5800 not connecting in PC suite mode - drivers not...

I've dowloaded the newest version of pc suite, and when i connect the 5800 via usb and select pc suite usb mode, it doesn't work!
"device driver software was not successfully installed"
when i click on the taskbar where this error pops up, it says
5800 ExpressMusic Ready to use
Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic USB (COM5) Ready to use
Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic USB OBEX  Failed
Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic USB OBEX Failed
Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic USB Generic Failed
Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic USB LCIF Failed
Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic USB Modem #2 Failed
nokia suite consequently cannot see my phone.
any ideas? i've uninstalled, restored the pc to a restore point, re-installed, and yet it does the exact same thing.
i also tried nokia software updated (even though i think i've got the most recent firmware anyway...), and it also can't see my phone for the same reason.
this is hopeless, please help!!!

hmmm...
just to be sure, have you gone into the appmanager on your 5800 and selected "all" for software installation?
also, you could try to reinstall the pc support to the phone....  from the nokia pc suite...help/reinstall pc support.
personally, i wouldnt use the 1.1 ovi suite...and ovi suite in general unless you absolutely have to.
if you need to try it, then get the 3.0.0.289 version HERE  it has the least amount  of problems.

    Hi
Ive been going crazy trying to connect my 5800 via usb to my laptop (vista). When i connect via bluetooth its fine but usb simply wont install drivers. says that i am missing phone parent . i have tried everything i have read e.g unistalling everthing and using pc suite cleaner and then re installing pc suite 7.1, removing wdfo1000.sys file form system 32 folder and placing on desktop.  Ovi suite wont connect either because of the driver problem. i am connecting in pc suite mode. i need the usb as bluetooth is too slow. please help

Sorry, I do not have an answer, and because I do not know how to start a 'new topic' on the discussion board, I would like to ask my question here:
My ovi nokia suite takes aboutbtween 1 and 2 minutes to open, after I have clicked on it for the first time.  My previous nokia suite (E70) opened immediately.  Does anyone have the same 'problem', or is it just something I must get used to ?
ps. my PC is not the fastest, but it is not slow either, I have no problems opening other programs on my PC, therefore it must be something with ovi suite itself.
Any suggestions to open it quicker ?
ps. I know it is not a nokia question, but can anyone recommend any PC cleanup (anti-virus) programs ?
    Thank you

  • Nokia 5800 PC Suite mode

I got a msg today from Nokia saying there was an update for the 5800.
But I am unable to connect the phone to the computer in pc suite mode.
I updated the software on the computer as required by the update, but then it would not recognise the connection to the phone so I cant update it.
I can connect it mass storage mode, but as soon as I connect via PC Suite the usb connection dies. I am able to connect via bluetooth, but this doesn't help as it says I need to conect via PC Suite to receive the update.
How would I be able to connect the phone to the computer via PC Suite mode to get the upgrade?

I too am facing similar problem. I had OVI suite 2.0 and V40 on my 5800.
I got to know that V50 was released from a friend of mine. But when I connected my phone for the update through OVI suite, it said v40 is the latest. However, When checked for the update from my phone by *#0000# and 'check for updates' the could see the v50 update. So I upgraded OTA from my WiFi connection.
The update went fine. However, the OVI suite now doesn't recognize my phone even though it's connected in PC suite mode. Earlier, before the update, I never had this problem.
If the connect the phone in Mass Storage mode, it works. Also, OVI suite detects my phone via Bluetooth.
I even updated the OVI suite to 2.1.1 and restarted my comp., but had no luck.
    Any ideas?

I am unable to connect my nokia n85 through usb for Ovi suite and also the Nokia Download program. Whenever i connect the cable, it tells me
"your device is in file transfer connection mode and cannot be used with NOkia Ovi Suite. Quit file tranfer mode from the device if you want to use the device with Nokia Ovi Suite"
The problem is i have no idea how to do this, and whenever i connect my usb cable my phone asks me which type of transfer method and i always select pc suite, so it shouldnt give me this error.

plese help me for fixing this issue: Mine is nokia n85 smart phone. • My Nokia phone cannot connect to Nokia Suite (E6-0...

    Hello,
I have the following problem. 2 days ago I updated my Nokia Suite with a new version ... Everything went smooth, but, when I tried to connect my phone (both E6 and C5) the suite displayed an error message saying that the phone is not connected in PC Suite mode ... I checked the setting on both phones and both were in PC SUite mode.
I emailed the Nokia support and they suggested me to reset the phone to factory settings ... I did it, but the problem still persists ... Then I tried to reinstall the Suite ... But without any result ... I still cannot connect the devices to Nokia suite.
Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? Are there others that are experiencing the same issue?

    Hi EugeniuSp,
    - Which Windows version and which Windows Service Pack do you have installed?
    After that, please try following:
    - First, disconnect both phones from your PC.
    - Then reboot your PC
    - When PC has started again, start again Nokia Suite
    - Try now connecting your phone in PC Suite mode to your PC via USB cable
    - Does Nokia Suite now connect to your phone?
If that didn't help, try following:
    - Disconnect your phone from PC
    - Go into WIndows Control Panel
    - Search there installed programs
    - Uninstall Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    - Restart your PC
    - When PC has restarted, please run again Nokia Suite installation package (available from www.nokia.com/nokiasuite) and choose repair option
    - After Nokia Suite installation has completed, try connecting your phone again to your PC.
    - Does Nokia Suite now connect to your phone?
    Cheers, Samuli

  • Phone will not connect to PC suite

Hi - have an N96 and trying to sync with PC. Have latest version of PC suite software (downloaded yesterday) and running Vista 64, all up to date.
When I connect my phone, the handset pops up options to connect and I select 'pc suite mode'.
But the pc suite says the phone is connected in a non-compatible mode (file transfer mode) so won't work.
It's driving me mad... any ideas??

    Problem solved....
It appears that the Nokia installer does NOT update the cable drivers correctly.
    1)  Un-install the current cable drivers from your computer
    2)  Download the current usb cable drivers from Nokia http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/cable-drivers/driver-for-nokia-dk...
(This link is current for 16th July 2009)
    3)  Then install
Your computer should now see your phone in PC Suite mode
    Hope this helps everyone

In order to use your Nokia X2-01 as a modem, I advise you to follow the steps below:
    1) First of all uninstall Pc Suite and Ovi Suite by installing PC Suite cleaner on your PC.
    2) Then restart your computer
    3) Download Nokia Suite and open the program
    4) Connect your device by USB cable and in Nokia Suite go to Options > Connect to internet
Your computer will now be connected to your phone's 3G internet connection.
Make sure you benefit from a data plan from your network provider.
Let us know how you get on and please post any other questions you may have.

  • Not able to change to PC SUITE MODE..Please Help

    Hi!
Yesterday, i had brought a E90 communicator and wanted to sync it my laptop but however i am not able to, because when i am connecting the phone to the USB, my phone asks me to connect via pc suite or file mode. I choose Pc Suite Mode everytime but somehow on my laptop its says i am connected via non compatible mode i.e file manager mode. I have updated PC SUITE to v 6.83..but still no resort to the problem, please help.. I am using windows Vista..
i have also tried uninstalling all nokia softwares and re installing, hard reset my phone.but no outcome..any genius?
    Thanks..

    Hi nishantjairath
Unfortunatley if you try to un-install PCSuite 6.83 rel_14.1 the core application uninstalls but cable driver portion doesn't!
You perhaps need to go to microsoft.com and download Windows Installer Cleanip Utility "msicuu2.exe"
Go to Start > Programs > Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
When you run this it looks a bit like the add/remove program window. Now select "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solution" programs.
Now go back to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and try and remove "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and the "PC Connectivity Solution" programs. They should now uninstall.
    Reboot your PC
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

  • E71x not vibrate after connected with PC Suite

Anyone has the same problem? My E71x purchased 2 days ago does not vibrate while and after connected with PC Suite. I had to turn off and turn it back on to activate the vibrating thing.
    Thanks

mmm... ill describe the whole situation:
    phone has 2 days old
I connected it to the PC
    Running PC SUITE
All was functioning normal, i had about half charge
i got a phone call from my gf, when i picked up the call, i disconnected the phone
the line dropped dead. so did the phone
i tried to restart it to no avail
i plugged it to the pc, didnt work
i removed the batter, didnt work
so i connected it to the power cord, and the lights turned on
i disconnected then tried to boot it up, and didnt work
i reconnected the power cord and started it while on external power, and it did start, showing just 1 little bar of battery.
I left it there for about 1hr and removed it, and charge was FULL
i reconnected to PC and im monitoring it and it hasn't discharged
    so its weird... <.<
my guess is that unlike HTC or Sony Ericsson phones, the data cable and hte power cable CAN be connected at the SAME TIME. that would be the only explanaition on why it doenst charge up on the USB (but ohter theory of mine is that if i connect it to the PC on file trnasfer mode, it might charge it)

  • 5800 XM connection problems with PC Suite!

    Hello,
I cannot connect my Nokia 5800 XM with Nokia PC Suite... it used to work, but one day (I don't remember it clearly but I think i did a firmware update of the phone that day over the air...)it stopped. My pc now still recognises the phone as mobile device and i can access the external and phone memory over windows explorer, but PC Suite doesn't find it.
What version of Windows is being used?
    - XP Professional 32bit
    What Service Pack is installed?
    - SP2
What version of PC Suite is installed?
    - 7.1.51.0
What is the connection method, cable, bluetooth or IR?
    - well neither now...
I've already followed several tutorials how to remove PC Suite cleanly, repaired the connectivity drivers, re-installed the bluetooth drivers, followed the pdf manual of how to install connectivity drivers and to troubleshoot them, used pc suite cleaner... I really don't know any more I can do now I'm kinda desperate
When I wanna add the phone to the PC Suite, it just doesn't find any phones connected... Furthermore, I used to be able to connect my phone over bluetooth, but since then I get the message that I cannot use that type of connection and should check if drivers and everything are okay (don't know the exact message as I use PC Suite in German)...
My drivers and my device are okay though, I can also connect other bluetooth devices to my pc so it works... I have a HP integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.0 technology using the Broadcom driver version 5.0 that _came with the notebook_ and is the driver downloadable over the official hp homepage - so it can't be that, I think..
Curiously, when I open the connection manager, the available options are IR, Bluetooth and serial cable CA-42, despite the claim on another Nokia page that using the CA101 cable used for 5800XM it should show the serial and the USB option, which isn't shown at all ...
Please help me, I've been trying all kinds of things for 2 weeks now..the phone also has the newest firmware,btw...
    I'm really getting desperate here...
    Greetings, Christina

    Nobody, really?
Guys I'm desperate here... can maybe someone from Nokia help?
I've really tried everything I've found out there, and nothing seems to work for me... (

  • OVI Suite says my X6 is not in PC Suite mode

I have a Nokia X6, just installed the software update for it. I have the latest version of OVI Suite.
When I try to connect my X6 to the OVI suite, it recognizes it, but when I click the phone, a balloon appears and says that my X6 is not in PC Suite mode.
Tried out every possible solution and nothing works.
    - repair all nokia components from the control panel
    - reinstall OVI and connect phone disabling internet connection
any real solution for this problem?
    Thanx

  • My macbook pro 2.0 early 2011 will not go to sleep with the power source connected. only enters sleep mode when running on battery. Someone did this happen, and it could solve?

Alo, my Macbook pro i7 2 GHz Intel Core i7 (early 2011) will not go to sleep with the power source connected. only enters sleep mode when running on battery. Someone did this happen, and it could solve?

There is no output from that command line?   Maybe the pid changed.
I'll repeat what I am trying to find out...
    1. You do a pmset -g on the terminal.
    2. The output from that pmset should have a line that says "sleep 0 (imposed by n)" where n is some number.
    3. The ps ax | grep n is supposed to display what the process associated with n is.
It's the output from step 3 that should indicate what is causing you not to sleep.
But speaking of sleep, that's where I am going.

  • 2 TB Time Capsule Not Letting Windows 7 Prof Backup With Connection Sharing Off(Bridge Mode)

    Hello Everyone,
I've been struggling with this and I am completely puzzled, I have a 2 TB Time Capsule that has the connection sharing: Off(Bridge Mode) and I am unable to backup my Windows 7 Professional Desktop to the Time Capsule.  So far I am able to map and access the Data file inside the Time Capsule
in My Computer on the PC after installing Airport Utility version 5.5.3.  However, I see 2 errors when trying to perform a backup:
Error 1)  When I try to do a regular back up using the Backup and Restore Utility, I get an error stating:
Error Code: 0x81000031  The last backup did not complete successfully
Error 2) When I try to create a system image :
A backup cannot be done to a remote shared folder which is not hosted on a volume formatted with NTFS.
    Error Code:  0x807800B0
What's weird about all this is other then having the backup inside my Windows 7 Proffesional home PC configured the exact same way, and back up
on my Linux and XP and Windows 7 Proffesional boxes with no issues, the only change in menu that is different on that Windows machine is that under the Internet Tab under the Airport Utility, Connection Sharing is set to:
    Share a public IP address
I've read some post online and microsoft is saying that the error is generated because the Time Capsule is not in NTFS format.  However, my time
capsule at home is a FAT32 just like the 2TB one here that is giving me all this grief.  Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Some of the article is wrong.. so be careful.. HFSexplorer AFAIK cannot write.. only read HFS+.
It is also irrelevant to the TC.. what the Mac can read and what the TC can read are two different things.. also storage on network drive is handled by SMB.. file format is actually irrelevant. For disks directly plugged into a computer.. buy two.. one for the Mac and one for the PC.. use each in native format. Share files the right way.. via network.
