detects card correctly too including MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Now I miss it. Any idea ???
On both harddrives I have installed DetonatorXP 29.42 then I have updated to 30.82
    My system:
    MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
    1,33 GHz Athlon T-bird
    512 MBRAM
    G4 Ti 4600
    80 GB Seagate BarracudaIV 7200rpm
    Win98 SE

I installed the MSI Drivers from the MSI cd. All ok but the clock and info tabs were missing. I upgraded the driver from msi site to 3000 and no tabs.
     X(
Before the GF4 i had a gf2 and i realized i forgot to uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the new card's drivers. I uninstalled them and reinstalled the msi driver 3000. But no clock nor info tabs.
Can someone help me? Are those tabs needed?
I'm using xp pro, intel p4 1.8 on motherboard intel d850md, 1gb ram.
Also the 3d turbo experience gives me msivga.ocx initialization error.
    Thanxs.

  • Where to buy MSI 5700 Ultra???

    Hey everyone,
I've decided to uprgrade my ATI Radeon 8500 LE card to the MSI 5700 Ultra.  I'm fairly certain this is a considerable upgrade for the money... If I could find a retailer that sells it! Most places I've found are selling the 5700 and not the Ultra. If any of you know where I can find the best prices (if they can be found on pricewatch or pricegrabber, I have overlooked) and online retailers, I would appreciate it!

Have you tried [http://www.newegg.com] I know they sell MSI FX cards!

  • MSI 4600Ti MSI clock and info tabs ....

    please someone help......
when I right click my desktop and see display properties I cannot click on the MSI INformation or MSI Clock tabs because everytime I do I get a 'Run a DLL as an APP has encountered a problem" error.
I have tried different driver versions including 45.32, 56.72 and 71.89 and none seem to work.  I've also uninstalled, run Driver Cleaner and reinstalled and this still hasn't worked........I don't know what else to try and get these two tabs to work.
    Please help.
    Many thanks.

    darier,
You need to go into your Windows Directory and delete the file msicpl.dll and then install the nVidia Drivers of your choice from the nVidia Website. I would use the 41.09s since they were the best I found for the GeForce4 TI's.

    Help!
I've just install ti4200 128mb.  Everything runs fine, 3d mark even showing 9300+
However, everytime I try to go to the MSI clock and information tab under display properties, I get a Microsoft reporting Error!

    Thanks in advance.

What's all talk about install other drivers ?.
This is old problem if you would check some old threats.
Problem lies in ASUS mobo, nothing can fix this, yet.
If you have ASUS mobo, use 40.41 Nvidia drivers with Coolbit to overclock you want be sorry.
There is nothing in this flips that you miss.
MSI support knows about this problem you can try to send them note, but they will not response.
MSI support is one of the worst I have ever tried.
Like you everthing else runs great.  I would be more unhappy about there is no hardware monitoring for G4ti, I thougt first it was in this flips but they only support it for G4 MX cards.  Don't know whey but I'm very angry and I will never get another MSI card.

    Hi,
I need some help with my VGA Card.  I just purchased the FX5600-VTDR128 and when I try to use the MSI Clock feature I recieve a message that displays "Load nvgpio.dll fail" ! It shows my Core Clock(MHz) @ 2D (54) MHz and 3D (?) MHz/ Memory Clock @ (100) MHz.  This is not even close to the stock speeds from the MSI Site on this crad (• GPU Core Clock: 325MHz, Memory Clock: 550MHz) http://www.msicomputer.com/product/vga/vga_detail.asp?model=FX5600-VTDR128 . I even installed PowerStrip to view the cards current speeds and gives me a (275) MHz in 3D as default and (550) MHz for Memory.  I have installed the latest drive from NVidia as well as the latest MSI has to offer with no luck.  :angryfire:I have tried using driver cleaner and installing each driver again as well.
