5730 New Firmware Kill my phone....

Hello, i have updated today the firmware of my 5730 from 1.xx to 2.xx ( the last version)
The updated ended succesfully with no problem or strange thing, but after the updated my mobile don't restart or after some try, is restarting but on the main menu it return off and won't turn on again... please help

If the nokia software updater doesn't allow you to update then your phone is most likely network branded or network locked. Most networks don't bother approving new updates leaving their customers stuck with old firmware.

Suggestion for a new firmware (nokia 2630 phone)

Hello,
I've bought nokia 2630, and revealed one weakness.
When i use "go to" menu or some other menus i can't use numbers to
move through menu (then i push "5" i go to point #5 and go in; in my old nokia 6021 this worked fine).
So such thing in 2630 works only in main menu, but not in "go to" or "functions" and some others menus.
I've interested in service center about new firmware, but they said that i have the latest version.
So i decided to post here to ask official developers to think about new firmware there this function will work properly.

New firmware changed my phone model.

Last month i go for phone updates and automatically changed my X2-01 to C3-00. Now after updating to newly firmware v8.. My phone model has been restored to its original model. Now the problem is i cant restore my backup files. And everytime i tried, it keep saying " restore must be done on the same phone phone model where back up file was created". I am a stupid to go for firmware updates even after hearing so many problems from avid fans of nokia. Shouldn't have gone for it. Is there any help to this problem or shall i just go for another fone?

New firmware kills VPN

Hi
Last week my router upgraded to firmware version 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.37 (Type A).
Since then I have been unable to connect to VPN's at any of my clients, either wireless or wired.
My laptop can connect fine using other broadband connections.
How can I get my VPN connections working again.

Yes, many thanks for the suggestions. Far more plausible than what the BT Helpline had to offer.
Nevertheless, like Nick, my IP is not shared and disabling web address help has not fixed the issue.
If you're struggling, Nick, try using the BT-FON connection on your hub which is like connecting to a public hotspot. I can confirm VPN works for me when connected to that, though it is not ideal.
I have investigated other potential causes such as Windows updates but none have been applied in the timeframe. The only discernible change is the firmware update.
I'm going to try a factory reset on the router now to see if that resolves things, and will update later. Perhaps the firmware is just not quite compatible with the settings I have created, though I doubt it, as everything else seems to work OK and I haven't changed much at all.
I'm very glad to hear that this willl be raised with the hub team. This was really all I wanted to hear from the support helpline but they preferred to tell me that my router was out of warranty so the only solution was to sign up for another 12 or 24 month contract and get a new hub. Explaining that breaking someone's router with an OTA update then asking them to sign up for a new contract to fix it was effectively extortion, seemed not to concern them a jot. Hopefully the much improved service received from this forum will avoid the need to phone Watchdog. Perhaps you could also raise the issue of trying to extort contracts out of people with the support helpline.
Rant over. I really do appreciate the offer of plausible solutions over talking to someone who thinks a VPN is a games console, even if the problem has not been resolved.

Cannot detect new firmware on my 5800 XpressMusic

I've bought my phone directly from a Nokia store in the US 2 years ago and I am currently using it in Bulgaria. Both OTA and PC Suite tell me there is no new firmware for my phone although my firmware is v 51.2.007 which is waaaaaay older than the latest 60.0.003. Why is this happening? Any way of solving this?

Welcome to Nokia Discussions.
An update only shows up in Nokia Sutie when it is available for your particular device. As your phone is from the US, it might be that the update is not available for your region. If you're not sure, please contact your local Care line who can check this for you, all you need is your IMEI (enter *#06# into your phone) and product code (enter *#0000#).

X6 new firmware

Guys, since I have updated to v 30.0.003, I cannot find any new firmware e.g. 32.2.002 till now (I have enabled the auto update) Any1 can help me ? I have tried to search for new firmware in my phone and ovi suit, but I still cannot find the new firmware, please help

Its still not allowed for discussion here, as changing your product code would also give Nokia Care viable grounds for refusing to fix your device if any problems occur during the process. Simply put, changing codes would be a violation of Nokia policy. Its not allowed by Nokia. Nothing stops you from doing so, but Nokia can refuse further services to you from the Care Centers.

E6 - dead after new firmware (025.007) upgrade

Hi.
My Nokia E6-00 is now dead, screen doesn't power up and Ovi Suite / PC doesn't regognize it.
I upgraded Ovi suite to 3.90 prior installing this new firmware for the phone, during the firmware upgrade there was a error.
It didn't connect to the phone anymore.
Even if I did what the Ovi Suite suggested, battery off, usb cord back to the phone, battery back and then power on - still the upgrade wouldn't continue. I tried at least twice.
Situation is so that the phone haven't a firmware at all?
I googled for a hard reset / three finger salute, but nothing helps.
It seems that there isn't a three finger salute for this phone model or nobody knows it?
Is the only way to get my phone working again, by going to a Nokia Care Point and let them flash it?

Retry or data will be lost". This appears over and over again. I have removed my microSDHC memory card, but the message will not dissapear. Do you know where the problem is and how could I fix? Help! E75 new firmware doesn't work!!

I upgraded to 201.12.01 firmaware.
Now I can't make any calls ("call forbidden") and I don't receive any calls.
Also the phone's menu is very buggy: when I choose smth in the menu I get in the wrong page!
I made a hard reset. The phone worked well for 2 hours. But when I finished installing all the software - it broke again the same way ((
What's wrong?? Is there any chance to cancel that new "improving" firmaware?
How can I get that phone work well??
PS. It was the last time I bought Nokia phone. I think Nokia can produce only "simple" phone models, but not a smartphone..

yep i gave the same advice to my friends: do not upgrade the phone. at least until the bugs are fixed.
We were promised by a new firmware update coming today, my main problem is with my GPS, it keeps hitting me with no connection,like the phone is totally separated from its GPS receiver, it worked just fine before with the v110 firmware, and Nokia totally removed the satellite status which i found really useful!!!
this firmware is a real screw up for NOKIA i always loved their phones and updates, hope they fix these issues soon, cause i really loved my e75

I have found on a few different nokia-related-pages that is a new firmware for nokia 6110 navigator (version 6.01). no information about bugfixes, nokia service centers seem to already have it. more to come.

Ok here comes the first news and bugfix list from 5.11 (and i add 4.22 infos) (i use the numbers from here: /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=40488&query.id=554906#M40488 )
a nokia service center did update my phone to version 6.01.
firs of all: seems to be a again just a mini-upfate as 5.11 was.
- Nokia 6110 Navigator gets firmware 6.01 (02-09-08)
- Nokia Navigator-Program is still version 8.0.12274 (11422) as it was in 5.11, no updates, no routing towards coordinates as in newer route66mobile8 available.
- New firmware seems to get better satellite-signal (not faster, but better signal and therefore more satellites that are actually used)
- No flash lite 3.0, still 2.0
- Maybe sound quality improved in carkit-mode for the one using the phone, was not yet able to try to talk with another person
- Battery bug fixed (as in 5.11)
now concearning the other bugs:
1- could not yet try that alarm-bug
2- fixed, i hear no sound-crack
3- not fixed, volume +/- still not activated in games
4- i have no dual-sim, can not try this

we are using one of your most popular mobile the n73- music edition ( product code for my mobile 0564012)
as it is seen over the internet that nokia is rolling out firmware updates for their s60v3 devices like some of the e-series.., i just want to know if nokia will release a firmware for our mobile..??
if not.., its our humble request to release one.., which can provide better performance and stability..
most common complaint is regarding its speed..
for eg while entering to menu the mobile becomes sluggish.. even if the phone memory is empty n no memory card is ther...

The N73 was long since discontinued. There will be no further firmware updates for that model.
If you are unhappy about that you can complain to nokia using the "contact us" link near the top or bottom of this page.

New firmware for Nokia E65?

Hi!
I've heard many who have updated their Nokia E65 to firmware v3.0633.69.00 but my updater still says v2.0633.65.01 . Where do I get the v3?
And my E65 is very very very slow to open menus and messages. Anyone else got this problem? How can I fix this sluggish phone and make it faster? It sometimes take 5-6 seconds to open the menu or an SMS. That's realy bad

Hello itmn,
I updated my E65 to v3 at Nokia Care Point (even though it was not available in NSU, they told me they always receive the firmware upgrades first than they are released to the Internet/NSU).
After a couple of weeks using this new firmware, I noticed battery improvements (with 3G switched off), the phone is little to nothing faster, and some minor bugs I was experiencing related to WLAN were corrected.
As to your E65 being slow, I once was experiencing the same with v2 firmware and the only solution I managed to fix it was to reset the phone.
I reseted after a back up, but then decided to restore only contacts and calendar entries, and reinstall all the applications from new/fresh downloads (as I noticed some of them didn't work if they were restored from the back up).
In the end, the phone was faster and more responsive.
I guess you could give it a try.

I'm updating my phone right now, but as all previous firmware versions, there is no change log. We have to figure out what has been fixed this time.

After a quick search around, i get completely lost about the right and safe firmware for this phone.
There are some issues ready to be fixed, so im guessing nokia is working on that. Having that said, i see to many firmwares, to many versions, to many sources, absolutely no oficial news on that.

Actualy, even i dont input my product code, when i select the phone, immediately i get: There are no software updates available for this product yet
So, i understand there is zero releases for this phone, since its exists....
Hope im wrong.
Paid big money for a phone who doesnt identify the sms sender.....
Really frustrating....
