5800 can't sync-system error

Hi there,
I've just signed up for Ovi and have received and saved the settings for sync'ing from the Ovi message.
I browse to the sync app and each time I try to sync, i get a 'system error' message.
Do I need to do anything else? The help page on Ovi just says save the settings and you're good to go....but I'm sensing there is something else to be done.
Can anybody kindly help?

All sorted. My phone needed, in an unrelated bit of 'fun', a reformat. I then used a pc to log into ovi, remove my device and then add it again and resave the configuration settings from the new text. All working now.

PCSuite Sync - "System Error"

Recently I have started getting the message "System Error" on my N73 when synchronising with PC Suite. I notice from several posts in this forum that many other people have reported this problem, yet I am not happy with all of the suggested solutions.
I synchronise my N73 with two different PCs, one is Windows 2000 and the other Windows Vista (still waiting for my company to upgrade us to Windows XP!!). This has worked well for a long time, and allows me to have a synchronised calendar at work, home and everywhere I go. (Both PCs use Bluetooth to sync regularly when the phone is in range).
I have not updated either the phone nor any of the PC suite applications, so I can only conclude that the System Error is caused by a corrupt entry in the calendar, contacts or something else that is being synchronised.
*** My request to Nokia is that having reached the point where the synchronisation fails, can you highlight the entry so that it can be resolved by the operator?
I have over 500 contacts and over 6 months of calendar synchronised in my N73, therefore wiping all of the data in the phone is not an option I wish to persue. I can confirm that it is not low on memory and all software is up to date. Like I said, it worked before and I made no system changes.
The error message from PC Sync simply says "PC Sync was not able to send data to the mobile phone."
The problem first started at home, but now I'm getting the message at work too.
If anyone knows any other ways to resolve this, I would be glad to hear.

Hi,
If your phone supports create new sync support, click on create new sync settings while at the Finish option you will spanner icon for advance settings of Nokia PC Sync - It will Automatic Sync, Conflict Resolution, Direction and Sync profile. In that Direction is 3rd option.
BTW., which version of pc suite are you using? Which handset are you using? Connectivity BT/IR/USB ??

Nokia Lifeblog - Can't Sync - 'An Error occurred"

Hi guys,
I've been using Nokia LifeBlog flawlessly for a while with my Nokia N81.
Suddenly when I try to sync it, it gives me an error that says:
"An Error occurred"
I've tried reinstalling Nokia Lifeblog heaps of times, nothing seems to work.
Any help please?

Actually, I've realised now that my phone doesn't connect to PC Suite at all or any other Nokia apps
I've tried reinstalling and this doens't fix the problem.
When I open 'Connection Manager' it says:
"Connection to Nokia Nseries system utilities failed. Please reinstall Nokia Nseries system utilities. (Code: Init IMediaControl2)"

For some reason, my iPhone was "freaking out" when I was trying to access its music library earlier today (constant flickering back forth between different songs by a single artist). In the end, all the music from my phone was deleted . Then when I was trying to transfer music, I got an error from iTunes when I try manually "drag n drop" to sync new music: "the iphone cannot be synced. an internal device error occurred". Any advice? Itunes can't sync photo error -50

after upgrading itunes and iphoneS (5 and 4) and ipad 2 to new ios 7.1 i cam't sync photos to all of that devices....i have this error

Can't Sync, Unknown Error -54

Some songs that I've moved to my phone and show up as being on my phone have remained grey as though they haven't finished transferring. Nothing I've read or done has changed this or helped. Please advise me how to make these songs available on my iPhone 5.

I have been fighting the exact same problem since iTunes 11.2.2.3 was installed. I would get the error when syncing both my iPad and my iPhone. After researching the issue it seemed to be related to "Blocked" files being synced. The files in question were without exception .mp3 and .jpg files that people had given me. I found I could right click on the file, check the properties and there was an Unblock button that would clear the problem for that file. Unfortunately, my iTunes library was littered with this type of file and there was no way to go through one file at a time. This was also the case with a folder of Photos I had synced to my iPad. There were many references online to a program called “Streams.exe”, that was supposed to fix blocked files, but repeated attempts failed to unblock my files. After many hours of reading I did find a solution. I created a .zip file of the folder of .jpg files I was syncing on my iPad. I deleted the original folder and replaced it with the contents of the zip file. The end result was I had the same files but none of them had the Block. I repeated this process in my iTunes music folder with the same result. It was a time consuming process, given I had over 6,000 files in my library. If you have more than they I feel sorry for you. At least I can sync both devices without the error message now. Since then I just check the files before I add them to iTunes and the problem has not reappeared. Hope this helps!

Can't sync iPod - Error Message: "disc cannot be read from or written to"

My ipod had been working fine until recently when every time I try and sync it I get the following error message:
"Attempting to copy to the disk "iPod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to"
I have tried all suggestions in Apple's support article for this issue but nothing works. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it?

I am sorry to report that I too have this same disc error problem when syncing my iPod to my iTunes library. I take no comfort in knowing that I am one of many that have this same error. I checked on the iPod lounge forum and I just couldn't count the number of users that had the same problem. There are just so many!
I too have tried "5 r's" and I have also tried using a few "s" words and others...lol.
It seems like there is no "fix" for this problem but I will say this: If there is no solution, then I will no longer be buying iPods. This is my third iPod that I have purchased. Which makes my Apple investment near the thousand dollar mark. That is way too much money spent to not have a functioning music player. I will be switching to another player to see if the grass is greener on the other side.
I have been most dissappointed with this error and I will not be "recycling" this iPod for ten percent off of my next iPod purchase.

Pls help- iTunes can't find my songs on NAS, can't sync iPod (error -50)

I’m having serious trouble with my iTunes. FYI I have Windows XP and iTunes ver 8.1 and Ipod 80GB classic. Last month I attached a Buffalo NAS device to my machine and exported my songs to the device. It worked without a hitch for a few weeks, until recently (maybe it has something to do with my importing videos from my Tivo, since the problem happened shortly after that). Yes I went to “preferences > advanced” and used the proper drive letter/location.
Suddenly, several weeks later, my itunes had trouble finding the songs, and beside each one I got a little exclamation point next to the song title with the following error message: “could not be used because the original file cannot be found.” I went to the thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7158063 and did what was recommended, to no avail. I also tried recreating the itunes library as follows: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451 but it did not work. I’m not sure what else to do.
Also, I tried to sync the iPod and I got error message that it could not be synced “an unknown error occurred (-50). I already restored the iPod, to no avail.
Please help.

CAN NOT SYNC PHOTOS (Error: "The Required file cannot be found")

Hey All,
So i got a an iPod Touch today from the Apple Soho Store in NYC. Very Excited.
I am getting an error though when syncing my photos. I created an album for the iPod Touch and am only syncing that.
The error that I get is:
*"The iPod "My iPod Name" cannot be synced. The Required file cannot be found."*
Things I've tried:
- Not syncing the photos: Everything works fine
- Not syncing that album, but another album: Same Error
- Read up on the same problem on the iPhone: The only solution that I saw that didn't work on some iPhones was to clear the Keywords. I WILL NOT CLEAR MY KEYWORDS.
I am using the most update-to-date versions of iTunes, OS X, and iPhoto 08'.
Please help!
Oh and by the way if you know how to make it Disk-Enabled. Please tell me. Apple is lame for taking that feature away from the iPod.

Hello,
Explore iphoto library (right click, "show package contents"). There is a folder called iPod Photo Cache. You need to delete the contents of that folder dragging them to the trash. Then sync your iphone again.

Can't Sync ・ Unknown Error [-48]

iTunes 7 keeps giving me Unknown Error [-48] when updating my 60 GB iPod video.
i think it somehow related to the photos folder, because i can't view my photos anymore.
any ideas?

i ran the apple chkdsk.exe app and it fixed the problem.
i posted another question under this same title, if you look it up you should be able to find the instructions that were given to me. it was super easy.
took about 10 minutes or less to do!

Can't sync apps - error message says that they can't be identified

I tried to sync my Itouch this morning and got a message that it couldn't complete because it couldn't identify all the apps.

the message actually says that they can't be determined. I do have 'sync apps' checked. I just tried shutting down my itouch and itunes and restarting them and that didn't work.

On my server/phone this error was fixed by changing over to a NON secure connection both on the phone profile and on the server. I have found the solution for my Nokia E50 (RM-170, V06.41.3.0, 24-10-2006). Operator: Life (Ukraine). Mail For Exchange 1.5.0 (for E-series).
The following error appeared before in admin_log1.txt: 372 Unable to establish a tunnel. The phone displayed the message: Connection Error. Try again later.
To resolve that I have removed proxy server use in my connection settings: Menu>Tools>Settings>Connection>Access Points. Choose "My Internet connection", Options>Advanced settings: Proxy serv. address - None, Proxy port number - 0. After that synchronization works fine.
So, M4E just doesn't know how to go thru a proxy in contrast to RoadSync. Probably it's not a severe fault, but it is vexatious issue that needs to be fixed in next releases.

Upgraded to itune 9 and 3GS (3.13) can't sync now???!!!
