5800 XM corrupt problem

hello guys..
i am facing prob with my 5800 music player...
while listening to songs some of my songs get corrupted and when i swich off my cell they work again but after 2-3 songs of playing it again gets corrupted...
i tried to format the card i got with 5800 but did not helped me..
and sometimes when i try to play the song which it shows in the list it shows me no songs..and sometimes and redirects back to music player main menu...
any help what to do and how would this be corrected..
and i am facing one more prob..the white butto on the side of xpress music sometimes dont work and i have to switch off the cell to make it work...
plzzz help me...

1. Plug your device into MASS STORAGE mode.
2. Copy out all your data from memory card to computer.
3. Use Windows Explorer to format the memory card (use FAT32) and dont use QUICK FORMAT.
4. Copy back all your backed up data from computer to memory card.
5. Now to refresh ..
- Open Windows Explorer
- Open E:\Private folder
- Open 101ffca9 Folder
- Delete harvesterdb.dat file
- Delete the E:\Private\10281e17
- Disconnect phone from PC
- Turn device OFF then ON back again
Remember: Media library refreshing may take somtime to load for the first time depending on the amount of songs you're having on the device. Please be patient.
Tips
- For the best result, recommended SD/SDHC is of Class 6
- Use songs with 128kbps with 44100KHz for the optimised result.

Corruption problem with iPod

okay, so I have a strange corruption problem with my iPod: no matter now many times I attempt to restore, nothing seems to happen. How do I fix this?
NOTE: Whenever I attempt to play it, my iPod is always displaying the following message: Connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore.

God d*mmit, a very simaler problem just happened again! Only this time I didn't drop it or anything. An error message occurs whenever I connect the iPod (which seems to be fine) to the computer. And the iPod appears in "My Computer" but not iTunes (so I can't even sync/restore it) Based on that, it's probably an error mostly having to do with the iPod/computer connection. I even made a screenshot of this! Take a look (the error message is at the bottom right):

I'll probably help from someone experienced with Windows this time, by the way.

Major File Corruption Problem...

In the past week I suddenly have a file corruption problem that is destroying everything I'm working on. It first showed up when I converted a 16 bit file to 8 bit, but it now is happening if I add a layer and apply the High Pass filter, or add some Shadow & Highlight detail, then the layers begun to almost 'dissolve' and become more transparent…or they take on a block-like transparency. I'm attaching a couple of shots that show the kind of thing that is happening...
This was a fairly simple image with 5 separate image layers. When I added a layer and applied the High Pass, it corrupted the background layer to give me this...
You can see the icon in the Layers palate clearly shows the corrupted Background layer. There is also a bit showing on the Hi Pass Layer icon...
Next is a much larger (almost 2 GB) file with tons of layers that looked fine...
…but when the High Pass layer is isolated you can see the corruption clearly...
Shortly after taking these screen caps, the rest of the layers all got corrupted, and all the layer mask icons looked like checkerboards with the blocky transparency. Deleting the affected layers and adding them back in didn't help…they would just get corrupted again. Deleting the corrupted layers, saving the remaining file and quitting didn't help…opening the file again and attempting to add the layers back would result in still more corruption. I found some success in starting from scratch, doing one or two things, saving, then quitting Photoshop. Then I would duplicate the file, reopen Photoshop and do one or two things, save again, then quit Photoshop again…repeat a hundred times! Not exactly a workflow I can live with...
And the really messed up thing is that this is happening with both CS6 and the CC version. I'm working on a MacPro 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC, ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB card, on OS X 10.8.5
Any help will be greeted with loads of praise!

I am searching how to solve my problems for a ong time now :
I have data corruption problem on my PC : for example when I rar a big file (like 600Mo) I have CRC errors on my sata drive but not my ide
when I do a Divx I have image corruptions espcially in movements
My config :
Motherboard : MSI Neo2 K8N platinium
Processor : AMD64 3500+
Memory : Corsair 2x512Mb 3.3.3.8 tested all night with memtest or gold memory : ok
HD : IBM Sata 160Gb tested with hitachi test tool : OK
HD: IBM Ide 80Gb : ok
Graphics : Asus ATI 9600XT
No overclocking !
The shop from which I buy my components told me that it was a partitioning error ????????
Well after is "help" I still have the problem !
But how can it be true as I have done my partitions more than once !
Once under XP install, once with PartitionMagic
And if i create a partition copy a file and rar it there I have a CRC error
What can i do now I am sick of reinstalling again and again XP !
Can it be the sata cable ? from MSI by the way ... and the hitachi test tool told me that the HD is OK
I have done installs without installing Nividia 5.10 drivers it doesn't help
Do I have to install only 5.03 drivers from MSI ?
Any idea ?
So has you see I am desesperate and I will propably by another motherboard as I can't guess where the problem is !

If left on "auto" memory voltage is set via reading the SPID-info of the ram. You can easily check this with a multimeter. On my sys the voltage is set correctly to 2.7V with my corsair memory.

5800 wi fi problems

when in my home wi fi network, my 5800 wont use wi fi as its default connection. it always did before, but i had to default the handset due to corruption. it will connect to my wi fi manually, and in 'destinations' my wifi is the priority connection. if i start applications such as iplayer or ovi store they automatically start to use the gprs connection despite being well in range of my wireless router. grateful for any help on ths.

What a coincidence I have the same problem with my nokia 5800 which means I can't connect to ovi store automatically and I'm having a hard time trying to download applications.
I think the answer would be to do a hard reset by pressing *#7370# then type the security code
12345 which is the factory default security code.
I may do this eventually myself but am a bit reluctant at present because you lose everything, so you have to back it up first. but I don't want to lose my gps navigation - garmin which I purchased separately, you can't back that up - there's a special way to re-install it but I'm not 100% sure how yet.

5800 screen corruption

My 5800 has been fine these last 6 months but a few days ago it developed a fault whereby the screen corrupts when keylock off is selected. Sometimes it clears in a second or 2 other times it refuses to come back and repeated use ot the keylock and the red button are the only cures. The screen displays many horizontal lines and it is not possible to read anything but pressing the screen will activate any icons you touch even though you do not know which one you have pressed.
I have the latest software update. I have not tried a hard or soft reset. Took it back to local store today but its a new fault to them. they have offered to send it away and give me a loan phone meanwhile. Before I do that, I thought I would ask if anyone had seen anything similar.

hi i recently got successfully repaired my broken screen on my 5800 it was working fine for a few days and then i updated the Firmware to V5... when it turned back on after update the bottom half of the screen was white and the top half is corrupt and looks like 1cm chunk of what should be on the right of the screen is now on the left...it also effects the digitiser which leads me to believe that it must be a software problem.....ive flashed the firmware (V5) over and over again and still no difference during the flash process however when the screen says nokia local mode and the screen looks fine so this must be a software problem????
if any one could help then that would be most appreciated!!!!

LR 4.1 Corruption Problem

I have LR 4.1 and just experienced what I think was a corrupted catalog problem. I do not know how long the problem has existed; I do not think it was there yesterday, and I have now done something which I think has cleared it up. It may just be one time "glitch," but thought I would report it and see if anyone else has had a similar problem.
I have various Folders in LR. The folders I saw a problem with this morning take the following form:
C:\Users\Richard\Pictures\2012
---------April Pictures
---------May Pictures
Note that the actual folders have different names, but they were in this format.
When I highlighted C:\Users\Richard\Pictures\2012, I saw the 32 proper images on the screen. The subfolders, April and May, showed a quantity of 0, each, as they should have done because yesterday, I had moved (through LR) all photos from April and May into the parent folder.
However, this morning, I wanted to Remove both the April and May folders, since they no longer had anything in them. But when I highlighted either April or May, the Grid view showed the entire 15,000+ images in this catalog.
I tried to Remove both April and May (separately), but nothing happened. The entire 15,000+ images remained on screen. Both the April and May folders remained, each showing a count of 0 images, but still showing all 15,000+ images.
Therefore, under C:\Users\Richard\2012, I created a new folder, call it "Temp Folder." Through LR, I moved each of the set of pictures in this folder into the "Temp Folder." There were 25 images for April and 7 images for May. When I did this, the "Temp Folder" looked proper.
However, the picture count under April Pictures showed "-25"; under May Pictures, it showed "-7". Highlighting either one still showed the 15,000+ images in my entire catalog.
I then proceeded to Remove April Pictures as well as May Pictures. Everything seemed back to normal.
Again, this may just be a one time glitch. I do not know what if anything I did caused the problem initially. I have been using LR since it first came out and have never seen anything like this before.
Just thought I would report this.

As an update, I just tried LR 4.2rc -- while the performance is snappier in develop module, the import is not improved even in the slightest.

IPhoto problems. When trying to print a book I am getting corruption problems when previewing in pdf. Please help !

I am having repeated problems producing a photo book on Iphoto v9.2.1
When i preview my photo book in pdf before sending to be printed, some of the photos are corrupted even though they are ok in iPhoto.
I have tried changing the photo but then the corruption seems to move to another page. I have also updated my software and restarted the computer as directed by the help section, but to no avail.
All ideas gratefully received !

Strange corruption problem with AVCHD

This problem is so weird I can't even figure out how to explain it, but here goes:
I have video taken in the AVCHD file structure (puts clip into a nesting of folders, the MTS files are playable by Windows Media Player/VLC). The problem I'm having is that one of the clips has a couple seconds of corruption in the 8th minute (of an 78 min clip). Playing the clip in Windows Media Player/VLC, the clip recovers and plays just fine immediately after that point, however, in Premiere Pro CS 5.5, the audio goes into a loop for the next hour or so of footage, but then finally recovers and plays fine for the last 15 min.
Why is Premiere handling the corruption so differently than the media players? Naturally, I would really like to have Premiere recognize all of the intact audio!

Your original file is obviously way too big to provide for download.

It's not straighforward. There may be a utility somewhere that allows you to mark in and out points, and then cuts the original MTS file into exact copies of the marked sections - but I don't know of one offhand.
As I said earlier, you can use a hex editor to trim sections of the file before and after the section of interest, but finding the "section of interest" will be guesswork and may require a few attempts. Frankly it may not be worth the effort for you if you aren't familiar with using a hex editor.

5800 Security Certificate Problem on updating OVI ...

I am caught in a loop with OVI Store on my 5800. When I try to access OVI store I am informed there is an update. The phone downloads the update via my WIFI connection at home, I try to install it then I get a message "ONLINE CERTIFICATE CHECK FAILED".
The only way out is to cancel the install and try again. 10 plus time later and still no joy and I have no access to OVI store at all.
I also tried to uninstall the OVI store app but the same problem persists.

5800 IMPORTANT GPS problem

Hi everyone, There is a fault in GPS of 5800. Most of the 5800 phones in the market, GPS dont work properly. I had lots of problems from two different network. I returned them. If you are thinking of buying 5800, be careful about the GPS. They try to sell their maps or try to make it work from internet mode. But Satellite positioning doesnt work. My friend got one, his phone works properly but I tried two different they didnt get any satellite signal. I tried another 2 in the shops, they also didnt catch satellite signal. Be careful.

I've bought a 5800 red for my girlfriend on saturday (4 days ago)
I can confirm that the first time you load the maps application, it takes alot of time to fix and calibrate to the sattelites. The problem i found was that the app didn't want to set a route for the destination i set, and was just showing my location as i drove away. I haven't tried to use it since then because i haven't been driving away from home.
I decided to try other solutions and installed Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.30, that fully supports nokia 5800xm. I have to say i'm really impressed. Initial acquiring of sattelites took about as much as it took Nokia Maps, but on the second start, the next day, it was next to immediate. I must mention i never used A-GPS, just the unassisted GPS.
I then set a route and the app already started telling me to turn right after 100 meters(with voice).
I guess it's an overall beter option, besides the fact that (i think) it doesn't support walking mode like Nokia Maps does, and it costs quite a bit -- ~$9.
Other than the Nokia Maps route problem, i didn't have any other problems.
Maybe the problem the OP had was similar to the faulty earpieces, but at a smaller scale. Who knows...

5800 xpressmusic javascript problem

while im accessing some security sites n some pages in the internet ,msg like javascript not enable is coming.so please give the solution regarding this ? Im using nokia 5800 xpress music.Also tell me that can this model support pdf file n please guide how can i open pdf file?

And I also have problem mentioned above (sgouder), so sometimes I can't touch the buttons I want and always the button on the right of the screen in that line is pushed (e.g. number 3 is pushed when I try to press number 1 when dialing number). Same on the whole screen (error stills same with change of orientation of display). This behaviour in the beginging happened only sometimes, now is very often and occuring especially when I have phone in pocket and unlock it. I have to lock and unlock it for several times until the problem is gone. Sometimes the problem also appears after few touches after unlocking (I can go into writing SMS and there it happened). I also experienced that it can be connected with gyroscope (sometimes only rotation of diaplay and back helps, but not often). Unfortunatelly there is no more warranty on my phone (water accident), but the touchscreen was replaced after this accident for the new one. I hope the error is only in the touch display.

5800 XM screen problem!!!!

after i did the Software update on my phone a problem in the screen started to appear
sometimes i unlock my phone from the side key and i find the screen like in the picture (ATTACHED)
i already tried to reset the phone, hard reset.. etc but it didn't work,
i know maybe changing the firmware might help but i don't wanna do it at all.
IF you have any information about this problem plz write me about it!

    I am a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic owner from Malaysia. I have had the same problem with my phone's screen distorted for a few months now. Guess what ? I think I have found a solution (temporary) to the problem!
    I realise the issue only occurs when I am in my office. When I am at home or outside, It does not happen. It seems that the issue is caused by COLD! By keeping my phone warm (I normally place it on top of my laptop charger, which is warm) the issue is resolved.
    To all Nokia Support Staff who is reading this, I hope you guys/gals could look into this matter. To all Nokia 5800 XpressMusic owners, hope this solution helps you guys/gals as well as It has definitely helped me.

Yesterday, we detected this error because SQL don't execute.
The error repeat 47times and there is 6 different file-block combination (4 index of schemas, 1 of sys and ¡2 tables!)
First, I launched expdp and exp of the one problematic schema. The export was fine, no errors while exporting, but in the alert.log show one block corruption. Should exp and expd show error and stop?
Next, I used dbv and verify all dbfs. Only show 2 blocks error in two datafiles (indexes).
Next, I used RMAN:
A) check database: no error.
B) validate database: error in two blocks (logical error) and different from the 6 in alert.log. This two blocks are indexes.
I re-create this two indexes. When i re-create, the block error disappear (not inmediate, suppose that disappear when block was rewrite). Now dbv and rman show no error.
I have read one note about types of error, other about procedures if db is in archivelog/noarchivelog. Also if object is index or table. But I find anything about auto-repair corrupt blocks in Oracle or why now the 6 block error are solved. I don't know if two tables with two block corrupt lost rows or not.
Appreciate any help.

Hello Fran. Result of query before rebuild problematic INDEXES:
SQL> select * from V$database_block_corruption;
FILE# BLOCK# BLOCKS CORRUPTION_CHANGE# CORRUPTIO

9 48632 1 390325900 LOGICAL
When I ran RMAN first time to check blocks, it filled V$database_block_corruption with two bad blocks. Different from the 6 errors from alert.:
RMAN> backup validate check logical database;
Error backing up file 9, block 48632: logical corruption
Error backing up file 3, block 98857: logical corruption
I extracted index name from each block and I re-created it. Also, I created a temporary table in tablespace's datafile to fill blocks empty. Problem solved. Rman / dbv show no error.
I'm searching for similar experiences and found: Re: Data in bad block
First 6 bad checksum errors in alert.log disappear with any visible problem?
Can I sure that DB is fine if RMAN and DBV show no errors?

Nokia 5800 music uploading problem

Hey there, I have had alot of trouble transfering music to my phone. It transfers and plays fine, but when i transfer the songs/albums, most of them aren't what I named them on my pc and a few of my songs get sorted in with random albums
I posted on here a few days back and I was given a solution which worked perfectly (Transfering by inserting the phone memorycard into my pc, and refreshing library when transfer is complete.) the albums were exactly as i named them and so were the songs. Once i tried to upload more, it all went wrong.

I have the same issue with track playback.
Although I hear the popping only occasionally, it does not matter what format the file is in, it happens from time to time randomly and although disappointing, it does not detract too much from my enjoyment of the music.
A more serious and fatal error that is now occurring is the freezing of playback once a file completes and tries to advance to advance to the next track.
This became a problem only recently as of July 2010. I have owned the phone since October of 2009 and have never had any issues with the handset. And indeed, have recommended and gushed over the features and ease of use of the 5800. It should be noted that the player freezes only when I play “All Songs” either randomly or from a playlist. Or, when playing even by Album or Artist, when I select next track or previous track, the player will freeze and not shut down. I am left to turn the phone off and on again to reset the player.
The phone is fully updated with the latest firmware released to the Americas market. And I use the latest Ovi Suite program for phone management. I have tried the suggested fixes of reset, restore, re-update, and even have reformatted the memory card. All of this, to no avail.
I have noticed that the Americas market is behind an update or two as to firmware and I cannot access the latest and greatest thru any Nokia website. So if I must I can be patient and wait my turn. But, if someone has an actual hard fix for this specific problem, I would be most grateful. Please, no guesses or “it may be” suggestions as I have gone thru them all already.
I know I’m not the only one with this problem as the boards threads are becoming dense enough to knit a sweater.
