5800 Email setup wizard use data connection withou...

While setting up my email account on 5800xm through Messaging>Options>Settings>Email, the email setup wizard automatically opens. After defining the email address and password, the wizard automatically attempt to connect through 3g data connection to retrieve the email settings. Why is there no options to choose which connection to retrieve the email account settings?
Does anyone expereince the same problem? How can i change this?

It seems to have worked on my 5800 Xpress.  To decode the advice, two icons regarding the email setup were on my screen, one for email and one for email set up.  The email set up was in pink.  I pressed the white button to get the Organise, went in , selected the pink email set up icon and Removed it.  Now both icons are gone.  We will see tomorrow morning if I get the annoying message again asking me to go on the network.  Think it is sorted. I suspect that accidentaly starting the proceedure keeps it hanging around in the background.

  • Email Setup Wizard

    Hi helpers@blackberry,
I'm trying to set up an email account on my handset.
The issue I'm having is that the setup wizard is only giving me the option to set up an email using the Blackberry Enterprise Server which is not applicable for me as I'm trying to link a gmail account.
According to the tech support site and the instructions (in the setup wizard) I should be getting an option to "I want to create or add an email address" however I'm not getting this. As stated previously I'm only getting the "I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server" option.
A prompt response would be greatly appreciated. I'm desperate to sync my mail.

  • Old 5800 email setup not nokia email programme.

hi there (first post here!!!)  i have a 5800 V50.0.005 and ages ago on my old software (prob v31 iirc) i had email setup like text messages.   when i clicked messages i have 'hotmail' under the text message inbox but now its stopped working and every time i try and setup email again it loads and installs 'nokia email' programme which i find useless!
I did set it up (3 times) and told it to send and recieve every hour like i did before and it just does not work!!!   if i send an email it will send hours sometimes days later and even if i click 'sync' it still does not do anything, it goes online but does not seem to sync. same with recieving, works when it wants - useless!!!!
All I want is it to work like it did before with my hotmail folder in my messages. (v31)   Is this poss on V50 or can u reccomend an email programme for it that works!?!
    Thanks in advance

  • Why can't I use data connection for FaceTime on iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 says I have to use wifi in order to use my FaceTime and I was wondering why can I just use my AT&T data connection instead.Every other iPhone could use their FaceTime but the 4 cant.We have an update to be able to use both ?

    As already provided:
"I believe AT&T requires that you be on one of the "shared" data plans in order to do FaceTime over cellular. If so, either change your plan or complain to AT&T, as this has nothing to do with Apple."

  • When I'm reading email, am I using data from my data plan?

This is the first phone I've had where I go on the Internet. Am I using up data when I read my email? Thanks!

Depending on your Preview setting for mail - the number of preview lines shown for a received message dictates how much is downloaded initially with each new message, but another preview line for text does not amount to much data. When you open a received message, the remainder of the message is downloaded. Depending on the size of an included attachment, the attachment may or may not be downloaded when opening the message. If an included attachment is not downloaded when opening the message, you must select the attachment to download the attachment from the server.

  • HT201363 I can't remember my security question answers, the email that is used to connect to my questions is disabled and I can get into my email, what do I do because I have 17 some dollars and I want to use them.

I don't know what to do

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

    Hi sketch804,
You will need adjust the mail application's POP settings to get your Yahoo! Mail messages into it.
POP access is a service for owners of one of the following:
•Yahoo! Mail Pop Access & Forwarding
    •Yahoo! Mail Plus Premium Services
    •A Broadband account
    •A Small Business account
To use an email client or application to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages, you may need to designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server. Consult your owner's manual for instructions on designating servers in the email application.
If you can't add new POP or SMTP servers, you will need to change your current server settings. Before you make any changes, write down your current settings. You might need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.
The following steps will help you find the POP settings for your Yahoo! Mail account and configure it:
Your phone email client or application will ask for these settings:
    ◦Incoming Mail Server (POP3)— for example, pop.mail.yahoo.com.
◦Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)— for example, smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
◦Account Name/Username, your Yahoo! Member ID— for example, myuserID.
◦Email address, your Yahoo! Mail address— for example, [email protected].
◦Password, your Yahoo! Mail password— for example, l0ngitudin*l
    Notes:
•POP server settings may change from time to time and you should confirm the current POP server settings in Yahoo! Mail if it is not working.
As an alternative to configuring Yahoo! Mail POP mail configurations, go to:
    http://mobile.yahoo.com/mail
Enter your phone number and send a link to your phone; the best Yahoo! Mail experience will be suggested to you.
Hope this has provided you more information on how you configure your Yahoo! email.
    Regards,
    haZey

  • How to export only the form field data in an XFA form when data connection is used

I have used xml data connection to populate the values in the dropdown. The data to be loaded into the DropDown is very large , So I have used data connection using xml scheme.
Then I used export data functionality to export all fields in the form to xml.Insead of exporting all the fileds it just export the values of the dropdown which has been binded through Xml Schema.
I am not having the licenced version of Adobe Life Cycle. Could you help me solving this issue ? I just want both the data binding and the export data functionality.
    Thanks & regards,

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you should then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.
    Good luck!

  • Email Setup Error on the 8900

When I try using the email setup wizard and select 'I want to create or add an email address',  I always get an error message saying 'Your device had a problem connecting to the server'.  I have to cancel and abort the process.
I know I am connected as I can access the internet, receive emails to an existing account etc
    Does anyone have a solution?
    Cheers
    Solved!

Quesion, you can access to any web page with your device?
You can add the account through your carrier web page, log in on your account, go to setup blackberry mail and add the mail account.
Try resetting the device too, with the phone turn on, take out the battery for 30 seconds and install the battery again.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

  • Email Setup Option Missing

    Hi All -
    I am in UK.
I am the proud owner of an iphone, sorry I don't want the knives thrown.  I have bought my daugter ( refering to as me for the rest of the topic) the BB Curve 8900 at her request against my better judgement, without any disrespect to Blackberry users, each to their own.  I am use to things working out of the box or just a simple restore to factory and away you go.  There seems to be very little about how to maniplulate the Blackberry to the Users requirements.  Considering I own it!  I should be able to do with it as I please.  I am very computer litterate so what you throw at me in solutions, dont worry about the lingo.  That's it my rant and rave due to frustration is over, any assistance would be greatfully apreciated.
My BB Curve 8900 badged as T-Mobile and unlocked.  Not sure on software but when I checked on line is was up to date.
Bought brand new from a work colleague so no problems there.
I am on vodafone with data plan.  The internet on my BB works fine and I can browse no problems.  I have phoned Vodafone customer services and got a feeling that 'ar*e and elbow come to mind'.  They said can you get the internet, I said yes, they said so what's the problem!
On the setup email, I only have an option to join an exchange type server.  My friend has the exact phone but bought on contract from Vodafone, she has 'mobile email setup' .  I have looked through the internet and found the 'setup email help', as I have said I don't get any option other than joining a VPN type email.
So please help me. what can I do, wipe it clean, re-install the software, my last hope would be to go to our local Vodafone shop and I get a feeling the my previous comment would come back in to play.
Thank you for reading my ramblings.
Regards and respect to you all.
    Tony

  • 8520 Email Setup Issues and App Download Issue

    Hey there
I got my first Blackberry ever yesterday. I've been wanting one for years but I finally got it and I cannot set up my email or download any apps.
Each time I got to setup the email the only option is 'I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server'
But I don't. And I know to download apps you have to download the app world. I did it via the desktop but apparently my phone is compatible?
I'm so confused and I don't know who to ask to help me.
    Thanks

  • Can't get emails setup.

The 9720' keeps stating activation request failed. I don't have a business account and yet I only get given an enterprise activation screen for email setup. Help

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
To use the proprietary BB services (including Push email capability, BBM, etc.), you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a Push-email enabled BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), your BB-proprietary services will function (e.g., you will have Personal/Internet Email added to the email setup wizard, your BBM will function, etc).
With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans, it's impossible to tell you specifically what any service plan might actually provide. Only the carriers can answer that question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you desire, and then talk to your carrier about obtaining (from them) a data plan that enables what you desire.
    Good luck!
