5800 dialer not working in silent mode

I sometimes need to call a number where I am asked to press 1 for option 1, 2 for option 2 etc.. I just discovered that the dialpad doesnt work when in silent mode. Any solution?

Maybe you had some app in the background then and was eating up memory slowing the phone down.

    Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.  Then give it a try.

  • Auto dial not working

    Auto dial not working
    I'm using an iPad 4, with WiFi and Cellular and iOS 8.1.3
    In the past if I was searching for a hotel and found one I only had to tap on the phone number and it would dial using either Skype or MagicJack. It worked using Wi-Fi or my data plan. It was an absolutely valuable function especially when traveling.
    Now, when I click on a phone number, it says that it's going to exit the program (like Safari) and start a new program. When I click, Ok, nothing happens.
    I must have inadvertently changed some setting.
    Skype works, MagicJack works, but I must dial the number manually.
    I have tried turning "Handoff" off and on then rebooting, turning FaceTime off and on and rebooting (and every combination of those two programs and actions).
    To say the least, I am frustrated because it must be something obvious. (to everyone else!)
    Any ideas as to how to how I can get it to dial automatically again?
    Thanks for any assistance.

  • 4.3 Update - Car Stereo Issue, voice dialing not working with Bluetooth

    I've seen some similar issues reported, but they were for specific cars/stereos, and the symptoms were different, so I'm posting about mine:
    Phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII, Android 4.3.
    Car Stereo: Pioneer AVH-X2500BT
    This is a stereo I bought and installed myself. All of its features worked fine, and I was enjoying making calls using voice dialing via the stereo. Then, I installed the 4.3 update to the Galaxy SIII. Ever since (literally, I made a call that day before installing it, and tried shortly after), I cannot use the voice dialing feature. Any attempt to use voice dialing or voice commands via the car stereo will fail. Here's what happens:
    I do a long press on the car stereo's Home button to initiate voice dialing. On my phone, S-Voice starts up, and a Toast (little message) pops up briefly that says "Check in-car audio". When I talk, the little animation on the microphone button in S-Voice does not happen, meaning it's not hearing anything. The car stereo shortly cancels out of voice dialing mode, as though it timed out, or something.
    I've tried switching to Google voice, but the same thing happens. I've tried all kinds of configuration on both devices. I've unpaired and re-paired. Nothing.
    Also, turn-by turn directions from Google Maps appears to not work. The app thinks it's giving them, and when I turn the car off, the voice suddenly works from the phone, but it just won't come out the stereo.
    All other features work fine, including Pandora, and streaming Bluetooth audio. I can even make phone calls, by accessing the contacts and recent call list from the car stereo. The calls work and come through the stereo fine. Literally voice dialing and Google Maps are all that doesn't work.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

        There could be any number of factors that may be affecting this, byounie. It may be that the firmware on your car stereo headunit may need to be updated. My direct recommendation to check first would be to access your bluetooth submenu, and next to paired info for the Pioneer AVH-X2500BT, you should see a little cog wheel/settings icon. Please select this, and start unselecting everything available there. Work your way up, and enable and test these different settings one by one, to see if there is a conflict between Google Maps and Voice dialing services. Let us know what happens, byounie.

  • Software for control buttons not available in silent mode

    Hi guys,
    When we starting the setup in silent mode, does not include the software of control buttons.
    There any way to select it in some config file to be installed by default in silent mode?
    Thx for all!!!

    The software is part of the Value Added Package
    This package contains different software parts and important utilities like
    - TOSHIBA Components Common Driver is an essential component of Windows. It is required to make the other TOSHIBA original programs work properly.
    - TOSHIBA Power Saver controls power consumption by switching to optimum power settings, based on whether the machine is plugged in or on battery power, and based on the remaining battery power.
    - TOSHIBA Utilities lets you customize your hardware settings according to the way that you work with your computer and the peripherals you use. To start the utility, click the Windows Start button and click Control Panel and select the TOSHIBA HW Setup icon.
    - TOSHIBA Password Utility lets you set a password that restricts access to the computer.
    - TOSHIBA Flash Cards provides the Hotkey function and the launcher function that starts the Hotkey function and launches the other TOSHIBA utilities.
    - TOSHIBA PC Diagnostic Tool can display the basic information of a computer and diagnose
    To be honest I never tried to install the VAP in silent mode but if you want to get the control buttons working in this unit, you will need to add VAP.

  • LV 8.5.1 Installer "run after installation" not executed in silent mode ; Autoupdate

    Hi all,
    I developed a software used "inhouse" by most of my colleagues. This software is changed continuously.
    In the past I had to inform everyone that there's a new release available.
    Thus I developed a "quick and dirty" autoupdate mechanism. (See attachments)
    The application looks for a file located on our server, which contains the version number of the most current release.
    If the version number of the installed software and the version number in this file differ, the Installer for the new release is executed.
    In the Installer settings I run the installed software after installation finished.
    So that the user doesn't notice there was an update and the software starts as allways.
    The installer is started with commandline options to install in silent mode with surpressed License Notification und supressed restart.
    The start of the installed software after installation works if I start setup.exe in "normal" manner (doubleclick setup.exe)
    BUT the software DOES NOT start after installation when installed in silent mode. (Commandline prompt: setup.exe /q /AcceptLicenses yes /r:n )
    (Tested with XP, Vista, 7)
    Does anyone know how to get this working ?
    Thanks in advance, best regards,
    Balze

    Hi Andrey,

    Well, just checked - it seems to be works as expected in LabVIEW 2010 and doesn't work with 8.5.1 as you have described.
    There are some bugs in installer's builder was fixed between versions 8.5 and 10.0.
    What you can do - upgrade to latest LabVIEW version or try to fix installer manually. I guess trouble present in \bin\dp\install.msi file. You can check what inside of msi with Orcas utility provided by Microsoft.
    Hope it helps,
    with best regards,

  • Wireless works FINE in Safe Mode, WILL NOT work in Normal Mode

    Hi All:
    I've been smashing my head against the wall with this one. I have uninstalled ALL unnecessary applications I could find. Basically all that is left is Windows XP, Drivers and Patches in Add/Remove Programs. I have removed the wireless driver, downloaded a newer one and installed it, still nothing. I have tried it using no Wireless Security on the AP, and also using WPA, and wouldn't work with either in Normal Mode, but worked with both in Safe Mode. I ran a virus and spyware check (before uninstalling Norton), and it came out clean.
    The weirest thing is, sometimes it does connect and get an IP in Normal Mode, but when I run a ping to my local gateway, half the packets are lost (timeout), and the ones that do reply I see a response time ranging from 2ms to 5000ms with no other traffic. I have no idea what can be causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    If all else fails, I will resort to formatting it and installing WinXP from scratch, since I doubt it's hardware.

    It appears that some device whose driver does not load in Safe Mode malfunctions.
    If this occurs before loading any drivers for added devices, then you'll need service.

  • Ctrl+tab is not working in editing mode

    I have JcheckBox and JTable in my JPanel. When user clicks or presses F2 to edit any cell value of the JTable a comboBox will appear with possible values. (This comboBox is coming from table CellEditor). When user presses ctrl+tab from the table focus should transfer to JComboBox all time. It is working only when the user presses ctrl+tab from the table cell which is not in editing mode. If the user presses ctrl+tab from the table cell which is in editing mode (i.e. focus is on the ComboBox of the cellEditor) it does not work. Please help me to find the solution.
    I give a sample code here for your reference.
    public class Frame1 extends JFrame {
    public Frame1()
    super();
    this.setLayout( null );
    this.setSize( new Dimension(400, 300) );
    JTextField ch = new JTextField();
    ch.setVisible(true);
    ch.setBounds(10, 10, 10, 10);
    this.add(ch, null);
    DefaultTableModel tmodel = new DefaultTableModel(3, 1);
    tmodel.setValueAt("0 0 1",0,0);
    tmodel.setValueAt("1 0 1",1,0);
    tmodel.setValueAt("2 0 1",2,0);
    JTable custLayersTable = new JTable(tmodel);
    custLayersTable.getColumnModel().getColumn(0).
    setCellEditor(new ComboEditor());
    custLayersTable.setBounds(new Rectangle(40, 40, 280, 145));
    custLayersTable.setSurrendersFocusOnKeystroke(true);
    this.add(custLayersTable, null);
    public static void main(String[] args)
    Frame1 a = new Frame1();
    a.setVisible(true);
    final class ComboEditor extends AbstractCellEditor
    implements TableCellEditor
    public Component getTableCellEditorComponent(JTable table,
    Object value,
    boolean isSelected,
    int row,
    int column)
    Vector<String> layerValSet = new Vector<String>();
    for(int i=0; i<3; i++)
    layerValSet.add(row+" "+column+" "+i);
    mComboModel = new DefaultComboBoxModel(layerValSet);
    mComboModel.setSelectedItem(value);
    mEditorComp = new JComboBox(mComboModel);
    return mEditorComp;
    public Object getCellEditorValue()
    return mEditorComp.getSelectedItem();
    private DefaultComboBoxModel mComboModel;
    private JComboBox mEditorComp;
    }

    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    Since the textField is in a different class i could not use the transferFocus API directly. I tried the following code in the keyreleased event of Combo Box but it was not working.
    KeyboardFocusManager.getCurrentKeyboardFocusManager().focusNextComponent(
    e.getComponent().getParent());
    I also tried the following code in stopCellEditing and is not working.
    KeyboardFocusManager.getCurrentKeyboardFocusManager().focusNextComponent();
    Is there any other way to achieve this?

  • Voice dial not working after upgrading to iOS 5

    After I upgraded my iPhone 4's operating system to iOS 5, voice dial is not working any more. When I press and hold the home button, voice control is enabled but only music-realted features (such as play, pause, etc) and "what time it is" work. The "dial XXX" and "call NAME" option don't work any more, and in the blue screen that is shown for voice control, I don't see the word "dial" appearing any more.
    My friend who has iPhone 3GS upgraded and she doesn't have this problem.
    Do I have this problem because I made a mistake during upgrade?
    Is there some place where you can specifically disable/enable voice dial?
    Or, is it Apple who disabled this feature, to temp iPhone 4 users to upgrade to iPhone 4S to have that feature back?

    No, because I don't even know how to do that. I just restored the phone to one of the previous backups I had, using iTunes. The OS was unchanged (iOS 5) but the functionality was restored.
    In this process, I lost all my applications, but my notes, contacts, etc were untouched (see below). As for apps, all I had to do was to look at the list of my apps in iTunes, and reinstall them.
    If you want to do the same thing, note that you may lose your contacts or notes if you simply restore an old backup. Before you do so, enable iCloud and make sure your contacts and notes (and other important things) are backed up in iCloud. Then, after restoring your phone, enable iCloud again and it will fetch all the contacts, notes, etc that you might have added after that backup you just restored.

  • BDC is not working in background mode and working fine in Foreground mode

    Hi Experts,
    I have created a BDC in SHDB for the transaction code:CWBQM for creating and deleting the record and converted the BDC recording into the program using call transaction. It is working fine in both foreground and background. When I given the same program for users testing one for the user was able to delete the records but Creation is not working in the same BDC. He is able to create the same records in another PC and the problem is only in that PC and only during the creation of the record. When I change the mode to 'A' mode for testing and request the user to execute and it is working fine the records created successfully. What could be the issue ?
    Thanks,
    Hema

    Hello,
    While recording BDC in SHDB try setting "Simulate background mode" flag and give a try.
