5800 homescreen problem and ringtone list problem.

i am facing two problems:
1.Usually when the music player is running you can see the song name and duration on the homescreen. This has disappeared for me. Calendar entries dont show as well. I use handy shell whose task manager i used to kill the homescreen accidentally. I tried restarting the phone and restoring the factory settings. Kindly help.
2.In my gallery and in my ringtone list there is this one track which appears 96 times! i deleted the track but the entry wont go away. how the hell do i get rid of it??!!

use option #3, its not usually what it is meant for but if you cant remove a file then that might be a way to go. also did you try to remove it from your memory card via card reader in your computer and see if this helps any ? the option #3 will erase everything off your phone so make sure that you do have a back up. also i think that you store your stuff on the memory card so try this first and see if it works for you.

hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. )

Start up problems and shutting down problems

i have an hp pavilion all in one desk top computer and i'm having problems with the start up, sometimes when i turn it on i get as far as typing in my password and then the screen goes blank and i have to shut it off manually and turn it back on, but when i do it says failure to configure windows updates and reverting changes, and when i go to shut it down it shuts down but stays running so i have to start it again wait to put my password in then i can get it to shut down but yesterday when i went to shut it down i went to settings and clicked shut down and it wouldn't do anything so i manually shut it off and turned it back on , can anyone tell me what is causing these problems and how i can fix it.

Itunes sync problems (and wish list)

No doubt the iPhone is the most beautiful mobile phone with the greatest (and most consistent user experience). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for iTunes! This tool (and being forced to use it) is the single greatest frustration in the iPhone experience!
I am sure many may not agree with me, especially considering it works fairly well as long as you don't change computers, want to sync two different iDevices (with same account BUT different content), temporarily remove apps/songs because of storage limitations, use app folders and expect iTunes to respect their content and placement, or try anything else outside iTunes limited scope. In short, iTunes is either incredibly non-inuitive, I am an idiot for not figuring it out, or it is absolutely the worst part about the iDevice family.
My problems began when I changed computers and since then, I have not been able to sync to my new computer. The problem is (or seems) that iTune is insisting on syncing in *one direction only*, with the message, "Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone "xxxxxxx" will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library." This message appears when I attempt to check the Sync Apps check box.
So what do I do? I have already deleted iTunes and reinstalled it.
- Yes, I have right-clicked on DEVICES, and selected BACKUP and SYNC and TRANSFER PURCHASES (why so many options AND what the heck are the differences?)
- If I ignore that dire warning and select Sync Apps, the preview window shows all my apps in a jumbled mess. In stark contrast, my iPhone apps are arranged in my own logical order and placed in organized app folders. I am afraid if I click SYNC, this is the mess that iTunes will send to my iPhone!
All I want to do is start over... I just want to back up (or sync) the contents of my iPhone like I have done for the past two years.
Can someone please tell me how to sync iPhone ---> iTunes?
I love iDevices... if I have to purchase another tool, I am happy to do so.

Oh yes, my wish list for iTunes:
- Clearer messages that are more intuitive than what appears now.
- The ability to store/swap apps/music/etc. temporarily off-line (because of iDevice storage constraints)
   A backup/offline storage area that is ignored when syncing
- iTunes should respect apps and app folder content and placements
- Allow for multiple iDevices (with different content) on same iTunes account
   I have an iPod, iPad, and iPhone - I want to be able to independently sync them on a single computer
with a single iTunes account.
- Make it easier to sync in either direction (and change sync direction)

implement? and that I also correlation rule can invoke function same as
get_ipaddress or
get_dhcpaddress in arcsight, Does sentinel provide same function?

This sounds like a Sentinel product, vs. Sentinel plugin, issue. Please
post it in the Sentinel list on forums.netiq.com to get exposure to the
largest group of people who may be able to help. This list is
specifically for plugins.
Also, when posting in the other list, if you can post the raw data from
each of the events that may help others understand with which data you
have to work.

Bookmarks and reading list problems

Since the iOS7 upgrade, I've been unable to save bookmarks or add to the reading list. The problem seems localized to my iPad, as Safari functions normally on other devices. Suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.

Hashmap and array list problems

This is an assignment I have to do and I do NOT expect anyone to do the coding for me. I am just looking for some direction as I have no clue where to go from here. Any guidance would be very welcomed.

We were given code and told to "Modify the MailServer so that it uses a HashMap to store MailItems. The keys to the HashMap should be the names of the recipients, and each value should be an ArrayList containing all the MailItems stored for that recipient. " Originally it was just an ArrayList named messages. There is also a MailClient and MailItem class.
I think I can post the messages using the HashMap now, but can't test it. I get a compiler error saying else without if even though I have an if statement. Even if I can compile, I need to make sure I am on the right track with the getNextMailItem method. It is the one I am stuck on and if I can get it to work, I can probably modify the other methods.
I would really appreciate feedback on that one method.

The way I understand this is that MailItems are stored in per user ArrayLists, and that the ArrayLists are stored in the HashMap, and use the username as a key,

So given that, you don't even need to Iterate over the list:

SVG Series chart problems and wish list

Hi,
I've noticed that when I add more than 3 series, the fourth item in the legend is displayed below it, amidst the data, in other words the legend is not resized or the exceeding elements are not accomodated in the spare space available inside the legend's box.
Also, I cannot use dynamic values for series names. This would be very useful when creating charts out of TOP-N queries. The only way around this is to split a chart into N charts, where, at least, I can dynamically assign the chart title.
Likewise, I cannot calculate dinamically the X or Y axis maximum value, which would allow me to round up to the nearest multiple of some value.
It would be great if these requirements could be addressed in a future release of HTML DB.

Startup problems and many other problem... APPLE CARE DON'T FUNCTION !!!!

Hi, and sorry for my bad english...
I have imac 27" refurbished bought on september 2010. When startup process proceed correctly and i can use the computer, there are many many many "blocks" of normal operating: it appears the colored circle and the system is always "busy", although there are no application open!!! When skype is open, it always lost the already saved password. Safari lost all the login saved password. I can't drag files into the basket or create a folder! (message error).
But the big problem is: startup process failure almost always!!! Startup is ok only if the computer was off during some hours. After the first startup, i can't restart (manual or automatic restart, in any case...) it appears green screen with the green apple, and the rotating cirle forever.....
So, i have tried many solution:
- check and repair HD using utility disk: FAILED
- check and repair permits using utility disk: FAILED
- format the HD using utility disk with OsX dvd: FAILED
- reinstall OS X: FAILED
I gave the iMac at applecare centre to repair, two times!! 2 TIMES in 1 month !!
- first time: replaced HD
- second time: replaced mother board
In both times, the repairs DON'T FIX THE PROBLEMS....
THE PROBLEMS REMAIN THE SAME (like a led zeppelin song...)
So, i think: maybe the cause was not the HD, maybe not the mother board... WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?????
Even the autorized apple assistance centre can't find e repair the problem, what i have to do???
I think that Apple should replace the product or refund me...
but, i know, APPLE THINK DIFFERENT...

1) when i try to initialize "Macintosh HD" appears this message: "Disk initialize failed - POSIX reports: The operation couldn't be completed. Cannot allocate memory". WHY? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
2) If i try to reinstall OS X appears. "IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL MAC OS X ON COMPUTER". WHY?

An audio problem and a video problem

1. I'm a total novice about audio filters. Which filder would be best to take out wind noise? I used a rabbit fur baffle but still got a bit of wind noise. It cannot be reshot.
2. Sometimes when I try to put a transition between two clips it seems to slip under the timeline. How can I avoid this and get the transition to center on the edit.

1. SoundTrack Pro might be the best tool for this unless you have a more sophisticated audio program installed. Essentially, you'll need to sample just the wind noise then use the sample to filter the rest of the clip.
If the wind noise is just low end rumble, one of the EQ filters may do it without leaving FCP. You'll need to play around with the settings to find what works in your situation. The main problem with wind and air noise though is that it often covers must of the audible spectrum, so any filtering you do can/will also effect the part of the sound you wanted to keep.
2. Sounds like a "handle" issue. Make sure your clips have enough frames before the IN point and after the OUT point to support the duration of the transition you're using.

Hi all, went to turn my mac on, and was stuck at the load screen.. then I noticed that load bar that normally happens when firmware is being updated.. but nothing happened. I reset, still same issue.

It goes on and on... more of this type of thing.
It suggested I back up as much as I could and reformat my computer!! Lucky I had bootcamp, so I just reinstalled Mac OS over windows.
Is there anything I can do to save my files? It wont allow me to click on Repair Disk Permissions.
When running Verify Disk, it says I need to repair it, so I click on repair disk and I get "disk utility can't repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk and restore your backed-up files!!
Now I do have an external drive, if I copied all my music, photos, docs etc to my external drive, that maybe the only way to recover everything? Or is there another way? Please help.

I have tried from the OS installer disk running the repair disk and I get the same error about not being able to do it, and i need to back everything up and re format the drive.
I'm having problems starting in safe mode. I hold down the shift key, and then then little spinning cog comes up, and below it the bar shows safe mode is starting, but then it disappears and just stays on the spinning thing.
This is where the problems first started, was stuck on that.
Not sure what else to try

After Effects Rendering Problem and RAM Preview Problem

I posted a question about this yesterday but I thought I would repost it with more detail!
I have a restless issue here with rendering and RAM preview. I am simply trying to create a viral ad which uses the cloning effect I achieved with masking for my college coursework and I have completed the process of creation but I have ran into problems. The RAM preview will only play up to a certain point then it will just stop and this effects the final render because it gets to the point in the rendering where the RAM preview stops and then a message will pop up saying the rendering has failed or something? (Screenshots Below)
I have tried RAM previewing just one of the three videos I am using and it still stops at the same point.
I am using .avi files and have tried converting to .mov, .mp4, .wmv all of which didn't work.
I am using After Effects CS4 ver 9.0.0.346
My computer specs
AMD SEMPRON processor 2.7Ghz (single core)
2GB RAM (I know its not alot ;))
ATI Radeon HD 5600 512mb
Creative audigy 2 sound card
Windows XP Serivice Pack 3
It's quite urgent and I hope someone can help!

With just 2GB of RAM, I'm impressed that you can generate that much of a RAM preview. RAM previews use RAM. When they run out, they stop.
Have you tried rendering the clip using the Render Queue. If so, does it also report an error at a similar point? If it renders correctly from the queue, you're done. If it doesn't, you probably have a corrupt source file.

Waveform Problem and Input Level problem with Onyx 1620

I was reading an earlier post and saw that someone was having trouble with the gray boxes for the loops as compared with GB. I am also having that problem, but with my actual recordings. Is there a way to show the waveform instead of the gray box on the main screen?
Also i've had another problem with my Onyx 160 firewire mixer. It seems that i have to turn the trim at least 3/4s or higher to get just a small read in Logic Express. I have the input on the computer turned all the way up and it still hasn't changed anything. I also used the main gain on the firewire card and turned it all the way up, but still no change. Does anyone have any experience using the Onyx with Logic? Could you give me some tips?

Import the audio from the audio menu>import audio file, instead of the import from the file menu.
About the Onyx, I don't have a clue.

PLEASE HELP!!!! ios4 update problem and facebook update problem

i have been trying to update my ipod for 5 hours now...
when i clicked update it started to back up my ipod and froze...so i canceled and tried again, it froze again. so then i clicked to backup my ipod, and then after i clicked to update...
then i got an error "unable to update software becuase of an unknown error (1603)". and now when i tried to click update again it says "the ipod cant connect to itunes"
my other problem is with the facebook update. before the update if i click on "a farmville picture" to collect that item, it would collect it. but now it just puts a gray box around the picture and wont collect the item.
has anyone had these problems? 5 hours trying to update...to then be told it wont update. and the facebook issue...i sent a message to facebook feedback but we need more people or they wont have another update to fix it.
please help!

I'm not sure there is a way to prevent this. The Skip button is really intended for the review process. Unfortunately it is also active at the time the user encounters the question. Basically, if the user clicks the Skip button they are saying "I don't wish to answer this question". Thus, the question is left unanswered and counts against the final score.
Perhaps another Captivate author has a suggestion.

Creative Cloud install problems and apps updates problem, glitch? what to do?

Hi, is there a glitch in the creative cloud installation? Once installed I cant uninstall it, moreover once I download apps like Indesign it takes forever, like over one hour to donwload and then updates cannot be installed, I get an error message saying "update failed. Download error" and I have a feeling it is messing up my hard drive
