5800 Organising menu

This is driving me mad. I tried to rearrange the icons in my main menu view and the 'messaging' icon has disappeared. Using the search facility I can find it in 'other/applications', but I can't find out how to move it back to the main menu. I can't find a folder to search, nor the root folder. Can anyone help me. . . . . . please?
Many thanks,
Colin

go on to "applications" menu ,then in options selects organise, here on top left you should find the root folder where you can drag drop the icon you want...

    hey,
does anyone know how i could have a "games" icon on my nokia 5800 main menu similar to the one on the nokia n97, because i dont like how my games are mixed in with all my other applications under the "apps" icon.
    thanks.

hi, thanks for the suggestion but i am already aware of this...
i wanted an actual "games" icon in the main menu, something similar to the one in the picture, instead of a folder, where i could put my games in.

  • PSE 7 - Organiser menu bar collapsed

I would really appreciate some advice to recover the menu bar in the Organiser window (version 7).  It seems to have collapsed itself into a couple of hard to see chevrons >> where the menu bar used to be.
When you click on the chevrons you get the usual menus in a drop down box. I have no idea how the menu bar ended up in this configuration but I would prefer it back in the normal way with the variousmenu options in a line along the bar. I've tried looking in help files and all the usual configuration places but I can't find anything to change this.

Many thanks. That has fixed it. I would never have thought that that particular
preferences option would have had that effect.

  • Nokia 5800 white menu button flashes

Hi & yes its me again , i seem to have a strange thing on my mobile, whenever i reply to a message or just end a phone call & the mobile locks itself automatically the white menu screen flashes as though its indicating that i have a missed call or sms, but however I would have none of these, the inbox isn't full either, to make the white button stop flashing I have to unlock and relock the phone again.
Has anyone had this type of problem before?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Found out it was the breathing light that was going slowly on and off, if i disable it, its gone, however i enabled it as i didnt mind having this feature turned on, the new sms or missed call light flashes faster than the breathing light, however Its fine with me Thanks to all!!!

  • QuickTime doesn't open up! Please Help!

i recently upgraded to lion, and accidently deleted quick time. I used the snow leopard disk to restore it, but now it doesn't work. Evey time I open it up i get this massage:
QuickTime Player cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure QuickTime Player works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X.
Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple.
I tried using the software update but it says that all the software is up to date.
    What should I do????

    excellent information, sparkly.

    ... and:
To help protect your computer, Data Execution Prevention has closed iTunes
... and the QuickTime Player not launching either (it's a "QuickTime has stopped working" error?).
With that combination, we need to check on some other application (apart from QuickTime itself) stashing old QuickTime componentry on the PC in an unorthodox location. (Codec packs and video converters are the usual suspects with that, although some games might do the same.)
So we'll go looking for the older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
*If you have a 32-bit version of Windows,* open the "System32" folder.
*If you have a 64-bit version of Windows,* open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

I uninstalled QT, did a reboot, removed all QT files including any in /window/SysWOW64.  Then I reloaded a stand alone version of QT while I was not connected to a network with my Norton Firewall off.
Still no luck.  Then I removed all Appe software from the machine and reloaded just QT.  Still nothing.
    What am I missing?

Interesting. The pref file issues have more commonly produced a sort of error-message-free launch failure (except that a button for the Player shows in the Task Bar). But the symptoms of this sort of thing tend to be subject to change without notice (which is why I thought I'd better check).
The pref files can be difficult to track down. (Where they show up on a Vista or 7 box seems to depend on whether or not you're 64-bit, or possibly even depending on which versions of QuickTime have been installed on the machine. haven't quite worked out the rules for that yet.) But the following instructions are worth a try.
First we need to check some View Settings. Log back into your usual account.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive your user documents are stored on.
    Open the "Users" folder.
Open the folder with the name of the Windows User account in which the QuickTime Player isn't displaying properly.
    Open the "AppData" folder.
Now the hunt for the QuickTime preferences begins.
    Open the "Roaming" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
Do you see a "QuickTime" folder in there? If so, drag that out onto the Desktop. Now try launching the QuickTime Player. Does it open properly this time?
If there was no QuickTime folder in \Roaming\Apple Computer\, or if the Player still doesn't open properly
Quit the QuickTime Player taskbar button again.
Go back into the "AppData" folder.
    Open the "Local" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
Do you see a "QuickTime" folder in there? If so, drag that out onto the Desktop. Now try launching the QuickTime Player again.
If there was no QuickTime folder in \Local\Apple Computer\, or if the menu has not been cleared
Quit the QuickTime Player taskbar button again.
Go back into the "AppData" folder.
    Open the "LocalLow" folder.
    Open the "Apple Computer" folder.
Do you see a "QuickTime" folder in there? If so, drag that out onto the Desktop. Now try launching the QuickTime Player again. Any luck this time?

  • I can't load 11.4.  Now I don't have Itunes at all.  keeps giving me a runtime error

I keep getting I need to update itunes to the lastest one.  I did and after that, I keep getting this error R6034 that says an application has made an attempt to load the c runtime library incorrectly.  Please contact support.  What do I do?  I removed Itunes and tried to download it manually and when I get the finish window, it's over in the left corner with only 1/4 of the end of the message showing.  I can't even hit the finish button.  What do I do since now my Itunes won't work at all?

Experimental advice ... but, plausibly, the preference files containing the parental control setting may be damaged. If so, removing the iTunes preference files may help.
For the basic technique, see the "Remove iTunes preference files" section from the "User-specific troubleshooting" section of the following document:
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
To see those folders, you'll need to first set your PC to view hidden files and folders
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Prior to doing the preference file rebuilds: Best to make a note of any custom preferences you have set up for your iTunes. (Rebuilding pref files returns preferences to their defaults ... so you'll likely have to set some of those custom preferences up again from scratch.) Also make a note of any third-party plugins/add-ons you have installed. You may have to reinstall those after the rebuilds.
Things to watch out for during the rebuilds
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Local\ location causes the iTunes license agreement to run. So you'll need to agree to that again.
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Roaming\ location causes the iTunes Setup Assistant to run. When prompted to do so, do not add files to your iTunes library. (Otherwise you'll end up with a library full of duplicates.)

Itunes has always been working fine on my pc up until one day, I click on the Itunes icon, and it looks like it's loading for like 3 seconds and then it does absolutely nothing...
I tried re-installing the program twice, nothing.
I tried opening MsConfig and disabling all applications upon start up except for Itunes and Quicktime (which I believe was a suggestion here on this website for this problem). But that did nothing...
Not to mention I re-booted the computer countless times... And that did nothing...

  • ITunes will not install on my windows vista operated laptop

... I know this is not a new question, and I have tried just about everything that was suggested before.  I removed iTunes and Quicktime and all programs related to them and reinstalled iTunes. However, it still will not open; I get a message indicating that the Data Execution Prevention program has closed it down.
I tried to bypass the DEP, following the instructions provided, by manually exempting iTunes from it.  However, I received a message that this program could not be exempted.  The DEP setting was set so that only Windows System 32 programs would be governed by it.  But this did not work either.
Finally, I set things up so that iTunes would run only via an adminstrator account, but this too did not work.
I should note that iTunes worked fine on my laptop until several weeks ago, when Microsoft pushed some windows updates.  (I have Windows Vista Service Pack 2 operating now, but don't know what it is or its significance to this problem.)
So, I think I have exhausted the troubleshooting options I have seen.  ... Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.
