5800 - Apps missing after restore

Hello,
After my phone refuses to start up after switching on, I had to take the memory card out so it can boot up normally, turned it off and reinsert the card and it booted up okay.
I did the back up yesterday - full back up, memory card including and reformat my card and phone.
However, after the restore - I noticed quite lots of my games and apps are missing, even the application manager shows them as installed. Where have they gone to? Also the game folder have disappeared, putting half of the games back to the App folder. The App Manager is also missing a few applications such as PaintPad.
What is happening to my phone? It's quite new. How do I get the installed applications that is missing from the application folder back in the folder?
EDIT: Oh, my memory card have changed its name to No Name. How do I rename that as well?
Thanks so much

there are certain apps and themes and such that even if they show installed are really not, you need to reinstall those again. also NEVER update your phone with the memory card in it. that is a tip for the future. some apps that came with  your phone like the iplayer are a one time deal some of them you can find on the internet and redownload and some you will have to purchase. if you reformat, update your phone that is what happens. sorry mate i know no joy here but its kind of how this works.

If they were in your camera roll when you lasted backed up your phone, restoring the backup should recover them.

  • Espn radio app disappeared after restore

I had to restore my iphone because it had nearly 5GB of "other" files. All my purchased apps disappeared, including espn radio. When I try to sync apps, itunes tells me this computer is not authorized for this app, even after I go to Store and Authorize this computer. Huh??? I'd rather not buy the app again if I don't have to.

Delete the app then restore it from iCloud it worked fine for me.

  • NIC device missing after restoring image

    I am using ZCM 10.3. I've created an image of a Win7 Enterprise HP5103
netbook. When I restore the image to an "identical" 5103 I find that the NIC
has disappeared. If I check device manage the ethernet adapter appears
under other devices. If I reinstall the driver, allowing it to search and
automatically install, it restores the NIC.
I can't figure out why the NIC just isn't there immediately after restoring
    the image.

  • Photo Booth app still missing after restore!

I have an IPad and the Photo Booth app is missing completely. It's not in spotlight, nothing is restricted and even tried a full restore and still nothing...... Any assistance would be great!

I do have a camera on the front, so what accesses that function? I thought that's where photo bohoth would come into play? Also is FaceTime only on the 2nd gen as well, because that app is not appearing?

  • App Store Missing After Restore of 10.6.8

Hello everyone.  I recently did a Time Machine backup from a point just before I replaced my hard drive and re-installed the OS, etc.  The MacBook Pro was at 10.6.8 when I did the restore...and most everything looks fine (so far) with one obvious exception:  The App Store dock icon was showing a question mark.  When I looked in Applications, sure enough...it wasn't there any longer.
I did some reading and tried installing the 10.6.8 Update Combo...but still no luck.  I'd like to get this working so I can download Lion and install it on the machine.  I just got a Mac-mini that's running Lion and it appears I need to get this MacBook Pro on Lion before I can create a Time Machine backup that I can then restore onto the new computer.  That will save me a lot of manual moving/installing, not to mention that I'd just like to have the App Store back on the MacBook Pro.
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

Manually download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo, it is a safe install over your existing version and may fill in any blanks that are there.

  • 5800: apps missing / won't run / "key icon" overla...

A few apps went missing on my 5800, also under Application manager. They're on the SD, and I think all Java. Some apps also started showing a small key icon overlayed at the corner of each app's icon. These apps can't be run.
A restart didn't help, nor a restart without the card and a live reinsertion. After another restart the key icon overlays disappeared but these apps still won't run. They could only be reinstalled after an uninstall, but those that disappeared are stuck in limbo.
Besides the above, one app that was preloaded on the card now has an empty icon, and after two restarts its name shows as a 9 digit number (see below). It can't be run.
All of this on firmware v31. As far as I can tell I didn't do anything to trigger it.
Are there any non-destructive ways to fix it?
Is there a way to use Symbian without all these strange problems popping up all the time (with the usual solution seemingly being total reset/format)?

ur symptoms lead to a diagnosis of corrupt memory card.. Have u installed any of those java programs from free game sites tht, while installin, says ur phone could be harmed? Coz those java games r a bit unstable on nokia5800.. I knw it shouldn't be.. But... It is.. Sometimes there's a read/write error and then they show key icons..
Whatever to solve this, do this..
    Connect with computer
When asked choose mass storage mode
    Open my computer
U'l find ur memory card listed
    Right click, goto properties
There's an option for check disc for errors
Select tht and let it scan and fix errors
After u r done, see if u can uninstall those in limbo.
If not connect again in mass storage mode
Go to ur computer settings and as to show hidden files, and also show important windows files
    Open ur memory card
    U'l find a FOUND.000 folder.. Delete it
It's unusable by symbian os and it takes on space
Restore ur hidden file settings to normal.
    Hope this helps..

  • IOS App crashes after restoring simulator

    Before my problem
I was creating an app for iPhone and, after taking my first snapshot, when I ran it on the simulator the storyboard changes in any view where not shown, but all the code changes were applied correctly. I don't know how to solve it but now I have a worse problem. In order to fix the "storyboard changes update" thing I restarted the simulator.
    My problem
Now, when I launch the app I get the SIGABRT error.
    What I did
I have already restarted the computer, the simulator and Xcode. I also did the Clean thing [cmd + shift + K] and the Clean Build Folder thing [option + cmd + shift + K]. I did all together.
    Not working already.
Sometimes I start Xcode and the run button is greyed out but still works.
    Some not valid solution
I restored the previous files in the ~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/6.0/Applications and the application worked again (Storyboard changes not updating, of course) but I want my simulator restored, not some trick.
Note: The old app folder in the simulator was 984E5409-2F65-4560-8AE3-59CDEAC3F314 The new one has a different name, but I don't know if this is the cause.
    Thank you very much.

Sorry, I restored the simulator (Resetting contents and settings), not just restarted it, I miss the word.
Also, all the problems begin when I created a snapshot of the app because I was starting major changes. Could the simulator be trying to load the snapshot? That would explain why it's crashing after resetting the simulator and why the changes in the view where not shown.

  • Many apps missing after upgrade to OS 5 on my iphone4.

Hi. I just installed the new OS 5 on my iphone 4. I used my MacbookPro and itunes. Now my apps (especially games) are missing from my iphone by they appear to be on itunes. When I synch, it is still the same and they don't appear on my phone. Help !

I had a horrible time upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. After numerous errors, I had to do a restore instead. I shift clicked restore and selected the firmware file.
Once the firmware installed, I was asked to select my backup file, which I did. Once this had restored, like you I appeared to be missing a large number of applications.
I then restored again. This time, I realised that whilst the restore claimed to have completed, it hadn't actually finished synching. Since you can now use your phone while it syncs, this gives the illusion that everything has finished.
I would advise restoring again, but this time leave it for a while. You should get a message onscreen telling you that it is synching the apps (then the music). The first time round, I didn't see the message about apps which is why I didn't know!

  • Can I recover lost app data after restore?

Hi everyone and thank you in advance to anyone who can offer some help!
Apple recently told me some issues I was having with my phone were software based and they refused to issue me a replacement phone until I attempted to setup the phone as a new phone in iTunes. I did so and it didn't fix the issues. I am waiting on a replacement, however, in the meantime, I am restoring to the backup file from iTunes. I have restored all of my general data but, all of my app data is missing.
I'm most concerned with an app that keeps track of my time off requests for work (including info on all of my vacation days and sick time, from the last 5 years) as I know I have time to take off before the end of the month. I know, it sounds silly.
Bottom line, is there a way to restore the backed-up app data to my phone? I've never had this problem when I've used the backup to set up a new phone or a replacement in the past.
    Many thanks!
Note: I have an iPhone 5 and am using a Windows based computer.

The backups are completely random and although I backed up daily and, as a precaution, 4 times previous to the advised restore, there is only one that is current (the next most recent file is from a year ago).
As mentioned, I've previously had no issue with this. I've received replacement phones and purchased upgrades in the past, and never had any issues with app data syncing.
Should I try another restore from backup or is there something else I should be trying?

  • Many apps missing after upgrade from iPhone 3gs to iPhone 4?

Hi - I'm trying to troubleshoot for my dad who was lucky enough to receive the iphone 4 today. He says the majority of apps didn't transfer from his iphone 3gs. I did a screen share with him and he's right. The apps are on the old iphone 3gs but not showing in his apps library or on the new phone. Anyone else experiencing this? He did a full back-up and had already upgraded his iphone 3gs to the iOS4 software. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had this issue but found the cause and solution.
When upgrading from the iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 4 (initial connection of new phone to iTunes) and AT&T moved my phone number from the 3GS to the 4; the 4 told me to power cycle (and I think unplug). Since a power cycle causes the phone to disconnect & reconnect to iTunes, and since the first sync after plugging the phone in always does a backup, it did a backup of the blank phone settings (no apps), and therefore wiped out the checked apps in the Applications tab of iTunes. (Note: The apps' data did exist, so checking an app, syncing, and then running the app showed the data. Good news: Data's still there. Bad news: Any apps you skip will hold their old data, as opposed to when you delete an app and it removes the app data for you.)
After hitting Erase All Content and Settings on my old 3GS and realizing it only took a minute and not an hour like the original iPhone did running OS 2 or 3, and seeing how smoothly its reinstall went (loaded settings, rebooted phone, and loaded apps OK), and more importantly that iTunes kept the old final 3GS backup and used a new backup for the new iPhone 4, I tried it on the iPhone 4: I hit Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings, then connected the phone. It asked which settings to restore, found my old phone backup (used date/timestamp to find right one); it then loaded settings (a few minutes), rebooted, and went right to installing apps. My phone was fine after that - all apps and folders were restored.

  • HI, i've got a big issue with my Ipod touch 2g...lot of my former apps unable after restore! please help

Hello to all, last month i had to restore my Ipod touch 2G. 16 apps are unavailable now because of: need ios 4.3. But they were on my Ipod before!! And i want may apps back, think lot of them were payed!! What can i do?
    Thanks of your answers
    Dume1

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

  • Artist artwork missing after restoring phone

I'm using an iPhone 5s running the most recent version of iOS.
Last night I restored my phone from a backup. When I view music on my phone, the "Artists" artwork is mostly missing. A few artists have the photo that downloads from iTunes, others have one of the album covers, but for the most part they are all blank.
It took quite awhile for the album artwork to load, but as I scrolled through the list they all filled in (I have a really large library, over 20,000 songs).
But for some reason, the Artist artwork seems to be stuck with just a few inconsistent and random ones filled int.
    Any advice?

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, utilities seems to be the common folder they disappear into.  Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it.  Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • Address Book app missing after ML upgrade

Hi - After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I no longer have the Address Book app in my Applications folder.
It exists on the backup clone I made just before I upgraded. But that version won't run under Mountain Lion.
    2 Questions:
    1) What happened?
    2) How do I restore Address Book? Reinstall ML?
    Thanks....

Doh. I had set up a hot key to call up Address Book.
When it failed, I looked in the Applications Folder. No Address Book!
I wish all my computer issues were this easy to fix...thank you.
