5800 applications cant access the net..

in my 5800, opera mini is working fine, but no other application cant access the internet..looking forward for a solution.

Can you further elaborate on your concern? Which internet connection are you using? Have you tried using a WLAN connection to access the internet? Is there any error message? Can you access the internet using the phone browser? Can you name some of the applications you have on the phone?
We can try some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue:
1. Clear your phone browser's cache. Refer to the manual for the instructions: http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_5800_XpressMusic_UG_en.pdf
2. Under settings, check your default access point. Make sure that you are using this access point for the other applications you are using.
3. In your phone browser, you can set the access point to "Always ask". This will enable you to choose which connection to use when using the phone browser:
Internet> three lines> Settings> General> Access Point> Always Ask.
If the above steps did not work, you can follow these steps:
1. Perform a power cycle on the phone. Turn off the phone and remove the battery for a few seconds. Place the battery back and turn on the phone.
2. You can factory reset the phone. This will not delete any personal data but it will restore the phone's default settings.
Settings>Phone>Phone mgmt>Factory settings
The default code is 12345 unless otherwise changed. After the factory reset, you can customize your settings on the phone. For internet settings, you can check with the operator.
3. Check for updates using the Nokia Suite. If none, you can try to reinstall the phone software. For video tutorials, check www.nokia.com/nokiasuite
4. If there is no progress, you can reformat the phone. This will wipe all data, thus make sure to have a backup file first to prevent data loss. You can create a backup file through Nokia Suite. To format the phone, dial *#7370# on the dialer.

    Hi Guys,
    Since upgrading to mountain lion i cant access the shared drives on our windows server. For example in a windows machine if i go to run the type \\server\ i get all the visible shares available. in my previous version i was able to do the same (obviously i would authenticate with my AD account). now when i try to access those same shares i get the message below:
    "The operation cant be completed becuase the original item for "/" cant be found"
    I can however connect to the shares directly for example if i connect to server path \\server\data it works ok.
    I have verified my account details and they are ok - i have also disconnected and reconnected the connection.
    This was working fine before the upgrade. can anyone help??

    well iv just managed to get to 35 gig free (just deleting iphone backups) and im now able to get past the next screen on bootcamp.
    unfortunatly its only allowing me to create a new partition not delete the current.
    this is leading me to think the old ones master partition has become damaged and the hard drive dosent know it exists any more.
    if this is the case (please tell me im wrong though) what options do i have as i dont want to / have the money to buy another hard drive to back everything up to it with.

    You will need to put your iPhone into recovery mode by following the steps highlighted below.
    iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode

    Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
    While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
    iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

    In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

    Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.

    There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
    * Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
    * You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
    * "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above)

    I had the exact same problem yesterday when i tried to get some music from the store. The same messages appeared on my screen. I just waited for an hour or so and logged on again with no problem. I was able to download music normally. Perhaps there was a momentary glitch at the iTunes store at that time.
    You might try to log on again and see what happens.

    Airport Utility is for administration of genuine Apple Base Stations. If you have a different Brand, Airport Utility can do nothing for you.
    I think they're using ethernet.
    To connect a Printer via Ethernet, no password is needed.
    We already tried the password for the internet and that did not work...
    If a password is required to connect to the Internet, then WiFi is likley being used, and that WiFi password is the one needed for the Printer connect wirelessly as well.
    What make&model Printer? Is it indeed a Wireless Printer? Most connect via USB, but that would force it to use a specific computer to assist in printing.

    Hi.  I recently updated software on my Macbook Pro and now I can't use my iPhone to log into the internet.  I can still use bluetooth, but this isn't my preferred way to access the net.  Can anyone help?

  • I am on a mac trying to download ff install to a flashdrive for a friend with windows - his browser is inop, so he needs to install ff to access the net.

    friends wireless internet connection is OK but after updating explorer to 8 his browser went dead. Now he has a good wireless connection but no browser to act as interface. If I could download firefox install program to a flash drive and copy to his workstation the problem would be solved.
    My problem is; Mozilla download page sees my mac and only allows me to download a mac version. A choice before downloading a version might be nice. How can he access the net without a browser.

  • I can not access the net w/ Internet Explorer but not firefox. I have Mozilla set as default browser.

    I have had a problem previously accessing the net w/ firefox. After checking firefox info site, I set Firefox as the default browser and that corrected the problem. It has now happened again w/ the settings as described. No problems (other than normal) w/ Internet Esplorer and no problems w/ Thunderbird. Suggestions?

    You may also need to reset some prefs. You have a lot of prefs in your More system details list that were changed from the default.<br />
    One of them being the pref to override the user agent to Firefox 3.6.3
    general.useragent.override Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3
    If you haven't set network.http prefs yourself to those values for specific reasons then you should reset them (not all servers support pipelining). dom.max_chrome_script_run_time 0 and dom.storage.enabled false should also only be done in case of problems. dom.storage is a replacement for cookies and dom.max_chrome_script_run_time set to 0 may cause the browser to hang in case of script errors.

    Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
    Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
    Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.
